Function Suggestion: Add a switch for using the current device's H265 decoder to the Emby APP Dear Emby team, I have a function proposal. I'm using an old Android TV. The TV supports hardware decoding of HEVC H265 videos. However, when using its decoder to play videos directly, the frame rate is very low and the playback is quite choppy. The Emby APP will directly use the decoder to decode H265 videos regardless of the user's wishes when the device supports the H265 decoder. As a result, the videos look extremely choppy and not smooth at all. If you want the server to transcode the videos into AVC H264 for playback, you can only reduce the bit rate/resolution. For a 1080p H265 video with an original bit rate of 2Mbps, reducing the bit rate further will only make it extremely blurry, which seriously affects the viewing experience. I suggest adding a switch to the Emby APP to disable the use of the device's own H265 decoder and let the server transcode the videos into AVC H264 for playback. Hi everyone i would like to know when emby will be available on the European country Tizen Store? I can't get the Emby Tizen App on my French Country Samsung App and I have some configurations that I won't reset to change the country can please emby tell me when it was available across the other country like French, Spain, Portugal or also China? There seems to be an issue with playback on mobile devices after the device sleeps. I did the test in the video above on my iPhone using Safari connected to cellular and using a domain that points directly to my public IP(not cloudflare). I've included multiple log files. The 3 transcodes are the logs that were created in the test in the video. 1 other person brought this problem to me. They stated the following happens in Safari, Chrome, and the Emby application. The problem is seemingly random when it comes to file types. MP4, AVI, MKV were all found to have the issue. So I don’t think it’s the file types. They do notice that when you lock the phone, then resume playing, shortly after is when the problem comes up Anything stick out in the logs? User error somehow? I have had Emby for quite a time now and recently bought Emby Premiere so I could use it on more platforms. I have my Emby server running locally on Debian and can connect remotely through my domain (assume my.domain.com). Emby works fine (with SSL) on following the devices I tested: Android app iOS app Windows Store app Xbox One app Most PCs web interface However, I could not get it working with SSL on my LG TV with WebOS 3.5 (LG OLED55B6V if it matters). It did work on a non-secure connection, but when I try to add the server as SSL connection, it simply denies connection like it doesn't even exist. Even when I log onto my Emby Connect account, it simply doesn't show the server, where all other devices do. Now I've read some problems about the SSL certificate (https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/57575-lg-emby-app-106-ssl-problem-connecting-to-server/), I'm currently using Comodo PostiveSSL as a certificate, which I have seen at least one other person have problems with as wel. However, I've also seen that some people with Let'sEncrypt have this problem. (https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/61481-unable-to-connect-over-https/) There is suggested that LG is simply blocking my certificate, but when I go to my site with the WebOS webbrowser (same certificate), it allows the certificate and shows the site as 'secure'. So somewhere the TV actually does allow the certificate. So I'm not sure where the problem resides. Also, I've shortly tested it on a PS4 from a friend. There was no app, so I used the built-in webbrowser. It also didn't seem to work there, seemed to have the same problem: simply not showing the server. Didn't have much time to test it there, so don't pin me on this. My question is: does anyone have Emby running over SSL with any certificate on LG WebOS 3.5? If so, what certificate do you use?

Hello, i've been starting to use emby server in this week and although there is already a dashboard to manage emby server, such as creating users and stuff, i'd like to use my own admin panel already done that was written in php. I'd like to know if it is possible to access emby's dashboard options through another panel created by myself through an API, remote access or something similar, and if so, i'd like to know how because i'm new at this .

Ayer instales emby me ha gustado mucho pero tengo el problema siguiente: Al verlo en el explorador no tengo problemas conecta y por ello pienso que esta bien configurado lel puerto abierto y si puedo ver las peliculas y series pero al bajar la app en diferentes aparatos dos celulares uno viejito con android 4.4 otro con android 9 y una tvbox con android 5 no puede localizar el servidor, no se que pueda ser me pueden ayudar?

Hi, today Emby on my Tizen TV (installed via USB) told me that a new version of the app has been released. I downloaded it from https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Emby.Releases/tree/master/tizen, put it on the usual USB key, but a security error occurred (please see the photo below, "invalid app package for security check failed"). I haven't previously cancelled the old version of the app. Help, thanks! Hi guys, please hit me if this isn´t a reason for opening a new thread - i am quite new to this Theme, but long sotry short - i am using a qnap (ts453a - fw: 4.3.4.0516) with smb for my Kodi-player (Nvidia-Shield-TV). As i am now on the way to improve my whole system (adding a sencond, mayb a third Kodi player ), i am looking for a solution to sync my databases (my whole ripped DVD/BR collection) and get a little more comfy than diy-kodi-qnap-biotope (watched, marks, artwork (sd/br boxes) etc.. ) i came to emby Server for Kodi (i think lifetime premium is THE way for my needed features, support, etc.?) -> So i wanted to try the Backend-Server first, but i cant find the app in my qnap-app-store? Is something wrong with me, i even used the search function, or is here something like a bug or so (maybe with fw?). Pls help - thx & greeting inb4, Fettsack.

A client has reported several types of errors when accessing my emby server, using the emby app on their Fire Tv. Among the most common errors is the lock after 5 minutes of playback and yesterday he was trying to watch a movie and this message came up: "Too many errors. Giving up" Thank you in advance for your attention, I have found that 6 clients use the emby application on Fire Tv. Note: Using the same Fire Tv with the SILK BROWSER web browser does not occur any problem to watch the emby server.

Hi guys, I'm still using the old windows Emy app on my phone (Windows phone 8.1). I can't play music files witch has to be transcoded to play on my phone. As far as I can see, the transcoding went fine but the phone doesn't start with playing the media and on my phone screen I see the || (pause) of the track without starting. I have test it with flac files and m4a files. Normally it has to be transcoded to mp3 to play on my phone. See attachements for the logs. Hi, I am a Premiere member and I have set up Emby Server mainly in order to use it with my (several) Kodi installations. It works just fine with my over 4.000 Movies and 20.000 TV episodes. (Even though setup process took several days in order to get it perfectly working and understand all parts of the Emby Server system) Now I have tried to setup Emby in my Windows phones and must say that I am extremly disappointed with the "Emby App". It has several huge problems desribed below. Optional there is also Emby Theater but it is mainly intended for use on TV or Home monitors that are bigger so it is not so nice and easy to use on a phone. Emby Theater works and let you login with Emby Connect and it let you play movies without any problems or limitations. However Emby Theather seems less developed than Android App. Final option is using Microsoft Edge internetbrowser which looks nice and is funtional BUT does not let you play any movies (not supported) and it does not let you go fullscreen. Problems with Emby App: First problem is that Emby App refuse to login with Emby Connect so I don't get full functions as I should have as a lifetime Premiere member. (More about login problems below). As it is now I can just play one movie per day. Second problem is that the Emby App for Windows phone is not all all so nice like the same version for Android. Menus and pictures are oversized and makes it look ugly and difficult to navigate. It also has problem to handle my big Movie collection and shows simple archive maps instead of nice Movie covers. (Which is not a problem in the Android version of the same app) Listing of movies is shown in "List view" instead of Androids nice looking "Cover mode". Some navigation options are not functioning (bugs). Example going by "Folders" from homepage you cannot open your maps inside there. Touch a map and "nada" happens. Windows App is also missing the nice and functional menu buttons that you see down in the Andoid version. (Meaning that you actually cannot do as many thinigs as in Android) Third problem is that Movie player get stuck on one and the same trailer and refuse to play anything else. So I can not even see my 1 alllowed movie. And I cannot try another movie because of the limitation. Summary is that the Emby App for Windows Phone needs a major upgrade and as it is for now. Emby Theater is the only working choice for a Windowsphone. To ask people to actually buy the Emby App in Microsoft Store is actually nothing but a robbery. (Pay for such shit - really! Come on it should be free until it has same functionallity as the Android version. Here follows some details of the problem with Emby Connect and Emby App: Emby App (not Emby Theater) refuse to login with Emby Connect. Reading the forums and google around I have tried several things. Connect with internal end external WIFI network makes no difference. Using the phones 4G also does not work. Trying with server external address as fixed IP number or dynamic DNS makes no change. I have used a Windows 10 Phone Lumia 950 XL Dual and a Windows 8 Phone Lumia 920. Windowsphone 10 version = 10.0.14393.321 Windowsphone 8 version = 8.10.14234.375 I actually also created a second Emby account just in order to try if something was wrong with my account. But I could not login with Emby Connect from that new account either. Also I cannot login inside the app with Emby Connect (after login by skip) P.S. I did upload the logs from my Win 10 Phone. I remember reading this somewhere in the community but can't find it. For some reason, the Google PlayStore keeps showing me that there's an update to the Emby App, but the version number is always 3.8. Does this make sense? Is it because whenever the newly released Emby App has a new version, I'm notified while never getting that update? I'm on version Version 3.0.6400.0. I've attached the Server and Emby App logs. Hi, I am modifying the custom CSS in a server and i can see these changes in the web browser. But, the emby app for android doesn't respect the custom CSS which I had modified in a server. There any way to modify the custom css for the android app? Thanks.

I'm having trouble playing live TV on any of the apps. I don't have a problem with movie which are MKV containers, but only 480p. I'm using a HDHR tuner attached to a Gigabit network and I've tried both the Emby Server for windows and the freenas plugin just to see if that had an effect. Using the Emby app for window 10 I get this video failed to play most of the time (I tried two different windows 10 PCs). Using Microsoft Edge and Firefox also do not let me watch live TV. If I look on the server, it has a few FFmpeg proccess hanging out even after the video failed to play. Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this would be appreciated. Logs are attached. ServerLogs.zip

I am running the latest version of Emby Server on a Windows 10 Pro 64-bit machine. It works fine, both on my LAN and from remote locations. I recently took an Asus Transformer T100TA tablet on vacation and used it to connect to the Emby Server by logging in and connecting remotely. The T100TA is running Windows 10 Home and it works fine when used in this way. I noticed an Emby App on the Windows store that is described as an Emby Browser App (by 7illusions.) I paid the $4.99 and attempted to download/install the App on the Asus computer. The Emby logo flashes briefly when the download starts, and then I receive the following error message while still connected to the Windows Store: "Try that again. Something went wrong. The error code is 0x803F8003, in case you need it." Although the Emby App appears on the Start screen, it doesn't launch when I click it. I can view my media remotely on this computer through the browser, but thought the App might offer additional features. (In other words, the Windows App is something i really don't need.) Any ideas why it won't install? I did notice that my tablet is identified as a device by the Emby Server and it is described (incorrectly) as a Windows RT device. This is not the case. It is a full-featured Windows 10 Home OS.
