When i select a movie cover I want to get the media Info screen instead of immediately playing the movie. Therefore I changed the "play action" in the kodi playback options. But in Embycon the movie starts immediatley when I select a movie cover. Only when I am using the "Kodi movie player" the media Info screen comes up. Why?

Hello, when i navigate to my movie poster wall and klick on a poster it will start the movie without bringing up the context menu. Embycon addon option says context menu is enabled. Im new to Kodi and Emby, so sorry if i am missing something obvious... thanks in advance..

Hi Emby Team and Emby Community, I'm having a problem with the sync of the watched status from kodi to emby server. -------------------------------------------------------- My setup Kodi 18.9.0 based on Coreelec EmbyCon 1.9.106 on Kodi Emby 4.5.4.0 installed on Qnap x64 ------------------------------------------------------- After I turned to use Embycon instead of Emby on Kodi, I noticed the movied I already watched on Kodi was not marked watched in Emby side, the wathched status wasn't recorded either. However, any watch status in Emby side (e.g. web, iphone) will immediately sync to Kodi. It seems the sync only work in one direction : Emyb to Kodi.

Hello. For some reason Kodi+Embycon have started transcoding every video file even the ones I already watched without any transcoding. I decided to check embycon's settings and for some unknown reason direct playback got disabled (it used to be enabled). I enabled it again but it hasn't helped. It suddenly started happening today like 15 minutes ago, for me and my friend who is using my server. Any tips would be appreciated. PS Kodi 18.6 Embycon 1.9.91 Embycon skin cloner 10.04 PPS If I disable "Allow audio playback that requires transcoding" and "Allow video playback that requires transcoding" then after it tries to transcode it, it starts playing it normally without using ffmpeg but with no subs( it can't burn them into the stream coz I disabled transcoding on my server))

So I have a weird situation involving one specific show and embycon. Long story short, my parents use my old Minix u9h box running the latest CoreELEC to access my emby server, and I set them up with embuary & embycon. This setup has been rock solid for the last month or so (and even before that when they were using a fireTV & stick). However, tonight, the show that they are in the middle of watching just sort of disappeared. What I mean by that is the show is still listed under TV shows, but when they click into it, nothing shows up, it is just blank. I thought it might be an embuary issue, so I (painstakingly) walked them through how to switch to the default skin, but the same thing happens. I had them enable debug logging and had them try to access the show through embycon directly, and the same thing happened: https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/ffKskNwddj/ The show they are trying to watch is 'Jamestown'. I had them switch back to embuary, and noticed that Jamestown shows up under 'Next Up', so I had them play it (weirdly, they have to press play probably 3 times before it actually plays, but that is an issue for another thread), and it plays fine. It is just for some reason now showing up in the list of TV shows. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated @@TeamB Thanks

Hi @@TeamB - Is there a way to have multiple instances of embycon running (to account for different users)? Right now, I use both E4K & EC to separate the shows that my wife & I watch from the shows that my oldest daughter watches. My younger daughter has her own set of shows (currently lumped in with my older daughter's shows), and while neither really care that much, they sometimes watch the same shows at different paces, which they complain about. Is there a way to have multiple instances of embycon running on the same kodi profile, signed into different emby users? I tried just creating a manual copy of embycon, and then changing the add-on id to embycon2, and while that works, whenever I click on an item in either embycon library to play, I get double popups, plus a bunch of other random freezes & weirdness, which aren't there when I only have one instance running. Hi there, Is it the way to have a control over user paused content? I mean can we adjust pause when connected by EmbyCon? For now a lot of my users complain the when they paused some movie it's gone after bout 3 min I know that this connection is reset by the server so this is the question... Can I adjust it for 1h for example?

Hi all brand new to Emby (and EmbyCon) today and really getting stuck in and its brilliant! I have an issue that I have come accross that I can't seem to solve, that I wonder could it be a bug? When I scroll down the Movies listing (in All Movies under EmbyCon) Kodi crashes. I have two installs and both act slightly differently but are triggered in the exact same way. Result when the above is done: FireStick 4k - Kodi crashes and drops back to the FireTV menu Ubuntu 18.04 Server - Kodi service remains running and even shows under "top" but the TV switches to no source found (its like the HDMI has been pulled out but Kodi is still running) My Setup: Emby running under Docker on Ubuntu 18.04 server with Kodi Leia 18.5 frontend and EmbyCon installed from the Emby repo. Fire TV 4k with Kodi Leia 18.5 running and again EmbyCon from the repo. Hi guys, I just have noticed, that if I play anything from Firefox or Chrome (latest on both) and I "Play on another Device" and select EmbyCon (I have Kodi on a separate HTPC) then in the browser, the volume remains at Zero, actual volume is non-0 though, and I can adjust it with the slider and the volume changes on the HTPC system, but it jumps back to Zero in the browser every time. Hello, after a good hour of research and tests, I fail to operate the automatic playback of the next audio track. Everything worked without worries before, but since yesterday, no way. I have not made any updates or changes to the configuration to cause this. Seeing that I could not unblock the problem, I uninstalled and reinstalled in new, without success. I am now under Kodi 18.3, Embycon 1.9.18 and Embuary 18.7.13. Apologies if this is in the wrong place or has been asked and answered. I searched the forums for a few hours, looked at the wiki, but I'm still not sure how to fix this (I'm sure its me). I just downloaded Emby two days ago and started working with it (trying to get away from Plex), and I love it so far. The only actual problem I'm having is that every time I open Kodi, it asks me to log in to the server (which is on the same machine). If I do the username and password, it will tell me it's invalid, if I cancel, the window pops up again asking for login, and then if I cancel again, it goes away and *voila* I was connected all along. Everything is fine and all the libraries are connected and working. I have embycon and emby for kodi both installed (going around different forums I couldn't tell if I needed both or could choose just one), so maybe one is duplicating the login the other already knows about? I have the username and password stored in Kodi along with the IP of the server (I left the name blank, but I was wondering if I should add that?), and everyone seems to be happily communicating with the exception of the login demand every time I start Kodi. Is there a setting in Kodi that's forcing the duplicate login demand? I haven't come across anything that looks like it would cause that, but it keeps happening. I'll be happy to post a log, if need be, but this seemed a like a fairly straightforward "disable X button" kind of question. One other thing (if you read this far--thank you), My set up is pretty simple: Two macs, one hosts the server and runs Kodi (with embycon and embuary) on the TV in the living room, another copy of Kodi (with embycon amd emburary) in the bedroom. Do I need two different accounts/IDs to keep those logged into the server and sync settings, or can I just use the one account for both? often after a fresh restart of my PC, and launching Kodi, EmbyCon does not connect to my Emby server and display my media libraries...i have to go to EmbyCon settings and have it search for the Emby server, which it finds then connects OK...Kodi does seem to recognize my Emby log-in credentials at start-up (with a pop up window saying "Welcome" or "you are logged in as" or something like that), but it doesn't lead to connection to my media libraries....i thought this was only happening after an EmbyCon update, but it happens more often then that, like pretty much after every reboot doesn't EmbyCon automatically look for an Emby server when launched? i am using the latest stable build of Kodi, latest EmbyCon update, and latest Emby Server.,..and using the latest Embuary skin

I have been using Kodi with Embycon on my Android TV for a while now. Let me explain my setup first. TCL iFFalcon Android TV 4K 55" with 2.5 GB RAM and 16 GB ROM Android 8.0 (Google Certified, with Play Store) Sony HT-RT3 speakers connected via HDMI ARC Kodi 18.1 Embuary Skin Embycon Plugin I use Kodi to play videos from an Emby server over WiFi (on the web, not local). Videos are mostly 1080P with the occasional 4K playback as well. Everything was working fine when my setup was Kodi 17 on Android 7.0. I updated to Kodi 18 (stable) when it was officially available on Play Store. Coincidentally 2 days after that, my TV updated to Android 8.0 via OTA. Now the problem is when I am watching a video, the playback stops randomly and UI returns to Kodi library screen. Sometimes I can click the same video under "Continue Watching" section and resume playback. But occasionally that won't work and I will have to exit Kodi and start again. I am not sure if this is caused by Kodi 18 or Android 8.0 update on my TV. I thought it could be an issue with the Emby server and so I installed the official Emby app on my TV. I tried playing different videos for close to 7 hours over a span of 3 days and not once did it crash. I am attaching a link to the log I pulled from TV. I'm looking for some under the hood info - from advanced users that have built a multi-client environment. My existing system is pretty basic, as I like to keep things simple, and in the event of a problem I don't have to muck through a maze of "how did I do this again?" I have a Synology NAS - that provides all the storage for my media files. Using all the built-in 'add video' sources within Kodi - linked to my NAS. I've also enabled a MariaDB10 app, on the NAS to support the MySql feature within Kodi - so all my clients (multiple FireTV & PCs (Windows,MAC)) sync to the same dB. This all works quite well, however a bit complex configuration on each client to maintain if I make the same change or add a source, etc. So here's where my questions begin... I've installed Emby Server on one of my Synology NAS boxes, actually, this particular one is an Xpenology device. I chose that one because it has much more HP than my official Synology boxes. I've also purchased a lifetime Emby account. I've built a Kodi (18.1) client on one of my Fire TV televisions - from scratch. Installed the basic Addons that I require for my use ... OpenSubtitles, Trakt, Lyrics & Backup. I've also just installed Emby/con - addons. After running and testing - to the Kodi local dB all seems to be working well. I'm not sure how the updates to the local client dB updates, and if there is by directional flow when it comes to Trakt data, and partially watched positions, etc... Would it be better to switch to using the Mysql as a common dB source for my clients as I did before? or just stick to the Kodi local dB file dB? I'm thinking using the Mysql dB would be a bit redundant and just complicate things. That I should just let Emby do all the dB work, and keep the local client dBs updated. any HELP, feedback and or comments would be welcome. So far I'm pretty impressed with Emby server.

Hi - not sure if this is an Emby for Kodi bug, Embuary bug, or EmbyCon bug, but I noticed something strange today while navigating my library. I have a home videos & photos library set up on my server for some downloaded youtube videos for offline playback. I use embuary on Kodi RC2, and when I navigate to the home videos library shortcut on my homescreen going through emby for kodi, when viewing the videos in the 'wide' view, all of the video thumbnails show the the xxxx-landscape.jpg for each video (which is a generic file I put into each folder for each video, and isn't a thumb of the actual video), instead of the xxxx-poster.jpg for each video (which is a thumbnail of each individual video, and is auto-generated by the emby server). However, when I navigate to the the same library shortcut on my homescreen, but this time go through embycon, the video thumbnails all show the thumbnail of the actual video, which indicates to me that embuary is showing the xxxx-poster.jpg. (Or is it actually just refreshing a single random element as SortBy=Random&limit=1 leads to believe?) Is it normal that these queries take such a long amount of time? After fighting with the other emby addon for a long time, which occasionally just refused to play certain videos for no reason, I was very happy to see an alternative choice in embycon. The one thing that I can't seem to figure out how to do is to show movie ratings while browsing the movies section of embycon. Tried: multiples skins (estuary, confluence, xconfluence, a few others), all settings, and multiple devices. Is this possible? Am I just an idiot and I missed a setting somewhere? I really don't care where the ratings come from. Is there a skin that does this with embycon? Can I hack this into confluence?
