  1. scanning the media library takes a lot of time and hardly makes any progress. 2 hours and it is still only at 16.3%
  2. I believe that a lot of people like to put all the files witch related to TV shows in the same folder. Such as trailers or behind-the-scenes (about how to make the TV shows) documentary clips related to TV shows. Instead of just putting the TV show files into folders, this mode of storage could help to manage all the files related to the TV show. But I didn't want other files to be scanned into the media library as well, which would be a devastating blow to the visuals of the main page. So, can we just simply make a feature that excludes scanning of files in some specific folder path, or hide files in some specific folder from being scanned into the library? Just like the “TinyMediaManager” do while scanning the media library file. Thank you!!!
  3. I think this is a basic and useful feature, isn't it? By selecting multiple categories, I can filter the videos I need, such as: Action, Comedy>>>>Rush Hour Action, Sci-Fi>>>>Minority Report Is this request repeated?
  4. The process will auto cancel with out other notification.
  5. So I attempted multiple methods to backup emby and follow guides for accurate removal and reinstall from DSM 6 > 7. After encountering a host of issues I gave up the ghost and just went ahead and uninstalled emby, updated the server and reinstalled. I knew this would require me recreating the server - whatever, I have time. Now that I've done this I can't see any of my media when adding libraries. They don't even appear to scan - I see no percentage check or anything. Just empty libraries. I've used the emby install from package center and the updated one with a manual pkg I've tried changing permissions on the shared folders to other users, including the embysvr user itself. I've tried reinstalling. I've tried chowning all my folders. I've tried everything, up to and including making embysvr an admin! Nothing is working! Any assistance, next steps or links to guides would be more than welcome. embyserver.txt
  6. Hello, I have a Windows SMB share where all my TV recordings (from DVBLink) come in. If DVBLink saves the tv show as *.ts file the file grows while recording. Emby recognizes the new file immediately as one minute video file. But Emby doesn't notice that the file gets bigger. Even after the recording is finished in the media library it is shown with one minute and if i play the file after one minute it stops. If i delete the library and add it again it shows the whole video. Can you fix this please
  7. Hi All, The other day i noticed that my Emby server stopped playing movies through Kodi (TV Shows were playing fine). I assumed it was something to do with the plugin, so reinstalled it etc but had same issues. I then noticed that Emby wasn't importing new movies I add to my movie folder on my NAS (Emby watches this folder for new content). To try and get around this I deleted the movies folder from my emby library (kept the files on the NAS) and went to reconnect it back into Emby but now it won't let me select it. I've attached some screen shots and my log to give you an idea of what's happening, but as you can see I can't add the movies folder, this happens whether I go through the mounted drive (in my case drive V) or through the network path (\\NAS\etc...). I've had no issues adding TV content to my library (the TV folder and this sits in the same parent folder (Video) as movies) i.e. \\NAS \video \movies (cannot set this up) \tvshows (this works fine) Not sure what's going on so any help is appreciated! Thanks, Tim Log.txt

    Media library scan fails

Hi guys, Something new since upgrade to 3.5959.0 beta this morning. Media scan fails after a few seconds (sometimes after a minute) and about 30% completion. Latest log is attached. The error seems to point to C:\Users\Keith\AppData\Roaming\MediaBrowser-Server\System\MediaBrowser.ServerApplication.exe, which exists at the specified location. I tried restarting the server and also the PC, with no luck. Any idea what's going on? server-63598377749.txt

Media Library - add new folder

I just install Emby and update to latest version. I created content about Movie. But i have problem to add any folder to movies. First i click on volume1 and next folder Filmy. When i clicked folder Filmy i don't see anything. Press Ok nothing change. How i can solve problem ?? I read http://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/26611-synology-folder-permissions-and-emby-file-structure/and i off guest account. I can't on guest user. Its any possibility to add any new user ??
  10. My next issue is that I cannot add a folder called movies. Each time I try to add it, I can add the type of folder. When I go to the D drive to pick the movies folder it jumps me to the user login screen. And I never seem to have the right password. I even tried resetting the password and get a message, (after following the steps) that I have reset the password to no password. But each time I try to add the folder content it never lets me past this user permission. Now it has allowed me to add other folders, which happen to be on a separate drive to the library, but not this one. And I get no explanation as to why.
  11. Under Dashboard, Library, Media Library, What is the path for Channels? My other folders are visible-Movies etc. Thanks.

  13. Hi Team, Firstly... love the media browser system (MBC and MBT). Even in Beta I'm enjoying the interface and functionality. Every update brings more fun and exciting toys to play with. Keep up the amazing work! I looked as best I could to see if anyone had already suggested this and wasn't able to find any particular post about it, so I thought I'd create a topic. I was wondering if the following might be a little quick fix tweak which would be useful for others (as well as myself). In the Scan Media Library scheduler, you can choose from Daily, Weekly, At an Interval, Application Start or Event. These are all very useful and I have mine set for nightly at 0200hrs. What I thought would be great (specifically for my schedule and routine), would be if you could have a "Day of the week" option which allowed you to have a different schedule per day of the week. For example: Weekdays: Scan @ 0200hrs + 1500hrs (this would allow you to catch any items which were downloaded post 0200 hours while you're at work) Weekends: Scan @ 0200hrs (this way you would not have the scan running at a time when you might be making use of the sysem) The reason this is would be useful (in my situation) is that my setup is configured for minimal complication and cost, making use of technology which (almost) anyone could set up and comprehend. Which I understand is in line with the overall vision of what Media Browser is all about. I could set up something more advanced and not have to worry about system resources or utilisation, but I'm trying to avoid that. The problem stems from when a library scan runs, it chews up a fair bit of network / modem / router resource which makes multitasking quite cumbersome. Watching a movie or episode when a library scan is in progress is usually not possible. I think the cause is the router struggling with processing the network throughput for high def streaming at the same time as trying to process a media library scan with it's attached network drives. I'm looking into a proper NAS system but thats for future me to worry about. I have read that apparently Media Browser Server should be doing "on the fly" updates as items are added in a "watch folder" kind of way but thus far I've not seen any evidence of this actually happening. If anyone has any suggestions which would explain why it's not I'm open to solutions I might not have looked at. If this is the wrong way to post a feature request or I'm barking up the wrong tree, please feel free to let me know. Thanks!!!
  14. Hi All Have had a hunt on here for anyone else having this issue, with no luck so here goes. I have an upcoming trailers collection of locally downloaded trailers,(not collected by the any MB plugins, only using Metabrowser to collect). My issue is that this collection is no longer even visible in MBC and while the collection is visible through the MBS web client, MB theater or the android client, the individual items are not visible/playable, which makes me suspect the server is not recognising the media files, perhaps due to them only being up to 150Mb.... only a guess tho. I used to be able to see the collection and play via MBC, although I must confess I'm not sure when this changed. Hopefully some pics will help ... Server Library Config Web Client Collection view Clicking on a trailer show this.. with no playable file The MB Theater Views of the same MBC EHS Screen Web Client home screen for sort order comparison, as you can see the Upcoming trailers collection is not even visible between Movies and TV Shows where its sort order should show. With the recent improvements to audio/subtitles playback in MBT, I'm really keen to start using this as my primary media client on my HTPC's but as we often 'surf' through upcoming trailers, this is proving annoying at present, having to open MBC just to do this. Have tried server restarts and rebuilding the db cache, but neither have made a difference I'm just wondering if I've missed a minimum file size setting, or whether something changed on the server side, that no longer allows this type of collection to work?? More Details Server Version 3.0.5171.19958 MB Classic - 3.0.129.0, MBC Themes tested - Chocolate and Subdued Look forward to any suggestions or confirmation of this being an issue. Regards Brainfryd
  15. In MB2 I had multiple media collections pointing to the same media location because I wanted my Movie in two different Media Collection in MB, one sorted by date added and the other sorted by Movie Name. MB3 will not allow me to do this...I assume by design. I tried to search to see if anyone else mentioned this, but could not get a hit. Is this correct? If so, is there a way for me to have what I am after? Kind of nice to just click into a view...rather than have to navigate up and change the sort order of a given view. Thanks.
