I have searched the forum but can't find this having been handled. We are overseas and I thought I'd download some movies for my son to watch while we are traveling. I can select to download and Emby adds them to the queue - great. And then it duplicates them. And then they all start downloading at different rates. And then it duplicates them again. and again ... I now have 45 progress entries for 5 movies, and none completed after leaving it running for a day and a night. Pic below. I am using Emby Windows 2.207.2.0 client. Emby Server on Windows 4.8.10.0. Anyone have any idea what is going on?

Hi, I’m new to Emby but I’ve been really enjoying getting it set up for my particular usage. One of the main reasons I picked it over an alternative was because of the Apple Watch support, I had wanted a phone free experience while running but still being able to listen to my music. I bought Emby Premiere (lifetime) hoping that I would be able to download my music to the Watch instead of having to stream (which I can and it works fine) I seen a post in regards to this feature request dating back to 2021 and was wondering if it’s still a feature that is being worked on. Sorry if this may be a duplicate post, but I am new to Emby and testing out all the features I will use regularly. On Android, when I download a show or movie etc, it will start the transfer and things are fine on that end. However, if I accidently chose the wrong one, or chose to download a whole season instead by accident, when I go to cancel the download (or rather, select it and choose "Remove") the download continues regardless. Is this by design? Or is there a better way to stop a download after it's started? I downloaded a whole season by mistake, so I removed that download and started a download for a single episode. However, that single episode was stuck in Ready To Transfer for a long time and I couldn't figure out why, I found that it was still transferring that whole season despite me removing it. EDIT: I also noticed that once a removed download finishes, it still remains in the downloaded TV section but is not in the "Manage Downloads" section. So when in 'Downloads' you will see the episode there, but if you try to play it, it will say the content is no longer available. This makes it a bit confusing and troublesome to manage downloads you otherwise canceled.

using Emby with profiles... myself/wife/kids.. as many folks, we each have our own devices too.. we're all able to stream from our own tvs/phones, but when we try to "download" content, the server seams to think all our devices are the same.. when i go to emby > manage server > devices - i see my device there, and each of theirs, but when on their devices and request to download a show, it shows up under my device, under manage downloads (and then shows up on my phone) i've tried deleting all our profiles from the devices section of manage server, uninstalled/reinstalled the app in their phone. when i choose content from the server, select download to.. > son's phone, it shows up under manage downloads on his phone. but then when i look at my phone, it shows up there now too.. it seams that deleting all the profiles from the server, and then testing with his phone, now we're all using his profile for managing downloads.. are we not each able to have our own downloads?? Hi, I have just switched to iPhone (12 Pro Max, 15.4.1) and have tried to download shows from my server with the Emby app (2.1.6) but nothing is happening. The show is in the sync/downloads list on the server (Windows, 4.6.7.0) as “Ready to transfer” but there is nothing showing anywhere in the app on the phone. Some help to resolve this would be appreciated, thanks.

There is still no download resume after broken connection?? Is this ever going to be sorted? I love Emby and couldn't be without it, but man oh man is the download "feature" frustrating beyond words. Crappy connection, 67% downloaded, failed. START FROM SCRATCH ! What now? Why?? Why is the download "feature" so under valued and underdeveloped??

Aloha Embians, back again with a proposal. I recently started using the download function more extensively on my iPhone and I noticed something. When I download a record it downloads (youuuu dont saaaay) and after this I can go into a settings mode per record and set a quality. How does this work? Does Emby redownload something if i turn up the quality after the download happened? And excuse this stupid question, but the shit I download sounds like mp3 to me, even if i changed the quality to Original afterwards which should be lossless. Is that because I downloaded on my phone?I just saw that when I execute a download on a computer up front it instantly asks me about the wanted quality but I haven't tried and there is no way to verify because Emby doesn't show file info for music. Ok Ok, but now for the proposal : I wish we could set global download settings for audio (music) and video downloads per used device. When you need to change them for a specific download, just change them globally. This goes hand in hand with my wish of naming the conversion options in terms that fit their respective field. I work in audio and have no idea why a music file should be 1.5 Mbps (too high, a .wav is 1411 kbit/s and this is the lowest conversion) and this also does not give any information about the file that gets created when I download something (mp3, flac, mp4?). Very nice would be the option to choose a fileformat and/or an appropriate bitrate for the finished download, this would at least give you a hint what you just downloaded. The same goes for video. I am by no means an expert on this field but the name of codecs or resolutions give me something to work with, something I understand because I am used to it. 8Mbps don't. I saw in the knowledge base that at some point there were options like high, medium, for quality. It's nice that you changed those options to numbers, because the aforementioned terms can mean anything and nothing. But for a network potatohead like me it is a bit hard to interprete what "so and so many" mbps mean and I think terms from the world of their medium would explain better what a certain quality option does to the file. I am still working with the API and emby and I am really loving it, but I have a question about whether what I am about to ask for is possible or not. I want to allow users to download content from my server, but that content can only be played from the same app with which it was downloaded, similar to what services like netflix and amazon prime do. That is, it has a kind of digital signature so that it can only be reproduced from emby applications. Thanks!

Estimated a problem has been presented to us, several days ago we have noticed that some users are downloading the files from the server, since they do not have us download permissions from the Emby application. We have noticed that they are using download programs such as internet download manager and I wanted some others, I tell you this because I did a test myself and I could download content without having to have the permissions in emby. Now the question is, this can be restricted, since by observing on the scorecard, I do not have the option to cacelar the transmission. We attach two images, the image "1.jpg" shows a user downloading content and we observing without being able to do anything to solve it. The figure "2.jpg" shows the configuration of this user. It used to, but not anymore... Using Emby server Version 4.0.2.0 on Ubuntu 16.04 and trying to download media to iPhone X On server end I see "Queued" and iPhone shows nothing at all. Is this know regression ? Thx

Has anyone else had the issue of Emby downloads on Android never fully completing successfully? I've been troubleshooting this on and off for almost a year now and would love to get to the bottom of it. On any 4G/LTE network or WiFi that is not my home network, Emby will constantly reset a download, never fully completing most of the time. At home, so long as I'm on my WiFi, it works like a charm. Halp!

Hello! I am pretty new with Emby, and so far I have loved everything about it. Well, I have set everything up to go, and I have got someone to make me a little program to automate downloads. When I download a movie, or a TV Show, both of them will download in the same folder, and then everything will just hump up in emby, both movies and tv shows will show in Movies category and same with the TV Shows. What I have been looking for quite a while now is a way to automate emby, or some sort of addon/Program to use the metadata to automatically move either TV Shows or Movies to another location itself. I have been googling and searching, downloaded some tools, but with no luck. They just made things worse for me. I may have followed some instructions wrong or anything could have happened, but I have been taking very much time with this. Is there anyone who knows what I can do to automate this, and then give me a path to walk on? And maybe just give me some informative instructions? It would be really nice if there were more advanced user management features in mediabrowser server. Downloads and streaming both use a large amount of bandwidth, mediabrowser could really use features to manage these. Things that would be nice to see include: - UI based download, sync and streaming logging (what user download/streamed what and associated bandwidth used) - Time based download bandwidth usage schedule (download speed limits with and without scheduling) - Time based streaming bitrate schedule (bitrate speed limits with and without scheduling) - Separate internal network vs. external network bandwidth controls - User group identity/policy management. (ability to edit a group of users at the same time) - User data caps

I first noticed this issue in the beta for 3.0.5518.3, so I was hoping it would be fixed in time. Now that download and sync are fully functional in the web interface, I am hoping that it will be possible to extend download capabilities to the file types that GameBrowser uses. I was actually hoping to use .gbwin and .gbdos files as zips of entire games and docs to download to the family's laptops on the go, which is how I first found the problem, but downloads don't seem to work for any of the GameBrowser supported file types. I know that the focus for GameBrowser as a plugin is to connect an MB client to a local emulator, but there is a place for being able to download those files to a client system from the server in the first place. I realize the download capabilities are still only in server beta, but games seem to be the only content type that will not download. I'm assuming this is an issue on the GameBrowser side of the equation, but I would appreciate any feedback or thoughts anyone has about whether this is something that is likely to get fixed or if there is anything I should be looking at on my end as a possible culprit. Hello everybody, I thought it would be nice to provide a ready 'import-n-play' image that would be added to the server downloads for those who loves Linux but still want to stay on their Windows Desktop, so I've installed Media Browser for Ubuntu on Oracle VM open source VirtualBox, most of customization are setup already but you are still able to amend yours to meet your personal needs, like subtitle desired language to download, enable/disable cinema mood and setup local/internet trailers: The setup is as follows: Ubuntu Login: Username: master Password: mediabrowser Network settings: IP address: 192.168.1.195 Subnet: 255.255.255.0 Gateway: 192.168.1.1 DNS: 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4 HDD capacity is: 1.00 TB dynamically allocated storage, so make sure to place the VDI file in a partition with enough space for automatic expansion. Hello all, Knowing my luck this is getting posted in the wrong place. I cant find help in any of the threads i looked in and searching didnt prove to be helpful. I am a new user and just downloaded media browser and media center master. From what I read it was recomended to download both. It seemed to not be working so I uninstalled MB and reinstalled it. The server works ok.in so much as I can access it online and add/delete folders. I do not however see it in windows media center. Ive been trying to download MB classic to see if that is what im missing but im told to installe from the program i want it in. i go to windows media center (vista 32) and WMC will freeze up and I need task manager to close it. I am very frustrated with this install. The images and reviews look really cool and i would love to have this to use. Im not very computer savy but i cant imagine an install to be this complicated. its gotta be me. please advise me what to do or what other info you may need. thank you.
