Not sure how, but after adding EMBY to WMC 8.8.4, I'm asked for a PIN that I don't recall setting. It's neither my password here or my new server PIN. Could someone please send me a reset? I'd appreciate it. kolife31@gmail.com

Noob guide with router settings for external or remote access
gameroomsolutions posted a topic in Non-Emby General Discussion
Hey guys, I am a Kodi/XBMC long time user. I really have enjoyed using Media Browser for greater control over my metadata and artwork. I also use it for our chromebooks and accessing our media outside of our home network. This may not be new news to this forum but I posted a noob guide here including configuring your router for external access. http://gameroomsolutions.com/organize-access-home-theater-media-anywhere-media-browser/ Thanks, Ryan GameRoomSolutions.com- 5 replies

Hi all, I have been using Media browser for a long time now, and just came across EMBY 2 days ago so I installed it. I am running FreeNAS with emby plugin for my media library, and have installed emby client for Media Center for my theater PC. It is running Win 7 up-to-date in terms of updates. Just like the old Media Browser, I access and configure emby via the separate application that comes the emby download. I add external player, set it up as GENERAL (I have the latest version of VLC) and then I find VLC in my Program Files (x86) directory. Path, I left as default {0} at first, then when trying to get it to work, changed it to {Path} as indicated in one of the forums. The server has each media share available via CIFS as a Windows share which my Win 7 Media Center PC has set up as permanent connections. All this worked fine with the previous Media Browser (plugin in FreeNAS and MB in Win 7 Media Center). Now, when i select and play a movie from the MB client it defaults to the Media Center player and not VLC. I get no errors, it just refuses to start. I can find very little on this problem so I assume I have screwed something basic up. Any help will be greatly appreciated!!

Hello everybody, I thought it would be nice to provide a ready 'import-n-play' image that would be added to the server downloads for those who loves Linux but still want to stay on their Windows Desktop, so I've installed Media Browser for Ubuntu on Oracle VM open source VirtualBox, most of customization are setup already but you are still able to amend yours to meet your personal needs, like subtitle desired language to download, enable/disable cinema mood and setup local/internet trailers: The setup is as follows: Ubuntu Login: Username: master Password: mediabrowser Network settings: IP address: 192.168.1.195 Subnet: 255.255.255.0 Gateway: 192.168.1.1 DNS: 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4 HDD capacity is: 1.00 TB dynamically allocated storage, so make sure to place the VDI file in a partition with enough space for automatic expansion. You can amend your settings by modifying the file: /etc/network/interfaces Folders Hierarchy: -------- home ----- master ----- mediabrowser_files (that contains all metadata, cache, transcoding, and custom intros files arranged in folders by a descriptive name) ---- cache ---- custom_intros ---- downloads_monitor ---- metadata ---- studio_images ---- transcoding_temp ----- mediabrowser_data (that contains the actual media files, movies, TV Shows, etc arranged in folders by a descriptive name) ---- home.videos ---- kids.movies ---- movies ---- music ---- music.videos ---- photos ---- tv.shows point your browser to: http://192.168.1.195:8096/mediabrowser and enjoy your streaming. Has there been given any thought as to handling 3D Content? For instance XBMC Kodi is able to zoom and stretch HSBS and HOU content to fit the desired resolution. Any thoughts or comments on this?

Hello I have been using Media Browser Classic for a while and it's great for the lounge setting but not really that good for the desktop setting (sitting in front of the computer). So I thought I would try Media Browser Theater. First Media Browser Theater controls need to be tweaked for mouse input. I find navigating around using the mouse a bit annoying. Not as bad as Media Browser Classic but still needs some work. The other problem is that I can't seem to find the favourite option in Media Browser Theater? Is there one? (Love heart icon) Thank you very much for all of the time and effort you guys put into this great software.

My mp3 albums have started to play over again from the beginning instead of stopping after the last song. There are no playlist files or anything like that which would explain why this is happening--just the music files and metadata file and cover artwork. I can't find any setting in Media Browser (beta) for Roku that would turn a repeat play function on and off. Am I missing something?

I want to scorch the earth with all XBMC media knowledge and import the info from Media Browser. I only use XBMC for Pseudo tv in the living room. I use Media Browser everywhere else, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to get my xml/nfo data exported from Media Browser and import it into XBMC. I can find the opposite instructions, but even when I remove my movies from XBMC and clean the library, every time I add the movies folder back and set the scraper to scan locally it always re imports my old XBMC metadata. I have options set in the Media Browser web ui to save metadata as an xml and nfo, but it doesn't appear to have a manual back up mode, and I can not locate any nfo files (hidden files shown) from either XBMC, or Media Browser within the movie folders themselves. In a nut shell I want to erase my XBMC metadata from my movie collection and replace it with the metadata from Media Browser and continue to use Media Browser to look up and save the metadata in the future in XBMC. I apologize if this has been explained multiple times. Asking Google the right question on this has been difficult. And thank you for any and all help!

I have a number of movies that will not play in Media Centre. As soon as I try to open them the app crashes and I am thrown back out to the channel select screen. But these same movies play fine in Media Browser. Any idea what is going on? I'm not sure how to attach my log file since it's much larger than 39.95(KB). Joe Smart

I just added a new tv show and decided to see how it was to keep the subtitles and in MB Classic, is there any way to turn them on and off? With MB Classic, they always stay on and in MBT they do not appear. I was thinking of keeping the subtitles (or CC) with all future shows and movies, but am not surer if they can't be turned off. I am using LAV filters and I noticed there is a way to disable them, but I was hoping for an option similar to WMC when a show is muted, the subtitles (or CC) appear. Thanks Dominick

Help! Just purchased Android Client for MB3? Streaming buffers to much?
Zero_Kool posted a topic in Android
I have been side-loading the media browser android app for the last month or so. I see the app is now for purchase. I just confirmed my purchase but I notice the streaming still buffers quite a bit or stops to buffer. I am a bit disappointed I see the cellular bit rate is set by default to 850 kb/s and LAN/WIFI is set to 6.0 kb/s.... Here is my phone: http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/phone.php?p=4102 Q: What can I do to make the app stream without buffering so much? I really want to make use of this feature- 10 replies
