Hi Everybody I looked for it a bit, but unfortunately I wasn't able to find it. I'm looking for the list of codecs and file formats that each browser can read by DirectPlay and ones causing DirectStream. I need these because I use Emby at home and I only play my stuff on my TV that support almost everything but not my computer (when I'm in my bed) that plays via browser (Chrome). Is there someting there that I missed ? The best solution would be a compatibility matrix like that Video Codec Sound Codec Playing x264 MP3 DirectPlay x264 AAC DirectPlay x264 DTS DirectStream x265 all Transcode Cause, untill now, when I download someting, I re-encode Audio with AAC, and video to x264 to ensure DirectPlay will occur, but is there a better Audio Codec ? No matter the bandwith here, cause all plays occur via LAN or WiFi... Many thanks for your answers

There seems to be an issue with ¿rendering the last couple of minutes of an episode while steaming to another location. Playback cuts off and I can't get the stream to continue on any time frame. In my experience one of the most reliable and least resources intensive for the past 5 years.

Hello, I just upgraded to version 3.0.5781.8 and just noticed that there are now 2 columns with episodes in a season instead of the 3 I was used to. This happens in landscape view on my ipad. And I'm not sure but I think in series view there used to be 3 columns too, now it also has 2 but these are centered instead of left-aligned so it's not that disturbing. Thanks, Danee

When I try to play a .m2ts MVC Remux (FSBS) in WebClient or Android App, I get an error and ffmpeg exits with an error code. The behaviour I expected is that the Clients above just play the 2D stream part, like e.g. Media Player Classic or Windows Media Player do. I cannot say if it's the same behaviour in iOS, since I do not own such a device. Attached are Server and Transcoding Logs + the File MediaInfo Cheers guys and Happy Holidays m2ts.zip

Hi, i did an interesting test tonight. When playing an mp4 (1280x720) on my android, it runs nice and smooth and no transcoding takes place. If i try to run the exact same movie on my desktop via firefox, it starts jumping and not play smoothing. I see that the transcode folder has an webm file while playing in the browser but not when playin on the android. REducing the bitrate in the web browser doesn't help. Why does Emby think it needs to transcode in web client (21" screen on pentium i5 3Ghz) and not in android (samsung galaxy 10"). THe server is install on DELL POweredge (quite old with pentium 4 2.8 Ghz and 0.5 GB ECC RAM). Any thoughts on possible reasons and what I can do to stop transcoding when not necessary? Tested on Chrome and FF. 1. Login with User A 2. Close Tab 3. Login with User B 4. Homescreen of User A is shown I can imagine it's meant like that by dev team, but I see problems with parental controls. I created an own user for my son. Even when he tries to login by clicking on his account, he gets my Homeview with all the fancy horror zombie apocalyptic stuff, if I just closed tab before instead of logout. Can it be implemented, that the user session ends when the tab is closed? Log says, the right user is connected, but in Browser it's not.

hi there, not sure if this is the right place to post or if it should have gone to linux or another thread. I run emby Version 3.0.5675.1 on kernel 3.2.0.88 Here my issue: For some files in my library i'm missing the mediainfo of the video file (I do have the metadata, such as episode summary etc. that is not the issue). Normally, when you browse to a video file in the webclient at the bottom you will see the mediainfo. This is not the case for me, for most I do see mediainfo, but for some it shows only "container" and "path". This becomes a problem when you want emby to transcode the file as it requires this info. When I go to the metadata manager and I do a an "advanced refresh" with "add missing data" it does its thing and the missing mediainfo appears and transcoding works as well. This works recursive to one level only it seems, e.g. so if do an advanced refresh on the structure below it works: folder1 -sample.avi [mediainfo is missing] I do an advanced refresh and: folder1 -sample.avi [mediainfo is there] What does not work is and would mean to go through each folder individually (which is too much work): folder1 (e.g. tv shows) -subfolder1 (e.g. show1) -sample.avi (e.g. episode) [mediainfo missing] Also not working: folder1 (e.g. tv shows) -subfolder1 (e.g. show1) -subfolder2 (e.g. season) -sample.avi (e.g. episode) [mediainfo missing] or also not working folder1 (e.g. tv show) -subfolder1 (e.g. show1) -subfolder2 (e.g. season) -subfolder3 (e.g. episodes in folders) -sample.avi (e.g. episode) [mediainfo missing] So how to get emby to scan and add (missing) mediainfo in a recursive manner for all subfolders and the files therein? I have a scheduled task set to scan my library every 24 hours, but this info is not being added.

I just noticed in Emby 3.0.7013.4 (latest beta) that using webclient for server administratior or media playback, when the user logs out if you clic on "Manual Login" the last user username but more importantly also he password are already filled. I'm not sure if this was the same no previous versions or not. This might pose a security risk in the scenario that the last logged user was a server administrator but it will also have other implications and risks when you use different users for parental control or library access. The issue is more evident if you only use manual login for all your users (hidding them from the login page). Repro steps: Login with any username in the webclient Logout using the logout button. The webclient will return to the login screen. Clic on "Manual Login" and you will see the user credentials of the last logged user already filled in, including it's password. Clic on "Log In" and it will go ahead and log you in with the last user credentials. Thanks.

Hi there, I installed the emby plugin in openmediavault (2.1.8) (debian wheezy 7.8) on my HP N40L (8 GB) (details seen in the following pics) and I'm quite impressed :-) One thing is bothering me: I can open on my "photos" and see all my indexed albums. When I click on one specific album, I see the following: When I point on an individual photo and click on the dots and then on "metadata info" I see So far, so good. Even when I click on "phoito info" I get, what I expect: But when I click on the photo right from the album view, I get a (nearly) blank screen (even after waiting minutes, although wired through 1 gigabit). I can not see any corresponding entries within the logfile. So what can I do? Any helpful recommendations are quiet welcome. Thanks in advance.

Hello All, I have recently moved my Server to a new machine (Intel NUC, i'd reccomend one) and have come accross an issue with TV shows seasons. For some reason they are not showing up in the web client when the show is browsed....... Metadata Manager list them as they should......... This is my folder structure...... Media Browser classic seems to list them correctly....... So this issue seems to be just with the web client. Can anyone shine any list on this for me, I'm using the latest release (not any beta's) Thank you EDIT - It seems the seasons do show up, but not straight away, haven't times it exactly but its well over 10 minutes then they suddenly appear

Restrict search results to only show items in the current folder.

Hi Guys, When I'm searching for movies then I do not want to see search results for music, people etc., since the list get's very long. So Is it possible to have MB3 restrict the search results, so that it only show items that are in the current folder I'm browsing?. Keep up the good work. Mikael -
When I play a video from the start the subtitle is showing perfect but at resume no subtitle is showing. Even switching between subtitle doesn't help. I experienced this behavior with several versions of the server and webclients. With kind regards, Rienk Kuipers The Netherlands.

Dear members of the forum, First of all I would like to know how the MB team is thinking about sharing ideas, tips and tricks on the forum and is it encouraged by the team? Since there are users like me who don't have the time to join the development team or don't want the hazzle of setting up github or just want to work in their own pace and with their own server applications but do have knowlegde about html5 css3 and javascript I was thinking sharing ideas, tips and tricks about customisation of the webclient in this community forum could benefit us all. There are a lot of examples where you could change the code to your taste and benefit, for example: the loginpage has a white background. I don't like this so i have made a change to the html code to have a dark background. I know customising this way has the disadvantage that changes will be overwritten with a upgrade but if you keep track of the changes you make it can be easily implemented in a new upgrade. Let me know what you think of it.

MBS Version 3.0.5464.40000 and webclient Chrome 39.0.2171.95 I have a issue if I add a new user reordering displays two simular music directories in the webclient.This should be one.As a consequence the left navigation menu in the webclient of the particular new user displays two simular music dir and only one works correct. I guess this is a bug.

Mediabrowser server version 3.0.5424.1 and MB bookshelf plugin 1.0..5198.29005 As of this new server version it seems that the MB Bookshelfplugin doesn't seem to read the file "metadata.opf" which is created by Calibre. Would like to ask the developer of this plugin to fix this.

I would like to see a feature in the webdashboard (MBS) to redirect or force users to a landingspage before they can go to the loginpage. This would be very nice way to personalize Mediabrowser3 to your look and feel of your website. I saw on the dashboard UI - server-configuration (dashboardgeneral.html) there is already a reference to Homestyle (huisstijl in dutch) where you can put in a noclaimer of some kind.

Hello, Something seems to have changed in the layout in the webclient from beta 5416 to 5421. On the latest release the left and right margins are wider which causes the buttons to not resize like they did before. This is especially noticable when using an iPad.
