I managed to get the FreeBSD version of Emby installed in a jail on a 9.3 version of NAS4Free. However, once I got it started and ran the web-based wizard it gets to the Configure Settings screen and no matter what options I choose it never goes any further. Clicking the 'Next' button on this screen just puts a little spinney icon on the screen for a few seconds and then nothing.Trying to go to the /web/index.html page just starts the wizard over again. I have the server logs attached below, there are several errors but nothing that I understand. I am unable to do anything myself past this point, I'm afraid my FreeBSD troubleshooting skills end here, so I'm hoping one of you can point me in the right direction, otherwise I will have to abandon all the work I have done. Thanks for your help! server-63574765213.txt

Just a question, of writing an overview for my videos. Is there a way to control the way the overview would look like??? here is an example of what my overview looks like in the server. when its display in the emby webpage or kodi its complete different no break or sorts on the page so it seems to be a continous run off... *** what I want to look like... 33 Minute Butt Lift Workout - Butt Toning Exercises DIFFICULTY: 3 CALORIE BURN: 310 to 410 EQUIPMENT NEEDED: Dumbbell WORKOUT TYPE: Barre, Toning The butt is a group of muscles that can very much be reshaped and firmed according to your liking. The glutes are comprised of three different muscles (maximus, minimus, and medius). If you spend a lot of your day sitting on this particularly large muscle group, you will find that it begins to go soft, and lose it’s shape. Because it is a large and heavy muscle, it may even begin to sag without regular exercise. *** how its comes out in the emby webpage or kodi. Windows 8.1 Server Multi-User & Services Setup Questions
dustinfike posted a topic in General/Windows
I just finished building my server and getting storage pools setup, etc... Now I would like to get Emby setup the way I want and I am not sure the best way to go about it. First, a little about my setup and desired use case: My server is also going to serve as my main HTPC connected to the TV in my living room. I will be running emby server and emby classic on WMC. I will have movies, ripped TV discs (no live TV or DVR), photos, and games (for now only emulators, but potentially windows/steam games later). The server is going to run 24/7 serving up my emby server within the house as well as remotely to some family members or myself while on the road. It also serves up my data files for photography work, lightroom photo library organization, web design work, documents, etc... My wife and daughter will also be controlling the HTPC front end of the computer to watch movies and such. So, to that end, I would like the front end that they deal with to be run under a windows user without admin rights so that they are less likely to screw something up. I would also like to have the computer start up directly into the emby interface if possible so that my daughter doesn't have to find it if she wants to watch a movie after the computer has restarted. So, my question is, how should I go about installing emby server and emby classic? Say I have two windows user accounts: ADMIN with admin rights, and VIEWER without admin rights. VIEWER will be used to interact with emby classic and watch movies, play games, etc... ADMIN will be used to remote desktop into the server as needed to make adjustments, etc... (I have already made the adjustments to allow concurrent remote desktop sessions.) Should I install the server under the ADMIN user or the VIEWER user? And then, which should I install emby classic under? And, should I run emby server as a service or as a program? (What are the pros/cons to running emby server as a service vs as a program?) Second, how can I make the computer boot up and automatically start up into the emby classic interface? Thanks for the help. -
I recently encountered all sorts of issues when setting up MBC and codecs in attempt to be playback all files types including subtitles. I finally figured it all out and took the time to write this guide which hopefully you find helpful. The codecs I use are Shark007 codecs and I can confirm works on Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 (both 32 & 64 bit versions). See attached for guide. MBC-Shark007-Guide.pdf

I am just after some clarification around setting up MBS. I have MBS installed on a PC that has all my media on it. I then have another PC in my living room with MBC installed on it. Do I need to install codecs either on the MBS PC or MBC PC to be able to play all file types including .mkv files and also have external subtitles working? I have read about transcoding and not sure how it all works and if I need to configure anything to get it all going.

Hello, I just downloaded MediaBrowser to give it a try. I had been using Universal Media Server for a while, and switched over to XMBX and Plex Server. From what I've seen and read I think I would like MediaBrowser as I have multiple PS3 systems and Samsung Smart TVs around my house. I am trying to run this on a Windows 8.1 system, which the two main collections of media are on two separate HDDs and drives (D and E). Every movie and TV show is in its own folder, D: for Movies, E: for TV Shows. D:\Super Troopers\Super Troopers.mkv D:\Tron Legacy\Tron Legacy.mp4 etc. E:\Entourage\Entourage - Season 1\Entourage (S01E01) Pilot.mkv E:\True Blood\True Blood - Season 3\True Blood (S03E02) Death.mkv etc. After installing MediaBrowser, the first thing that happened is it popped up a dialog box that stated: "There was an issue launching your web browser. Please check your default browser settings." My default browser is Chrome. If I open the link 'MB Dashboard' manually it brings up the dashboard no problem. Once I'm in the dashboard, I start going through the setup wizard. Once I get to "Setup your media library", I run into an issue where it says: "Access to the path 'D:\System Volume Information' is denied." "Access to the path 'E:\System Volume Information' is denied." It will not let me progress any further. These are obviously system folders. They are restricted, and hidden folders that I do not want to mess with. I am unsure as to why this program is attempting to access them as well. Please let me know what I may need to do to resolve this. bawsly_log.zip

Is there any way to get a trial supporter key to see if I can get game browser working or if I like it? Also, If I use MBClassic with WMC on Xbox 360, can I use that as a controller for the emulators? Or what is typically used? Thanks,

Hi all, I'm pretty new to the HTPC arena and WMC/MB as a whole. I'm in the process of building my HTPC and have been testing various set ups etc. on my main PC. I'm a big fan of seamless integration and hate seeing any signs that windows is running in the background so have been working towards finding ways to have all the things I need integrated into WMC so thought I would post what I have so far and see how others have theirs and maybe get ideas on better ways of doing things. First off, I still use WMC as my main interface with the desktop background set to match, just in case the desktop does appear for the odd second. Whilst I love MBT its obviously still in beta and doesn't do everything I need for the time being. I therefore mainly use MBC at the moment with my favourite theme, ROC and MPC-HC as the external video player. I was a big fan of Pearl in MB2 for the simplicity and style and think ROC is the closest to this whilst bringing various improvements. Due to this I use the Unity theme for WMC to make the whole thing look/feel seamless and familiar. Here's a few pics of the main page. As you can see I have setup various entry points for TV streaming, steam, XBMC etc. These are all created through a mix of Re-Launch and MCE Reset Toolbox. The streaming pages link to websites which are chome-based opening up in full screen and Youtube opens the 'TV' version as you would see any any Smart TV app. All are set to close on the green button and kicks you straight back into WMC. The only bit I dislike is the need to open chrome at all so suggestions on better integration options are welcome! You may also have noticed that I use Total Media Theatre 6 as my DVD/BluRay player. This again is all integrated nicely and plays with no issues that I have noticed. The only way you notice its there is by the 'Play Disc' icon being that of TMT6. The apps such as steam, MBT and XBMC are all set up in the same way so exiting any of these kicks you back to the screens above. You might wonder why I have XBMC as well? The main reason is due to its plugins such as Navi-X for streaming as this is something that MB doesnt offer right now. I'm not the biggest fan of XBMC to be honest as I find it clunky and not particularly pleasing to the eye especially compared with MB however I do have XBMB3C setup to pull my collections from MBS as below: Clicking 'Media' opens XBMB3C. I also have various other links: Again, I rarely use XBMC but I like to keep an eye on progress for various applications and always helps to have a backup I guess. Also, I rarely play games these days but I do occasionally so have setup steam in big picture mode which again is seamless and exits back to MCE: As said above, I use ROC so looks something like this: So anyway, that's how its looking at the moment. Please feel free to comment or suggest improvements. Always looking for new suggestions on how to improve the integration and please feel free to post pics etc. of your own set ups. Thanks

Luke has showed me how to setup the TV programmes but how can I do it for Documentaries? Some are seasons so I have setup like TV series but what about one offs? Do I literally have to add in the settings the TVDB code for each that has one? Second question. Now that I have setup my TV series I have noticed that the folders seem to add future seasons or previous seasons. Say if I am on season 2 of Game of Thrones. It adds season one and has listed missing season. Can I stop this happening?
