    Everything was working but now I can not view or record LIveTV via my HDHomeRun Quad tuner….Viewing via the HDHomeRun App on my Apply TV works fine (tuner is good) but as soon as I try to view live contents on FireTV, iPad, etc. I just get a blue circle. And of course, nothing sheduled records anymore. I’m up-to-date on Emby Server. I’ve reset and reloaded all software (i’m an engineer). I removed HDHomeRun as the “tuner” device for Emby and reinstalled…I’m running out of things to try…

    Hey, I'm back again, was trying out Emby in August and ran out of time. I am now been running Emby since October 6 and having good success with on disk TV shows, Movies, and Live TV via m3u and XMLTvlisting and will buy a lifetime pass shortly, but am having trouble introducing a HDHomeRun - figured that was easier than using TVHeadend and my USB tuners. Environ: Raspberry 4B/8. Debian 64 bit. All up to date, Docker/docker-compose. I tried adding a working HDHomerun with a reserved IP to Emby. The auto-detect didn't work, but I wasn't surprised as Emby is not on the lan subnet, but behind docker and gluetun. But when I tried providing the IP address it just errored on trying to add. I figure it is the gluetun network stack. Gluetun knows what is local to the LAN and what should go out the VPN, but needs to be told of ports being used by dependant containers. I listed 8096 and 8920 for Emby, and that works fine.. Occasionally a Firestick Emby app gets confused and can't see the server after a Firestick restart, but a retry fixes that. I think I read that Emby is using udp to communicate with HDHomeRuns. I believe I would need to list the UDP port numbers in gluetun's configuration and rely on gluetun to deliver incoming dup back to the Emby container. I tried adding ports: - 65001:65001/udp to gluetun, but still no joy. Who can help a guy out? Docker Compose environ.     My HDHomeRun has worked flawlessly with Emby for the last 10 or so years. I normally use it to record football games. This season, I set it up to record, and nothing happened. I then figured I would try and watching live TV through Emby and that failed with the error in the PDF I attached. I did a little searching on the web and came across a post on the Emby Community that seemed to be the same issue as I was having. I replied to their topic saying, "Has this been addressed yet?" and Luke replied that I should make a new topic and follow the "Media Playback Issues" post.     So I have been running Emby for years but just recently pushed back into Live TV. I purchased 2 HDhomerun Extends to do that. I choose the Extends because I wanted to minimize load on the server. For understanding My clients are Roku devices of assorted versions, Roku 3, Roku 4, a couple of Roku sticks. I occasionally use my Android app. There are 10 devices total but only 2 maybe 3 are running at a time. About half of my Roku devices are connected to my 1gig ethernet switch and the other half connected to a wireless network My server is a virtual install of Emby on Windows 10 with 6 cores and 16GB or RAM. Trans coding goes to local storage which is on a RAID 5 array of SSD drives I am Emby premier running version 4.4.2 and the Roku beta app So everything setup super easily and technically works; however the quality and reliability is horrible. Since I have nothing else hooked up to my new antenna my first thought was that the reception is poor so I downloaded the HDhomerun Roku app and tried that. To my surprise the HDhomerun app is perfect, no interruptions, great picture quality, fast switching etc. So I did some testing swapping back and forth between Emby and the HDhomerun app on the same device and the results are consistent, the problem is only in Emby. I have read a number of posts around this and most of the items I have covered. The problem does look to be I am trans-coding despite having the HDhomerun extend. That said none of the other posts seem to have a way to keep that from happening. Is there a setup guide I did not find or something? Has anyone else conquered this. Thanks

    Live TV no compatible streams

    Ok, I'm sure it's something obvious but I haven't had any luck being able to get Emby to use my HDHomerun (HDHR3-CC). I've got the latest firmware for the tuner (20200225) and the web interface shows all 3 tuners as available. Emby is able to detect the tuner and is grabbing the correct IP. I've also added the guide data (tried both Emby and schedules direct) and every time I try to watch anything, I get the Playback error, no compatible streams are currently available message. Anyone have any insight as to what I'm doing wrong? Edit: forgot to attach the log. embyserver.txt

    hello the hdhomerun website says the connect was discontinued and replaced by the connect duo and connect quadro I cant tell if the extend is discontinued as well I only see comparisons between the original connect and the extend on the website but not the new ones the connect duo and extend are both 99.99 on amazon which one should I get?

    Hello, I just bought premier to test out the livetv option of emby. I see it import all the channels, but when I got to watch a channel I see just the spinning circle.     Hi, So I have a question about the Emby Live TV and DVR with HD Homerun Prime and cable card using Spectrum. I had PLEX and it would not play/record most of the Spectrum Cable Channels as they were DRM protected, they were fine on the HDHomerun Prime but not on the PLeX server. So I checked and everyone kept saying Emby but after spending an hour reading threads here I am still unsure if Emby Premiere will play or record DRM channels. I am not talking about encrypted channels like HBO, I know the difference. Can someone just answer the basic question. With my current setup will Emby Premiere allow me to view/record these DRM channels from Spectrum via my HDHomerun Prime? Thanks, Randy

    Are there plans to utilize the ip stream from HDHomeRun devices to remove the encrypted channel limitation? We currently use TVHeadEnd to handle this problem. With the addition of guide data to Emby Premiere, encrypted channels are the only hold up for ditching tvheadend.

    Trying to get Emby set up to work as cable provider replacement. The issue I am having is that I have a HDHR Quattro and an IPTV (M3U) source. Works extremely well; however, the behavior when tuners are in use has been frustrating me. At a minimum, I would like to limit the number of tuners that can be used for recording vs. live streaming. Alternatively, if attempting to tune when all tuners are is use, I could be given the choice to interrupt. Presently, I have 5 streams available from M3U and 4 tuners, so if there are items in a series, the server can theoretically record 9 programs and not let me tune another and the error is vague. As an example of previous experience, giving the user the option to cancel a recording would be nice.

    Live Tv Choose Channel with trackpad get Oops

    When choosing a channel to watch we are getting this error when pressing the trackpad on the channel (which normally takes one to the channel/program info where you can choose channel as a favorite). Oops. Document Not Found on Stack. Maximum call stack size exceeded. We can get around this by pressing the play button instead. Also, while here, and related to the panel. The program schedules do not update when one presses the menu button to go back. This applies to both the favorite screen above (if that works [back once]) and to the channel listing [back twice]. Then if one presses play, the episode isn't available since it's often hours old. Has been this way since we installed emby last spring. I played around with this some and installed emby on a RaspberryPi 4 with 4GB. It was running version emby 4.3.0.15. Had no problem with play functionality described first using the PI.     When an Android phone connects to the Emby Server using the Emby App and turns on Live TV, after closing the app, the HDHomerun tuner still believes the tuner is active. Restarting the Emby server releases the tuner that is in use. I have attached screenshots to show the system status while this is happening.

    So excited to have finally got my HDHomerun Connect Quattro for UK Free to Air TV installed and running with Emby Server v4.0.2. Its all working sort of... I'm on 1gb home network and via Emby Client in browser I play Live TV and stutters badly. I have it set to Auto to ensure streaming best could be, however... As you can see from above, the dashboard is show Emby is transcoding the Live TV footage from MPEG2 to H.264 and I cant seem to find a way to stop it doing and just use Direct Play. Any ideas / help appreciated ?

    Hello, new to Emby from Plex. I have only been using Emby for a week or so. @@cayars brought me over to the better side. I think he might have started a revolution and more folks might be coming over. He forced my hand (due to the benefits, functionality, and support) and I purchased a lifetime subscription. So far this platform has been amazing! Maybe it is something I am not understanding/doing, but I can’t get Live TV to run correctly. I have Verizon Fios TV and internet at home, using a HDHomeRun PRIME with a cable card to record shows on my NAS. Added my HDHomeRun PRIME as my Tuner Device. All the Channels show up. In Live TV >> Guide, the channel numbers and names display but not the icons or any of the shows/content by time (3:00 pm, 3:30 pm, 4:00 pm, etc). In Live TV >> Channels, all the channels display and run when I press play. In Live TV, Programs and Recordings do not display anything. For TV Guide Data Providers, I choose Xml TV. Downloaded the software and set it up in the following directory path: “C:\xmltv-0.5.70-win32\xmltv.exe.” When I select “…” >> Map Channels, no channels are displayed. Downloaded zap2xml to use XMLTV files but not sure how to point emby server to map it. I am not using any of the Live TV plugins available in the catalog. Thank you in advance for any guidance!

    I set up Emby Server on my Synology DS218play and configured it to use my single HDHomeRun HDTC-2US dual-tuner device. Emby only uses one tuner in the device, and the Live TV configuration screen I see in the online documentation, which shows a multi-tuner configuration, is without any of those multi-tuner options. I looked everywhere throughout Emby's server settings and cannot find what I see here on GitHub: https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Wiki/wiki/Live%20TV#live-tv-status If I schedule two shows at the same time slot to record, Emby lets me do it, but only one of the two record. Here is all I see for Live TV... And, if I open up the HDHomeRun EXTEND settings... Emby is on the latest version 3.5.3.0. My Synology NAS is on the latest version DSM 6.2.1-23824 Update 2. My HDHomeRun is on firmware 20180817, which is the latest for the HDTC-2US with device ID 1050141D. Does anyone know how to properly configure Emby on a Synology NAS to recognize both tuners?

    I just bought an HDHomeRun Connect (HDHR4-2US) and when I try to use Chrome on the sever to watch it, it gives an error about not having any available tuners. When I use Emby Theater on Windows 10, it just sits there forever. I attached the logs and both have the same error in transcoding (which it shouldn't even be doing): [mpeg2video @ 0000000001d54e80] Invalid frame dimensions 0x0. I have verified the HDHomeRun Connect is working fine through HDHomeRun VIEW. On the box, it shows a checkmark next to DLNA (but obviously won't transcode). Both machines (server and client) are both capable of direct streaming it so I'm not sure why it is trying to transcode at all. The server should also be capable enough to transcode having an Xeon E3-1230 v3 (Intel QuickSync not supported) and Radeon HD 5570 (UVD2). I attached the logs.     It worked at one point but now it's not working. I decided to wipe every trace of Emby server and start fresh and it's still not working. HDHomerun: Works with Kodi and the HDHomerun Windows Store app and Plex. NextPVR: Works in Kodi and web with default port.     For what it's worth, I just communicated with Silicon Dust about the expected release date and cost of their upcoming 6 tuner Prime model. They told me that they do not have a release date yet but that they had stopped manufacturing the current generation of their 3 tuner model (which would suggest that the newer models, including the 6 tuner model, are coming out very soon). They also told me that the expected cost of the 6 tuner model would be about $199.

    I threw this code together fast to get the log data from the HTML page and parse it for reset reason and time. It is a command line application and the only argument is the IP address of the HDHR to look at. Here's pictures of the results for my three HDHomeRun EXTENDs: This screenshot includes the system information from the HDHR (Device ID is very important for figuring out which HDHR is defective): C# source code attached. No copyright, license, or anything. Knock yourself out. The code is fairly self explanatory. HTML parsing is in Program.cs and classes for each HDHR HTML type (log and system) are in the HDHR folder. Those classes take the trimmed HTML (pre for log and table for system) and reorganize the data into memory structures (e.g. HdhrSystem.DeviceId). The class constructor parses the data. The .NET Framework 4.6 executables are in there and, as compiled, they output results formatted in the last picture above when the first argument is a valid HDHR IP. Not incredibly useful but it's a starting point for anyone looking to pull data from the HDHR. This code was only tested using HDHR EXTEND.     Has anyone had any luck getting Emby to detect tuners (HDHomeRun in my case) on Windows Server 2016? Emby installs cleanly on 2016 and with the exception of Live TV tuner detection/access I haven't seen any Server 2016 specific issues. When I try to detect the tuners it comes back after less than a minute that it can't find the tuners. Manually adding them by type and IP doesn't work either. In the attached log there are 2 captures. The first is debug turned on and trying to scan for the tuners. It doesn't give you much. The second is after manually adding a tuner by IP address and then attempting live playback. Again, debug is on. In searching the threads I see that I'm not the first to encounter this but didn't see a resolution. Trying to diagnose this is a bit challenging as I'm not getting much to go on. It isn't A/V or Firewall related. Tried with both turned off. The PC can see the tuners. I installed the HDHomeRun setup program (20180817) and it sees the tuners and channels no problem. I can launch a channel (have VLC installed) from the HDHomeRun Setup app and it opens and plays fine. One more confirmation Emby never talks to (locks) the tuner. I set up 1 tuner by IP and opened 2 Emby life TV sessions. Both sessions clocked like they were trying to connect. While the sessions clocked I opened the HDHomeRun Setup program and attempted to stream a channel. It worked. The tuner wasn't committed to Emby. This 2016 server is my Media/NAS system and should be more than powerful enough to handle what I'll use Emby for. That is if I can get past this tuner challenge. From what I see with this I think Emby is likely the victim here. Just how to prove it and identify what needs to be done to work around it. Would be happy to test a diag runtime or run other tests to capture trace data. Just let me know. Any help is appreciated. @ Emby-Win2016-HDHomeRun.log

    I'm sure like many of the users here I like to tinker, I have a wide range of both software and hardware that I use to interface with my emby. I primarily use Kodi when in-house with the emby for kodi add-on, since I use kodi primarily I use the silicondust PVR system. When I am remote at work, on mobile, my projector, vacation etc. I use emby. Since I am mobile 14+ hours of the day I configure the DVR on emby when out and via the silicondust DVR add-on within kodi when home. With that being said is it possible for emby to read the silicondust dvr files metadata and use that within the [Recordings] of emby? I have attached a sample of how emby reads the dvr files from my hdhomerun as an example. for some reason all recordings are being recognized as season of the witch. please let me know if there are any questions, files, etc that I can provide to assist with this if you feel it is something that can be added I am happy to provide. thank you, bry

    Hey guys, I was looking through the forums and trying to figure out the right way to get just some basic OTA with TV Guide in USA. I have options on what to buy but cost seems to creep very quickly. It appears i'm stuck between too many products. Plex really doesn't work for me as it requires alot of external connections (Internet) but handles TV Guide well with HDHomerun. Emby has Live TV and Recording but seems like manual config(Not against this) or pay 25 a year for SD (Wife Veto). The Xbox One with the USB Tuner really does work pretty well and Guide comes through good and xbox glass for sharing but no recording. NextPVR has some Guide ability but seems sorta the same vein as ZAP XML route or can you use a Hauppauge tuner and get that data? Does the HDHomerun block OTA EPG? I'm not sure if I need recording as a requirement but having live TV with a guide would be. The part that I would like is using the same interface for movies and music and TV. The part that confuses me isn't this info part of DVB EPG that ANT gives you? Sorry if I just mushed too much research together!
