  1. IOS 13.1 / Emby App 1.8.3 / Emby QNAP-Server 4.2.1.0 When trying to start playing a song nothing happens, When trying to start watching a movie, a message appears "playback error" No compatible stream. No matter AVI or mp4 Within Opera browser, on the same IPad, everything works fine. No problems at all. It has nothing to do with the new IOS 13.1, because it did not work under IOS 12.x either. What may be the problem? It's much nicer using the app instead of Opera Browser.
  2. Hi All, I'm sure I've seen this brought up some time ago, but I couldn't find a topic in here. I was wondering if in the future it will be possible to use the Auto-Organize feature on movies, as well as television. I love being able to add television shows to my watched folder and have MBS take care of the renaming and organizing. Having a similar feature for movies would be great as well (as some other users agree, from what I remember of it being discussed in the past). I don't remember what the developer response was to the possibility of this feature, this is why I'm making a new thread for it. Thanks, Patrick

    Question about Trakt settings

All my tv shows and movies were marked on the trakt site as collected, but have noticed today that nothing is now marked as collected. Not sure if it is the trakt plugin, a setting in the plugin or an issue on the trakt website. Can someone check to see if their content on the trakt site is marked as collected? Many thanks
  4. Hi, I'm kind of new here. I wonder if it is possible, or is there any plugin, for people to order movies. At my school, we started using Emby, and I would like to know if there is a way to create a page, or something like that, that teachers have the option of ordering a movie. Thank you, thank you in advance

    missing media

everytime I download media like movies, or tv shows from torrent sites and run a scan with malware bytes or win cleaner. my movies and tv show disappear. I've unchecked the option to not let outside accounts delete media. my account is the only account I have on emby. I turned off the 12 hour scan, and the media was still taken when I ran a scan. I also have plex and the media source where I get he emby media from is the same source I get the plex media from but the movies and tv shows on emby disappear. the movies and tv shows on plex remain. why is this happening and how to stop it?
  6. It would be good if we had the ability to list movies that start with “The” by the letter “T”. For example, currently a movie called “The Howling” will be listed among the “H” movies, but can we at least give people the option to list it among the “T” movies please. The reason for this is to have parity with how movies are organised within folders on your PC.
  7. Rename 'MOVIES' menu option to "A-Z" and 'Shows' under TV to "A-Z" to make it more obvious that what the option is!!! An A-Z picker. Also the Roku way to show the A-Z picker is visually nicer, maybe an option to show horizontal preview per letter or current all letters on scrolling page.

    One imports, the other doesn't

I have a directory listed as /media/movies with the permissions If I have emby import the movies directory, nothing will get imported. However, if I have movies2 imported the files are seen. The directories and files all have 755 permissions with the user & group being the same in both directories. I can't get anything from the logs that would help. What is more weird to me is that if I set the content type to TV on the /media/movies import, the files are imported, but not with the content type set as MOVIES. I'm stumped on trying to figure this one out. I only have a monthly premiere pass to see if I want to leave Plex. As you can see here, the files are being seen.. And when I complete setting up the import this is all I get.. what logs would be needed to diagnose this issue?

Plex finds Movie Emby doesnt, why?

Hiya Just testing out Emby and have a weird issue. Plex (my original media server) found a new movie added straight away, to my surprise it even got the correct artwork with no assistance. Emby fails to even acknowledge the file exists and I have no idea why. Can anyone offer any tips pls? Thx

How to enable Movie / TV Show count

I was wondering if there is a way for me to enable the movie and TV Show count, I would like to how many movies, TV Shows (series, epeisode ) I have. Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks
  11. Problem occurs when the app is already playing a content, e.g. movie or music. I hit the cast button and choose a Chromecast device. Chromecast starts playing the content, remote controls on Emby app are operational (by using them I can control the casting) but... the previously existing casting to the android app will continue to play. Only circumvenction is to stop Chromecast casting, select the app as the target, start a new content and then stoping it. Tested it on three servers and on different scenarios (e.g.: local and remote, music and video). Does it happen to you?

Separate 'Additional Parts' of a movie

I've been racking my brain for hours and googling for days for this... I have a movie trilogy - specifically the Karate Kid - that has grouped itself together as a single movie. These to me are separate movies and I should be able to list them as such. Other movies don't give me this problem, or at very least there's been an option to split those apart (i.e. Mockingjay parts 1 & 2 were lumped together as one, but I had the option to split them apart.) Why can't I split this one trilogy?

    WMC won't start mp4 movies

Hello! After the last most recent auto-update of Emby for Media Center, I started having a problem with just the Mp4 movies, but not the TV episodes. I press the Play button on the menu and get a dark screen. When I move my mouse I see the control buttons on the bottom of the screen (Stop, Play, Record, etc) but no time length indicator. The Play button displays the || pause like the movie is playing. I press the square Stop button which takes me back to the movie info page and buttons, then I get the spinning wheel and the page goes dark and the time indicator appears and the movie starts up. This is an annoyance, but at least I can get them to play. I have uninstalled/reinstalled E-WMC and the server both. I am still getting that small hang on the movies so far. TV episodes run right away. These are all the same MP4's I have for over a year or more. Any ideas?
  14. Okay, so out of nowhere I had two problems occur at once... Collections stopped working. Movies and TV are now displaying singular. I tried turning Collections off and back on, but it didn't help. My Adult library is set as "Home Videos and Photos". I did have two folders in it that were displaying correctly as movies (did not inherit). Now one of them (the actual Movies folder) has changed (it behaves as if it is storing videos) and I can't get it to change back. I did not receive any error messages and I have not tried any corrective actions yet for fear of making it worse. Since these two things happened at the same time, I am really concerned that an automatic update broke my system (which was working great). How do I fix this and should I turn updates off? Thanks. server-63654940800.txt server-63655027196.txt server-63655027200.txt server-63655084107.txt server-63655084144.txt server-63655113599.txt server-63655199996.txt server-63655200000.txt
  15. I'm on Server Version 3.2.70.0 on Windows 10. I don't know when this changed, but previously (I believe) Emby Server would recognize a VIDEO_TS folder in the Extras folder in the following directory format: Dark City (1998)\Extras\Gallery and Metropolis Comparison (Text)\VIDEO_TS And then Emby Theater would present that item "Gallery and Metropolis Comparison (Text)" in the lists of Extras, where it could be played via the External Player I have configured (in my case, VLC). The reason I do this is that sometimes there are extras such as image galleries and text content which are only available via the DVD menu. So I copy only the files within the original VIDEO_TS folder which are necessary for the DVD-menu-only extras I want and put those in a folder like the above example. Currently these folders are no longer being recognized and displayed for Movies, though it does still work for folders with the TV "Special" season folder. It is also possible that I am not remembering correctly and that it actually never worked for Movie the Extras folder and has only ever worked for TV Special folder. I don't think that is the case though -- I think it worked for the Movie Extras folder at some point in the past, as I normally test these things when I am converting a movie. I understand this is an edge case which might not effect many users, but figured it wouldn't hurt to mention it in case it is something that can be easily fixed. If folks have suggestions for how to achieve my above goals using a different route I'm open to that. Thanks!

    Movie Subfolders not discovered

After I gave up and uninstalled everything and then reinstalled so I could see the files from within emby client I discovered that it is not seeing any files that are in subfolders. The movies "2001: A Space Odyssey", "2010", "Dune", "Theory of Everything", and "Twelfth Night or What You Will" do not show up in the library while the other movies do. If I move the files from the subfolder into the main Movies folder it then discovers it and lists them in the library. All the files and folders have the same owner and rights. Before the update I was able to see all of the movies even when they were in subfolders. Then after the update I couldn't see anything. Now after deleted everything and reinstalling I cannot get movies that are in subfolders. I wanted to put each in a subfolder so I could add special features like subtitles. Leason I am learning: don't do the upgrade?
  17. As the title implies, Emby is occasionally is showing episodes of TV shows in the Movies library section of Kodi. Specifically, the problem has occurred with various episodes of Rick and Morty as well as Family Guy. The Metatdata editor properly lists the episodes as TV, and they are located in the correct storage locations with their counterparts. What's weirder is that the problem isn't limited to specific episodes, the only constant unhappy child is "Family Guy 16x01 - The Emmy Winning Episode". You see, if I Scan the library, or even completely rebuild it, I get a nice shuffle of which episodes will randomly appear in the Movies Directory. I'm at a loss. PS: I know the FAQ says not to zip log files, but I was warned repeatedly about not being allowed to upload .docx files. Sorry! Thanks! 100817-128pm.zip
  18. I have a movie that I am trying to add to my Movie Library but not sure how since it doesn't appear in either of the 2 online movie databases ?? The movie is - Avatar - If you don't play the game, the games plays you. (And no it is not the Avatar your thinking of made in 2009) Does Emby have a 'blank' or 'template' movie page that can be loaded which doesn't require a IMDb or TMDb number so I can add the details manually ? --------- Yes this movie exists, there is a copy for sale on EBay Canada - http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Avatar-DVD-If-You-Dont-Play-The-Game-the-Game-Plays-You-776-/172861911991?hash=item283f5f73b7:g:8BsAAOSwZG9WhuQk Here is a copy of my cover - Thanks

    Unable to watch DVD rips

I have backed up a DVD into a folder that Emby looks for Movies in using the command: dvdbackup -i /dev/sr0 -o /output/folder -M This completed successfully and the emby user has read and write permissions on the folder and all sub files. This creates a full disk backup with extras and everything. 20. I don´t know why "continue watching" seccion doesn't change eventhough I watch some movies for a few minutes.
  21. Hi, I am having a couple of playback issues on Xbox One. 1. Remote users are having issues playing some movies. Trailers play fine, but as soon as the movie starts, is pauses and stutters. 2. Local user (me). Watching tv shows, I have the same issues as remote users with movies, the first episode will play fine, but after the following episode stutters. I have attached the logs. server-63626256000.txt ffmpeg-transcode-78826040-b2df-47d0-92ae-b540314ce645.txt ffmpeg-transcode-b2af8472-5f6a-42b1-8aba-3bbd5d0fb2fb.txt ffmpeg-transcode-e9288225-4cce-49ba-8273-2b0e5f660971.txt server-63626215162.txt ffmpeg-transcode-967cfbe1-a16b-466b-993b-9164af1b6483.txt ffmpeg-remux-aae6faa7-e958-4fe3-bd66-a97f93b51960.txt ffmpeg-remux-e92f4e20-0896-4e89-825c-859eb71b3c02.txt ffmpeg-transcode-c8cf8c17-5135-4c46-a672-6e4b7f138f28.txt ffmpeg-transcode-e53d6eb9-2354-4841-869b-27d7f916f103.txt ffmpeg-transcode-b9443812-6f94-4e3d-99ef-ef8512d46fcd.txt ffmpeg-transcode-cab539ac-7156-4e4f-920a-52114c7142e9.txt ffmpeg-remux-4505b659-7594-41bd-bc1a-46a73c6192a6.txt ffmpeg-transcode-955ee7da-0afc-4038-a1cb-1752b3fb78d4.txt ffmpeg-transcode-878161c9-90c7-4d9f-980b-a1361cf5b3a2.txt ffmpeg-transcode-b282c271-3dce-4839-8375-b6245b322edc.txt ffmpeg-transcode-a5bdf132-5913-4f32-83c8-a068020f6e03.txt ffmpeg-transcode-83bc11fe-b0be-41b0-b397-bbf44dc2134e.txt ffmpeg-transcode-111fe852-e274-4983-810b-70db4e8589df.txt ffmpeg-transcode-63087841-b0c7-413a-a949-a72be0449b1c.txt ffmpeg-transcode-fc254cd6-a688-4347-a968-fff5d1a42c6f.txt ffmpeg-transcode-3a4632e5-d89f-4091-a94d-d2b72fcfe86f.txt ffmpeg-transcode-17128f8e-9634-4d12-ae62-748bbe141026.txt ffmpeg-transcode-d588a594-71df-410b-ae6a-9b0a840c2d7e.txt ffmpeg-transcode-1e97a083-6432-49ff-a90c-e7618ac195b8.txt ffmpeg-transcode-3f20e3c5-12fc-4218-89bd-11e92ae105a2.txt ffmpeg-transcode-32d8775a-2a87-4afb-b282-16be695b6a6f.txt ffmpeg-transcode-41e4aab0-ea2e-4c50-9680-ca74e63d7b8a.txt ffmpeg-transcode-48d23ffb-fb95-41d5-8216-72247459869f.txt ffmpeg-transcode-054577c8-91f9-444d-8048-aaf3ca21bde9.txt
  22. Hello, I noticed in latest version that Favorites comes up empty? It is only under Movies it is empty. Under TV-Series it shows normal. Is it a bug? P.S: I still consider this to be the best App for Emby. On my "wish list" for future featurs is: A frontpage (homepage) similar to the webversion (with nice overview/suggestions of all sections). Full support for remote control MCE (as it is now only some navigation can be done by remote)
  23. When browsing all movies, all "view" options in "Select View" work except "List." Attempting to view the movies in a list results first in a return to the "Suggestions" landing for the Movies folder, and then if attempted again quickly, in a webpage error ("This page is having a problem loading"). All other view types (Banner, Poster, Thumb, etc.) work perfectly.
  24. Ok, this one actually freaked me out a little. I was watching a movie through Emby. I decided it sucked and deleted it from in the program (trash can). Then I went back to the movie list and all the pictures were gone. When I went to the server, in the directories, all the NFOs and JPGs were deleted. Worst part is that I rebooted everything then told it to scan the directories and it does not update. I am starting to re idendify all the movies. Any idea why? Also, only the movies. The TV shows are fine and so it the music files. Don Epilogue: a lot of my movie files are gone. Deleted. I think is related. Not sure how or why.
  25. When I initially created a library for documentaries since the majority are movies I selected movies. However since also TV Shows are within this library, how is it being dealt with? Some of the TV shows are not being displayed properly even though all the meta data from MB 2.6 is present and displays correctly in MB 2.6. Do I have to go through each of them in the Metadata manager and adjust info and images or can these shows individually be changed to content type TV. Finally if changing the library content to Home videos how will it treat the mix of movies and TV shows? Thanks O2G
