I have 1) Front Cover and 2) Artist images embedded in ALL of my Music media (i.e., FLAC, mp3, mp4, m4a, wv, ape). In some cases, I have 3) Back Cover 4) Disc and 5) Icon images embedded also. I have "Image Extractor" set as primary Image fetcher for the album image. I have "FanArt" set as primary Image fetcher for the artist image. There is no option for "Image Extractor". **** Question I am confused here as it appears that the artist image is retrieved from "...\IBN\People..." or the "...\Artist Name\folder.*" file. Please clarify how this is intended to work. (Not sure which is the display source since in my case the images are identical) Is it the case that the local image("...\Artist Name\folder.*") takes priority if it is present? **** I have "Image Extractor" set as the primary Image fetcher for the song image. **** Issue However, the image displayed for the song varies sporadically between "Front cover", "Back Cover", "Artist" and "Disc". I have confirmed that in every case BOTH the "Front cover" and the "Artist" images are embedded in the file. Which image is intended to be displayed for a "Song" when one or both images are embedded and "Image Extractor" is the preferred method" **** Examples of sporadic song images (Front cover, Disc, Back Cover):

Hi All, Would it be possible to add Sonos streaming to the Android app? In my head it would work in the same way as the Chromecast streaming currently works. I've been looking at some public APIs for Sonos https://github.com/SoCo/SoCoand it seems you make a UPNP connection to the device and can then send the track to be played as a URL. This would allow people to play their music at any location that had a Sonos device, regardless of if the server was on the same network. Regards, Llygoden

I created a music playlist on the Emby Server and it plays all the songs correctly on my Roku 3. However, after the first song finishes playing and the next song begins to play, the information (metadata) for the first song continues to be displayed. The first song information is displayed through the entire playlist (until the Roku screensaver comes on). Is there an easy fix to make the Roku display info for the song that is currently playing?

I would like to propose some changes to the Music section UX, which I think would bring some improvements. After playing in there and using the music section for a while, some things I've noticed are a little bit annoying. I will refer at this image, red notations representing sections and yellow ones buttons. 1: When making queues on the go, I want to click the 3 dots button (button #3) to reveal the menu. The problem is if you hover to long over the image, the black cover with thumbs appears and a click over the button #3 will start the album's playback. This will just kill your queue and play the first track. I suggest that the button #3 always stays on top, or that area #1 remains uncovered: this could allow for other futur buttons next to #3 that would remain uncovered. Leaving the buttons on top seems to be the best option though. 2: Everywhere in Emby, clicking the thumb or poster image will get you to a detailed page. In the music section though, this just starts playing the album. If you want to access the detailed page, you need to click the 3 dots to get to the alternate menu, then click open. This is confusing and should be kept the same all over the app: clicking the poster (like area #4) should bring you to the detailed page of the item. Plus, "navigation" clicks happen way more often than "play" clicks. Thus, clicking the thumb or poster should be used for navigation and not playback. For the same reason, I think that area #2 should also bring to the detail page and not start playback. For playback, there is a "play" button that serves this purpose. In area #2, only the yellow buttons should represent other actions than getting to the detail page. Tell me what you think 3psus

Hello. Running build 3.0.5781.4 on Debian 7. I'm able to play music I've uploaded to my library, but the "Scan Library" process doesn't find any new files in my music library; I have to refresh the page before they show up. And when they DO show up, there's no image art. When I go to "Identify" the item, I never get anything back but a bunch of magnifying glass icons. Server log of my latest attempt is here.

Hi, I always play my music files with my Marantz M-CR610. So each time I launch Emby Web, I have to select my Marantz M-CR610 in the upper right corner before I start a music file. I would like that each time I play a music file it is sent to my Marantz M-CR610 by default, instead of my PC speakers, without having to select in the upper right corner. Is this possible ? Thanks.

Originally my music worked great in Emby. For about a month now, and through multiple upgrades (beta & public), I've had a weird issue with the Android Client & the Web Client: If I go the the Albums page under Music, everything is there If I go through the albums page by page, everything is there If I use the letters on the side to jump to a particular letter, the page comes up blank I'm currently using Emby Server v3.0.5781.1 on a 64bit Windows 7 box and running Android Client Beta: v2.4.30 on Galaxy Tab S with Android 5.0.2 (this also happened with Android Client Public: v2.4.13). I've included a couple of logs from my Android client and my server log. I think I tried running tests from the Android client around 8:20 this morning and from the web client around 11:20 this morning. e07aad41-260b-485d-8753-6aecf2807ece.log fc1f30bc-8777-464d-a76f-b2d81270c0b1.log server-63582624000.txt

I am experiencing a stuttering effect in the playback of the first few notes of a music track in the Web Client. I am using Emby Server version 3.0.5871.0 although the problem has existed for me for quite some time, just never got around to reporting it. My entire Music Library is in FLAC format and the problem is easily reproducible on my system by doing the following... Select any album and click on a track to play it. I hear a slight stutter of the first couple of notes and then the track plays fine all the way to the end. Select another song and the same things happens---the first few notes seem to stutter. This is most noticeable if the track immediately starts with the vocal versus a track that might have a second or two of silence in the beginning. Same issue is seen when I use a music playlist and it transitions from one song to the next. The first few notes will sound like they are stuttering/repeating. The anomaly is that this problem does NOT manifest itself when I play the tracks back using MB Theater as the client. I only see it with the Web Client. Has any else experienced this? Please advise if additional info is required. Thanks...

I guess this picture pretty much explains the situation I'm having. Happened for a few albums, Emby correctly identifies them, but doesn't replace the artwork for all songs.

I'm on server version 3.0.5781, and sometimes, Emby doesn't pick up musicbrainzID's for certain music files, although they are all properly tagged with the MBID. Can anybody confirm this behaviour?

I am using Emby for Kodi 1.1.53, and in my music library, when I sort music albums after "Tracks", multidisc albums don't get split up into their individual albums. The titles are ordered like 01 - foo 01 - foobar 02 - foofoo 02 - foofoobar ... This same thing worked without problems when scanning the same audiofiles directly to kodi. Music is properly tagged, either MP3 or FLAC, with the disc tag set.

Hey all; I've been using Emby since it was Media Browser 2, so I'm pretty familiar with it. That being said, it's my first time attempting to get it to work using Kodi as a front-end for it. I'm attempting to do so on a relatively new platform too -- the nVidia Shield Android TV. Initial setup seemed relatively painless: Copy the .zip to a USB thumbdrive Install Emby Add-on from .zip Install Emby Add-on from Repository (picked Music Add-on/Video Add-on, and a couple other options as well) Kodi auto-detected my server, and I selected the user that I wanted to use for this profile Scanning of my library began At first, Kodi had detected all of my songs, but none of them would show up under the Music heading. I knew that it had detected them all because when I clicked into Settings, it would give me a count of them in the header. After some playing around however, most of them show up. Some of them aren't listed properly... some are listed as "Singles" ... but that's a different issue, and appears to be one that the community is aware of. My main problem is that none of the files actually play any music. They all work correctly from Emby, and even from Kodi when I install it on my phone, and attempt to go through the same process, however, when I try from the Android TV device, I get an error message saying that it couldn't locate the next file to play. At this point in time, I'm not sure if music is supported by the add-on, but I wanted to report this issue, and find out if anyone else is having troubles with this also. FYI: I've tried adjusting a number of the settings - such as ones to stream instead of directly accessing the files through the network. After adjusting these types of settings, I've done full database resets from the add-on, manually synching etc... all to no avail. I've also tried modifying the way that my libraries are configured in Emby. I've tried using UNC paths, and I've tried configuring them using the standard Windows paths as well. It should also be noted that video files have no troubles playing, the only problem is with Music. It should also be noted that music files were my main motivating factor for attempting to use Kodi as a front-end, as I believe that the Android TV app doesn't yet support music. Hopefully it will one day. Also, hopefully I'm correct in assuming that it's not supported by the Emby for Android TV app. I haven't found a way to get it to work there yet either. Thanks for any help you can provide. Paste of my log file is included at the following link: http://pastebin.com/sWZ7QXJJ

Is there a way that I can force Emby to NOT show certain items on the main screen? My PC doesn't have a tuner card, so the Recorded TV, Live TV and Guide folders are redundant. Moreover, I tried adding the Music folder into Emby and it conflicts with the way Windows Media Player works, so I don't use Music as part of my media collection.

Is it possible to "reset" ONLY the music library to restart with a clean fresh one? I'm having different and strange problems with my music library and I would like to do a complete refresh of it, starting with a cleant and empty one. Would removing the music library, and adding it again achieve this? I'm open to do some sqlite "surgery" with the proper guidance. I'm running Emby server 3.0.5724.6 on CentOS 7. Thanks

In my music library, multi-disc albums are not detected correctly. Meaning that all the songs from both discs are showed under the same disc so on the same album I end up with two tracks number 1, two tracks number 2, etc, as you can see in the attached screenshot. Moreover, even when each disc folder has the correct artwork files, Emby is not showing any artwork at all. I'm running Emby server 3.0.5724.6 (latest stable version) on CentOS 7. I double checked that I'm following the correct naming guidance from Emby's website (example folder organization attached in a screenshot). I can upload a library scanning log if needed but I didn't see any errors at all. Thanks.

Hi there Luke and the team, I didn't know where to put this one, and sorry to sound like a broken record. Are there any plans for the following Favourites tabs (or something), mainly for sync and so I don't look like a prat shouting "shuffle my favourite songs" in the car. Maybe with quick buttons to sync favourite songs, shuffle favourite songs etc, the voice command is cool but doesn't always work great in the car with background noise while Bluetoothed to the head unit and a wobblegob wife and child on the go. Playlist resume, auto playlist resume recognisable by what you are connected to, i.e. if I connect in the car it knows just to resume what I was listening to, there is a bit of an issue where, if the charger is connected and I power cycle, i.e. waiting in the car park for the wobblegob, paying for fuel etc. it forces the app to refresh and I have to start from scratch, usually shouting shuffle my favourite songs. Also, i was thinking of investing in an android head unit for the car so I could have Emby playing directly with no bluetooth connection and hopefully some steering wheel control so these functions would be great. 2 steps away from my music wet dream. Just some ideas, if you can fit them in.

Hi, Is there any chance to have the composer on Emby music catalog? To search for composer, or list by composer? This may seem a bit uncommon to general music lovers but for classical music it is really very useful. Thanks

Good afternoon guys Firstly, thank you for the emby.kodi work, it's definitely my preferred way forward :-) Some help if you don't mind? With reference to http://xbmclogs.com/pq10enut4 I can't get music playback to work on my Nexus Player (movies work fine) This was working about a month ago on earlier server/addon versions. All is working on my windows 10 NUCs I'm not sure if it is something I have messed up but have rebuilt the NP in case but no change. Thanks in advance

First, thanks for what looks to be an amazing piece of software. I've scanned in all my music and some albums have appeared correctly but others not. The common ground between all those which failed is that they are in one single parent folder (which has various artist / album folders below it). Emby seems to think that the parent folder is an album with hundreds of tracks, although Metadata Manager shows me that it has read the Album ID3 tags correctly on each individual track. Does Emby make Album objects in the library based on the tags or on the folders? My audio tracks are not quite strictly organised as artist/album/track, but the same folder structure has worked fine with many bits of software over the past ten years or so (eg. Kodi, Foobar, Logitech Media Server etc), and I would much rather not re-folder if I can avoid it. Many thanks in advance for any help. SC Platform details: HP Microserver > Ubuntu > Flac files with ID3 tags > Emby 3.0.5675.1 - let me know if you need to know anything else!

Hi guys, I was wondering if there was an easy way to force the server to re-download all my music album art to use 1000x1000 images where available. I tried an advanced refresh of all images, but it didn't seem to use the higher res ones. Thanks! Edit: Ok, so I just figured out this one myself, so I should have tried harder (my bad). For anyone wanting to know the answer, try this setting under Metadata>Services>Music Albums:

Web Client - Add Option to Sort By Artist When Viewing Genres
fuzzy11287 posted a topic in Feature Requests
Currently when viewing a music genre we have the option to view Albums or Songs. Can you add an option to view by Artist as well? Emby for WMC does this, though it might be theme-dependent there. -
Tested on two android smartphones: Versions are 4.2.2 and 5.0.2 Video plays fine on both of them, subtitles are also supported correctly. Music plays fine on 5.0.2 but immediatly leads Emby to crash on 4.2.2. Attached are logs from server and both androids. Emby Android version is 2.3.80 on both 5.0.2 and 4.2.2 Emby Server version is 3.0.5675.1 Thanks android.app.4.2.2.log android.app.5.0.2.log server-63573588712.txt

Hi, The problem i'm describing is happening on the android app, but started happening with the latest server update. When I use the voice command "Shuffle my favorite songs" (very cool, it works well) it seems to be shuffling the same few songs every time, as if it was doing an instant mix. I just checked it on the web interface and it is doing the same. Would love it if it was as before.

We do already havge the section in album view "if you like xxx you might also like", which is nice. In the Artist view page, we show the discs / songs of the artists - could we add a section below "Similar Artists" - this would make it more fluently to find alternative artists of a certain style.
