Hello, with the M3UTUNNER plugin, currently when I put an m3u link, sometimes it accepts it and other times it doesn't and when it accepts it I can see content for up to a few minutes and it throws me out giving me the following error: Exception of type 'MediaBrowser.Common.Extensions.RemoteServiceUnavailableException' was thrown.

I'm starting Emby. I have Emby Premier. The problem I have is with live tv, since when I add my m3u list all the channels are loaded but they are not played. If I try the same m3u list in a player like VLC or another media player like IPTV Smarters Pro it works perfectly. attaching m3u list test. Hi Emby Team, Is there a way to have emby auto map channels from my iptv provider to the emby epg data? I'm using m3u4u to weed out extra channels and would rather not have a static m3u file but would do that if that was the only way. If not doable, do you think it would be possible to add a feature that we could upload a csv file that contains all the mapping information in it such as the guide source and channel numbers? Thanks!

Hello good, Having version 4.8.7.0 of emby everything was going well but suddenly on live TV I receive the following message when accessing a channel. "Exception of type 'MediaBrowser.Common.Extensions.RemoteServiceUnavailableException' was thrown." I tried it for several minutes and when I changed the M3U URL it told me that I couldn't access the TV provider but other times I didn't get the message. Later, when I finally didn't get any error message and I accessed the channels within a minute or so, I kicked you out of the channel with the previous message: "Exception of type 'MediaBrowser.Common.Extensions.RemoteServiceUnavailableException' was thrown." I updated to the latest stable version 4.8.8.0 and seeing that I was still having problems, I uploaded to the latest beta version 4.9.0.23-beta but it didn't solve anything. I looked at the server logs but I didn't understand the error, because of my nerves and haste I didn't review it much. I tried to uninstall/install the M3U plugin but it was still the same, so in the end I made a redirection to the emergency server with version 4.8.6.0 and in this version it has not failed so far so something from version 4.8.7.0 It must be giving me an error, I have several plugins to see the disk space, for user copies and some more for advanced options that in the end I never touch, the error has been from one moment to the next although it had already been running for days with 4.8. 7.0 so I rule out almost 100% that it could be the emby version. There are plugins that have been updated but none have been updated in a week so I don't understand anything. I attach a log with the error message. Thank you very much in advance for the help. 2024-06-06 18:32:34.783 Error LiveTV: Error in GetChannelStreamWithDirectStreamProvider *** Error Report *** Version: 4.9.0.23 Command line: /opt/emby-server/system/EmbyServer.dll -programdata /var/lib/emby -ffdetect /opt/emby-server/bin/ffdetect -ffmpeg /opt/emby-server/bin/ffmpeg -ffprobe /opt/emby-server/bin/ffprobe -restartexitcode 3 -updatepackage emby-server-deb_{version}_amd64.deb Operating system: Linux version 5.15.0-105-generic (buildd@lcy02-amd64-007) (gcc (Ubuntu 11.4.0-1ubuntu1~22.04) 11.4.0, GNU ld (GNU Binutils for Ubuntu) 2.38) #115-Ubun OS/Process: x64/x64 Framework: .NET 8.0.5 Runtime: opt/emby-server/system/System.Private.CoreLib.dll Processor count: 24 Data path: /var/lib/emby Application path: /opt/emby-server/system MediaBrowser.Common.Extensions.RemoteServiceUnavailableException: MediaBrowser.Common.Extensions.RemoteServiceUnavailableException: Exception of type 'MediaBrowser.Common.Extensions.RemoteServiceUnavailableException' was thrown. at Emby.LiveTV.TunerHosts.SharedHttpPipelineSource.OpenStream(IDisposable connectionContext, MediaSourceInfo mediaSource, String url, MediaProtocol protocol, CancellationToken cancellationToken, Int32 recursion) at Emby.LiveTV.TunerHosts.SharedHttpPipelineSource.OpenInternal(CancellationToken openCancellationToken) at Emby.LiveTV.TunerHosts.LiveStream.Open(CancellationToken openCancellationToken) at MediaBrowser.Controller.LiveTv.BaseTunerHost.GetChannelStream(TunerHostInfo tuner, BaseItem dbChannnel, String tunerChannelId, String mediaSourceId, List`1 currentLiveStreams, CancellationToken cancellationToken) at Emby.LiveTV.EmbyTV.GetChannelStreamWiembyserver-63853296226.txtthDirectStreamProvider(BaseItem dbChannel, String providerChannelId, String streamId, List`1 currentLiveStreams, CancellationToken cancellationToken) Source: Emby.LiveTV TargetSite: Void MoveNext()

Hello, I had a question regarding OTA Tv and the Emby server. I currently own a Tablo Gen4 tuner that is connected to the local network through WiFi. Would it be possible to use the Emby Server for live TV playback and recording live TV shows through Emby.

Hi Feel free to mark as duplicate if you think this is too closely related to the other threads on pooling channels. My suggestion for doing has different ultimate goals to the other ones I've found: - Suggestion to pool duplicate iPTV or DVB, DVC, DVT sources so they only show up as a single channel - Each "single" channel could have multiple sources siting in behind - Channel service/sources can be set in preference/priority - When you tune/play the channel you want if it hangs or buffers then tuner automatically failbacks to the next source/service until it finds a stable one to play Most iPTV providers are providing multiple back ups in case a channel goes down or buffers. This suggestion allows us to use the back ups without having to manually edit the XML File. TV Headend has this type of feature built in already so it can be done

I have a program that shows up in the recording schedule but hasn't been recorded in the past couple of weeks, although it was in the past. Is there any log where I can find out why, assuming some sort of conflict? (There isn't any obvious conflict that I can see) The logs seem to be about what Emby does, not what it doesn't do. Thanks

Since the latest update we have been unable to stream live OTA channels to our ROKU devices. The only change has been the update to EMBY. Our OTA is streamed through a HDHomerun Extend which has worked fine for years. The Roku simply shows the spinner as if the show were starting then doesn't actually start. The spinner continues to look as though it were buffering or something, stops for a second or two and you think the show is about to start but then it starts spinning again and never starts. To complicate matters the same thing is happening when I try to play a Live TV stream over the network to another PC in the house which I've never had a problem with. It fails outright on the pc the spinner doesn't keep starting over it just fails and kicks me out to the guide. Again to complicate things further when I try to stream to my iphone it plays just fine. This happens both through the house network and remote network. So something is preventing playback just to the Roku and PC devices in the house network. I am running the server on a linux box, headless. I only get on it when I have to do an update. I run Arch linux, so I will need to make sure there hasn't been some other update that broke anything on the system but I've never had a problem with this since converting to Arch on my server in roughly five or so years so I don't think I will find any issues there but I will verify that when I get the chance. The pc I am trying to view live tv on is also a linux machine running Arch. I normally maintain my server setup from this other unit and have no issues but since the last update live tv is now dead... The thing is if there were something strange going on with permissions or something then I would think I couldn't stream to the iphone as well as the pc's and ROKU's but that isn't the case. So I believe the server PC is operating fine and there is a change to the EMBY server app that is causing the problem... Recorded TV and the movie library stream fine. This is only happening with Live TV... I have attached the logs. The last four attempts at play back are a failed playback to a ROKU device, failed playback to PC, successful playback to iphone both local network and remote. I hope I get feedback as it stopped entirely on another thread I had interjected myself into as I am not the only one with playback issues on ROKU since the new update... Honestly, if it were just me I wouldn't know it wasn't streaming live tv I almost never watch it. However, my wife watches it daily, DAILY. In the morning getting ready for work. In the evenings for local news, occasionally other shows she likes available OTA. So you can imagine how often I am being asked if there is any progress on this... Please help if you can. embyserver.txt ffmpeg-transcode-27ff977d-0d5c-48ce-ac6c-b2b5fe0d20d0_1.txt

Hi, Please add to m3u flags: tvg-url - so xmltv guide data can be bound directly to a channel or m3u file, bypassing the built-in gui method
-
Hello, I have a few ideas for enhancements to the Live TV system. 1 Support for more headers in m3u files... eg.live (1/0) - disable/enable live stream flag, so play and seek controls can be enabled or disabled tvg-group - to set network/studio group of radio and tv streams for easier grouping tvg-url - so xmltv guide data can be bound directly to a channel or m3u file, bypassing the built-in gui method #bg-color and #bg-size - to alter the background color and size of the channel tile metadata display - eg. jQuery Stream, embedded m3u/8 comment, Icy-Metadata, Icecast CORS/ACAO headers. I have a ttached an m3u file which I tried to directly add as m3u tuner, but the server would not load it properly, possibly because it is one stream with multiple chunks ( also has metadata)... it can be called from another m3u tuner though. https://wz3web.scahw.com.au/live/3sea_32.stream/playlist.m3u8?listeningSessionID=5bdda753c87a2e78_303254_9A8QlPM3__00000001t29&downloadSessionID=0 #EXTM3U #EXT-X-VERSION:3 #EXT-X-TARGETDURATION:6 #EXT-X-MEDIA-SEQUENCE:40 #EXTINF:5.015,Lukas Graham - Love Someone fRjAPQ6Q9DEp-308311271-5015.aac #EXTINF:4.969,Lukas Graham - Love Someone lR52ZCSwo0Yp-308311272-4969.aac #EXTINF:5.015,Lukas Graham - Love Someone j6TateebXsLp-308311273-5015.aac tv (0/1) - enable/disable tv (must specify either radio or audio-only options if set to 0) radio (true) - enable radio-specific stream with rich metadata (only use if tv=0, can not be used with audio-only) audio-only (true) - enable audio only stream without rich metadata (only use if tv=0, can not be used with radio) 2 Add support for Icecast streams/tuners

Is there a way to default closed captions off on live tv? For some reason it always defaults to on when entering the stream. Even if i turn them off exit and re-enter stream they come back on.

Hi All. Looking for advice on the method under which emby creates an NFO and whether that behavior can be changed in the use case I'll describe below. I've recorded Live TV from NextPVR (with NextPVR Plugin). This seems to be recording correctly into its correct location with an NFO being generated. The NFO includes a PLOT tag with details that appear to be coming from the EPG stream. I don't know if NextPVR or emby is creating this NFO (although that's not really my question) although I suspect emby. The media is saved as TS, the NFO with the same filename. All seems correct. TS files aren't streaming well and following other posts in this forum have selected the Recordings folder to be converted, leaving the original, and to convert new content as it arrives in the folder. The conversion of the media seems to work OK with -tv added to the filename, but the new NFO is missing the PLOT details in the tag - the tag is there - just nothing in it. There is a whole heap of other tags and content in the new NFO although nothing seems to come from the initial NFO. Does/can emby take any of the existing content from the existing NFO, and then just supplement this with additional from the conversion process? Not sure I have an actual issue here so haven't posted screenshots or logs, but can. Pete Emby Server 4.8.0.80.

Server: Docker on Unraid Version: Latest LiveTV method: Using TV everywhere thru ChannelsDVR Issue: Guide disappears on xmlTV Hi, I just started using LiveTV. Currently using ChannelsDVR to pull the content available online from Comcast. I currently have the Emby Guide enabled first, but not all channels were identified (ie CNN International and many others) that are available for my subscription. I tried a couple different zip codes around me, but I continued to get the same guide thru emby. I went ahead and added the guide from channelsdvr as a secondary, and it automatically matched the missing ones to that one. I can fix it if I hit the refresh guide button, but again that only lasts a couple hours. The problem is after a few hours, the guide for that disappears. I have checked thru the webapp as well as thru android on the phone and its missing on both for those channels. This is the first time setting livetv up for me so perhaps I misconfigured something. embyserver (1).txt

I have a few IPTV subscriptions that I use and I have used an editor (ie: xtream editor, epg.best) to create custom channel lists). I setup the nextpvr plugin to bring one list into Emby and another using the m3u plugin. My issue is that the channels from the 2 separate lists are getting combined into one huge list in EBMY. Is there a way to separate them so I can see just the ones from Nextpvr and then the ones from the M3U plugin.

I have been an Emby user since way before it was rebranded to Emby. I have come to love Emby Live TV, and I sadly only recently found the plugin VirtualTV. I have been a Samsung TV user for a long time as well. But I have noticed Samsung TVs are stupid slow and buggy. I have also noticed Emby for Samsung in the Live TV section is horrible. 60% of the time, I get Incompatible stream even though it works fine on the web client, and about 15% of the time I play even a mp4, I get the same error. And with VirtualTV, it's probably more like 95% of the time. The interface is slow and laggy, etc. (not trying to dog emby here - I am referring to the Samsung TV and Emby both). My question is for those of you that have used multiple brands and types of TVs, which one would you say works best with Emby Live TV? It looks like the major contenders are Android TV and LG. Would love some input since we are building a house and likely to be buying new TVs!

Good afternoon, I´m quite new to Emby, have been using Plex for a couple of years but decided to try out Emby because the support of m3u tuner. The guide shows everything right, the correct channel mapping and logos but it is not able to get tvg-shift from my m3u or/and xml link. I know it´s correct because i´ve tried it in stand alone IPTV-players and Jellyfin, but Emby does not get the correct timeshift. Is there someting I am doing wrong or is this even supported? According to the support site for "m3u-tuners" Emby is able to use those tags and show correct timing. Sincerely, Ivan

Hello, I would love to be able to multi select live tv channels in the set up screen and drag and drop several channels at the same time to modify the sort order. For example: Original list of channels: Channel A Channel B Channel C Channel D Channel E Channel F Channel G Ability to select channels D, E and G at the same time and drag and drop them after channel B for the following result: Channel A Channel B Channel D Channel E Channel G Channel C Channel F Thanks for your consideration!

Hi, Recently, (don't know exactly when) Live TV will not record 2 channels simultaneously. It does not matter whether they are Scheduled or Manually started. The first channel records just fine but the second channel does not start, ever, even after the 1st recording stops. LiveTV provides a dialogue confirming that the second channel has been scheduled and the red recording dot appears in the guide. It also shows up in the Scheduled page as being recorded. It just never actually starts recording. Also, If I am recording one channel and try to watch a second channel, I get a "Playback error, no compatible streams..." msg. If I Stop the 1st channel recording, then the 2nd channel plays - and records just fine. I have tested my Hauppage USB Twin Tuner using its own software (WinTV 10.0.39009 with extend) and I can record one channel and watch or record a second channel simultaneously. It therefore appears that Emby LiveTV is having an issue. Log attached. thanks Jordy embyserver(2).txt hardware_detection-63823998082.txt

Tv guide date, recorded show sorting and program description issues
danarm posted a topic in Apple TV
Hello, 1. The date on the guide is still showing January, however when you go into the dropdown to choose the day you want the guide to show - the date shown is correct. 2. There seems to be additional text on the program description when using the 'information' option from viewing live tv screen. 3. From the live Tv home screen and selecting the recordings tab there is a 'messages.unknown' text on the sort tab and when you go to sort the recordings you get a 'There was an error processing the request etc message. tvOs: 16.6 (20M73) emby: 1.7.6 (1) Also wondering if we'll be able to see other info on the program guide in future app versions? e.g. parental rating, new or repeat programs and if a recording/ series has been scheduled etc. -
Hi there, I have a 250 channels that I would like to add all to one channel group. The m3u I import, so unfortunately I can not work with a m3u editor. Is there another way that I can assign these channels all to a channel group?

I've got the Pluto TV m3u stream working inside of Emby and the channels show fine (for the most part). I initially loaded a corresponding xml guide file to accompany but because Pluto doesn't do a 1 or 2 week guide outlook (guide is only good for 8 to 24 hrs) I don't think it is updating very well. Many of the channels do not show guide information for what is currently on. Is there a good (or better) source for the xml guide to Pluto TV that someone might have found or available? Any info would be helpful. Thx

Is there a way for us to select the source of where emby is grabbing the logos for live tv? It looks to be currently scraping it from the XML guide data and I need to swap it to the m3u file.
