Hi Guy's, To be clear this is only with the webapp and presuming this is due to HLS caching problem since there is some proof in the console. Seen allot of threads in this forum about pausing video maybe this might solve a few more of them. So playback stops randomly (faster with higher bitrate content, which makes sense) and error's out in the chrome console with the errors in the attached screenshot. The only thing that helps is restarting the video, unpausing is not an option since HLS already errored out. Also checked my transcoding settings etc. But even without transcoding this happens. And with transcoding I can trick the webplayer with lower bitrate content to keep playing. Oh and I noticed that "H264 encoding CRF" had noticeable impact, I always had it on 18 but going higher (now on 30) helps with this issue. (Or its a placebo effect since I can't measure when the buffer runs out) Now I've done some digging towards the solution, and I know this is close to blasphemy but here is the link , since it contains a possible solution to the problem.

Playback freezes every 10 minutes or so - using Emby 4.6.7.0
PeterEr posted a topic in General/Windows
I have a weird problem. Some days I can watch movies for 6-8 hours without a problem. Other days, Emby on Samsung (Tizen) freezes playback after 10 minutes - and to fix it, I have to 'wake up the pc' by pressing a key on the keyboard/moving the mouse every time 10 or so minutes has passed! - love the exercise but after 8-10 runs I get tired Notes: The PC is not at sleep, not hibernating, screen saver is turned off etc. For some reason, Emby goes to sleep and 'wakes up' if the mouse moves / keyboard pressed. Google yields no solutions. Using Emby 4.6.7.0 Emby for Samsung 1.1.06 on a Samsung Smart TV (UA49RU7100KXXA). Connection between TV and PC is a Wifi router - Netgear AC1750. Strong signal. Running Emby as a service via via NSSM - the Non-Sucking Service Manager (nssm 2.24-101-g897c7ad (2017-04-26)). Thinking it could be related to certain file formats or the NSSM service perhaps, but then again that does not explain why it does happen all the time. Last movie played has these characteristics and then it Emby froze. Nothing out of the ordinary (many other movies do the same)... Any help / troubleshooting appreciated. I have noticed that my regular video content unpauses after 60 seconds. This happens on both the streaming stick and premiere +. Any ideas? thanks, René

So I switched from Plex a while back as I prefer the way Emby handles my media and the plugins. But no matter what setting I pick I can not get stable playback of anything remotely. My internet connection is 400mbps/40mbps so that shouldn't be the problem. When playing from within the network with the windows server I have no issues and can play back anything in full quality. But when streaming it will only play for anywhere from a couple seconds to maybe a minute before it pauses, then continues. The pauses may be a second or 2 or may be 10 or so seconds. Regardless of how low I turn the settings it will not play without pausing. For music it is the same. It doesn't mater if I set it to 2mbps, 320kbps or auto. It is the same result. I want to continue paying to support the project but it has basically been unusable for me since I got it. I should note that chrome playback on my phone is maybe a little bit better than the app, but it still does the same thing. My phone is an LG V20.

Hi, I am having a couple of playback issues on Xbox One. 1. Remote users are having issues playing some movies. Trailers play fine, but as soon as the movie starts, is pauses and stutters. 2. Local user (me). Watching tv shows, I have the same issues as remote users with movies, the first episode will play fine, but after the following episode stutters. I have attached the logs. server-63626256000.txt ffmpeg-transcode-78826040-b2df-47d0-92ae-b540314ce645.txt ffmpeg-transcode-b2af8472-5f6a-42b1-8aba-3bbd5d0fb2fb.txt ffmpeg-transcode-e9288225-4cce-49ba-8273-2b0e5f660971.txt server-63626215162.txt ffmpeg-transcode-967cfbe1-a16b-466b-993b-9164af1b6483.txt ffmpeg-remux-aae6faa7-e958-4fe3-bd66-a97f93b51960.txt ffmpeg-remux-e92f4e20-0896-4e89-825c-859eb71b3c02.txt ffmpeg-transcode-c8cf8c17-5135-4c46-a672-6e4b7f138f28.txt ffmpeg-transcode-e53d6eb9-2354-4841-869b-27d7f916f103.txt ffmpeg-transcode-b9443812-6f94-4e3d-99ef-ef8512d46fcd.txt ffmpeg-transcode-cab539ac-7156-4e4f-920a-52114c7142e9.txt ffmpeg-remux-4505b659-7594-41bd-bc1a-46a73c6192a6.txt ffmpeg-transcode-955ee7da-0afc-4038-a1cb-1752b3fb78d4.txt ffmpeg-transcode-878161c9-90c7-4d9f-980b-a1361cf5b3a2.txt ffmpeg-transcode-b282c271-3dce-4839-8375-b6245b322edc.txt ffmpeg-transcode-a5bdf132-5913-4f32-83c8-a068020f6e03.txt ffmpeg-transcode-83bc11fe-b0be-41b0-b397-bbf44dc2134e.txt ffmpeg-transcode-111fe852-e274-4983-810b-70db4e8589df.txt ffmpeg-transcode-63087841-b0c7-413a-a949-a72be0449b1c.txt ffmpeg-transcode-fc254cd6-a688-4347-a968-fff5d1a42c6f.txt ffmpeg-transcode-3a4632e5-d89f-4091-a94d-d2b72fcfe86f.txt ffmpeg-transcode-17128f8e-9634-4d12-ae62-748bbe141026.txt ffmpeg-transcode-d588a594-71df-410b-ae6a-9b0a840c2d7e.txt ffmpeg-transcode-1e97a083-6432-49ff-a90c-e7618ac195b8.txt ffmpeg-transcode-3f20e3c5-12fc-4218-89bd-11e92ae105a2.txt ffmpeg-transcode-32d8775a-2a87-4afb-b282-16be695b6a6f.txt ffmpeg-transcode-41e4aab0-ea2e-4c50-9680-ca74e63d7b8a.txt ffmpeg-transcode-48d23ffb-fb95-41d5-8216-72247459869f.txt ffmpeg-transcode-054577c8-91f9-444d-8048-aaf3ca21bde9.txt

I am on Emby Server 3.0.6400.0. Upgraded today and this problem existed before the upgrade. I upgraded thinking it might have been related, but I guess not. Essentially, during playback the video pauses itself every 10 - 20 seconds. It's not just a freeze. If I look at the video status it is truly paused. Then it plays itself again. I have tried wireless and over Ethernet. Same result. I don't notice any difference between playback client (AndroidTV via Nexus Player / Nvidia Shield, Android, or PC Browser) I have included the logs but i'm not seeing anything very telling. Please let me know if there is anything else I can pull to investigate. I have included several logs. The only error I'm identifying regularly is pasted below. Howdy all, During the last two weeks whenever i go to hit play after pausing a media item i get the error: Video Error There was an error playing the video I do not have any VPN services running, ever. It's been occurring for the past few weeks. I changed from the stable release to the beta and the problem still persisted. I have tried firefox and it happened there also. Actually, firefox seems to be worse as i cant seem to resume any films, or start them without the same error. Other users in my household are not experiencing the same problem. Another user reported this problem also: http://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/35722-video-error-after-resuming-video/?p=342850 thanks for the help/additional info

Hi, Lately I have been receiving an error when ever I go to resume a video (After pausing the video...not closing the video). I get the Error: Video Error There was an error playing the video. When this error appears, it instantly restarts the video from the start. Using the seek bar to get back to where I was at can sometime make this error re-appear. I have found closing the browser to be a temporary fix. I have provided the 3 most recent log files and a screenshot. Chrome 51.0.2704.79 m Thanks.
