Hello, I would like to express 2 problems that I encounter with Emby using Google Drive as storage. The first problem encountered is that emby seems to send a lot of requests or consume a lot of data, because I easily reach the quota in recent days. My 2nd problem is that by closing rclone after a certain time some of my libraries no longer display its content due to the fact that rclone is closed and the content is no longer accessible. I am concerned that reloading data once rclone reconnect requests a lot of data. I would like to understand then which options I should select when creating a library to avoid these 2 problems. I'm trying to setup auto organize on my Movies folder. I can't seem to get it to work. My movies download to the temp location: /Media/TempData/TempMovies I want them to be moved to /Media/Movies/ I've told it to create a subfolder per movie and gave it the pattern(%mn (%my) as well as the movie file pattern(%mn.%ext) and tell it to move and delete empty folders. When I run organize it fails for every movie in the folder. It always has the same error : Unable to find movie in library matching name For example: I have /Media/TempData/TempMovies# ls Raiders.of.the.Lost.Ark.1981.720p.BluRay.DD5.1.x264-EbP/ Raiders.of.the.Lost.Ark.1981.720p.BluRay.DD5.1.x264-EbP.mkv Raiders.of.the.Lost.Ark.1981.720p.BluRay.DD5.1.x264-EbP.nfo /Media/TempData/TempMovies# I get the error Unable to find movie in library matching name Raiders.of.the.Lost.Ark I've even tried creating the folder path in the destination and still doesn't work. What am i Missing?

Direct Play not working with TS files on Shield TV, works with other devices and on Plex

Hi I am using a combination of Plex and Emby to record from my Homerun Duo onto my PC. All the files record as TS files, which is what I want as the conversion to an MP4 of interlaced material is horrible. TS files can retain both progressive streams and interlaced streams and a combination, so I want to stick with TS. I've just invested in a Shield TV and was going to make a choice between Emby and Plex as I don't want to keep paying for both. My issue is, all TS files layed on the Shield in Emby end up transcoding (Direct Play error). This ends up slower, but also converts them and deinterlaces them which I don't want. Old 90s shows which I record a lot of do not look good. It doesn't affect newer progressive shows so much. The same files on Plex alwats play directly and seek really quickly. Just for comparison, I tried the Emby and Plex apps on my Samsung TV and they both use direct play for these files, it just seems that it's Emby on the Shield that doesn't. After investing £150 on a Shield I want to be using it and the experience geneanrally is quicker than using the apps on my TV. I know that there has been talk in the past about problems with seeking on TS files in Emby, but if Plex can do it and the Samsung TV Emby app can do it, why can't the Shield TV do it? I'm leaning towards keeping Plex at the momnent which is a shame as there are many parts to Emby that I prefer. -
Ever since the latest updates my Collections have disappeared from My Media. How do I restore them, if possible? Thanks in advance, Bill

The application is very good but some adjustments are missing. For example, when you exit the app via the back button, it ends the music playback. If you want to leave the app using the back button, because it comes back on all the screens you have entered, as if it were a browser and not a player. -
Hi @Luke @ebr, I was wondering with your recent new update to 4.6.50 whether you have included the new direct support for live tv via tuner cards without additional software (e.g. MediaPortal, WinTV etc)? As the changelog doesn't mention it, but doesn't mean that it isn't present. As it may be an unlisted change, anyway I have tried to find the release announcement for the new version as it may be mentioned either way in that post. But it doesn't seem to have been written and published yet could someone please answer me on the situation with this question please? Thanks, MrGrymReaper

This is quite an unusual request, I'm asking for a way to name 1 file containing 2 episodes that are not adjacent to eachother For example: S1E01-06 will be episodes 1 THROUGH 6 S1E01+06 will be episodes 1 AND 6 Is that possible?

Hi, I can not run VAAPI on my server. My server is on an i5-8600K processor, OMV 0.4 4.1.17-1 installed. EMBY is placed on DOCKER EMBY works great except for VAAPI. Please help me how to run it. ffmpeg-transcode.txt embyserver.txt

Hallo, kann man die Emby App am Samsung TV ändern, dass das Vorspulen wie z.B. auf Netflix funktioniert? Dass man auf der Zeitleiste die Stelle auswählen kann, wo man weiterschauen bzw. vorspulen will? Ansonsten muss man ewig die zwei Pfeiltasten drücken um an die gewünschte Stelle zu gelangen. LG

I have installed and run the setup for the OS5 version of emby and updated the operating system on MyCloud EX4100. The operating system doesn't have an easy setup for making emby work correctly. I have reset it several times and changed the SSH and DLNA settings trying to access the port emby opens "8096", nothing works. When I try to configure the app in the MyCloud device Mycloud opens a new browser window using the "8096" port, and the page opens saying the server returned an invalid response. and never responds correctly. Please Help, my entire video library has been transferred to the MyCloud. I need to get some sort of access besides direct connection.

Hi everyone. I have found a (Issue and this needs enhanced) because i have a friend who have downloaded a whole TV show to my mobile because both of us have the same Phone name and looks like than emby allow to see everyone devices as connected to emby through the list of downloads to device option let me explain in other words How I supposed to know wish iPhone is mine and the other 2 is my friend, as you can see there are 3 iPhone in the list because the devs don't have isolated it. I'm my moms tv with her accounts same thing (all device is listed) As you can see in above picture, I can allow to download my movies to any device from other users, it should have a isolated device list per users Like my computer and my smartphone and etc (My own devices only) .. But not showing me the device from others like my mom devices, it should be isolated between accounts (My user can download to my own device) (My moms can download to her device) I really don't understand why the devs don't have isolated the list by user. Like I have described above. Hopefully this will be fixed soon because is a security issue user may not be able to view devices from other users. Resume to do. Isolation between device account to don't allow users to download by mistake to a device from other users, so by this way the device is isolated by accounts and the retrieved(return or resulted) list was only the device from that user and not from the other. Hi, I have created this in the hope it helps others. It isn't very detailed but hopefully enough information to be helpful. Thank you. My setup: Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS (I would prefer if this said CEntOS but that's another story) TurboSight TBS 6280 DVB-T/T2/C (SAA716x dvb adapter) Docker (I don't think this effects my guide much below but worth mentioning) Emby (emby/embyserver:latest version on as of 9th January 2021) Tvheadend (linuxserver/tvheadend:latest version on as of 9th January 2021) docker-compose.yml Install required software (Ubuntu, TBS drivers, docker, docker-compose) Check DVB adapter exists $ ls /dev/dvb/ Install required Docker images/containers (see attached docker-compose.yml) $ docker-compose up -d http://tvheadend:9981 (setup Tvheadend) Configuration > Start wizard > Language (save and next) > Access control details (either on this screen or after the wizard create a user with the username * and no password (see attached User login.png) Tuners and network (configure as required) Assign Predefined Muxes to Networks (configure as required) > Scanning (save and next) > Map services to channels (configure as required) > Finish http://emby:8096 (setup Emby) Settings > Live TV > Live TV > TV Sources > M3U Tuner (http://tvheadend:9981/playlist/channels.m3u) Settings > Live TV > Live TV > TV Guide Data Providers > Guide Data Setup (configure country as required) and Guide source: XmlTV > File or URL (http://tvheadend:9981/xmltv/channels) Settings > Users > Access > Recordings Notes: Recordings made through the Tvheadend interface are separate to recordings made through the Emby interface. If I haven't mentioned a setting, chances are I haven't changed from the default. Multiple screen shots are attached to help clarify some steps. The M3U link can be tested in VLC media player: Media > Open Network Stream > network URL: http://tvheadend:9981/playlist/channels.m3u The channels link can be tested in an internet browser by pasting the link into the address bar. http://tvheadend:9981/xmltv/channels I hope this helps someone docker-compose.yml

Hi guys! I recently bought the new Chromcast with Google TV (Android TV) and it was a blast! The system fluidity speed is amazing. I just decided to give a better look at the app banner of Emby so I generated a APK launcher for the Emby Android TV app and I think it's a better fit in my opinion. I'm a graphic designer since 7 years now so if you need something else just ask!✌ PS: I have the Emby logo in vector, that's why. The app banner size is 1280px × 720px and the green color is the same as the Emby symbol logo. Cheers!

Important Update Vacuuming is built into newer server versions. Please see here: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/75510-42032-vacuum-database-config-switch/ So I recently had the problem that Emby took forever to show any Channels when switching to Live TV and was generally slow. I'm using a HomeRun Expand with approximately 350 channels. Keep in mind I have already tried disabling any plugins I'm not using without any success. Reading through some forum posts I fould a fix that has seemed to improve the performance of the loading by quite a bit. On https://www.sqlite.org/download.html you can get the sqlite3 utility seperately. You can find it under "Precompiled Binaries for Windows" under sqlite-tools-win36-x86-xxxxxx.zip So what you can do is just run that command in a cmd. The easiest way to do this is to shift+right-click in the folder you extracted sqlite3.exe to and klick "Open command window here" and running the commands as following: Make sure to stop Emby before executing the query! sqlite3 %AppData%\Emby-Server\programdata\data\library.db "VACUUM" sqlite3 %AppData%\Emby-Server\programdata\data\library.db "ANALYZE" sqlite3 %AppData%\Emby-Server\programdata\data\library.db "REINDEX" After that you can restart the server and hopefully enjoy some faster browsing. I have also created a script that automatically stops, cleans up the database and starts Emby again. Useful if you want to create a scheduled task that does the work. Make sure to put both scripts as well as sqlite3.exe in the same folder or alternatively adjust the Parameters in the reindex-embydb.ps1 file. And keep in mind to run the script with the user Emby was installed with. Hallo Problem: habe die Filme Die Fliege (1958), Die Rückkehr der Fliege (1959), Der Fluch der Fliege (1965), Die Fliege (1986) und Die Fliege II (1989) so und diese werden in eine Sammlungen zusammengefügt so weit so gut. wenn ich jetzt aber ein scan der bibliothek mache wird immer eine neue Filmreihe von "Die Fliege Filmreihe" hinzugefügt und das bei jedem scan so komme ich bei 20 scans auf 20 Filmreihen usw und muss diese dann von hand löschen da sie bei einem erneuten scan automatisch wieder neu erstellt werden/wird. hat sonst noch jemand das Problem ?

que tal buenas tardes. desde hace un tiempo he tenido un problema, ya que en el emby server dejo de aparecerme la parte donde dice "acceso en el hogar" y por lo tanto no puedo conectarme en otros dispositivos. ya he intentado borrando el servidor e instalandolo de nuevo, incluso instalandolo en otra computadora pero nada me ha servido. a alguien le ha pasado algo similar y que lo haya podido solucionar? muchas gracias

Hi everyone I'm looking for the best way to notify my users of content being updated. Currently, I've configured in the notification the "Content Update" and then installed the app "E-mail notifications" that sends it out. Apart from being a PITA to configure (you have to do it for every single user), it's a bit spammy (one email per file) and it appears to only send out a max of 2 per library update (unsure if this is a bug or the account being blocked to avoid spam like behaviour). Ideally, it would send a single email per library update with all the info in it. In a perfect world, it would actually populate a sort of internal newsletter, that the user could subscribe to. Ex: User A, ticks the box for media folder 1 and media folder 3. Does any of this already exists? How are you doing it? Thanks!

Hey all, New to Emby, having a minor bug. Audio when streamed to clients, have been using Kodi 16.01 (tested on 2 devices)(Kodi Emby plugin installed), Chromecast 1st Gen (FW ver. 1.20.66189), and a Samsung Smart TV Series 6 (DLNA), all have very low audio. I would say roughly half volume compared to when they are played via a shared network drive or via direct hard drive connect. (not using Emby). Emby server version 3.0.6400.0 running on MS Windows 10 build 10.0.14393 any help would be greatly appreciated Regards Jayden

I am trying to watch a tv series and am on the second episode. However I cant watch it properly because the auto aspect ratio cant be changed while casting to chromecast making it impossible to watch this episode while using Emby beacuse of the video being squished to half its normal size. I have confirmed it does play normally with Media Player Classic and the aspect radio isnt changed until I use Emby to play it. This wouldnt be a hug deal if the option wheel icon actually worked while casting. As such I believe a hotfix should be in the works. Also I cant seem to find the option for turning auto aspect ration of in the regular main options menu when not playing a video to be able to turn it off. I may be overlooking it though. I can change the aspect ration when not casting and thought it might be a quick fix if I did that and than cast over to my tv. But once I did the aspect ratio auto changed back to the squished video. Ideally Id like to use Emby to watch this episode but am unsure what I can do to fix this if anything and may just have to cast it from media player classic just to get past it. It does however bring up concern this could be a problem in the future. I have previously made a similar post about the option wheel not working while casting to chrome so I suppose this can be combined for a continuation of that Bug Report. Regards.

Hi! I'm requesting the feature to be able to use the video timeline in the player for the Emby app on Samsung SmartTV, we are not able to to forward or backward a video so can you put the feature on? I know there is a new version of Emby for Samsung SmartTV (Ver. 1.0.84) since 3 days but the feature is not in. Thanks! Greetings, Brandon

Hi I use a program to automaticaly download Youtube Videos, is there a way to auto import the metadata like description to emby. Specifically download the thumbnail, set the video description in emby like on the original video and maybe set the viewercount as rating. Are there any solutions that could achive that?

Hi I just added my library from downloaded youtube channels to emby, but it tries to add every video to a season and is really buggy. pic 1 I tried the library type mixed, home videos and pictures and musicvideo. This happens only with 7 channels the others are how it should be pic 2. I have one folder called Youtube and for every channel a subfolder. I havent added anything to the videonames like S01E02 or sth How can i turn off season sorting for the whole library Thx

Hi How can i change/remove/add the buttons when a video is playing? I would really need a way to add videos to a playlist while they are running. (Music videos running in random mode and when i like it just klick to add it to my "I like" playlist) at the moment i need to stop playback and go back to menu and search it by name. So is there a way to add the more settings button "button.btnMoreCommands" from the normal menu to the bottom of the player? pic one in the blue circle. It would be also fine for me to replace an other button such as Pip that i dont need. Or is there an other way to easy add the video to the playlist while playing? Thx

I was using Emby 1.0.81 just fine and I upgraded to 1.0.82 today and it's not working. I can see the emby logo and that's that, I can't login, nor do I see any other prompts. I am using a 2016 model samsung TV (UA49K6300) Steps I've taken : 1. Power cycled the TV 2. Reinstalled apps, deleted and reinstalled too. 3. Tried different USB, redownloaded and copied the files again. 4. Waited 20 mins for the splash screen to pass. I don't know how to get log from tizen so I can't It can't even go to login page so server log will be useless. I grabbed a screenshot but that's that. Can I find the .zip file for 1.0.81 please ?
