  1. Basically, before a certain update, you were able to mark show in absolute order file order type and still be able to create custom folders while still maintaining metadata for that show. Now, it doesn't even show the folders and outright displays it as "complete series." Here's an example: This is a customized seasonal folder I created. Emby used to show the folders along with the respective files in it while in absolute file order type. Now it's showing up like this. Is there an option to revert back that old file structure?
  2. Greetings, It would be fantastic to organize the movies within collections in chronological order based on the story. If there were at least an option to sort them by "added on," it would be possible to arrange them manually. Unfortunately, collections currently lack options to customize the order of movies, which limits this functionality. I hope you can consider this suggestion for future updates. Thank you for your attention.
  3. Hello, I’m trying to organize a movie from an anime series that could be considered a special. My goal is to have it appear within the series as a movie in the "Seasons" section, and not as an episode. In the directory, I created a Season 00 folder and placed the movie there as a special. However, I want it to remain in chronological order alongside the other seasons. The issue is that assigning it to Season 0 positions it at the very beginning of the list. If I change it to Season 3, it might cause issues in the future when Season 3 is released. For this reason, I left it as Season 00 and thought I could adjust it using the "Sort by Title" option in the metadata to achieve the desired order. However, so far, I haven’t been able to understand how this feature works. I’ve tried changing the title in the metadata, using "Season 3," the letter "C," the number "3," and other options, but it still doesn’t organize as I want. Could someone explain how to correctly use the "Sort by Title" function? Or, alternatively, does anyone know another method to chronologically organize specials within a series?
  4. Hi guys, I got some problems when using the Collection and subs. @Happy2Play Can we use the oldest movie/show's year for the Collection? I put The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan into a collection. The Collection uses the date of the latest show, not the first one. I did change the year of the Collection, but nothing changed. Second, is there any way we can customize the order inside a Collection? In Plex, we can easily change the orders by moving the title without changing the name. In Emby, I only saw two options: the name and date. The last question, can Emby add another option --- just the "Chinese" for the preferred subtitle language? Not Chinese Simplified or Traditional, just the Chinese. Because some videos contain an English sub, which is set as default. Sometimes, the default hard sub is English, and the Traditional Chinese soft sub cannot show up because no Simplified Chinese sub exists.

  6. Hi, I'm kind of new here. I wonder if it is possible, or is there any plugin, for people to order movies. At my school, we started using Emby, and I would like to know if there is a way to create a page, or something like that, that teachers have the option of ordering a movie. Thank you, thank you in advance

    Songs no longer in order

I use Emby Theater a lot to play music in my home. One to three weeks ago (not exactly sure when) album tracks no longer appeared in the right order; track 1 first, next track 2, then track 3, etc... At first, if I hit "play all" when I was viewing the whole album the tracks would play in the correct order. Now if I do that, Emby will just play in a random order. Because this started happening a few weeks ago I thought I might be because of a recent update to the Emby Theater. So, I installed 3.0.5, 3.0.3, and 3.0.2 on a different computer and it's doing the same thing. If I use the web client or the Android app everything is how it should be. Since there haven't been any Server updates lately I can't help but think that I changed something but for the life of me I can't figure out what. Does anyone have any ideas?
  8. Hi emby support, with the new version of the emby app, that supports audio track changing without reencoding the audio tracks (great work btw!) there is a little cosmetic error in the LG Emby App. When changing the audio track during playback (OSD) it seems like only audio tracks are selectable that can be played without transcoding, but in the list there are all audio tracks visible. A little example... a movie has the following audio tracks: 1. TrueHD german - needs transcoding 2. DTS german - directplay 3. TrueHD english - needs transcoding 4. DTS english - directplay 5. AC3 english - directplay When I start playback from the Emby menu, I choose the second audio track and the movie starts correctly playing the german DTS track. Now when I open the OSD and try to select the englisch DTS track it's not working. When I choose TrueHD englisch, it plays the englisch AC3 track, when I choose german DTS it plays the englisch DTS track and when I choose the german TrueHD track, it plays the german DTS. It seems that only audio tracks that are playable without reencoding (Track 2,4,5) are choosable in the OSD although the list shows all tracks. So there seems to be a remapping so that: 1. Tracktitel shown: TrueHD german - Track played: DTS german 2. Tracktitel shown: DTS german - Track played: DTS english 3. Tracktitel shown: TrueHD english - Track played: AC3 english 4. Tracktitel shown: DTS english - Track played: nothing 5. Tracktitel shown: AC3 english - Track played: nothing I think that is a little bug ;-) Thx & Greetz

TV series are playing in random order

Hi Emby Team, I am not sure when it really started happening, but guess it was since the 3.3.x.x.x update. When I select a TV series and decide to play from the beginning, a complete or partial season or a few episode of a current season through to the end it ends up playing in a random order. When I check the Kodi playlist it displays the remaining shows in a random order. When I play direct from the Kodi menu system it plays in the correct order. So let's say that I've not watched the last three more more episodes of a particular series I would normally go to the next episode to be viewed and press play. With 'Auto play next episode' activated it use to continue in proper order but now it randomises the order playing each, once. So it's just the order of play that is wrong. Has this issue been raised before and are there any ideas on how to overcome this issue? Lloyd
  10. Playlist - Make the change of order in the playlist can be permanently saved
  11. Just got the 3.0.8100 update. Noted that the order of the guide channels is now out of order. Instead of starting at 2.1 I have 8 channels (random?) at the beginning starting with 640. Same issue in the Channels tab. Is this a bug? Is there a new way of reordering channels I am unaware of? Screenshots attached Thanks for reading and any help you can provide! Problems with local IPTV lists

Hi, I have some problems with LIVE TV. 1º - If i add a channel to a local iptv list (m3u) i cant get channel in my server until i remove and add again. Is that correct? Is that the only way yo refresh a m3u list? 2º - I have a list like this: #EXTM3U #EXTINF:-1 channel-id="100" channel-name="channel ABC" tvg-logo="http://some.logo.link.100.png"group-title="groupA",channel name http;//some.stream.link.100.m3u8 #EXTINF:-1 channel-id="101" channel-name="channel DEF" tvg-logo="http://some.logo.link.101.png"group-title="groupA",channel name http;//some.stream.link.102.m3u8 #EXTINF:-1 channel-id="102" channel-name="channel GHI" tvg-logo="http://some.logo.link.102.png"group-title="groupA",channel name http;//some.stream.link.103.m3u8 and so on..... In live-tv section on web-browser, in channels tab, the channel 101 and 707 are displayed before everything else (see image). Is any reason that happen? I did a new installation of emby-server on my local machine and the list is displayed correctly. I did a clean cache in the server, remove and re-add, refresh channels, change name of the list from aaa.m3u to bbb.m3u, change the link of the channel, remove the lines of that 2 channels e re-add. The result is all the same, if the channels are in the list the order in web-browser is that one. In the emby add-on for kodi its even worst, because the order is by name and not by the number. I have a lots of channels, they all organized in the .m3u file, they are ordered properly. I think if the order in the web-browser, and in the order apps by the way, should be the order of the .m3u file. Or in alternative, it should be possible to order manually or by other criteria. If i add a xmtv file the order in the mapping list is the order in the files, so i cant understand way the view of the daily basis its not the same thing. I think this problem should be resolved if i do a clean install, but since i have the server running on a slow machine and i have a lots of media added to him, the reconfiguration will be a nightmare. I moved the data folder to a backup (to do a test) and start emby-server, its basically a new installation because all the settings are gone, i added the list and everything is fine, so i assume that its somting wrong with my db. 3º - In other scenario if i add the list with tvg-id tag, the names of every channel appear 2 times like 101 101, i don't understand why too. Maybe because the tvg-id is used to get the number and the name, but if that's the case the interface should display only one of them, even if i use the tvg-id and the tvg-name, the interface shows the same and complitly ignore tvg-name. 4º - Last but not least Its a suggestion. Would be awesome if the emby deal with the time-in xmltv, like, my xmltv have channels from different countries, and the hours are displayed like 201609011200 -0200, in this case the program is start 10:00 UTC, so if i am in UTC +1 in my time should be 11:00. _______ To all developers a huge thank you for this awesome media server.Keep up the good work!!

    DLNA profile order

    Hi, I have 2 vlans with same smart TV (LG WebOS) on each vlan. I want to limit access to library for 1st TV in 1st vlan, and allow full access for 2nd TV in 2nd vlan. Because, they are almost equals models (700/730) I can't filter it by User-Agent. I have cloned profile, but changed names, so I have 2 profiles, and in each profile I have selected different user. 1. Can I (how to) filter by device IP ? I have tried this in identification section, but it does not work <Identification> <FriendlyName>LG Smart+ TV</FriendlyName> <ModelNumber>1.0</ModelNumber> <SerialNumber /> <ModelName>LG TV</ModelName> <DeviceDescription /> <ModelUrl>http://www.lge.com/</ModelUrl> <Manufacturer>LG Electronics.</Manufacturer> <ManufacturerUrl>http://www.lge.com</ManufacturerUrl> <Ip>192.168.2.8</Ip> <Headers> <HttpHeaderInfo name="User-Agent" value="LGE WebOS TV LGE_DLNA_SDK" match="Substring" /> </Headers> </Identification> 2. I have tried identify by host server IP (because emby runs on multiple interfaces, host is different for each vlan) <Identification> <FriendlyName>LG Smart+ TV</FriendlyName> <ModelNumber>1.0</ModelNumber> <SerialNumber /> <ModelName>LG TV</ModelName> <DeviceDescription /> <ModelUrl>http://www.lge.com/</ModelUrl> <Manufacturer>LG Electronics.</Manufacturer> <ManufacturerUrl>http://www.lge.com</ManufacturerUrl> <Headers> <HttpHeaderInfo name="User-Agent" value="LGE WebOS TV LGE_DLNA_SDK" match="Substring" /> <HttpHeaderInfo name="Host" value="192.168.2.5" match="Substring" /> </Headers> </Identification> 3. is there any other way how to unique identify TVs ? I'm running latest dev version 3.0.5725.41620. Thank You
  14. Hello Before version beta (251) I could sort what order the media folders were in, (TV Shows first then Movie and so on) by using the Sort name in meta data manager. It looks like beta (251) doesn't use this field anymore, so how can I make TV Shows first and Movies second? Thanks for your time.
  15. In the web client, under Upcoming TV, it shows tv from yesterday and today, and then continues each day, but near the bottom after 19/05/2014, it shows yesterday and today again, but different shows than were shown at the top of the page https://www.dropbox.com/s/kiiku7arcalvmed/Screenshot%202014-04-22%2009.29.58.png
  16. I was just checking a cast list in MBC and noticed the entire cast list had been sorted alphabetically - previously the cast was always shown in the order they appear in the metadata. I've just checked the server and the cast list is being shown in alphabetical order there as well. I have local metadata (saved via metabrowser) and the cast order is correct - i.e. principal actors listed first. Has something changed at the server end that is causing the cast to be sorted now? Can this please be changed back to perform no sorting at all.

    Series Metadata

Ok, I'm not sure how to go about this, but...I have Batman: The Animated Series on DVD and getting ready to add it to my MB Server, and here is my dilemma...The aired order(order listed on thetvdb.com) is hugely out of order, as opposed to the dvd order(actual order show is meant to be viewed in). So, how do I add this series exactly? My normal naming convention/file structure would be Batman The Animated Series\Season 1\s01e01 - The Cat & The Claw (Part 1).mp4 but that episode(according to the dvd order) is actually s01e15. I want the episodes to order according to the dvd listing, NOT the air listing. Also, I don't want to just rename it s01e15 - The Cat & The Claw (Part 1).mp4, because then I'm pretty sure it will fetch the metadata for the 15th ep to air (s01e15 - The Last Laugh). Has anyone come across this particular problem? And is there an easy fix in MB?
