  3. Hello Is there a way that emby don't show voice actors or that emby don't catch and load this data? I always delete them manually from the metadata, but as soon as I change something or add a new season to a series and emby has to recognize it again, all information are downloaded again. For live action movies this might be okay but for anime it really bothers me. If anything I want to have the fictional carakter like you find it at anisearch. show in picture next However, such a thing is not built into Emby. Therefore I would like that for defined libraries this information is not loaded from the voice actors.
  4. Hi, When I add media to Emby it doesn't always automatically update the libraries. I can manually scan the libraries and new media will be added properly, but it doesn't always seem to do it automatically - sometimes it will eventually work and sometimes never. My media is stored across 4x 8TB drives (SATA, internal) formatted for ext4. I have mergerfs setup for the media drives, but emby is pointed to the drives individually (I wondered if there was a hangup using mergerfs instead of directly scanning the drives) and I have been adding new media to the drives directly, not through mergerfs. fstab looks like this: UUID=2137d70f-3027-4fc2-a7d4-08afd99d7c1f / ext4 defaults, noatime 0 1 tmpfs /tmp tmpfs defaults,noatime,mode=1777 0 0 UUID=cde46ccb-bd05-4351-8fe7-acecaa465851 /home/craigjesslogan/.drivemounts/disk1 ext4 defaults 0 1 UUID=880d344e-1179-4ecd-9d2b-24b24abbf8ef /home/craigjesslogan/.drivemounts/disk2 ext4 defaults 0 1 UUID=ff5cce60-de39-4d4e-aceb-0ec8c2102ce6 /home/craigjesslogan/.drivemounts/disk3 ext4 defaults 0 1 UUID=80ab5b14-d8aa-4246-af4d-d7dd0d51cf0d /home/craigjesslogan/.drivemounts/disk4 ext4 defaults 0 1 /home/craigjesslogan/.drivemounts/disk* /home/craigjesslogan/Media fuse.mergerfs defaults,allow_other,cache.files=partial,use_ino,moveonenospc=true,minfreespace=10G,func.getattr=newest,fsname=mergerfsPool 0 0 Emby is part of the media group - there are no playback issues, and manual scans get everything every time. 5. Hello together I noticed when I have a series per series a separate folder that Emby then can not access the image information as with Main entry. As an example. I have chosen the series Date a live. About the main search I find for each season the corresponding logo. However, I can only add the only and if I go over the season images search, the system no longer falls back to the main information but I can pull from it just as images and logos. The same is with the backdrops per series is a backdrop folder with a video stored, but only the backdrop that was added last is played. If I click on the different season the video starts again but as mentioned always only the last added and not per season. Did I forget to set anything? 2021.07.06.23.54.01.mp4

    Optimizing scanning Library

Hey guys, Been using emby on Linux for quite some time now. However after a new install on a clean machine, while importing my existing files. I encountered some performance issues. After looking at it it seems the library scanning process only will utilize 1 core at a time. The ffmpeg process that is forked for the chapter images is explicitly started with -threads 1. Is there any option to increase that ? Or is it limited that way due to locking issues ? On current systems it would speed up these processes quite a lot if multiple threads where forked. Even if ffmpeg was only forked with -threads 1 it would be possible to start multiple ffmpeg's for multiple media files. Also it looks like the chapter imaging task limits emby from doing other tasks (like re-importing the .nfo files I have for every media file). Are there any parameters that can be used to force emby to multi-thread some processes or is this currently not possible ?
  7. Recently, after adding new movies to my folder and clicking on scan libraries, I realized that the scanning progress bar neither appears in the dashboard nor does it show the progress pie in the libraries. However, new folders are still being detected (albeit very slowly). Anyone can help?
  8. Emby Server Version 4.1.1.0 Metadata is loading without any problems, but for whatever reason, images simply will not download. If someone could take a look at the server log and let me know if there is anything I should attempt to mitigate this, I would appreciate it. Thanks! Log.txt
  9. I am using emby 3.5.2 server for armhf architecture I have scanned my media libraries. In some directories i have also other files than jpeg, let us say occasionally a pdf with explanatory content. It seems that the emby server crashes when encountering folders with such extra content while trying to display the folder contents. Also it seems that SSL encrypted connection is flawed on the protocol level, since i experienced immediate crashes upon swithcing on https with my self-signed p12 certificate...
  10. So I am new to Emby and was trying it out as an alternative to Plex. I have been using Plex for a couple years. I say this to point out the issue I was having with some files not scanning was not related to the files themselves as my Plex server was able to find the files. It appeared to be the folder/file structure that caused the scanning to skip some of the movies. This issue seems to be centered around .nfo files created when scanning new library additions. Example, I have folders separated alphabetically ("Movie">"A-B-C">"A"). Then within that folder, I may have a subfolder for a movie "bundled" with other files related to that movie. (moviename.mp4, moviename.eng.srt, moviename.eng.forced.srt, moviename -trailers.mp4, etc) In the screenshot below, you can see a folder for the Matrix Collection. Within that there are subfolders for the three movies (each containing the movie and the subtitle files or trailers etc) AND one movie was not in a subfolder (Animatrix). As you can see in the Emby Search window, the three main films did not scan into the library. I can only assume that Emby saw the Animatrix file as the main movie int eh Matrix Collection folder, scanned and created the nfo file, and then figured the three subfolders were not other movies but some other folders related to the Animatrix movie file. As you can see in the search, I did a search for "Matrix", expected to see four films with word Matrix in the title, and only one film with generated nfo file showed in the results. I also tested my theory with my James Bond collection (which also had only one file showing in a search). I had all of the series in subfolders within the main James Bond Collection folder; except one additional lone movie file. Emby scanned the one file and skipped all of the other movie subfolders. To fix the problem, I simply created a sub folder for the one lone file, moved it into that folder, and rescanned the library and all of the James Bond movies showed up (Emby created the additional nfo files for each movie within the subfolders). Thought this might help for those running into the issue as it is a folder structure issue. And maybe a programmer might see this and develop additional code to look in ALL folders within folders. Hope this makes sense. Happy Scanning NOTE: The only reason I was creating Folders for movies was if the movie file had an accompanying srt or other special feature files associated with it. If the movie file was by itself, there was no need to create an additional folder. It just hung out in the main "ABC" folder with other orphans until it was matched with a subtitle file or trailer file or special feature file...
  11. I was running V.3.2.7.0 Originally, I added 4 new series, Call them {A, B, C, D}. Series A, C, and D was uploaded 3 days ago, along with some missing episodes, Not even the title is showing. Series B got picked up almost immediately after a library scan. I have Update the package yesterday with version 3.3.0.0, and ran scan 4 times, Still the 3 series have not imported. I have checked then clearly. There are no [.]s at the begin, so as they would be ignored, and the form is the same as the others.
  12. Hello, everyone! I've been using Emby for almost 2 years now. I have to say its an amazing piece of software! Thank you, Luke and your team for such an amazing product. However, I do have to ask for help today? I recently rebooted my home computer and installed Emby, everything went well, until I clicked "Scan Media Library" and it literally takes forever to scan fully, it never really did this for this long before, an hour at the most but this time its been hours and it is still at 69.6%, I've even uninstalled it and went Portable and still the same issue happens. I typically do scans manually since I don't typically add new content too often. I don't believe my library is that big honestly, I have about 300+ songs, 30+ shows, and about 20+ movies. I've seen some of you guys libraries and their nuts! So I don't think mine should take this long. My internet bandwidth at the time is 85MBps and I don't have plugins installed either? Could someone please help solve this issue? I'm running the most up to date version.
  13. I've just setup an fresh OpenMediaVault Install with emby enabled. So far everything went without problems, but now I'm stuck. Embys Library Scan is not working at all - it doesn't even try. If I click the scan button the progress bar is visible for just a fraction of a second - the log shows "scan completed on 0 minutes and 0 seconds" and of cause no movies show up in my library. I've already tried different folders, reinstalling emby and resetting the permissions of the media-folder. No luck so far... Permissions for the directory are as follows drwxrwsr-x 2 root users 4096 Jan 25 01:11 Movies Permissions for the Files -rw-rw-r-- 1 root users 11000000842 Jan 8 17:25 Captain Phillips (2013).mkv I'm using OpenMediaVault 2.1 with their current emby plugin (Emby Version 3.1.2.0) Any idea what might be the problem? 14. Hi all, Some questions/issues with using genre metadata. I just started using Emby and just got my library added. I have not yet checked the metadata on most of my collection and as such this post is isolated to a Box Set collection I added. The Collection wasn't originally found in TMDB but that's because the name I had for it differed from TMDB which is fine. I went through the process of adding the TMDB ids to each movie via "identify" and it found the movies no problem so I assumed it pulled in all the metadata from TMDB including genre. I then went and added the genre to the main collection thumbnail and then tested searching that genre. Nothing appeared in the search results. I then went back and checked the movies I added the ids for and noticed that genre didn't get added nor some of the other key info like people (all of which are in TMDB). Added to this the search also didn't bring up the main Collection under the genre bucket nor a separate Collections bucket. Another problem is that a couple of the mp4s in this Collection didn't get pulled in. These are movie trailers with no official ID. I have three movie trailers and one got pulled in and two didn't. I thought maybe there was an issue with the library db so I moved the folder out of the movies folder, deleted the library db, rescanned without the folder, added the folder back in and rescanned. Still the same thing. Two of the mp4s didn't show but the third one did. They are named "That's Entertainment 1 - Movie Trailer.mp4, That's Entertainment 2 - Movie Trailer.mp4 (this got pulled in), That's Entertainment 3 - Movie Trailer.mp4. When I renamed the two of them to just "Movie Trailer" in their respective folders and rescanned they got pulled in but were associated with incorrect metadata (which is fine because I just edited it... I'm just thankful they got pulled in). For the file that got pulled in it wasn't associated with any metadata which is what I expected. I don't understand why two wouldn't get pulled in until I renamed them yet the third one pulled in fine. When I looked at the logs the two problem files weren't even referenced (no error or anything). They only appeared in the log after I renamed them. My questions are: 1. Why didn't the full TMDB metadata get pulled in for each movie? Once I added genre manually to each movie they then appeared in the search results. 2. Why didn't my main Collection appear in the search results? Are Collections as a search result not supported? 3. What's going on with scanning files? I could understand if the files were unsupported by Emby but these are standard mp4's and what's stranger is that one of the three got pulled in. I can't understand why two didn't. I can provide logs if needed.
  15. Okay so today I decided I would try to start using Emby for my Music as well... Not sure if that is going to happen as I am currently trying to scan my Music folder for Music and nothing happens. I have it setup with the folder structure "Music\Artist Names\Album Names\Song Name.mp3" and all my files have been properly tagged with MP3Tag and work with multiple programs. So not sure if I am doing something wrong or if this is a bug with the latest update but I figured I would report this.

    Movie Library Scanning

Hi All, I'm new to Emby and setting up my movie library against my NAS. It's scanning the TV shows perfectly fine, but it's ignoring all the 1000+ movies (almost entirely MKV format). This has been working fine directly from Kodi via SMB for years, any ideas? It scans successfully, but finds zero movies. Structure of the folders is /Movies/MovieName (Year)/MovieName.Year.mkv etc. Cheers
  17. Hi guys, I already had in the original tv show "Les Revenants" (French version) and occurred while adding that the American version, "The Returned," the Emby Server applied the same cast of the previous series. I deleted the new series and indicated the IMBM id code, but it did not solve. How can I do to Emby apply the cast correctly?
  18. Hi All, I was persuaded to take a look at Emby and installed it on a high end NAS. No other apps running. 2G RAM and 4TB disk RAID0 My Library only contains Mp3 Music tracks; 9000+ albums with some 125k tracks. I turned off all Internet scraping. Only use local media tagged (ID3) info. The scanner has been going on for two days now, still not complete!! CPU load is next to nothing. Memory is 98% mainly by Mono. Kodi did the same library in 3 hours on the same HW. What is going on?
  19. Every now and then, my Emby server just hangs during the library scan because it gets stopped from somewhere, I really don't know where this is coming from, log attached. server-63582940533.txt

    Initiating Media Scanning

Background to my problem I have my NAS (containing all my media) set to wake at 3pm and go to sleep at 12:30am every day. I have MBS and MBC installed on the same PC (a small NUC under the TV). Previously I had MBS set to perform a media scan on wake - but if that PC ever woke when the NAS was off all media would be marked as offline. So when someone comes to actually use MB3 (during the NAS on hours) then it thought the media was offline. The PC with MBS was starting in the middle of the night to perform updates etc, so I disabled those, but it still wakes occasionally out of normal viewing times. So, I've set MBS to not scan on wake, but to scan on a schedule at 3:30pm and 7:30pm. This works much better, but there are still times when I've added new content and MBS (and therefore MBC) just doesn't know its there yet. This was never an issue with MB2 and it's tray service, I could run MB2 and it would almost immediately show new content. I can run a Library Refresh from MBC settings - but that button is not easy to navigate to. I can see a couple of solutions: have a new trigger for starting tasks on the server ("On client connect") - so when I start MBC a media scan is automatically initiated. have a shortcut button in MBC (one of the colour buttons maybe) to initiate a library scan instead of having to dig into settings.
