  1. on chrome i have always play subtitles on
  2. baby555

Subtitles take a while to appear!!

It also happens to me in the current version 4.8.3.0 They don't show me With SRT subtitles (SubRip) With ASS subtitles The LG TV does not show them, Samsung TVs take more than 1 minute to show them, and in each episode you have to pause it for 1 minute so that it shows it to you... The same in Chrome and Edge, and sometimes Edge doesn't even show them ... The only devices that do get subtitles instantly are Android cell phones and Android TVs. Before Emby had this problem, but in an update at the end of 2023 they had corrected it, but in this update 4.8.3.0 the error in the subtitles returned

  4. i can't manage to get the intro skip feature working i did as the fouram said that i went to my tv-show library and added a marker as a scheduled task and went to scheduled tasks and scanned for intros then went to playback and made it ask to skip intro but still nothing is working
  5. Hello, As I try to play an AV1 video file from a portable windows server version of Emby that has both : Opus Stereo (french) + Opus 5.1 (english) audio files, the Opus 5.1 track doesn't plays on either Google Chrome or Emby for Windows (Store version). Even though it says both tracks are running "passthrough" I'm providing the logs. I was considering purchasing a lifetime licence for Emby when the "watch together" functionnality will be out, but ran in this Opus 5.1 issue, hope it's something on my end ! ffmpeg-directstream-51c08aed-c433-4a55-a1e9-7f5e49487cb1_1.txt

Stuttering during Playback of Movie. 0

Hey, i am having an issue with playback of this file. Attached videos show what im seeing, and the load on the servers network card. The file works fine, i can direct play the video without issue (via Windows Share and using VLC). I cannot however force transcoding because 1080 is limited to a minimum of 4Mbps. Ive narrowed it down to an issue with Chrome (Version 110.0.5481.78 (Official Build) (64-bit) ) as the issue does not exist in Firefox (v109.0.1 (64-bit)). Is there a setting i can adjust here to correct this? 2023-02-12 20-08-19.mkv 2023-02-12 20-09-46.mkv
  7. There seems to be an issue with playback on mobile devices after the device sleeps. I did the test in the video above on my iPhone using Safari connected to cellular and using a domain that points directly to my public IP(not cloudflare). I've included multiple log files. The 3 transcodes are the logs that were created in the test in the video. 1 other person brought this problem to me. They stated the following happens in Safari, Chrome, and the Emby application. The problem is seemingly random when it comes to file types. MP4, AVI, MKV were all found to have the issue. So I don’t think it’s the file types. They do notice that when you lock the phone, then resume playing, shortly after is when the problem comes up Anything stick out in the logs? User error somehow? Ugh I can't seem to figure this out. ffmpeg-transcode-edfdc2bb-a9b5-46d6-97ed-5e27ced0df93_1.txt embyserver.txt ffmpeg-transcode-2c53cdde-30e8-4f82-9797-93f62a09f46e_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-f4c20c42-3364-4ee8-ace2-eccad60366a7_1.txt
  8. Hi, I seem to have the same issue now. Everything was working fine until few days back and now the same loading screen indefinitely spinning and eventually after several minutes (only in some videos) there is an short play of video but then paused indefinitely. I tried to enable hardware acceleration from my server PC (TS140, 12GB, with NVIDIA GT720) to view in Sony Android TV. I am also an Emby Premiere user. I will appreciate if you could share the resolution with me so I can also try. Thanks in advance.
  9. Emby server: 4.7.0.60 Client: Chrome 101.0.4951.67 I know this is something minor compared to other reports, but it used to be I would see the dashboard under the left pane access under admin. Now it only shows metadata manager. I can still access the dashboard thru the settings button on the upper right, but was wondering if this is intentional or if it might just be a misconfiguration on my side.

    Browser DirectPlay Codecs

Hi Everybody I looked for it a bit, but unfortunately I wasn't able to find it. I'm looking for the list of codecs and file formats that each browser can read by DirectPlay and ones causing DirectStream. I need these because I use Emby at home and I only play my stuff on my TV that support almost everything but not my computer (when I'm in my bed) that plays via browser (Chrome). Is there someting there that I missed ? The best solution would be a compatibility matrix like that Video Codec Sound Codec Playing x264 MP3 DirectPlay x264 AAC DirectPlay x264 DTS DirectStream x265 all Transcode Cause, untill now, when I download someting, I re-encode Audio with AAC, and video to x264 to ensure DirectPlay will occur, but is there a better Audio Codec ? No matter the bandwith here, cause all plays occur via LAN or WiFi... Many thanks for your answers
  11. Preface All of the media I'm testing have previously worked flawlessly in the current environment. Meaning my network topography/speed has not changed. I cannot say for sure when this problem began as I rarely need to use a browser to access my Emby personally, however I had a user report issues a few weeks ago. I gave it very little thought until I had reason to use a browser recently and I ran into problems. Problem Recently (within the last few weeks), Emby playback within my web-browser has begun giving me the following error: Testing I have tested with various browser on various machines with results as such Ubuntu - Chrome: FAIL Windows - Chrome: FAIL Ubuntu - Firefox: FAIL Windows - Firefox: FAIL Windows - Edge: SUCCESS I have deduced that this happens for all Matroska contained media as far as I can tell. Container WebM w/ VP9/Opus codecs works correctly. I'd have to really go fishing for other types of media to test as my libraries are 99.99% Matroska or WebM. Logs NOTE: Firefox actually attempted transcoding, though still resulted in the same error. I zipped the result transcode logs for each occurrence, though I know they will not be helpful for debugging this. 20180926-Emby.Server.DEBUG-Ubuntu.Chrome.v69.0.3497.81-1.log 20180926-Emby.Server.DEBUG.Windows.Chrome.v68.0.3440.100-1.log 20180926-Emby.Server.DEBUG-Ubuntu.Firefox.v57.0.1-1.log 20180926-Emby.Server.DEBUG-Ubuntu.Firefox.v57.0.1.zip 20180926-Emby.Server.DEBUG.Windows.Firefox.v62.0.2-1.log 20180926-Emby.Server.DEBUG.Windows.Firefox.v62.0.2.zip 20180926-Emby.Server.DEBUG.Windows.Edge.log UPDATE -- 20180927 -- Official Embyserver Docker Container results -- 20180927-Emby.Server.DEBUG-Ubuntu.Chrome.v69.0.3497.81-3-1.log UPDATE It appears I may have opened a duplicate post from someone else with a similar problem (though to be fair, when I searched I did not find it as their topic is very misleading) https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/63309-docker/?p=627055 Also at a glance at their log, their ffmpeg doesn't even start, whereas this is not my issue.
  12. I am running Emby on a FreeNAS server and yesterday, I went to watch a movie and when it started, I noticed the Emby player controls were at the top of the page. I clicked on the full screen button and it did not work. So I tried all the buttons including the volume slide bar and mute function. None of them worked. I opened Emby in Microsoft Edge and everything works as it should. Was there a recent Chrome update that would have caused this and if so does anyone know of a fix? I have attached a screen shot of the top of the Chrome browser.
  13. I am unable to scroll down when logged in I go to Live TV and either when I use the keyboard down button or scroll bar on the right it bounces back to the top and does so repetitively no matter if I hold it down. Furthermore I am unable to select the password field in some occasions when attempting to log on. It works fine from another computer but not this one.

    Issue with Chrome

Server: Unraid 6.8.2 Running docker version of Emby. M/B: ASRock B75 Pro3-M CPU: Intel® Xeon® CPU E3-1225 V2 @ 3.20GHz Memory: 16 GiB DDR3 Kernel: Linux 4.19.98-Unraid x86_64 Problem: When using chrome and playing this specific file, it loads for a long time, then plays something for a fraction of a second and goes back to main menu. I tried re-starting chrome, yet the issue persists. I tried watching the same on firefox on the same system, and it worked just fine. Normally I would just go and try to get a different version of the file, but figured best to post here in case it may be a more widespread issue. Other files seem to be ok. embyserver.txt ffmpeg-remux-4676798a-da55-4289-b8c5-736aacafdfc1_1.txt
  15. Hi, everything was working fine but a week ago emby web (localhost) chromecast streaming stopped working. I get the Emby logo on TV, when I press play I see a circle going around indefinitely. I can't think of anything I did last week that could have caused this. I run EmbyServer on a dual boot MacBookPro, with a separate EmbyServer installation running under Catalina (with which I have no problem streaming to Chromecast), and one under Big Sur beta 7 (with which I have this problem - but it did work until last week). Since this problem appeared I have updated to the latest version of Emby which made no difference. My Chromecast works fine with other apps. Network setup is as simple as could be. I see two error reports in the logs. One is "PortMapper: Error creating port map" (the router indicates that the ports are open and enabled). Second error in logs is "Failed to start UDP Server". See logs for more details. MacBookPro - macos 11.0 Beta Chrome Version 85.0.4183.121 (Official Build) (64-bit) Emby 4.5.1.0 I'm not very technically proficient. Would very much appreciate any help. embyserver.txt

    Chromecast

Hey, all -- I have just a few videos that won't consistently Chromecast. Messing with rate settings and such hasn't helped. I'm running ArchLinux with Emby Server 4.3.1.0 -- I've tried a bunch of different client devices, including an Android phone, Arch laptop, and Windows. The client doesn't seem to matter. What's fun is that it's specifically Chromecast with these files. They'll play back fine in the Android app and web player, and most of my files Chromecast just fine. I've attached the Emby log statements from one attempt, and here's the file metadata. testcase.log metadata.txt
  17. I'm having an issue when I right click on an item it brings up a black screen and nothing else. I have the same issue on Brave. I've turned off my browser extensions and it still happens. I tried Firefox and it works just fine so I don't know if it's a plugin issue or a chrome issue. It's only after selecting something, the menu comes up just fine, it's just after you've selected something like metadata or identify.

    Glitchy Chrome on Mac OS

For a while Emby in Chrome has been all... um.. glitchy. It works just fine for the most part. It plays songs and video just fine. But the interface flickers, as does the browser itself. The toolbars, the omni bar, etc... I've linked below to a video I uploaded to Youtube showing Chrome, then Firefox on the same computer. Firefox doesn't have the same issue. And Chrome on Windows 10 doesn't have the issue. Anyone see this before? I don't have many plugins going. https://youtu.be/Y3ixxiAouLA

    Cannot see chromecast from Chrome

Hi, I am out of ideas. I can cast to my chromecast from the Emby mobile app, either from ipad or iphone. On PC and Mac, in Google Chrome (updated and it is not a dev version) the chromecast doesn't show up in the list of devices. On the same PC or Mac, I can cast to my chromecast from youtube or any castable website. In the Chrome's menu I can cast to my chromecast, but notbfrom within Emby web app. I am not using a VPN. My server is not located on the local network, I access it through internet usual port. Suggestions much welcome as I am new in the Chromecast world. Cheers.

    Chrome will not resume

Hi, Just moved over from Firefox to Chrome, Now cant get emby to resume video it just seems to buffer, On local network or Public, It plays from the start in Chrome, and will resume in Firefox Chrome Version 79.0.3945.130 (Official Build) (64-bit) Any help Thanks embyserver.txt ffmpeg-transcode-636cec64-0467-47a4-aa06-fedf88a927cd_1.txt
  21. Browser: Chrome App: Emby Web 4.3.1.0 Problem: This isn't a big deal for me, but its just odd and figured its best to report it. If you look at the Capture.jpg, you can see a bar across the middle where the screen and even the resolution seems offset. Its basically like the top and bottom half of the screen aren't rendering at the same time. I tried with Edge and didn't experience this problem (remux file attached). At first I thought it might be because I use Muximux, but opening the window direct yielded the same issue (btw. on a related note, if you use muximux it shows as transcoding but using a dedicated window actually goes as direct streaming, not sure what triggers the difference). What I think are both remux logs are included for those but I'm not 100% certain (so there are actually 3 that I found, probably hit refresh at some point). ffmpeg-remux-2d17a94d-f18f-49b8-9796-996a772db2f7_1.txt ffmpeg-remux-775f39dc-0e71-4261-ab40-25f712995e58_1.txt ffmpeg-remux-49d226fe-a5aa-42f8-b335-7077b0f3a2a2_1.txt ffmpeg-remux-23eac18e-822e-4431-8ebb-c38fabc01020_1.txt
  22. Hi! I run Emby Premiere v. 4.3.0.30 on a Synology DS918+. A beloved video freezes under certain circumstances. At 6 min 11 sec mark it freezes never to be recovered again. The only way is to start from scratch but it still freezes at the same time mark. I can skip forward for up to two minutes without a problem. Any more and the video freezes beyond saving (except starting over from scratch). This happens no matter if I have Hardware Acceleration on or off but it does so only in Windows 10 1909 with Emby Theater v. 1.1.276.0 and Google Chrome v. 78.0.3904.108. When using the Android app (Emby for Android Mobile 3.0.87) it works near flawless and I can skip forward in the video without a hiccup. Any idea what might be the reason for this? Would you be helped with some logs (if so, please specify which one/ones) or anything else? Any help on this issue is much welcome. Thanks! //Sebastian PS. 23. I have a .STRM file and have disabled transcoding for the user. In the dashboard the content shows up as direct played but it is evident this is not happening because there is massive stutter. I looked in the log files and Emby is still using FFmpeg to transcode it even though it should be direct play. I am using Emby Web Client on Chrome.
  24. Hi .. empy web using Google Chrome: the ASS subtitle style works on both but .. I have installed the same font that used at the subtitle on Win 10 and macOS. Chrome macOS shows the fonts correctly Chrome Win10 shows different font Please see the attached screenshots for both. ----- emby Version 4.0.2.0 Lunix Ubuntu server 16.04.5 Google Chrome Version 73.0.3683.103 (Official Build) (64-bit) - Windows 10 64bit Google Chrome Version 73.0.3683.103 (Official Build) (64-bit) - macOS 10.14.4 logs files are attached Thanks log_mac.zip log_win.zip
  25. i haven't watched emby on my pc for sometime so i haven't noticed when it changed but i recall firefox used to play my videos via directstream instead of transcoding them. two things may have affected this but i am not certain: 1) recently W10 Build 1903 update (a few days old) 2) firefox v70 upgrade (maybe a month or so old)\ what is interesting though is chrome still plays via directstream. is there something i can do to force firefox or the emby server to use directstream instead of transcoding my videos?
