Hello, Recently, when starting Emby Theatre on my PC the app displays a black screen with only the emby logo on it. I have to guess where the "close window" button is (upper right corner) to kill the app. Windows reports (Task Manager) three Electron and one Emby sessions running, taking 0.2 - 0.3% CPU and about 80 - 82 MB of memory. Last activity before this was to delete a user account through Emby Server on my NAS (QNAP). After trying Emby on other devices, I found this: - Emby has this issue on a device accessed by the deleted user. - There is no problem on a device where the user was not logged in. - There is no problem on a device with a first-time Emby Theatre install. From all these, it seems that the deleted user left some traces related to those devices which prevent the app to launch on them. Is there a way to remove a device from Emby's records (not just from the device list, which I did)? Are devices registered by an id or IP address somewhere? How can I fix this problem? (10 hours later) SOLUTION: After a few hours of experiments, Emby Theatre (and similar apps on TV and iphone) came back to normal. It seems that the issue was solved after I stopped the Emby server on QNAP, rebooted the NAS, then restarted Emby. .

When I play some content, and it's always the same, the screen turns black and the app gets stuck with the black screen, only way to recover from this is to restart the TV. It does work through the Windows browser, but not on the LG App. Attached info about the file. My TV is a OLED55B7V. rsl_not_working_media.txt

Anyone here with a 2019 Shield connected to a Dolby Vision capable TV that works? I have just bought a 2019 Shield Pro, but when I enable the Dolby Vision HDR mode, I lose the picture on my LG C7 TV. The only way I have worked out how to get the picture back, is to Factory Reset the Shield, although I have since found there may be another way that might work. This is not an Emby issue, just asking for any input. Thanks.

emby when direct played doesnt play the actual video but just the audio (on my s10+) i am not sure where the logs are for direct android playback but heres the media info media info:- media info.txt but it obviously works fine when transcoded transcoding log:- ffmpeg-transcode-70d9b027-cb02-429a-b510-d46b2be039ff_1.txt an example of my problem:- my assumption is that it doesnt support h264 10bit but i might be wrong cause it supports h265 10bit and MX player can play this video just fine Screen_Recording_20200807-053405_Emby_2.mp4

I had been running Emby on Windows Server 2016 for some time and watching movies and TV shows on my Mi Box S (MiBox4) Android box on Kodi with Emby plugin without any problem. Last week I migrated my PC to Windows 10 Pro and reinstalled Emby server on it, also did a fresh install of Kodi on my Android box to re-sync everything. Since then, it's been a debugging nightmare for me as no matter what video, large and small, high bit-rate and crap sd, video playback stops randomly every few minutes! First I thought that it might be my router configs (It's a 2.4GHz running at 40MHz wide channel 150Mbps N)... I kept playing with the configs, replaced DD-WRT with OpenWRT, then with the original D-Link firmware, then back to the latest version of DD-WRT; no matter what I did the videos kept stopping. Then I started messing with Kodi on Android's advancedsettings.xml's cache/buffer values, I even installed Emby's Android app, still the same, video drops randomly, sometimes with the "source too slow" message. I then came to my PC, changed the Realtek NIC's configs, Windows registry values, Firewall settings, routes, even reinstalled and reconfigured Emby numerous times, it even got worse! Now I come to thee completely exhausted and out of ideas, looking for help... Any ideas? Stopped at 713000 ms I bet it's some kind of f*-up on Microsoft's side as I did not have ANY problem with the same PC, Router, and Box on Windows Server 2016 even with playing very-high-bitrate 30GB 1080p 4-hour movies! If it needs mentioning, there's no problem playing videos on Emby server localhost.

TV : LG Smart TV (OLED55B8PLA) - Software : 05.10.50 Emby Server version: 4.4.0.40 Operating system: Unix 4.4.59.0 I have some strange crash when i play specific files only in my LG TV This files is : Anime with subtitle VOSTFR Stream is ok with Android phone and with computer But why i have only the problem with LG (i think the problem is subtitle) In my tv LG i have this scenario : Start 2s show and black screen and start again and black screen ... i have this message error (in french) : "Aucun flux compatible n'est actuellement disponible." Hi, I am having problem playing some content on the app for LG Smart TV. I am using the version 1.0.24 of Emby client and the TV model is TV UH650V. Some content plays with no issue and some of them enter the media player with black screen and no audio. The Emby Server (4.4.0.40) shows that the TV is playing the show. If I force the transcending (lowering quality), the file is transcoded and it plays correctly. Moreover, the files that do not work on LG TV, plays nicely on other client (direct play/streaming). It seems that the container is not supported, but the LG app is not asking the server to transcode... Can you help me, please? Thank you

(Emby Android Mobile LGV20) What used to work now has a Black Screen and a Spinning Circle every time I open the app. I am getting ready to go on vacation and need this flipping thing to work. I have restarted my server and the devices, uninstalled, reinstalled, followed other threads regarding this issue and their suggested fixes. I am not sure how to send a log when the app wont open.

Месяц назад купил премьер подписку, но уйти с браузерного плеера так и не смог, ни Emby Theater с магазина приложений, ни приложение с сайта Emby ни хочет воспроизводить видео. Касается в том числе и трейлеров. Звуковая дорожка есть, видео нет. Чего только не пробовал - нихрена не помогает. Может кто сталкивался?

Hi there, I recently rebuilt my HTPC and reinstalled Emby Server, Emby Theatre, Media Portal's TV Server, MP Extended and the Media Portal plugin. Since then, I have had no end of trouble trying to get Live TV to work properly. I either get a black screen with sound or video with no sound. I have tried tweaking the settings in ET but no luck so they are now all back at default. Strangely if I get sound and no video and I close ET, I can catch a glimpse of video as it is closing. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening? It's been quite frustrating since this was all working before I rebuilt my HTPC. Live TV has always been an issue for me and I really miss the TV from WMC which always worked flawlessly. I have never been able to get Emby Theater (software not Win store app)to play on my desktop. It has 3 monitor setup. I hadn't gotten around to making a post about it. Emby theater will just play audio of live tv, but just show a black screen. Same black screen with audio plays with local H264 files. When i try to playback my live TV recordings (mpeg2) it just loads it for a sec(black screen) then stops going back to the video description page. Doesn't matter what monitor I load it up on. No change if I toggle the Video rendered form Madvr to EVR etc. I disable my 2 other monitors via the Nvidia control panel and only use my primary monitor, Emby Theater plays all media fine. Currently using Emby Theater 2.5.40. But this issue I noted even back when it first came out. I did it on my GTX 970 and still does it on my GTX 1080. Nvidia drivers made no differance but are current. Still using the same monitors. Windows 10. Not sure on how to get any logs or more info from the software itself. Nothing seems to be reported on the server or transcode logs on the server itself that would indicate an issue. They look the same each time i test it, multi monitor enabled or not.

Black screen in Chrome and connection failure in Emby Theater app

Hello all, Looking for a little help on a couple issues: 1. I have Emby installed on my laptop and my father's (separate homes/networks). They're both setup the same way with the server/web app running on the same machine on Win 10 Home. Both installs run the server under localhost and accessed via the chrome browser as http://localhost:8096/web/home.html. Everything was running fine on my father's machine until today. Now Chrome just displays a black screen when he uses the web app. He indicates he doesn't even see any of the navigation. When he first told me he didn't see any movies I thought he accidentally deleted the file folder but that's when I found out the entire screen is black. To the best of my knowledge nothing has changed on his laptop between yesterday and today but it's possible an update happened (either Windows or Chrome). I had him restart the server and clear the cache on chrome/restart chrome but this did nothing. Rebooting the laptop also didn't resolve the issue. I then had him try the URL in the Win 10 native browser "Edge" and it works fine so it's obviously just a Chrome thing. I found other posts on this but the only resolution seemed to be that it "fixed itself". I believe he's on Emby Version 3.2.13.0 like me but I'm not positive. I updated him recently but he could be a version behind. Any thoughts on what else to check? My last resort was going to be to uninstall/re-install chrome and Emby if needed. I haven't encountered this myself which is why I'm at a loss as to what the issue might be given it's working on another browser. The only problem is that Edge and Firefox don't have chromecast ability otherwise I would have him use one of those for now. 2. Given I couldn't resolve the black screen of death over the phone with him I discovered the Emby Theater app in the Windows store and thought I could get him to install that until I can fix Chrome. I first tested this on my laptop before I walk through an install with him over the phone. Problem is I can't get this to work on my laptop. I get "Connection Failure" connecting to the local server. I found similar posts on this and supposedly the requirement is to be on Win 10 Anniversary version which I am. How do I troubleshoot this? Is there something on the server I have to enable? I tried just connecting on the server that it already found on my machine but that gives a Connection Failure so I tried adding a server with my local IP and "localhost" but still the same thing. Are there any ideas on this? Is there something to look at in the server log or does the app have it's own logs? I couldn't find a version number for the app in the store. I'm assuming it's the latest. If logs are needed from my father's machine I will provide them on Saturday when I go visit. I was hoping there might be some things I could try that aren't mentioned above. Thanks!- 3 replies

Hi, Playback on individual devices works great but I have a problem when using several at once. The video starts as it should and runs smoothly. Any devices that are currently playing is affected. When I start or stop a video on the 2nd or 3rd device all of the other devices screens will go black for a second or 2. It only happens at start or stop, not on pause or seek. I've tried on a mobile phone, 2 desktops, a laptop and a raspberry pi and they all are affected. The problem occurs when using addon mode or direct paths and also occurs when direct playing or transcoding. It does not happen when using an external player like mpc-hc which leads me to believe it's something updating in Kodi to sync with emby's watched list. Any insights would be appreciated.

WMC Crashing on Wake from Sleep - Since Installing Emby

I just downloaded the latest server (3.0.5786.0) and WMC Classic Application on the weekend for my windows 7 Media Centre PC. Since this installation every time I wake the Media Centre from sleep I get a black screen and WMC note that it is not responding. I have to then shut down WMC and start it again. I will note that this is only now occurring. WMC did used to give me a black screen on wake but this only required pulling up the Task manager and WMC would go back to normal. This updated version seems to be causing something new to happen. Love Emby but my Pregnant partner is getting annoyed at the Black screen and restarting of media center so I would like to get this fixed.- 6 replies

Solved: It was actually one of my adblock-extension (fair adblock) in chrome that was the problem. Works fine now! server-63594760418.txt So, my Emby server wanted to restart to apply a new update. But something seems to be wrong, this is all I see now: What I've tried: System reboot, delete plugin dll:s.

Sleep/wake issue when in MBC with serverwmc and maybe codecs

So I am having some sleep wake issues when sleeping the pc from media browser classic. I found a few root causes and hoping someone can help. I kept getting a black wmc screen so whenever I woke the pc so.... 1) I uninstalled the display driver but kept the current catalyst control center. Then I let windows auto detect. Now it shows a version from 4/3/13. I think it says 12.1. Not exactly sure because I'm at work and not home right now. So I did this and also played with regular sleep, not hybrid sleep. It would sleep and wake fine when sleeping from live tv playing, the guide screen, or the main WMC screen. 2) Then I tried sleep from the media browser classic screen. Slept fine, but I was not able to access my tuners after wake. Even the hdhomerun software wouldn't detect the tuners. I had to restart the pc to access the tuners again. I found this to be the wmcserver plugin. I had this issue before but reinstalled it recently thinking the problem was something else. So I uninstalled wmcserver and it's plugin in media browser server and that issue is solved. No more tuner errors on sleep/wake from media browser classic. 3) lastly I tried sleep/wake from media browser classic while playing a movie or show. Sleeps fine but wakes to a black screen, but I can hear navigation sounds if I press keys on the remote. If I press live tv, live tv plays and everything works fine. So now I think I need to find a better codec pack or settings. I'm using shark007 but maybe I need to deviate away from shark codecs. What does everyone recommend for codecs? Anyone else using serverwmc and having it freeze or lock up tuners?
