I have (in this instance) 3 libraries - Two are self explanatory (TV and Film) and a third, which is mixed content Film (Star Wars). I want this Star Wars library as it combines both film and TV (I have other similar libraries for other mixed content franchises - ie MCU), and I also want them the actual media to appear in my full Films/TV library. The TV library of course just looks at P:\TV Episodes, the Movie library looks at P:\Film and Star Wars Library looks at both P:\Film\Star Wars and P:\TV Episodes\Star Wars. I want/need the films in their own sub folder so it plays nicely with Radarr, which seems to require a folder for each film. As such, the folder structure is as follows. \TV \Series XYZ \Season 1 XYZ S01E01.mp4 XYZ S01E02.mp4 \TV \Star Wars \Andor \Season 1 Andor S01E01.mp4 Andor S01E02.mp4 \Film \Film XYZ (1989) Film XYZ 2160p.mp4 \Film \Star Wars \Rogue One - A Star Wars Story Rogue One - A Star Wars Story.mp4 When I browse Movie library, everything appears perfect. Same for TV. However, the Star Wars library is only viewable in "Folder" view And as such the films appear as a folder, so then the movie is a level lower - You have to click into the folder and then select the film. This doesn't work well, it's clunky plus things like custom images dont work correctly. If I put all the films at the root level of Star Wars (ie P:\Films\Star Wars\Rogue one.mp4) it works as expected (see below). I also have a legacy documentary library that is set this way and it works perfectly. So what do I need to do with my folder structure to get this to work (as in look and feel like the above example), but also have the films in their own sub folder - as when I add something to Radarr this is how it imports it. Hope this makes sense - let me know if I've waffled on and you need something clarifying!!

related series do not access the same image information as the main entry
D1sk posted a topic in General/Windows
Hello together I noticed when I have a series per series a separate folder that Emby then can not access the image information as with Main entry. As an example. I have chosen the series Date a live. About the main search I find for each season the corresponding logo. However, I can only add the only and if I go over the season images search, the system no longer falls back to the main information but I can pull from it just as images and logos. The same is with the backdrops per series is a backdrop folder with a video stored, but only the backdrop that was added last is played. If I click on the different season the video starts again but as mentioned always only the last added and not per season. Did I forget to set anything? 2021.07.06.23.54.01.mp4 -
Multi part movie cannot show correctly in Emby. I tried with the support page: Emby Movie Naming : Emby, and followed the instructions with Split video files (file stacking), it cannot work. The movie won't show as a single movie, and only one part could be scanned, the other part will just be recognized as an extra content of the movie. I really don't know how to fix that. And I upgrade the Emby server to the latest 4.6, still same problem. What should I do to make this kind of multi part movie show correctly in my library? Except for merge the two files into one.

You know how Kodi has that feature to show a flattened list of all episodes belonging to a particular TV Show? So you can see the full list and select from there? I am one of the people who find that feature incredibly useful, and after switching FULLY to Emby I miss it dearly. Maybe this is clutter and other people would hate it, but I would just like a button SOMEWHERE (even in a dropdown) to show a list of all episodes from every season belonging to a specific TV Show. Thanks, Shibb

Hi, I'm in the process of testing out an upgrade to my HTPC, using Emby as the server (which looks awesome, love the webUI!) and Kodi as the front end client (which also looks great) - I previously used MediaPortal. I am happy with the way TV Series' are displayed but I'm struggling to get my Movies and other media (Doco's, StandUp, etc) in a useable viewing format. I have looked over these forums and the interwebs for a few days now and I'm still struggling to get this - either its not possible or I'm doing something wrong... so its time to see if the experts can help Background on my setup; I have an extensive movie collection (2000+) which I like to view similar to the way they are stored on my PC, via a single master genre/category (ie Back to the Future is in Adventure), rather than every single movie been displayed on one huge video wall!! I realise I could search and filter for a movie, or movie type, but I like to just go into a folder of my category types and watch say an Adventure movie when I feel like that type of movie. Further smart filtering at this point could give me the newly added, unwatched, etc... I have about 12 different categories (which would be at the Level 1 [L1] structure level) and then inside these are movies (in single folders) as well as boxsets/collections (which would be L2 structure). See Image [server File Structure.PNG] The view structure I'm looking for is to be able to open Movies from the main homescreen (skin link to emby video node), which then displays my 12 custom categories (primary genre), where I can then choose Adventure, followed by the Back to the Future Boxset, and then choose which of the 3 in the collection I want to watch. I'm looking for similar nesting of content for my Doco's, StandUp, where you might have a comedian with multiple shows (Eddie Murphy; Raw & Delirious) that I want displayed side-by-side at the L2 level. Emby webUI (screen grabs below), and the iPad app mimic exactly my folder structure! Its just Kodi that isn't playing nice Doco, StundUp Categories : [Emby webUI - Doco, Etc Library.PNG] Movies Categories: [Emby webUI - Movie Library.PNG] L1 - Adventure: [Emby webUI - Movie Library - L1 Adventure.PNG] L2 - BttF Boxset: [Emby webUI - Movie Library - L1 Adventure - L2 BttF Boxset.PNG] Emby Libraries; Emby Video Node (Type: Movies) - Movies Emby Video Node (Type: Movies) - Doco's, StandUp, Etc Emby Video Node (Type: TV) - TV Series [Emby Library Setup.PNG] These are the options I have tried thus far; I have tried setting up links in the skin to video-addon-emby-Movie ([Emby Video Nodes.PNG]) but this just gives me the whole list of movies, in this case all my Animation and Adventure movies clumped together and it shows all boxset movies individually ([Kodi Movie Structure.PNG]) rather than as one sub folder like the Emby webUI does. I have also tried using smart playlists with a filter for Path Contains = \Adventure\ (ie primary category), which is how MediaPortal achieves it, but for some reason this just returns a blank output - somehow by adding this all the movies get filtered away. I tried this in both Direct & Addons mode thinking that the Path field may only get parsed in the former. no luck. Finally, I have also attempted to add an additional tag, putting my category in there in the hope I could filter for it but that didn't appear to work, it seems to only accept the name of your Emby Video Node (ie Movies, or Doco's, StandUp, Etc). My Setup; Emby Server : Version 3.0.5871.0 Emby for Kodi : Stable (1.03), I also tried (2.2.4) Kodi : Version 16, Jarvis. Skins: Titan & AEON NOX (both didn't help, happy to try others) I hope I've given enough background on the problem and how I'd like my setup. Looking forward to hearing from anyone who's faced similar issues and how they got around it. This new setup seems really powerful, I'd love to get over this little custom view issue and keep using Emby on a permanent basis. I'm also open to suggestions on other ways of handling large media sets if what I want is just too much Cheers in Advance, Dewey

Hi everyone, First off, I would like to say thanks to anyone involved in the creation of Media Browser. Simply amazing work. Anyways, I did some searching around the forums, and couldn't find anything about this specific issue. I am having a little trouble with my folder system, specifically for my stand-up comedy specials. My movies and TV shows are working perfectly, fetching metadata, images, etc. But I cannot seem to get the comedy folders to work properly. Right now I have it set up as Comedy>[Comedian Name]>[special Name (Year)]>[Filename] So in Windows Explorer, one example would look like this: F:\Comedy\Gallagher\Mad as Hell (1981)\Mad as Hell (1981).mp4 My issue is that I am not getting the images, coverart, metadata, etc. to download. I am getting the [filename-poster.jpg] file that is pulled from the video, but that's it. I know that I have some lesser-known specials, or ones that may not have coverart available from the normal sources, like the one I mentioned above. But I'm not even getting the info for the well-known ones, like Jim Gaffigan. Side question: Is there any way to prevent incorrect info from being downloaded? For example, if there is a movie or TV show that shares a name with another, more popular movie or TV show, the metadata and images for the more popular one generally gets downloaded. Any help that anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated.
