Is it possible to set my external subtitles to be the default? I see that I can set subtitles to always be on, and I can set a particular language as the default. Most of my mp4 movies have graphic subtitles in them (dvdsub), and for lots of them I also have external subtitle files (srt, sub). If I have an internal english subtitle and an external english subtitle file, it seems like Emby uses the internal as the default (the attachment is from the bottom of Emby's WebUI for one of my movies). Is there any way to set a system wide default to say "if there are external & internal subtitles for the default language, use the external subtitle"?

It would be nice to be able to specify default options for library creation. I have to add a lot of libraries and on every single library, I have to manually set all the checkbox. I made some default library images for those who like a clean, simple interface. The idea is to put the content in first place. Just in case anyone wants to use them. I used the green from the default Emby theme, the icons are from the google material icon set, style set to rounded, to match the recent Emby style. when i add some library to scan, it looks only set primary by default. Is any to set folder default view to thumb for all folder default? if i one by one set, it can save the config, but i have 3000 folder... does anyone can help me?

Hi. First question... regardless of where I'm watching Emby (Roku typically), we always have to go into the menu and go to the FOLDERS option to change the view to FOLDERS. How do i set this as a default on the Emby Windows Media server? It's tedious to have to make this change, every single time we log into Emby. Secondly and related, when we log into Emby, we go to the top menu, and then have to scroll over to Folders, every single time. How do I move that menu option so that it's first? I can't find this on the Media Server to set the order. Please advise, Thanks T

For e.g. if I wanted to change the color of the top bar containing "Movies" "Suggestions" etc from Grey to Black, could I? I mean like by modifying one of the files in C:\Users\*username*\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Theater or by tweaking any other file contained in another folder?

I've seen similar posts before, but they mainly have to do with the auto-selection of movie versions where the resolution is the primary difference. I use multiple versions for such things as extended versions, director's cuts, various edits and so on. The multiple version feature could use several improvements in this regard. 1. The ability to select the DEFAULT version. For instance if I feel the Director's Cut is the definitive version, I would like to set that version as a default which will come up on the clients as the first or default selection. In other cases, it might be the Theatrical. Some movies have several versions like Dawn of the Dead or The Wicker Man. It would be great to assign a number preference to order these. 2. I would like to see the display of the Run Time and Ends At dynamically change to reflect the currently selected version. One version can be much longer and I would like to see those times reflected in the display. Thanks. P.S. Thanks for allowing us to use embedded track titles again in the display. I spent a lot of time curating these and marking commentary tracks, etc. So it is great to be able to display that now.

Is it possible to have a section which defines the users preference (rather than Embys) for which scraper they use for films, TV Series and cast? The reason I ask is that not all scrapers have all the information about a particular movie / TV show or cast member. Alternatively, if this isn't possible, is it possible to have Emby automatically check the next scraper in line if the previous scraper returns no information? For instance, in the film "Four Assassins" (imdb.com; themoviedb.com) there are two cast members (I'm using Emiie Guillot as the example) who, when scraped from themoviedb.com return no information but from imbd.com return the full information. Unfortunately, Emby appears to refuse to search for cast information even if you specify the relevant ID (for either scraper); the search simply returns no information at all for a cast member. Hopefully this can be addressed so I don't have to manually download the relevant information and type it all in. Thanks in advance.

Emby Theater 2.8.4 does not seem to use default audio track for at least one TV series. And it is not remembering the audio track selection if I change it, quit the app, and return. I haven't explored further to see if it's just this one show on my server or throughout ET at the moment. In past version (2.8.3 and earlier) the default audio track played as expected. The show is "Dirk Gentlys Holistic Detective Agency". The MKV files have a "Stereo" and a "Dolby Digital 5.1" track. The 5.1 is flagged as Default, using MKVToolNix. But ET plays the stereo track, the first track, everytime. If I manually switch the 5.1 track that plays fine. But quitting and returning, ET reverts back to the stereo track as default. I have three general classes of devices I run Emby on: ​-Windows PCs, they would prefer MPEG2 -Amlogic S905/X, they would prefer MPEG4 "heavy" "mobile" -Surface 2 & smartphones, they would prefer MPEG4 "mobile" There's two situations: 1) Live TV: I assume Emby can request a specific profile from the HDHomeRun EXTEND and I also assume this isn't being done. If it is being done, then I get the impression it is broken because the default profile set in each EXTEND impacts the streams that are played from it. If it isn't automatically figuring this out, I'd like to be able to set it in Emby Server where Emby Theater requests MPEG2 and everything else gets MPEG4 "mobile." Is this possible now? It is possible to add? Is it something that will be added? 2) Recordings: This is where things get iffy because Emby Server itself isn't the destination where the video will be consumed. I think the best solution is to be able to select a transcoding profile on a per recording or series basis. For example, I know some series only get watched on the Windows computers so it would recorded as MPEG2. I know series may be watched on tablets or Amlogic boxes so it would be recorded as MPEG2 "mobile." Then there is sports events of all kinds need to be recorded as MPEG2 or MPEG4 "heavy" because MPEG4 "mobile" looks like crap. Is this possible now? It is possible to add? Is it something that will be added? HDHomeRun EXTEND are powerful little devices but options in Emby appear to prevent them from being used optimally. Edit: Apparently MPEG4 "heavy" is too much for the Amlogic 905/X devices. It appears "heavy" doesn't change resolution where "mobile" does.

Emby team, You were able to do this in Emby for WMC, was hoping you could in Emby Theater, also. Right now Emby Theater shows the first audio track when you pull up the info page for a movie (in my case the 2-ch AAC track). Would prefer it to display the track that is marked as default (in my case the second 6-ch AC3 or third 6-ch DTS audio track). Thanks!

For some reason emby keeps using the default images for "My Media" folders. This just started happening with latest Version 3.0.5781.3. I can't seem to figure out how to get my images to show up and for some reason the first folder, boxsets doesn't default to the thumb image ever. Even when I delete the "Thumb" image it comes back on it's own after some time.

Hi, I always play my music files with my Marantz M-CR610. So each time I launch Emby Web, I have to select my Marantz M-CR610 in the upper right corner before I start a music file. I would like that each time I play a music file it is sent to my Marantz M-CR610 by default, instead of my PC speakers, without having to select in the upper right corner. Is this possible ? Thanks.

MBC Version 3.0.207.0 Chocolate 3.0.6.6 I have thousands of videos in hundreds of folders. I Would like to specify a custom default folder icon for display. Is there a way to do that?

Hopefully this is a simple request, and one that others will see the merit in too. Essentially, the media center users in my home will typically all be sharing the same "Movies" and "TV" libraries, and only our "Music" libraries will be different. Because of this, I think it would probably be ideal if the server allowed for all users to use the Default Library (which I would define to include "Music" and "TV") and then be able to add custom libraries on top of that.
