    Guide Slow Loading

The Guide on Emby Live TV is excruciatingly slow to load and needs several page advances to get to some of the programming I want to tune. I knew I can set Favorites which show up at the top of the guide but sometimes I'm not looking for a Favorite Channel. I suspect that the guide needs to parse data from the internet each time i loads but could this be down with some sort of caching scheme to speed things up? I see this issue with the PlayOn app too so I think it is an issue with Emby that could be improved. Thoughts? Comments? Feedback? Is something in the works for this? I have no log to put up as I don't think this is something that will show in the logs. Thanks.

Emmy plugin causing 100% CPU usage

I don't know what happened between yesterday and today. I turned on my box today and it was virtually unusable. The interface is stupid slow. After some troubleshooting I was able to disable the Emby plugin and that rendered my machine usable again. I kinda remember being on version 1.2.60 and after looking today it reads 1.2.62 which led me to believe that an update might've triggered this behavior. The only other thing I've been trying to do is to include my music library to which I have had zero luck with, while all me music is portrayed thought the web interface it does not appear on my kodi setup. setup: intel nuc > openelec 6 > emby 1.2.62 feeding of windows based emby server. Unfortunately i was not logging this but I've had zero issues since I set this up months ago. Any insight is deeply appreciated! TIA!
  3. I'm running the latest stable version of Emby on a CentOS 7 VM on Hyper-V 2012 R2 with the latest updates. The VM is configured with 3GB of RAM and 4 vCPUs (the host is running a Intel® Xeon® CPU E3-1230 V2 @ 3.30GHz -4 cores + HT, 8 logical cores,-). The vNIC is configured using a NIC team on the host, so network connection is redudant and there is more bandwidth available. I only have 2 concurrent users at most, from time to time but usually just me. A couple of nights ago I was watching an episode of one of the shows using the Samsung TV app when suddenly playback stopped and the app went back to the episode information page reporting a "Network connection error". This happened already a couple of times, always using the same app, but it was only the other night that I started to dig into it. An important detail is that the Samsung app is not doing any transcoding on the server side, just direct streaming. So far I couldn't find any network related issue (actually the network is very performant) or problems in the VM or Hypervisor itself. What I did find that it's quite surprising is that in emby-server logs I can see more than a few responses taking a very long time, in the order of the couple of seconds, or even more. While tailing emby-server log during normal playback I also checked the CPU, disk and memory usage. Since no transcoding is done, the CPUs are practically idle, less than 2% used. The disks (RAID 1+0 on a HP Smartarray P222 hardware raid card) are also barely used, but yet I keep seeing responses from time to time taking more than 2 o 3 seconds. Anothe thing that called my attention is that many, many responses are returning a code 500 (internal server error?). But I don't see any affection on the user experience at all. Please find attached a couple of server logs in case you want to take a look at them. Right now I'm pretty much lost on why this responses return a 500 code, and even more surprised that sometimes the response time is so high, even when the VM is practically idling. server-63584956811.txt.gz server-63585043210.txt.gz server-63585129600.txt.gz server-63585206083.txt.gz server-63585206858.txt.gz server-63585216010.txt.gz
  4. So, I've played with incremental sync in the past and my experience has always been that it is much slower than a full sync. I finally decided to take pictures of it tonight and post logs here in hopes that I just have something off. These are the pics of the items syncing: These are the logs: http://pastebin.com/kjme6Pdc With all the praise this receives, I have to believe something is wrong with my setup. I'm running server version 3.0.5768.4 and Kodi Plugin Version is 1.1.52, incremental sync queue version is 1.0.5734.31705. I think I have about 450 tv episodes and 289 movies. What am I doing wrong? If I restart kodi, incremental sync is fairly quick; the next day when I fire up Kodi again, I get this 5 minute incremental sync.
  5. Background: I have my collection on a NAS, gigabit network, 15,000ish+ videos/movies. Server is Intel Quad core/SSD main drive, 6GB RAM. (I have seen others with similar specs claiming everything is great for them, so I set out trying to figure out what is going on.) I also use Rating for users and have a custom filtered Tag for granular ages for Kids profiles. Issue: I have been experiencing issues with slowness for sometime in Refreshing Data (1hr - 2hr after adding a movie). I run my media through MCM prior to adding to media library folders. Another bad issue is when the Refresh is going on, and sometimes even for a few hours afterwards, navigating to a movie in the UI takes 20-60 seconds. The Roku will often timeout during this and exit back to the home screen. On the web, if I wait until it does eventually open, when clicking edit, it sits indefinitely (I have waited a half hour before). Solution: In trying to alleviate the pain of Refreshes over the last few months, I finally tracked down one of the main causes of my slowness/unresponsiveness/lag issues: MBPlus background scanning/categorizing. It turns out that while MBPlus is building suggestions/next ups/etc... it is affecting accessing metadata. Not sure if it is the sqlite.db that is too busy, or if the network chatter to the NAS is too much, but it appears to me that it is the local database. I temporarily set all users to a none profile that does nothing and Refresh Data takes 5-6 minutes of course. Also metadata editing remains responsive during this time. Suggestions: First, I would like to suggest putting the MBPlus scheduled task into its own task so that it can be scheduled nightly when no one is on the server instead of it occurring during refreshes. I would also like to suggest some sort of throttling of MBPlus activity/processing so that it doesn't starve resources for the rest of Emby processing.
  6. Hi, Looking for some help Emby Server Version 3.0.5675.1 O/S WinServer 2012 R2 E Issue : playback stalls after a while (say 10 minutes) you get to watch 5-10 second clips, then a pause, then the next clip. Everything had been fine, until I shut the system down for a couple of weeks at the beginning of July, and it hasn't worked since Specifically, it stutters on Android and Web on windows PC, and the new Kodi addon just says 'opening stream', but never plays anything (previously it used to directly play the file). I suspect multiple problems At this point, I'm supposed to attach a server log file, but the one for today is already >10MB, so will need to cut and paste lines. Looking at it, the bulk of it is two lines repeated 2015-07-23 13:11:09.8799 Info - App: HttpClientManager POST: http://192.168.1.102:1400/MediaRenderer/RenderingControl/Control 2015-07-23 13:11:12.2548 Info - App: HttpClientManager POST: http://192.168.1.72:1400/MediaRenderer/RenderingControl/Control the two IP address are two Sonos Zone players (there are five in total, the other three never appear in the list). I'm not sure if this is a red herring (as far the suttering / transcoding issue goes) but I think it indicates something that needs fixing Less often, you get the following error 2015-07-23 11:13:29.7802 Error - UpnpContentDirectory: Error processing control request *** Error Report *** Version: 3.0.5675.1 Command line: C:\Users\NetAdmin\AppData\Roaming\MediaBrowser-Server\system\MediaBrowser.ServerApplication.exe -service Operating system: Microsoft Windows NT 6.2.9200.0 Processor count: 8 64-Bit OS: True 64-Bit Process: False Program data path: C:\Users\NetAdmin\AppData\Roaming\MediaBrowser-Server Application Path: C:\Users\NetAdmin\AppData\Roaming\MediaBrowser-Server\system\MediaBrowser.ServerApplication.exe One or more errors occurred. Not sure if it shows anything. To me it looks like it was transcoding away at 500 fps, then stopped with an error, but I could easily be misreading it TranscodeLog.txt ServerLog Ist Half.txt

    Constant buffering

This program constantly buffers and I have lightning fast internet. Wanted to try something different but this clearly has light years to go
  8. Emby client for WMC has started to become slow in response times. When I select emby from the WMC menu, it takes over 30 seconds to respond. Once selected, it will remain on the main WMC screen doing nothing, then 30 seconds later (possibly more, haven't timed it) it will then go into the emby interface. I tried to do the suggestions in this post: http://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/19766-mbclient-slow-load-30-seconds/ but couldn't find the advanced config page in Emby. I've always selected automatically detect as well, I've never hard coded a path to my server. My emby server is installed on the same pc as wmc and emby for wmc and I have configured network shares for my libraries with UNC paths. I've also noticed as well that every time once I get in and browse to a genre folder, it takes about 5 seconds (sometimes longer depending on how many movies I have in that genre) before all my movies will show up. I've set a local cache folder path on the server as well hoping this would speed things up but it hasn't made a difference. Anyone have other suggestions I could try?
  9. After using MB2 for years, I recently upgraded to MB3 and generally speaking everything works very well. The only feature that seems to have been much better in MB2 is the way trailers played. In MB3, when a trailer is started, it goes into 'Buffering' and it takes a very long time to start playing, plus usually in the middle of a trailer, it goes back to 'Buffering' again. It's not fun this way My media center is on a 2.4 GHz wireless N connection, my internet connection is plenty fast and streaming videos from my home server to the media center is no problem otherwise. Is this because the MB2 Trailer plugin downloaded and stored the trailers locally, while the new 'Trailers' feature performs a direct download every time a trailer is played? What can I do to make watching trailers a better experience? Thanks.

Movie Titles Load Slow or Freeze

I had this issue on the Roku 3 with my last server and now again with my new one. When I initially open my MB3 on my Roku 3 and go into my movie collection it lags HEAVILY. I go to the next movie and it takes 2 seconds to change the number from 1 to 2. If I go over 3+ movies it locks all together. I can still browser back and fourth but I cannot click anything or go back. Again I have had the same problem with both servers! Any help I can get would be greatly appreciated. 11. I'm suddenly seeing super slow performance from the web gui, switching between tv and movie for example will take between 2 and 4 mins when it is usually a couple of seconds for anything to show up. I looked through the log and i'm seeing a lot of warning and debugs like this: Warn - BaseItem: Unable to find linked item at xxxxxxxx I've pulled up several of the items it showing that error for in plex and they play fine, plex is also moving at normal speed. https://app.box.com/s/5gb8we3h9r0izui8zws8 is the log if anyone can take a look and has an idea? Thanks
