    LG TV Media Browser App?

Good afternoon, I downloaded the Media Browser server last night and i have to say it is a lot better then the Plex server i have previously been using. It actually finds my files and downloads the proper artwork for them, and not some random program. What i was wondering was, is there a program you can either side-load on to your LG Tv or download, instead of using the normal network connection, and not being able to see the thumbnails? Plex was ok at showing thumbnails (albeit the complete wrong ones), but has since stopped showing any whatsoever! Thank you for your help in advance Carl
  2. Hey all, Having trouble access media on newly installed Emby server on Debian linux. Emby was able to detect the media folder and everything in it but when I try and play a file it gives me this "No compatible streams are currently available. Please try again later or contact your system administrator for details" I changed the permissions on the folder to 777 to troubleshoot and it is still giving the same error. In the logs it looks like it is say permission denied when I try and access a file and I am now at a lost of what it could be. LogError.txt
  3. Hello, I just installed the 4.3.0.26 version of emby and since then I can't find my media. I tried to return to the previous version no change.... I scan my media on a second network server via samba and I have not had any problems so far at this level. Anyone have any ideas? Sincerely.

    ANSWERED No sound(headphone) remote jack

Roku Ultra (2018). When i plug in headphones into the jack on the Roku remote, there is no audio from Emby for any of the media played, Live TV, Recordings, or local files. There is the button sound effects and other Rokus system audio, and other apps all play sound fine. If i unlplug headphone, the sound does come back to the tv. Looked in the apps settings, and Audio +subtitle settings just says "see the user menu in web app" and Convert Muti-channel AAC...has no effect. The TV and media recordings are AC3 audio...if that helps. All my tv channels are that way, Edit: Also noticed, that if I change the Rokus system Audio settings to Stereo, (or anything other than Auto) the Emby app does not load any media, live tv or local. It just hangs on the loading bar of Retrieving. It lock a tuner, and the dashboard says it is playing, but it is not. Have to restart server to unlock it.
  5. Hi, I saw is possible download the media by clicking in Download button. I have my media A.mvk with A.srt But when I try to download it, it just download the media file, without the subtitle, is possible also download the subtitle related to the media file? Thanks,

    Scan Media Library Hanging

Not sure if it was a result of server release 4.1.1.0 or TVDB release 1.07 but my library scans have been hanging at 92.3% going on at least 6 hours now and the server has slow responses while this is happening. My emby server hung up 2 days ago and I had to do a full restart of the VM, not sure if it was because of the library scan or not. There are no issues with the storage locations in which my media is hosted. I searched the forums and didn't see anyone else reporting such issue.

    Folder Sync for Backup Job

Hi there, the Folder Sync Plugin can be used for Backup Purposes... But, then please insert a "Move" Option so that i get my Files Moved to the Backup Location (just the original Files, without Transcoding etc.) Really nice would be an Option in Emby to Backup Media (MOVE) to a Folder if defined Users have watched it. That would really help to keep the Libraries organized and not too big.... Thanks for Reading best Regards Brudertac
  9. Hi everyone. I use TinyMediaManager to do all of my metadata. I happen to move my files around a lot based on my own organizational madness, lol. This would KILL Emby's collections method. I switched over from Plex a few days ago and this was maddening because I was used to using tags. So I wrote an export template for TinyMediaManager that exports a list of movies in xml form. I wrote my template to conform to Emby's collection.xml scheme and placed the xml in a "CollectionName [boxset]" folder in the Collections folder. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it worked. So, I can rearrange my files at will, use whatever folder and naming scheme that I wish, replace files with better quality rips, re-tag or rename, or pretty much do whatever i want. I just thought that I'd share my methods for people in the same situation. I have several MoviesFolders though, including a folder containing all the movies that I haven't watched yet. There's also a folder of movies that I consider temporary residents on my hard drive. TinyMediaManager keeps it's export templates in a folder named "templates" in the main program folder. In this folder, I had to create a folder named "EmbyCollectionXML". In that folder, I need 2 files. I need a "template.conf" file and a "list.jmte" file. TinyMediaManagerFolder\templates\EmbyCollectionXML\ In the conf file I needed the following: name =EXCEL list type=movie list=list.jmte extension=xml description=This template exports a valid Emby collections.xml file In the list.jmte I needed the following: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <Item> <LockData> true </LockData> <LocalTitle>Collection Title</LocalTitle> <DisplayOrder>PremiereDate</DisplayOrder> <CollectionItems> ${foreach movies movie} <CollectionItem> ${foreach movie.mediaFiles mediaFile} ${if first_mediaFile}<Path>${mediaFile.path}\\${mediaFile.filename}</Path>${end} ${end} </CollectionItem> ${end} </CollectionItems> </Item> This template exports an xml that writes the path for every one of your movies inside a CollectionItem. In TinyMediaManager, I simply filter the list by tags or by "datasource" or by whatever I want, then I export the list using my template. Open that xml and change "Collection Title" to whatever the name of my Collection will be. Rename the xml to "Collection Title.xml" Create a folder inside your Emby Collections folder: \Emby-Server\programdata\data\collections\Collection Title [boxset]\ Place your xml in that folder. I put a folder.jpg in there too for my collection. I refreshed my Collections in Emby and BOOM: There it was. I don't know if this will be helpful for anyone else, but that's how I do it for my custom collections that plugins might not pick up and to deal with me moving stuff around occasionally. It's best for big collections or random custom collections. Oh, and the reason I can't just filter by tags on the movies screen is because I'm using the Tizen version of Emby client on a Samsung Smart TV. That means if I filter and there aren't enough movies, I can't get back to that "Filters" button. It's been discussed in another thread.

    Mark all items as watched

Hello.. I was wondering if there's a quick, easy way to mark all movie items in a library was watched? TV Shows can easily be done because you can mark a season as watched. Thank you..
  11. There used to be a tab in Libraries to setup path substitution, but now it's nowhere to be seen. Where did it go to? I can't find it anywhere and can't use external players without it. Previous: Now:
  12. Hi I'm having an issue with the system being slow to start playing the media. It doesn't matter what media I'm playing and according to the dashboard its direct playing. Emby theater is running on the server/same machine, but external machine have the same behaviour. I'm seeing this error in the log each time I start the playback( see below). It will play the media, but it typically takes 10-25 seconds to load. It doesn't matter if its the internal player or external player. Live tv is also slow to start compared to previous, but I don't know if the error also appear in the log or it just coincident. I have tried to access the media directly on the machine from the file exporer and it starts quick, below 2 seconds. So access should be there and the hdd should also have been spinned up. It looks like some kind of access error but it plays fine and I can access it in file explorer with the same user as the one starting the emby server. Any ideas what to try? The logs contain the following 2018-06-17 18:22:24.177 Info HttpServer: HTTP Response 200 to 192.168.3.187. Casting to multiple devices

Currently I’m trying to get a media server set up to play corporate messages and videos around the plant. I’ve managed to set up Emby a powerful Intel Xeon PC, and I’ve been able to cast a video file to one of our Panasonic smart tvs. However, this is not exactly the ideal situation. Ideally I want to be able to play a single folder, with multiple video files inside, and play it on a constant loop to the 8 TVs around the plant. Is this possible in Emby? Currently I’m only able to cast one file at a time, to one TV at a time...

    Is this a good build?

I'm wondering if this would make a decent server/desktop combo? It would be for emby & live tv and basic desktop use until I can build a new one. I thought about building a combo with the new amd ryzen chip but am not sure if its worth the extra money and how well will emby run on it compared to intel. I/m using my (4) 2tb hard drives and (2) 500 gig hard drives until I can purchase new drives. Trying to keep cost low and keep build efficient, I.m getting everything from newegg. Combine recent items

Currently the main screen and so on. Actual home, http://i.imgur.com/gLfMZlE.png I think that way it would get better. http://i.imgur.com/ahclsUi.png It would be interesting to *Home* like this, because it is easier to navigate on the main screen. I believe that with this little modification Emby would be much better. That's the idea for the developers. If possible, remove media information from the itemdetails.html. Thank you very much.

    CoverArt: Treatment by media source

Hi, I would like to know if there is a way to apply treatments to cover art by the media source. Currently, my library is configured as below:- \\SERVER\Movies \\SERVER\Movies\Blu-Ray \\SERVER\Movies\Downloaded \\SERVER\Movies\DVD \\SERVER\TV \\SERVER\TV\Blu-Ray \\SERVER\TV\Downloaded \\SERVER\TV\DVD \\SERVER\TV\HDTV \\SERVER\TV\SDTV CoverArt is configured with individual profiles for media source \\SERVER\TV\Blu-Ray with a specific treatment of... BD items will use the BD cover My files are named:- Name.SXXEXX.V:CO-A:CO.Q:A-V:SO.ext I was wondering if it is possible to apply the cover treatment by the V:SO (Video Source) in the filename?
  18. Emby is running on a Mac Mini. The content is stored in a Synology DS416j mounted over a gigabit network with 9000 byte jumbo frames enabled and working on both devices. The folder being watched by auto-organize is on the same NAS filesystem volume as the folders where it will be organized to. Auto-organize is set to move files rather than copy them. When new content is moved to the watched folder and auto-organized invokes, the content ingestion and file move/rename operation is immediate (as expected). For content that isn't automatically ingested because there's already an older version, the replacement content is copied and then the source file is deleted. Worse though, is that the first time I encountered this I had 200+ items being copied in parallel, and while the operation was running 170GB of content needed another nearly 170GB of filesystem space to perform the copy before items were being deleted. I move 100 1GB episodes of a show into the monitored folder. They're ingested and moved to the appropriate folders in less than a minute. Later, I get a set of those same episodes recompressed using a more efficient codec. I move 100 500MB episodes of the show into the monitored folder. They're all initially showing in blue in the Auto-Organize page. When I select the option to replace an episode, the item becomes yellow for several seconds as it's being copied over the network from the NAS to the Mac Mini and back again to the new location on the NAS, and then it turns green indicating it's been ingested. I now have two options: If I wait for each item to finish ingesting before I start the next item, I will need to sit at the computer for 30 minutes or more to ingest all these items one by one. If I go through the list as fast as I can, they all copying in parallel and the whole process takes even longer. I'm free to do other things, but now my NAS and network are saturated while the process runs.
  19. This specifically comes up when media isn't imported because it would replace something already there (and "Overwrite existing episodes" is unchecked), though it would be useful to see information about new imports. When an import would replace something already on the server, I run ffprobe against both pieces of content to see what the differences are. I'd like to see the information that's gathered about content when an item is imported next to the same information about content that's pending approval to overwrite it. The logic behind the decision over whether or not to overwrite could be something that later on might lead to new features around setting up rules for making decisions based on content information, but currently the person making the decision doesn't have enough information to make the decision manually. An info button at the end of the row in the Auto-Organize Activity Log page would do the trick. If content imported with no conflict, show just that, but for conflicting items show both sets of information.
  20. Greetings, I had my emby server worked flawlessly under Ubuntu 14.04 LTS. When I upgraded to 16.04 LTS, the package was removed. I reinstalled it from the official PPA and since, I get the following error whenever a media scan is initiated. Still, I would like to fix the problem. Anybody can provide some help with this? What actual parameter in what file is missing / misconfigured according to you? Thank you in advance, Sebas.

    Emby refuses to play files

I recently installed Emby as an OSS alternative to Plex on a headless Debian machine. The machine is a netbook, so is not particularly powerful, but should be able to handle it. I am able to browse the media libraries fine, however, if I attempt to play something, it simply fails, sometimes saying 'TimeoutError'. I have paid for the apps across all of my devices, so what am I doing wrong? Are there higher minimum specs than I expected? Thanks in advance, Robyn

Library missing from the Media menu

For some peculiar reason, my music library has disappeared from the main menu: I can get to the content of the library via the Home menu, but I must say it puzzles me why it doesn't show in the Media menu as it should.... Anyone with some ideas ?

Can't add media folders to library

Hi everyone, I just installed emby-server 3.0.5821.1 on Antergos and it's running. I've done the config setup but I can't add any folder to my library. When I go to library/Folders, all I got is a loading circle (can't get it on the screenshot but it's there and spinning) and no option to add any folders : I've waited and tried many times without success. I've joined the log to this post. Thanks. Log.txt

    Missing media folders in Photos

Hi, and Merry Christmas to you all! I run Emby Server version 3.0.5781.9, updated today. In the Photos section I have fodlers for every year, but Emby only sees a few of them. In the screenshot below you can see that Emby only shows three folders, and a file manager showing all the folders that are really there. All folders only contain subfolders and jpg files. I also attach the latest log file. Any ideas what's wrong? The Emby server runs on Linux Mint, and here it is accessed through Chrome on another Linux Mint PC. I have some other issues as well, but I'll start new threads for them. Log.txt

    ANSWERED Problem setting up libraries

Hi, I am in the process of setting up my first Emby server, on Linux Mint 17.2. I don't know if my problem is Linux related or what. The thing is, I have some serious trouble setting up my media libraries. I have my media stored locally on the system's main user, called "hpb". 3 main folders; "Musikk", "Bilder" and "Videoklipp". These are the normal Music, Pictures and Videos folders made by Mint. Within the Videos folder I have subfolders for movies, music videos, home videos and TV series. The TV series folder is so far empty. All folders and subfolders have 777 permissions. I have managed to make libraries for music, pictures and music videos, but I am not able to make any more. When I try to make the movie library f ex, I choose the content type and name, navigate to the Movies folder and click OK, the popup disappears, but no new library is made. This is making me kind of crazy. Also, it took several attempts to make the other libraries. Neither of them worked on first try. Any ideas? Edit: Out of desperation I tried to delete the empty TV series folder. And by some strange reason that seemed to help! I don't know why an empty folder should be a problem...
