i have the same problem.. whats a remux? for some reason whenever i fix one library, another gets the error

Added a dedicated GPU to the server, intel arc a310. I have not disabled the igpu on the amd5600g. Emby seems to have identified and chose the a310 just fine in advanced transcode settings. I have installed the complete intel driver packages afaik. Certain videos won't play in web browser on LAN, neither direct play or transcode, but play fine on nvidia shield tv pro. For the transcode I attempted to play a video with the rate set at 720p/1mbps. Hi, I've been running Emby for few years on a Lenovo m910q Tiny attached to a QNAP with 32To for storage. Never had much performance issue until I started downloading anything in HEVC 10-bits. The i5 6500-T can't transcode with hardware so the process ffmpeg is killing it. I'm considering buying a Mac Mini m4 basic configuration (16go ram & SSD 256). I would like to have some feedbacks on Emby server on Apple Silicon, is hardware acceleration 100% operational ? Is mounting a network attached drive stable ? I've seen some posts fews years ago saying there is work in progress to manage the hardware on apple Silicon but haven't seen much update since then. Thanks

When using the TV "Display Mode" to view the details screen for a Music Video, the current layout is not optimal for this type of library item. It is displayed more like a movie item where the expectation is a vertical primary image and a backdrop image. Music Videos typically have a square or wide primary image and no backdrop similar to a TV episode. Indeed, if you get metadata from the IMVDB (or add it manually like I do), then you get an square or wide primary image and no backdrop. Without the backdrop the view looks empty and the information organized strangely on the page. TV Mode Music Video details screen (with metadata): By contrast, the Desktop and Tablet view get it right. The information is properly arranged for this type of library item. Desktop and Tablet view for Music Video (with metadata) I primarily use the Roku AP for my TV emby interface, and up until recently the music video details screen was similar to the desktop view above. Now, the view is displayed as the in the TV Mode which it seems to have inherited from the webap/server design. I suggest that the TV mode display for Music Videos should use the general layout from the Desktop mode for this library type.

Hello I am on the latest Emby server version: 4.9.1.80 and have Emby apps installed on my iPhone 17 Pro Max and M5 iPad Pro both running the latest versions of the app (version 2.2.44). I noticed recently that when i play downloaded content versions of my TV episodes I no longer get the 'SKIP INTRO' option or the ability to see video thumbnails when i scrub through the video timeline. Both of these features work fine when I play the file from the server so it seems to be that the downloaded files are not including the correct information for me to skip intro and have thumbnails. This used to work fine in the past when playing downloaded files so hopefully this is a simple fix? Any thoughts that could help to solve this issue would be massively appreciated! Thanks

Pretty simple suggestion. I have multiple users for my Emby server. If I want to do continuous maintenance on the media, I have to tell everyone. some of them are harder to reach than others ( i.e. no Facebook or Skype chat etc. ) It would be great if say... on the admin panel, I could hit a check box that enables 'maintenance mode', where the server still runs does everything as normal, but instead of the login screen it displays a maintenance page saying the server is unavailable. Even better if I were able to directly put a reason in a text box that would then display on the login screen as well. Not really sure what others would think of this, but for me it would be quite helpful. mostly if I want to make sure no one is trying to access content I know won't work until I've done a full library scan again. Hi! @Luke, I am very disappointed with this latest Emby server upgrade. 1. The library scanning function has become unreliable. It now ignores .ignore files in directories and still adds media files that should be excluded. 2. The hardware transcoding option, which worked fine in the previous version, is now broken. The Intel QuickSync HD Graphics 610 option no longer works, forcing the system to use software transcoding. and only the VAAPI HD Graphics 610 interface allows for hardware transcoding. 3. There are also problems with the filtering feature. When filtering for unwatched content, some watched items are incorrectly included. I cannot tolerate this new version and have already reverted to version 4.8.11.0. I no longer have the energy to participate in the improvement of your product. I apologize if there's a good trouble shoot comment on here, but I just can't seem to find it. While traveling my Emby app on my iPhone stopped connecting. I think it had to do with my daughter accidentally unplugging the router at the house and resetting something maybe? They plugged it all in, internet is back, but remote access stopped working. When manually trying to connect is says Unable to Reach (****Server Name***) I have my server running on a Mac mini version 4.7.14.0 I had port forwarding set up through my century link router/modem which connected to my google mesh router. Both the CL router and Google Mesh have port forwarding set up. Here is what I have done since. (My local network works perfect via WiFi) 1. Reset server/shut down server 2. Removed server and re-downloaded it onto Mac mini- this created a new Remote WAN access- which I've tried to use to no avail. 3. Restarted both CL router & Google Mesh. Deleted port forwarding and re-applied it 4. Checked my network settings - remotes access is turned on, enabled automatic port mapping 5. Disabled UPnP on Google mesh router to see if that helped- it did not I'm using 8096 for the Port - setting is TCP as well (it has been this the whole time and worked great until I lost the connection) There is a new version 4.9.1.80 it says but I'm nervous trying to download it and not quite sure how to honestly reinstall it- when I click on the link it gives me three options for MacOS macOS 10.14+ X64 macOS 10.14+ ARM64 (M1, M2) macOS 10.13 I don't know what version is the newer version. My Mac mini is older (2014) and running on macOS Monterey Any help would be GREATLY appreciated, I do have Emby Premier (not sure that matters)

So I use a Linux box with Docker install for Emby server. Approx 50% of the viewing is from a local device -- as fa as I know I have never had any issues like the following. I have users that use the server form many remote locations. It is a mixture of watching recordings and LIVE TV. My son got a new Firestick and started telling me that "Emby doesn't work". I have finally had time to troubleshoot as I am at the remote location. If I watch Emby from my laptop from the remote location there seems to be NO problems. However, if the remote location accesses the server from a Firestick - a problem only occurs with Live TV. If we play a certain channel it seems to work properly for a while but any manipulation of the Firestick, like checking "Stats for Nerds" or even eventually just time -- the screen goes blank and the Firestick locks up. But the weird thing is that I am no longer able to acces the server from other devices remote OR local -- in other words the Firestcik locking up causes or coincides with the server locking up. The only way to recover is to stop the docker container and restart it. I have some logs but I am not sure that I really see anything that sticks out. Can someone please help. When I connect to the Emby server through apps like VidHub or Infuse, I can quickly search for the target movie. I want to achieve fast searching for target movies on the Emby server using EmbyCon + the Embuary skin. How can I do this? I noticed that searching with Embuary is very slow. Another plugin, Next-Gen, states: "For synced content, you can use Kodi's search function, and this should be the preferred method. 'EMBY DYNAMIC: Search' is for content lookup directly on the server." How can I achieve fast searching on the Emby server using EmbyCon?

So i decided to do some investigation. Setup Server CPU: Ryzen 5, 5600G GPU: Nvidia RTX 3060 (12GB) Drivers: 576.88 OS: Windows 11 Pro (24H2, 26100.4652) Emby: 4.8.11.0 Client Streamer (chromecasting to our chromecast): Server PC, (Chrome 138.0.7204.184) Device: Chromecast gen3 Receiver: JVC RX-5052 (AC3, does NOT support EAC3) Display: BenQ Projector (1080p, non-HDR) Investigation I tried 3 different videos with different formats. I change the HW encoder and decoder settings, and then play the video to see if it works. I have an active Emby Premier subscription. Hello everyone! I'm thinking in build a media server using emby, I wan't to have the lowest energy cost so I could leave it on all the time. MVP Idea My idea is to use a RPi 4 with 8GB of ram but I have seen in the forum that it has some decoding and encoding problems but I really don't know what that means in this context, I know the file should be encoded to be playable but my videos are already playable so I don't know why emby needs to encode them again. Also I have found this thread that says the raspberry pi could use hardware encoding and this reddit post that says the same but with a lot more steps. Future of the idea (could ignore) Also I'm thinking of use this server as a personal cloud using owncloud so I could have my media and another files on demand. Hi, Is there a way to force user preferences (Home Screen & display customizations) to everyone ? - I'd like all users to have the same theme and accent color and activated backdrop, I can't even edit that user by user, I feel it's saved on each app or web browser but not on the server directly... - I'd like to custom the Home Screen arrangement for everyone to have the same, at least when they access their account for the first time then they can edit it, so far I have a template that I'm duplicating but I have too much users to edit who have been created before this template and it's a hassle to clean everyone. I love the additional subfolders for Movie Extras (eg, Shorts, Scenes, Interviews, etc.)! I would like to propose an additional folder: "Galleries". Within the Galleries folder the user would place subfolders (only one level of nesting) and each subfolder could contain any images the user chooses. Then, Emby would display the subfolder name as an Extra (in Emby Theater) and opening that extra would launch an image gallery of the containing images. For example: Movies\Disney\The Sword In The Stone (1963)\Galleries\Scrapbook Movies\Disney\The Sword In The Stone (1963)\Galleries\Film Facts "Scrapbook" is what would be listed among other Extras in Emby Theater, and the Scrapbook folder contains various images to be displayed in a slideshow that the user can navigate with their left/right arrows. Hi I have an old but reliable installation of Emby running on Windows Server 2011 since 2015. The fact that it has just worked means I have ignored the fact that the OS is now well out of date and Emby will no longer update after version 4.7.13.0. So I have to bite the bullet and upgrade to Windows 10 (server won't support 11). The disks where my Media files and Metadata folder are installed are using Drivepool and will jump back into life when they are set up. However, all other Emby files are C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Roaming|Emby-Server which seems a strange place for them to be. Is there a way to keep the Emby configuration and users as they are now and avoid setting up the server from scratch? If so how do I go about it. I have backup and restore plug in installed but I'm unsure if this will be all that is needed. Thanks

When will there be a new update for the server version? There have been no new updates for several months and the same applies to the Android version. And will there be native support for Zidoo, especially Z9X Pro, at some point? So that you can use the emby player instead of the external Zidoo player. P.S. I am an emby Premiere user and would like to see more progress in further development.

My xbox series s no longer recognizes my server subscription while my roku has no problem. It's current. Also, the splash is annoying.

I setup what should equal eastern standard time on emby during setup. However, the time displayed on the server is about 4 hours earlier than it should be. Where in the hell do I change the time to correct it. It would be nice if when it shows me the movie would be over at 5pm it is showing the correct time. HELP!!!!

I run Emby on my DS223j Nas and a Win 11 PC. Emby reports my server needs updating from 8.0 to 10. It instructs me to download the update (which I did) emby-server-synology72_4.8.10.0_x86_64.spk Now it tells me to stop the server. After I stop the server, how do I update Emby on my NAS??? The update file does not open saying to pick a program to open it. I spend 2 hours searching for a simple procedure explaining how I update the Emby server! Is this some secret operation? Why is there no help on the steps I do to simply update my server? Any help would be appreciated.

Dear forum! I installed emby for the first time today and found the configuration quite easy. There is one problem I couldn’t figure out though. I have two folders I added to the libraries. Tv shows and movies. Both are imported, the tv shows are displayed as expected. The movies folder seems empty though. Only if I go into the movies folder and within again into „folders“ I see the movies. Any idea why this may be the case and how to change that?

I like listening to my music through my roku/emby setup. However, I don't need to know how the artist is while listening. I was wondering if there is some way to set up a virtualization like on windows media player? I can wait and my roku will go to it's screen saver, but I would like to make a choice. Or even display the lyrics on screen, all of my music files have the lyrics embedded.
