Not sure if this is posted in the right place or not... I thought long and hard about whether this should be in the Kodi forums, the emby forums, or the Artic Zephyr subforum, lol. If not, I apologize, and would appreciate a point in the right direction. Basically, I'm using ArcticZephyr for my Kodi skin and an Emby library. I love this skin, the only thing I'm really feeling is missing is a robust search function. The Kodi native search does not seem to work with the emby library. I click on it and nothing happens. In the Hub options, I could not find a search function specific to emby in the lists. I ended up installing the app 'Global Search' and it works just fine but it is light on the features and is not graphically well presented. So I'm looking for someone to let me know whats up, whether theres something I can do or not, etc. Is this a skin problem? or a Kodi problem? Or an emby API problem? Thanks in advance!

Alright, so I mentioned this previously but never logged or created a topic for it @@Luke, normally I'd just throw this into the server support area, and tagged onto someone else's atmos problem topic there a couple weeks ago when I first saw this thinking it was a server issue. I've played a few atmos transcodes back in both the android and web client, so I no longer think this is a server specific issue I can't make any heads or tails how this is Emby for Kodi related, but here is my OpenElec log http://xbmclogs.com/p9xw0gztk Emby for Kodi has a lot of log spew even with logging turned off ;( I did a reboot and played one of my Atmos blu-rays (American Sniper) but I can't find it logged anywhere. Instead there is still a weeks worth of logging it looks like (to me). I may have to do a hard reset to get the log manageable unless anyone knows any log cleanup secrets in OE I went ahead and attached a failed Atmos transcode log and a successful TrueHD transcode log (for good measure) Both were using Emby for Kodi http transcoding Fortunately the atmos list is small http://www.dolby.com/us/en/experience/dolby-atmos/bluray-and-streaming.html but I can't understand why these are failing only in this specific client Atmos fail.txt TrueHD success.txt

The following messages keep on poping up in the notification area. I installed emby after a full fresh install of kodi then did a content scan on my videos. I'm currently running an emby server on my desktop with Kodi running on my PI on the local network. kodi.log

TrackZ posted a topic in General/Windows
When I go into a movie's edit page and click to browse images or click the cloud button for any given image type, the window loads with all of the options, but it never actually loads the images to preview. I've sat with the window open for a good while. This is using Windows 8.1 up to date with the most recent IE. Thanks! -
Sometimes there are small delays when loading fanart/box art in kodi (latest beta), especially if i scroll very fast. Kodi is running off an SSD, while Emby cache is running a normal hard disk. Would moving Emby cache to the SSD help with image load, or does Kodi cache images to it's own DB (which is already on an SSD). Not sure how images are handled with Kodi/ Emby addon. Thanks

Has Anything changed in the latest .81+ releases that might have broken pseudotv. Before the upgrade it seemed to work fine, now however it just says it can't play any files then crashes out. I don't have the logs at the moment as i am away. I was just wondering if anyone else had used / noticed this? Thanks

Hey guys, Just wondering if anyone has had any luck with copying a whole Kodi setup from one PC to another. I've spent hours getting it right on one, and I really don't feel like doing it again P.S. Having only really tried Kodi for the first time, man it's a bitch to setup. But god damn, it's amazing.

I was wondering if anyone has set up this now that the new addon is using the native kodi DB. I will be giving it a go as soon as i get chance.

Hi Thinking about starting to use Emby Server. How does the Live TV side of things work? Do you need Windows Media Center? I am currently using Kodi and DVBLink on the back-end. (DVB-T2 UK Freeview). Thanks

Hi there, I am using kodi and am using the most recent release of mb3. All of my movies can be played from file on kodi, but if I try and play them from the add on for mb3, it says that it is unable to connect to server, but the movie will start and then time out. All of the information in the configuration is correct, ie. the server name, ip and password. I can not figure out why it is timing out. I also have the files set up as per the instructions \\servername\movies\moviename.

Issue: Not able to play Movies. Getting Error msg "File no longer available. remove from Library?" System: Openelec 8.0.5 ( Kodi 14.2 ) Emby Server Version 3.0.5582.0 repository.beta.mediabrowser.kodi-1.0.1 ( Updated and Force Refresh in Kodi) Using Kodi 14.2. Openelec. Fresh install. Install the mediabrowser.kodi 1.0.1. using confluence skin (default skin). installed Emby only from the video addon. put in the ip address to the server. add profile name to account. ( Reboot ). Kodi Request Password for profile. there is no password. press done. Sync Started.. waited till finish. Reboot server and client. try play video and getting error msg. I had this working before, so i am sure the setup is fine. Log Posted for your Review. Thank you for looking into this matter. also have an option to use Mediabrowser plugin in the repo... is that needed or just emby is all that needed? Its not mention in the installation instruction so i am assuming its just there? log-2015-04-15-10.39.01.zip

Hi guys, I'd really like to upgrade my rather old Kodi HTPC setup by replacing the backend with Mediabrowser. I like the possibility to watch on multiple devices in my home network without keeping media databases in sync. So what I did was installing Mediabrowser on my Ubuntu server (HP N36L) for testing before buying a faster server (for transcoding). I am running into the problem that I cannot playback any content without transcoding being in place. The library is set up using linux local paths ( /media/Storage/movies ). I configured path substitution so that the clients can access the files directly. This is the point where I am not sure why transcoding is still in place. I tried the following configurations for substitution None of these worked for the web client on my Macbook (using Google Chrome), since I still see the bandwidth settings in the top right corner. All the options also didn't work for a Windows 7 client using Firefox. I did not test the following clients yet. Kodi, iPhone, iPad. My server can provide access to the media files via NFS, AFP or SMB. Can anyone help me troubleshoot the setup so I can playback with direct file access? Is it even possible that devices with different OS can playback with direct file access at the same time? Regards, Bondfreak

Hi folks, I'm feeling restless, and kind of want to buy a NUC or something similar to play with. I'd like to have a tiny little PC, and use it to learn more about Linux, beyond some poking around I've done in VirtualBox builds. I've played with straight Ubuntu, Linux Mint, and Xubuntu. One of the things I'd do on it is use it as a small EMBY client. Not because I have to, but it would be fun. This would be done via the Kodi client, right? I came close to buying one of the recent crop of Intel NUC variants, but apparently at least some of them don't work well headless... I can see this NUC possibly being decapitated at some point and managed remotely. Then I read up on some of the BRIX and similar boxes... but it didn't seem like the specs were as competitive. So I figured I'd go to the most knowledgeable group of folks I know for some insight. I'd love to hear what small form factor NUC, BRIX, BXI, etc. things you've got, and from a theater perspective what you like and dislike about them, how you've set them up, which Linux variant you like... I don't need a powerful machine, really I'm looking for a playground more than anything. Thanks in advance for any thoughts you've got. Marc

Implemented the new Emby Kodi addon, love it great bit of work. Using the Nebula skin and blown away by the interface and customisation, just looks awesome! I have configured Kodi to my liking, only gap are genre icons/images which appear as standard: Wondering if anyone has genre images appearing in Kodi from the Emby server, or must this be configured in Kodi itself?

Hello, some Files in Kodi are for some reason not playable. Found this in Logfile: Error: CCurlFile::Stat - Failed: HTTP response code said error(22) I'm running Emby Server and Kodi on same Machine. Emby Plugin is up to date (0.0.20) Already done a fresh install of Emby and Kodi but the Error is still there. When I open Kodi I noticed that the "HD" sign in titel is missing in theses files which are not playable and I don't now the differences between these files because format, codec, etc.. is mostly the same. kodi.log

Hi - I just set up a new PC with Windows 8.1 running Kodi 14.2 RC and the MB addon (0.9.823) for my mediabrowser collection. I have another PC with Windows 7 and a Ceton Infinitv 4 set up on WMC with ServerSMC 1.0.0.56 build:1190 running along with a MB server version 3.0.5518.7. I'm having a problem viewing my media browser files on the new PC and am getting a "Playback failed" notice saying "One or more items failed to play - check the log file for details." I have the MB addon configured with the static IP and port of the server PC and have the Network User set up as the main user ID for the server PC (in my case it's "TV" no password). I can view my collections and all the images/details show up, but I can't get anything to play. I'm using the Confluence skin included with the MB repo. I enabled the info level logging in the MB addon and tried to play the movie "About Last Night" to generate the error. Quick background on the networking settings, the server is running on 192.168.10.250 with port 8096 and the admin user for that computer is "TV" with no password. The recordings are saved on the server at D:\Movies\ or TVPC\\Movies. Log from the incident is attached. I tried restarting Kodi, the new PC, and the MB server but no change in behavior. Also tried disabling antivirus in case that was messing something up but no change. Any help would be much appreciated!!! Thank you! kodi.log

Good Afternoon, I have been having some issues playing some files and I was hoping to find out why exactly this is happening since almost every other file works. The issue occurs when attempting to play a file using the web interface to a local DLNA device (KODI). It only happens with a few specific files however these files work when played using the windows share method OR when played using Serviio (alternate DLNA software); this leads me to think the issue is specific to Mediabrowser. I have generated a profile for KODI to eliminate transcoding and indicate the device is able to play all content natively, profile attached. I am trying to get live tv working and am running into trouble: The channel guide loads fine (see channel guide.jpg below) When I click on play to play a live tv stream absolutely nothing happens. (see Play.jpg below) I would appreciate any help you can give me. Getting frustrated spent way to much time on this. I like mediabrowser a lot just need to get it working properly. Previously used Mediabrowser theater and classic on a Windows 8 machine. Trying to down size to a lower power consumption box and a firetv box. Serverwmc is a new for me previously used Media Center when I wanted to watch tv. Setup: ZBOX-BI320-B/E/U/J/TW-W2 Intel Celeron 2957U (dual-core, 1.4 GHz) WD My Book 4 TB external hard drive MediaBrowser server Version 3.0.5518.7 ServerWMC Server version 1.0.0.52, build: 1175 Clients: 1) local MediaBrowser Theater 2) Firetv KODI Helix (future client will try to get this working after I can play live tv locally in the browser) 3) MediaBrowser Browser Player serverwmc current log http://paste2.org/D2Fm5p3p Additional Information: 1) Tuners work fine in Windows Media Center 2) Media Library seems to work okay (See library structure.jpg used below) 3) Shared folders as shown below (Recorded TV permissions.jpg) 4) ServerWMC structure should be okay (see serverwmc structure folders.jpg below)

I was wondering if it would be possible to add an entry point or category in the metadata editor for "Movie Set" or "Set" or something like that for the purpose of organizing movie collections into movie sets for Kodi. It would be useless for MB clients, and I don't want it if it caused any sort of issues with MB, but it's handy for telling Kodi to group movies into sets. I know Metabrowser had an entry point like this. That way, say for instance with the Bourne Collection, you could just type in Bourne Collection in the Set entry point in each of the Bourne movies, and Kodi would group them together. Ideally Kodi would recognize MB collections (and artwork selected etc..) but this would still help. edit: Thanks for moving this to feature request, EBR.

Hi i have problems to share hd contend to my original xbox through XBMC4Xbox becuase most of the content in h264 they are generally too high resolution for the old Xbox hardware capabilities. i spent some days making profiles but none work becuase despite of video trascoding, the bitrate still to high for the hardware. after some time in undestand how the dlna profiles work i made it, i tested some days and is working in all my hd media. i share my little contribution to the community. i choose trancoding 480p instead 720p beacuse the quality of the video, 480p have more bitrate and better codec instead of have a video 720p with low bitrate and other codec to make work in the xbox. <?xml version="1.0"?> <Profile xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" I have installed Kodi on my mac, but it refuses to play any file from MBS. I have made this log (attached). It works fine in Safari or when accessing the network share. Funny thing is I have the same problem in MBT, where it works with a external player but not the internal. http://mediabrowser.tv/community/index.php?/topic/17724-error-processing-you-request/ Server is Version 3.0.5490.2 and Kodi is from yesterday,

Well i thought i would have a go with Kodi...... And although it has some features i like (streaming live TV) i found the whole thing very painful to set up and not intuitive at all. There might be loads of videos out there on how to set it up its still a very difficult process. Unlike MBS or MBT or even MBC for that mater, what a good job you guys have done in making things very easy to set up.... Just wondering if others have had the same sort of experience??

Hi guys. Can someone please point me to the location to disable Kodi metadata? On the Kodi tab under Metadata the narrative includes the statement: "To enable or disable Kodi metadata, use the Advanced tab to configure options for your media types." However, I can't find any relevent settings under Library > Advanced or under the top-level Advanced section. Thanks for your help.

I have Kodi set up as a test front end with the Titan skin. I have two users set up, one kids and one parents. The child account will at the very least see one or two folders that should not be seen (but cannot access the movies), or at the worst, see all the movies in the folders, and actually play them. The MB Server log shows they have indeed been able to launch the movie The movies are not restricted in that they are adult or "R" rated, but I have limitations set so that the kids don't need to see folders that are irrelevant to them. Perhaps I am setting the Kodi user profiles up incorrectly. The "Master User" has full access and logs in to the MB Server with an account and password that exists on the server. For the child, I set up another profile and then in the MB3 add-on, I put my son's name and no password (because he doesn't have one). That was the only way I could figure to have two users log in with access to two different libraries. Has anyone else experienced this?
