Playback stops randomly in 1.05 release

Hello, the spouse has had no luck with the app on her iPad, even after getting a new one earlier this week. The MKV files are transcoded and stream just fine (i.e., the playback is not choppy, even at 20 MB/sec), but then the stream randomly stops. I reduced the transcode rate from "automatic" to 4 MP/sec and it worked for two episodes of her (current) favourite show, but then hasn't worked since. Shows can stop streaming after 4 minutes or as long as 40, but she is unable to get through longer episodes without stopping (the little busy indicator comes on). Trying to resume results in nothing happening, and starting from scratch sometimes works and sometimes starts two streams playing simultaneously (for audio, the screen remains blank), one at the stopping point, and one from the beginning. The server doing the transcoding is under light load and has the power to handle conversion in realtime, as far as I know. I see the transcoding bar below the playback bar as always running about 5-10% ahead, so that doesn't seem to be an issue. Anyone else experiencing this? Thanks.

    AAC 5.1 issue

Hello everybody, After updating to the latest iPhone version, I am receiving the below error (within and outside my network as well) when I try to play any mp4 movie that contains an 5.1 AAC audio. To give you an idea of my setup, I have converted all my movies to mp4 h264 and aac 5.1 so I can use the direct play feature with no problem. When I access my movies within the Samsung app on my TV, everything is working ok but from the iPhone it only allows me to playback aac 2.0 audio channel videos. Previously I was able of course to stream 5.1 in my iPhone without a problem. Naturally I am not going to add to every single film I have an additional 2 channel aac, as I prefer 5.1 cause of my home theatre system. I just need to be able to play them from my iphone as well (even though it won't be a real 5.1 through the phone, but that doesn't bother me). Strange thing is that my nexus tablet works fine with aac 5.1 audio so there must be something wrong with the iPhone app. Also to mention, I have the "allow video playback that requires transcoding" UNSELECTED as I had it before and that is why I have converted everything to mp4 and aac to begin with (meaning avoid transcoding as much as possible). Again, I had no issue previously and it still works with my android tablet so I can only thing that this is the iPhone's app bug. When I ticked back the transcoding option just to see what happens, I have encountered the "transcoding continues on server" issue from another thread below: http://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/28678-transcoding-contines-on-server-after-you-stop-video-on-ios/ so I really don't want to use that feature in any case if possible. Is there something I can do, to manually fix my 5.1 audio issue or I need to wait for another update? Sorry for the long message. Thanks in advance, George

    Playback not working

I'm having an issue getting playback to work in a fresh install of Windows 10 on a new PC. Playback from the web interface works, but Emby Theater 3.0.5744.24672 throws an error that appears to be related to some of the ComsObjects. I have tried the following: -Installed the latest LAV and MadVR -Deleted the ComsObjects folder and let it load back up -Removed Emby (clear out everything) and reinstalled it Not sure what the next step is. I have 2 other PCs that run Emby Theater fine and am unsure why this one refuses to play back from the same server as the others. Here is the log. Any help would be appreciated. theater-63585965252.txt
  5. Hi, I am pulling my hair out trying to get emby to even work any more. It was working fairly well until the past couple of updates then everything just fell apart. I have the memory leak that others have mentioned with emby tv. when I try to launch emby most of the time it will just clock for several minutes. if, and that's a big if I get into emby, tv shows and movies load very slowly. I select tv shows for example usually it will be a blank screen and tv shows don't show up, same thing with moves. and it takes about 30 seconds to 1 minute or more to load. when I select a show I have to sit another minute or more. most of the time I get a wait or close dialog box and no matter what I choose, I have to wait and just end up ending task. this all happened within the last few updates. as new versions came out it gradually got worse and worse. the only pattern I notice on all my media center logs is 5715,Error,,Error getting response from http://server which to me would indicate hardware issue, but I checked everything and nothing is wrong. I/o speed for the array is strong, the server never goes to sleep and neither do the harddrives. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the server and clients serveral times. no changes. Any ideas? I am really at a loss at this point. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! MBClassic-9112015683b39771f2342aca11262ea757f80c4.log
  6. Complete newbee here. Just installed Emby on Mac OS X (10.7.5). Set it all up (I think) and added movies. Using an Android phone to ensure things are working correctly, downloaded the emby app. videos thumbnails and details show up but every time I play them, the green Emby logo spins then gives me a "Playback Error". There was a error processing the request. The videos are .m4v codec.

    No update for plugin?

Hello, I was away for a few weeks and haven't had time to look at Kodi, but now that I have, I see my version is 1.1.13 while I see forum posts for at least up to 1.1.38. I have auto-update on, and I see Kodi checking, but nothing is downloaded, or installed, or changed. Has anyone else had this issue?

    Server not starting

Hi I have been using Emby for a while but yesterday the server refused to start. I uninstalled then reinstalled Emby server. However I am still experiencing the same issue. The web dashboard comes up with the following error : Unable to connect Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at localhost:8096. Log File shows errors in the server application. 9. Hi there, I'm running latest emby on my linux server, everything (more or less) seems to work fine, but my logs show some erros, see below and attachment, what can I do, what is going wrong? thx emby1.log
  10. So, I just decided to migrate to Emby. After installing the plugin's latest version from the official repository I tried to reset my database, only for it to spew an error. I haven't got the log saved, but it basically said 'File not found: userdata\library\video\Emby - S[garbage]ries', where [garbage] is supposed to be an 'é'. After changing the collection names to only contain default chars and resetting the addon settings, it worked normally. I don't know if this affects other aspects of the plugin.
  11. Hello, I have recently installed the Emby plugin on Open Media Vault however I'm not able to play a show I wish to watch. I still have the same issue. Does anyone have any suggestions?
  12. Hello, My Advanced Intros plugin stopped playing intros about a week ago. I tried uninstalling and re-installing, but it kept all my settings upon being added again. I uninstalled a profile and then tried to add a network location as a test, but the plugin cannot find anything: The network paths do not show at all. If I try to fill a path manually, I get this: I have not made any changes to the system other than updating automatically to the latest beta servers. The version of the plug-in is 1.0.4.0 and the server is 3.0.5667.6. My problems started when I uninstalled Kodi on one of the HTPCs but I cannot see how hat would be related. Anyone else experience this?
  13. I'm trying to connect to my emby server on my Android device and I'm getting the error "unable to connect to server". This is the same problem I was having before and could not access my server but when I turned my laptop on and connected to the server then I was able to access it. As of right now I have not done this and I was hopping I dont have to do this everytime I want to use my server on my android box. I would really like to get this fixed as I have been working on my server now for almost 3 weeks. Any help sure would be appreciated. BG

    Emby 8.1 Fatal Exceptions

Hiya, I work with ScottL, and am a big Emby fan. Love it!!! I got the latest Emby Win 8.1 update the other day, but today my wife and kids have been reporting that the app has been crashing a lot. I've attached for the logs for you, and from what I can see there's a null reference issue with GetMenuChoices that's causing a FATAL exception. Also I guess it's not the Win 8.1 app but I also noticed a number of Server 500 errors? Cheers, Glenn MetroLogs.zip
  16. So I have never used a program like this before but basically I just want to be able to stream my tv shows and movies from my desktop in the basment to my laptop upstairs. I have the server on my desktop and Emby theater on my laptop. The server says it's running and when I try to select the server on my laptop I get "There was an error processing the request". Any suggestions?
  17. Hello, After a recent rebuild of my HTPC, I reinstalled and patched the OS to Windows 8.1 w/WMC. All available OS patches were installed as of 4/25/15. When I reinstalled the Emby-WMC app (Version 3.0.262), it installed (apparently) with success, but even after a system reboot, the app will only bring up a blank, blue WMC window. Screenshot attached. I have included the install log, as well as the initial launch log. I have been unable to actually view the Emby interface inside of Media Center. The Emby Server application is running on a separate, network-accessible computer, and the Emby (Android) application is able to connect to it with no configuration needed (launch, and it's there). I included today's launch log as well; taken when I launched the Emby app to grab a screenshot. It's identical to the initial log. Network is configured for LAN-only (I'm not using Connect, or any cloud service access methods), and I haven't installed any antivirus on the HTPC as of yet (I will once I get this hiccup resolved, but no sense adding to the issue until then). Any suggestions would be appreciated. The log files seem to indicate that the application believes it's showing the initial welcome screen ("Hey, here's some new features, and welcome to Emby!"), but as you can see from the screenshot, I'm not seeing what it thinks I'm seeing.. mbc-install.log MBClassic-25420154f4bdd61239149178ff4e180d53c8094.log MBClassic-Msi.log MBClassic-29420152cd1a39a51534e32be564f6b1b98586a.log

    Emby Error

Emby threw out an error: Cannot handle exception "Job". Shortly after, all video playback stopped. I'm using the most recent beta. To fix this issue: Do NOT reset the server. Go to task manager and kill the task "ffmpeg.exe". After that, restart the server. Not killing the transcoding will disable all access to the web interface, via emby app or localhost.

    Emby Error

Hi guys, update my installation of emby from the old repo to the new one and something went terribly wrong. In the end i ended up wiping my distro and installing debian 7.0 from fresh. I have installed emby using the instructions at this link http://emby.media/downloads/linux-server/ Installation appeared to go ok. The first thing i noticed is straight after installation is the command 'service emby start' from the link above doesn't seem to work. i have managed to get emby to start by entering the /opt/emby directory and running the following command. Emby seems really responsive and fast. i went into user settings and selected 'remove user from login page' and selected Save. upon clicking save i got a message pop up that said guid should contain 32 digits with 4 dashes I have looked into the log file and it shows the following two errors. 2015-05-28 09:22:58.8034 Error - DtoUtils: ServiceBase<TRequest>::Service Exception *** Error Report *** Version: 3.0.5621.4 Command line: /opt/emby/MediaBrowser.Server.Mono.exe Operating system: Unix 3.2.41.42 Processor count: 4 64-Bit OS: True 64-Bit Process: True Program data path: /opt/emby/ProgramData-Server Mono: 4.0.1 (tarball Tue May 26 04:42:32 UTC 2015) Application Path: /opt/emby/MediaBrowser.Server.Mono.exe Guid should contain 32 digits with 4 dashes (xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx).
