Hi there, first time poster and relatively new media server-hoster trying out Emby for a few weeks. Love the UX and just recently upgraded to Premiere. Currently running Emby and Jellyfin simultaneously in docker containers while I transition. Having an issue with playing media when using DVDSUB/PGS (image-based?) subtitles. I am able to play videos with SRT subtitles or no subtitles just fine, but whenever I load a media file with DVDSUB/PGS subtitles it seems to hang and my logs get filled with errors. I think that my issue may be related to the one described in this thread . For further context I have tested with both the web and chromecast clients and the error persists in each. Additionally, when I play the media with the DVDSUBs in Jellyfin it loads just fine. ffmpeg-transcode.txt

Recently my Emby server (version 4.2.1.0) has been pausing and reloading some but not all video episodes in my library. I use roku, a homerun hd device for live tv and a secondary roku (older) in another room. The videos pause the loading message comes up after a few moments. I have switched rokus, replaced router and even the mobile apps do same thing. The live tv via emby freezes but the other roku apps are fine, no problems I did donwgrade one version to 4.2.0.40 but same issues. I am running the latest version of Emby for TV and Apple TVos 13 (beta). When I open Emby after using Connect to login, its kjust spins for ever saying 'Loading…'. I've restarted Apple TV, reinstalled Emby, disconnected and connect my router... nothing. Thoughts?

Hi, Since a week or so now Emby has been loading sooooo slowly (up to at least 2 minutes) on my two devices (Shield and RPi3) which results, I think, in it sometimes not even loading the subtitles correctly. Turning on/off subtitles or switching to the next one doesn't even work then and I'm forced to download new ones. I think the problem would be solved if it would load fast again, but I can't figure out what it is. Help? log.txt

Hi I'm having an issue with the system being slow to start playing the media. It doesn't matter what media I'm playing and according to the dashboard its direct playing. Emby theater is running on the server/same machine, but external machine have the same behaviour. I'm seeing this error in the log each time I start the playback( see below). It will play the media, but it typically takes 10-25 seconds to load. It doesn't matter if its the internal player or external player. Live tv is also slow to start compared to previous, but I don't know if the error also appear in the log or it just coincident. I have tried to access the media directly on the machine from the file exporer and it starts quick, below 2 seconds. So access should be there and the hdd should also have been spinned up. It looks like some kind of access error but it plays fine and I can access it in file explorer with the same user as the one starting the emby server. Any ideas what to try? I was trying to watch a blu-ray mkv file yesterday from yesterday at 6:58pm til 7:08pm (tried starting and restarting the movie at different transcoding settings) but the loading screen kept appearing during playback. Also got a http request error when trying to watch a dvd mkv file around 711pm Lastly, does Intel QuickSync still have an issue with transcoding timestamps? since i'm forced to transcode without HA currently. server log 9-25-2017 (12am).txt server log 9-26-2017 (12am).txt transcode log 9-25-2017 (701am).txt transcode log 9-25-2017 (707am).txt transcode log 9-25-2017 (709am).txt transcode log 9-25-2017 (710am).txt transcode log 9-25-2017 (712am).txt

I'm new to Emby. Everything works perfectly on my server. I can even use Emby in a browser on my server. But when I try to connect via Roku (or Apple TV) I cannot get past the Emby Connect step. After I enter my PIN, a spinning wheel pops up and spins indefinitely. The Apple TV also claims it tried to find my server on my network but failed. There's no reason I know of that it shouldn't have found my server. They are on the same network, and I have no fancy network setting or setup. Anyone else have trouble here, or know what I need to do?

I have messed with the stable emby, and the two most recent beta releases. My server is running Unraid and im using the official Emby docker. The server specs are Core i7 4790 with 32GB ram with a 5Gb/s network connection, allot of my media is stored on a separate Synology server that has a 2Gb/s network connection. Just as a reference I have Plex running using the exact same configuration and it is lightning fast. So the issue I am having is that 99% of the time I open the Emby web app, Windows 10 App, or iPhone app, it is excruciatingly slow. I'm talking 5-10min just to load the main screen, another 5-10 min to load any libraries as well as the TV Guide. Everything is just incredibly slow, or never loads at all. However some times it loads almost instantly, but this seems to be rare. Actually playing media, LiveTV, Movies, Shows, Music, is fast, no problems there at all, no buffering, no stuttering, and silky smooth. My libraries are tiny in comparison to the amount of movies many other users have on these forums, I talking maybe 100 movies IF THAT. The only plugins I am using are the Cover Art, and Collections plugin, but I was having this issue before installing them too. I have attached the two most recent logs. server-63639216000.txt server-63639262214.txt

I've been testing the playback quality and consistency for Recorded Media through my HDHOMERUN Connect. My roku 2 can play my local dvds and bluray files without any issues. However, I recently recorded a "Track and Field" sports program and it constantly buffers/loads every 1-3 minutes when I try to play it back on my roku 2. Emby is set to: -Convert to MP4 on the fly -Preserve original video & audio -Transcoding is set to "Auto" for the thread count -"Throttling" is enabled for Transcoding Roku is set to: -30 Mbps UHD for the Video Quality Stream (i changed this to 20 Mbps but with no effect) S7 Edge is set to -20 Mbps HD for the Video Quality Stream (also successfully tested this as 30 Mbps for the stream) Connection -I have a 50 Mbps connection and my roku 2 is wired to a gigabit Ethernet port on my Router. -S7 Edge was on a Wireless AC connection with a link rate of 400 Mbps plus Now I tried playing back the same "Track & Field" recording on my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge through the Emby Android App and I had no problems whatsoever. I was reading on similar issues reported and i'm thinking the issue might be because the roku 2 can't play back the native framerate so its still transcoding even though its in a streaming-friendly format but if that is the case, I want to know how to go about fixing it. The 1057pm file should be the roku playback log while the 1054pm file should be the S7 Edge playback log. 7-11-17 @ 1054pm.txt 7-11-17 @ 1057pm.txt

This issue is present for me on the current version of Emby server, not sure what version the issue began. I have not changed any of my server setup settings. The issue I am currently now having is accessing the Emby server and beginning to stream media, the full duration of the video starts at about 0:09 and gradually increases as watching. For example, if a video were to be 45 minutes long, when beginning to stream emby will show 0:00/0:09 and as I jump to the end the duration increases incrementally. This is very annoying especially if I am trying to seek through the playback or continue where I may have left off on another computer or account I have to have the video playing and continuously click the end of the video to expand my available seek. Looking for any help I can get with this. Its happening more frequently now, especially with newly added media content. I have tested on different browsers and client devices. Have attempted setting the quality to different levels, including auto, issue is present throughout all tests. This issue occurs when connecting inside of my LAN via HTTP and externally via HTTPS with the emby generated self signed cert. My server is running on Windows server 2008 R2 Virtual Machine 16 thread Xeon E5 2660 dedicated to the machine 8GB of RAM 12TB 7200RPM RAID 5 NAS for storage 70/70MBPS WAN and Gigabit LAN with a dedicated port on motherboard and switch for the VM. Maximum bandwidth for server is set to 35mbps via emby server management.

Hi, I'm having a problem when playing back video on my Roku 3. For the 1st 10-15 seconds the video will stop at least once (sometimes several times) and display the message "Loading, Please Wait" along with a loading status bar. I'm new to Emby. I tried messing with some settings but nothing seemed to change this. It almost seems like it is not buffering enough somewhere. My network is 300Mbps N. I haven't had this problem using other services but I don't think those services were transcoding to H.264.... I'm not sure though. I am using a new Synology DS916. Emby Version 3.0.8500.0-1. Log

Selecting play from guide causes loading animation that eventually times out
FordGT90Concept posted a topic in Windows & Xbox
Steps to reproduce: Start Emby Theater Click on Live TV Click on... Program under "Now Playing" and it works fine. Guide -> the title of the program that is on now -> Play and it shows loading animation but doesn't playback the program. Server log attached. I tried the latter at about 3:37 and 3:40, maybe 3:42 too. Then I tried the Former two times after that. Every subsequent test was the latter. server-63615369600.txt -
Okay for so for quite some time now I have been unable to launch the Emby Dashboard using the link http://localhost:8096/web/dashboard.html It seems to either not load at all or it will partially load and buttons will not work etc... I am able to get the server to load on Microsoft Edge Browser but I prefer to use Firefox way more... Anyways I was able to create a log in Firefox of when the issue occurred: http://pastebin.com/mXxBiAUi

Been using Emby Theater since it's release and finally decided to make the move to Kodi. I've installed the emby addon, done the initial sync of all my media, and have to say it looks gorgeous. Only problem I have is that a good chunk of my Movie posters and other artwork is not showing correctly when browsing the movie library in Kodi. It's as if the artwork half-loaded up and I can't figure how to get it to refresh or if that would even fix it. See attached. Any clue why this is happening? Or, how I can fix this? Let me know if you need any additional information from me or on my setup. Thanks in advance!

The Guide on Emby Live TV is excruciatingly slow to load and needs several page advances to get to some of the programming I want to tune. I knew I can set Favorites which show up at the top of the guide but sometimes I'm not looking for a Favorite Channel. I suspect that the guide needs to parse data from the internet each time i loads but could this be down with some sort of caching scheme to speed things up? I see this issue with the PlayOn app too so I think it is an issue with Emby that could be improved. Thoughts? Comments? Feedback? Is something in the works for this? I have no log to put up as I don't think this is something that will show in the logs. Thanks.

Before a video stops playing, I get the "Loading, please wait" message on the screen, similar to what others have reported. When I checked the server log, there is an entry waiting for the next .ts file, but it doesn't exist, nor is it listed in the m3u8 playlist file: 2015-03-18 11:27:04.8893 Info - App: waiting for C:\Users\Media\AppData\Roaming\MediaBrowser-Server\transcoding-temp\c1f49a88b916337905bab9c2a49fedc2833.tsHere are a few lines before that message: 015-03-18 11:27:03.2292 Debug - HttpServer: HTTP GET http://192.168.1.140:8096/mediabrowser/Videos/cf3d75f18b5b35930747c52a1e746a25/hlsdynamic/main/832.ts?mediaSourceId=cf3d75f18b5b35930747c52a1e746a25&maxWidth=1920&maxHeight=1080&videoCodec=h264&profile=high&level=41&deviceId=1MH361020127&ClientTime=1426677997&MaxVideoBitDepth=8&MaxRefFrames=8&AudioCodec=aac&MaxAudioChannels=2&AudioStreamIndex=1&AudioBitrate=128000&VideoBitrate=30000000 Ip: 192.168.1.11:56786. A strange thing has started happening whenever I start Media Browser Theater. The screen loads, but I don't get to see any media and then my server is disconnected. I downloaded the newest version of MBT yesterday because it hadn't been working as it used to. I've tried to start it half a dozen times but the same has happened. Any suggestions?
