Hi Using Kodi in conjunction with the Emby Trakt plugin and Up Next causes some hiccups. I only use one user for myself which is on my main RPi and desktop and also if I'm using my phone etc remotely. I want to keep this setup with the ability to continue watching on all devices. Would it be possible to add an option to exclude clients, in my case Kodi, from the Trakt plugin? That way I can scrobble with the Kodi plugin that shouldn't have this problem, but also keep scrobbling as usual with other devices and keep my library updated on Trakt. Thanks

Hello, There is a Kodi addon call "gdrive" from ddurdle who can read videos (original and transcoding version) directly from Google Drive. Why not build on this idea to integrate Google Drive as source directly in Emby Server ? In addition, Emby could generate automatically the STRM files from one or many Drive folders. And transcodings are already available with Drive so no need to transcode with Emby server. What do you think ? ------------- Three reasons why this feature will be useful and awesome: 1. Cloud is the future and today the cost is affordable. I have a Google Drive Unlimited for $50/month (ie $600/year) and I have unlimited space that is secured against crashes. Knowing the cost of hard drive and the cost of power consumption, its a very good deal. 2. Google Drive transcode video file. This provides different stream quality like Youtube (1080p, 720p, 480p and 360p) and the "image quality/compression ratio" is very satisfying. I can play 720p video on my poor 4 Mbits DSL. 3. You don't need to have a big server. Personally, I opted for a little dedicated server (Kimsufi 2G) for the cost and I can leave it run 24/7! Furthermore, me and my friends can watch movies from anywhere! Basics features that should be included: GOOGLE APPS OAUTH2 for activation and permission playing transcoded version (MP4 360p, 480p, 720p & 1080p) directly into Emby's app playing original file (avi, mkv, mp4) directly into Emby's app import embedded subtitles porwerful script module for multiple folder scanning and STRM generating

Dear community I'm using KODI + Emby (installed on my NAS) for many years now, but now my kids are more and more playing around TV alone, and when I'm not especially around, and I would like to secure a little bit then content they may have access to. I tried to set up a new profile in KODI, ok that's easy so far. Then I set up a new profiles in Emby, selecting the content depending on tags (like TV-MA, FR-16...). When I logg of my Admin profile in KODI and enter the kids profile, it's like the plugin emby for kodi is not even installed (I chose "separate" for content source)... I tried to recreate another profile but choosing then "share" option. While loggin into my kids profile, there is an error message of the plugin Emby for Kodi, and I have no content... Well I'm a bit stuck, I don't really understand what I'm doing wrong... Any help would be much appreciated Thanks !

Good evening, I have a problem with the ‘Emby for Kodi Next Gen’ plugin. The main problem is that it either doesn’t want to start playing and/or giving me a ‘Playback error’. My library only contains .strm files in which are paths to video files on a mounted Rclone drive (using RealDebrid and Rclone_RD). When trying to play these files there is no loading symbol the screen flickers a bit, screen goes black (almost as if it wants to start playing) but then instantly exits out and goes back to the home screen. I use the Kodi skin: Titan Bingie Mod (but tested multiple). I’ve ran multiple tests: . Playing the .strm files from the Emby WebUI and from Android works fine . When using Kodi’s base skin (Estuary) the video does eventually start playing . Running ‘Emby for Kodi Next Gen’ in native mode works fine (so the problem for me lies in Add-on mode) . I tried using .strm files that have the RealDebrid generated links directly inside them (so not linked to my Rclone mounted drive). These files do show the loading symbol, but sadly don’t start playing aswell. So since it does work (kind of) in the Estuary skin I thought it could have been the problem of ‘Titan Bingie Mod’. But like mentioned, native mode does work. Additionally, I tested Jellyfin’s Kodi plugin in addon-mode and this one works fine too. So maybe it’s not directly the skins fault but something else going on?

I have been using EMBY as media server for a long time. it runs on a Qnap ts-453be 8GB ram I use it for my DVD and Blue rays, which I watch on Apple devices Lately I started buying 4K Blue rays, and ripping them with makeMKV. But here is where the problem starts. So I have premium Subs and run playback from EMBY client apps or MRMC (KODI for Apple). 99.8% of content in 4K starts buffering or stop playback after some sec. in any EMBY player. AppleTV, Ipad or Iphone. I have tried with or without transcoding, By setting the user up to no transcoding. I have also setting EMBY server into MRMC, and here playback has no problem. All 4K ripped movies playback fine. Why does MRMC playback fine, but the EMBY client stutters and buffers? EMBY vs MRMC(KODI).pdf

Hi all, my setup is as follows: Router: AC 1200 Emby server: Windows 10 (i5 8gb) connected to router via 5 GHz Wi-Fi Client: Emby next-gen on Vero 4k+ connected via 5 GHz Wi-Fi (connected to lg soundbar via hdmi-in which is connected to LG CX via e-arc hdmi) I have mostly stable playback, but sometimes there's the annoying buffering/stuttering for high bit rate files (> 30 Mbps with peaks reaching ~100 Mbps). When I look at the send (upload speeds) on my windows machine I see the speed drops to <20 Mbps (even 10 at times). Is this likely because of interference (there are around 2-3 APs (5 GHz) surrounding me in close by channels (40-80 MHz)? I tried wiring the server/client to the router (router ports capped at 100 Mbps), this is more stable than Wi-Fi mostly, however there's still buffering on high bitrate files (for example on Psycho 4k remux with peaks exceeding 100 Mbps). Can I be sure that Wi-Fi/router is the problem? And would switching to gigabit router (and wiring both client/server) completely solve my problem? I'm attaching a few recent logs for reference. How and with which plugin can I easily access the movie (and series) bonus material (extras folders) of my emby premiere installation in Kodi 19.1? Am grateful for all tips and tricks. Access and playback of the extras in emby works without any problems. Thanks for your help in advance, Georg

Hi I have some questions about what to choose from; EmbyCon, Emby for Kodi, Emby next Gen or Kodi MediaImport. I have changed over to Emby from Plex this christmas, Emby looks great and think it works good. Not bught Premiere yet, not before I know things work as they should. My questions and needs are as follows: 1: I would like to create playlist in Emby web, and the should work in Kodi. (smart og not) 2: Would be great the other way to, but that I havent read anything about? 3: Watched status etc should go from Kodi to Emby and Emby to Kodi, and resume status. 4: Simple to set up, Plex just worked I think, in the setup. 5: If I add, change or move movies/series Emby send the new info to Kodi, in reasinoble time. 6: Thinks #Direct play" may be the best locally, because of the server capasity. What tot choose? Emby for Kodi, says it is not supported any more in the "Current Status of all Kodi add-ons", but if I searched the forums, I found "Emby for Kodi (next-gen)" that seems to still be under work and taken care of. And "Kodi MediaImport" should be very fast. But is that then just an fast version of something else? At this point I use "Emby Next Gen", seems to work. A little messi to find where the playlist was hiding, but found at last What will You use? The difference between emby and kodi about BDMV folder‘s *.nfo file location

For Blu-ray movies in the form of folders, emby’s nfo files are located in the outer folder, while other software such as kodi are located in the BDMV folder. The difference in the location of their nfo files makes them not universal, which is very inconvenient. I cannot use emby's nfo file in other soft. Is there a way to make emby's nfo files stored in the BDMV folder by default。

Bonjour à tous, Je viens à vous car j'ai pas mal de soucis de lecture vidéo avec l'application Emby sous AndroidTV. Ces problèmes concernent quasi exclusivement des gros mkv en 4k HDR, c'est à dire que la lecture commence normalement et après 2-3 minutes l'image saccade énormément (pas toujours au même moment), coupe et bien souvent revient mais sans HDR. Et quand je me rend sur mon serveur Emby (c'est un docker sous Unraid) je m’aperçois que le transcodage s'est activé tout seul. C'est d'autant plus étrange que quand je lis ces mêmes fichiers via Kodi ou VLC il n'y a aucuns soucis à signaler, le lecture se passe normalement. Que faire ? Edit 1: Je viens de faire un test rapide avec Plex (toujours en docker sous Unraid) et comme pour Kodi, lecture impeccable ... Edit 2: Avec Jellyfin, RAS aussi ça tourne nickel.

Hi, new to the forums and trying to get things figured out. I have read a lot about Emby as being a great solution to my media serving and streaming needs, I just have had some difficulty figuring out how to get it up and running and or if it is even possible. As it stands right now I have a WD My Cloud EX2 NAS storing and serving up my media to a series of Amazon TV FireSticks in my house through KODI. I was hoping to setup Emby to run on the WD and install the KODI addon for it in order to keep my media organized / up to date between devices. I can't for the life of me though figure out if it is even possible much less where to start. Does anyone have any experience running / installing Emby on the WD My Cloud EX2? I know you are able to install 3rd party apps manually on to it, is there a specific version to download and install? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello. I have installed the addon Emby for Kodi. I´m using some clients today connecting with Emby connect over Wan to my PC that has a vpn connection. Port forwarding for my vpn connection is working, but not with the addon Emby for Kodi. When trying to connect I only get wrong usernamne and password. I´m using: Kodi version 18.7.1 Emby Server 4.4.3.0 Using latest addon for Kodi (not beta, same result with beta) 4.1.19, installed from repository https://kodi.emby.tv/ See my attached logfile and pictures. /Niklas error.log

Hey all, New to Emby, having a minor bug. Audio when streamed to clients, have been using Kodi 16.01 (tested on 2 devices)(Kodi Emby plugin installed), Chromecast 1st Gen (FW ver. 1.20.66189), and a Samsung Smart TV Series 6 (DLNA), all have very low audio. I would say roughly half volume compared to when they are played via a shared network drive or via direct hard drive connect. (not using Emby). Emby server version 3.0.6400.0 running on MS Windows 10 build 10.0.14393 any help would be greatly appreciated Regards Jayden

OK so I really like the look and feel when using Kodi + Embuary Skin as the interface to Emby Server, which I am running in Windows 10. I could not find a great set-up guide, but managed to get it installed twice using this Youtube video: https://youtu.be/I8RsYObJb0Q by Ronnie Bailey. The first installation (with Kodi in Windows on my PC, the same one running Emby server) went fine, and looks like this (1st screenshot)., The second installation today (with Kodi on my Nvidia Shield) seemed to go OK, but after everything, it is not working exactly right. First, instead of seeing links to various episodes and movies on my home screen, it is mostly blank (or shows links to upcoming theater movies), and I have to go into the "Embuary" App. Then I can see a list of items like Favorite TV shows, Favorite Shows, etc - but clicking on them does not work. However if I click on TV shows (dynamic) and Movies (dynamic)- those work as I expect. Anybody know what I may have done wrong? Thanks in advance.

I had been running Emby on Windows Server 2016 for some time and watching movies and TV shows on my Mi Box S (MiBox4) Android box on Kodi with Emby plugin without any problem. Last week I migrated my PC to Windows 10 Pro and reinstalled Emby server on it, also did a fresh install of Kodi on my Android box to re-sync everything. Since then, it's been a debugging nightmare for me as no matter what video, large and small, high bit-rate and crap sd, video playback stops randomly every few minutes! First I thought that it might be my router configs (It's a 2.4GHz running at 40MHz wide channel 150Mbps N)... I kept playing with the configs, replaced DD-WRT with OpenWRT, then with the original D-Link firmware, then back to the latest version of DD-WRT; no matter what I did the videos kept stopping. Then I started messing with Kodi on Android's advancedsettings.xml's cache/buffer values, I even installed Emby's Android app, still the same, video drops randomly, sometimes with the "source too slow" message. I then came to my PC, changed the Realtek NIC's configs, Windows registry values, Firewall settings, routes, even reinstalled and reconfigured Emby numerous times, it even got worse! Now I come to thee completely exhausted and out of ideas, looking for help... Any ideas? Here's the most usual error on Emby's logs: 2020-07-20 10:20:55.583 Info HttpServer: HTTP Response 206 to 192.168.0.155. Stopped at 713000 ms I bet it's some kind of f*-up on Microsoft's side as I did not have ANY problem with the same PC, Router, and Box on Windows Server 2016 even with playing very-high-bitrate 30GB 1080p 4-hour movies! If it needs mentioning, there's no problem playing videos on Emby server localhost.

Hello. For some reason Kodi+Embycon have started transcoding every video file even the ones I already watched without any transcoding. I decided to check embycon's settings and for some unknown reason direct playback got disabled (it used to be enabled). I enabled it again but it hasn't helped. It suddenly started happening today like 15 minutes ago, for me and my friend who is using my server. Any tips would be appreciated. PS Kodi 18.6 Embycon 1.9.91 Embycon skin cloner 10.04 PPS If I disable "Allow audio playback that requires transcoding" and "Allow video playback that requires transcoding" then after it tries to transcode it, it starts playing it normally without using ffmpeg but with no subs( it can't burn them into the stream coz I disabled transcoding on my server))

I'm using Kodi with embuary on windows and see as well as the usual TV, movie, music etc hubs there is one for games which I assume is a native Kodi thing. How do you actually add a game to it though? I've tried clicking to add a game but when I navigate to a path containing either a game .exe or a shortcut nothing shows up to select in emby. How is it supposed to work, or do I need another plugin?

Hello, I have Kodi running on a NUC and using Emby for Kodi. Hello, First of all thank you for all the answers I found on this forum ( permissions on ubuntu, creating users, KODI integration and much more .. ) I am trying to use the DLNA feature of the EMBY app on my android phone outside of my network. I want to watch my movie on my friends smart TV. When I am on my home network (same network as my EMBY server) I click on the cast button on my emby app, I can see my other DLNA devices and stream the content. But when I go to my friends house, connect to his WIFI , start the application, I click on the cast button and I see the DLNA devices of my house not the DLNA of my friend. What am I doing wrong ? Hi all brand new to Emby (and EmbyCon) today and really getting stuck in and its brilliant! I have an issue that I have come accross that I can't seem to solve, that I wonder could it be a bug? When I scroll down the Movies listing (in All Movies under EmbyCon) Kodi crashes. I have two installs and both act slightly differently but are triggered in the exact same way. Result when the above is done: FireStick 4k - Kodi crashes and drops back to the FireTV menu Ubuntu 18.04 Server - Kodi service remains running and even shows under "top" but the TV switches to no source found (its like the HDMI has been pulled out but Kodi is still running) My Setup: Emby running under Docker on Ubuntu 18.04 server with Kodi Leia 18.5 frontend and EmbyCon installed from the Emby repo. Fire TV 4k with Kodi Leia 18.5 running and again EmbyCon from the repo. Hi folks, I'm a proud Emby Premiere user Sometimes when I start a movie, the 2 trailers play with no problem at all. After the second trailer, some movies don't start but returns to my movie library overview. Any idea why I can't play some movies ?
