Most of the time one uses the search to just search for Movie Titles or a quick way to access a TV Series. But some search terms flood one with actors, trailers, or even episodes of a TV serial. Not that they are wrong and sometimes you want to see them, and i fact I want to keep actors, trailers and episodes; just not in the default search (but maybe having the option to search for that too) Best Regards

Hi guys, Long time user here... back from the MB 1.0 days! Anyways I've had an issue with Local Trailers not playing correctly for the past year or so now. I finally narrowed it down today and determined the cause. There's two basic ways that local trailers can be stored and named. First is to have the trailer in the same folder as the movie file itself, with an identical name plus the -trailer suffix. Alternatively you can have a /Trailers sub-folder within each movie folder, as listed here.. https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44001159193-trailers Traditionally any file in the /Trailers sub folder would be played as a local trailer. It could be named "Trailer.mkv", "Transformerstrailer.mkv" "1.mkv", etc. The name itself didn't matter much, and it definitely didn't have to have the exact same name as the movie file in the main folder, or the exact same name as the main folder itself. However, this seems to have changed and is broken. After much testing I have determined that NO local trailers play unless they are named identical to the main movie folders name, with the addition of the -trailer suffix. It doesn't matter that the trailer is in the /trailers sub folder. This completely negates the reason for having the subfolder method to begin with. Can someone please work on fixing this and having Emby Server recognize any file in the trailers subfolder as a trailer once more? Thank you!

Hi, I'm not able to play trailers on my iPAD. The waiting cursor just keep spinning, and no trailer starts. This happens both when I try to view a trailer of on of my movies in the library and when using the Trailer addon. Anyone else have this problem, and is there a fix? Regards, Roar

It would be awesome to add to the functionality of the codec intro feature so that a custom intro can play when it matches the movieDB or IMDB id it will play. So for example, I am making custom movie certificate preroll videos based off of the BBFC black cards, for me to get this to work, I have to tag each film uniquely in order for the preroll to show. It would be much smoother if the codec intro could use the movie Id as then I only need to video name to match the Movie ID which cuts the amount of work in half ie. for the Yellow Submarine Movie I could just have a video called '12105.mp4' in my custom codec intro video path. It would be useful in other use cases for example people replicating movie preroll quizzes or trivia that some cinemas do. This is probably a duplicate request, however I feel like it is unique enough to warrant it's own post.

Hi, in Emby i can play the Trailers from TheMovieDB, but in Kodi is now (1-3 Updates) no trailer available anymore. I've synced with addon mode and native mode, no trailer. Emby Server is version 4.2.0.26 and Emby for Kodi is 4.1.3 on Odroid C2 with Coreelec 9.0.x nightly (Kodi 18.3), i don't know on what side the problem is, Emby or Kodi. Question about trailers: I have a movie, 3 Days to Kill from 2014. Filename "3 Days To Kill (2014) - 1080p.mkv" https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2172934/?ref_=nv_sr_2?ref_=nv_sr_2 All meta data thats has been downloaded is fine, but emby cannot find any trailer for this movie. I have installed the Cinema Mode plugins on the server. The plugin is set up to include trailers from movies in my library. All my movies are the the same directory "Movies" on my NAS. Why is there no trailer for this movie? Actually there are a lot of movies where there are no trailer, the above is just one example. Hope someone can help me.

Hi, since last version, my trailer menu image apply 2 time the diamond treatment. All other menu image are working well. I have try to desactivate some treatment but i cant solve problem. If i desactivate the folder media, trailer still have 1 diamond treatment activated.

Nevertheless, he somehow takes over the storage, despite loop (see picture). In Emby (Chrome), the local trailer is also played and then the respective movie. But in Kodi for Emby (addon), a trailer is played, but then it is not changed on the movie. On the contrary, the movie is marked as seen and I end up back in my selection. Hi Leute, Wie kann in den Trailer Tab unter Filme deaktivieren? Ich verwende kein Plugin da diese sowieso nur englisch sind und mich das nicht interesiert. Deshalb ist der Tab etwas störend, besonders freunde / familie sind verwirrt von einer leeren seite

I use excellent plugins of trailers. The written content is perfect in my language Portuguese. But, when are you going to watch the movie, the language is in English. Is there a solution so that the trailers of the films also are in PORTUGUESE? Or so, subtitled, legend in Portuguese? Thanks again

I am running Emby Version 3.0.7200.0. I installed the Trailer Plugin but realized it wasn't very usefully unless I was an Emby Premier subscriber. I' tried to uninstall the plugin and restart, but it's still there. Is there a way to manually delete it?? Please help! Thank You! Emby Log.txt

I've used the cinema mode's automatic pre-show trailer settings before. And I've seen the settings for theme songs, but have never wanted to try that. Similar but different, and growing in popularity are after-the-show special talk shows. Like Talking Dead and After the Thrones. If there was a setting near cinema mode to auto queue these specials, we could specify which show we want to follow up The Walking Dead by typing the IMDb/tvdb code or otherwise link the after-show. Then the queueing features would work identically to existing ones, like showing the "next up" info 30 seconds or whatever before your show is over. Then proceed into the after party. Auto queue would parse the specified supplementary show for an episode with the same premiere date (+ one day for flexibility on 11pm TV shows and 12am after shows). If enabled it should warn users if their desired after show is missing before starting the main program.

Today l bought an iOS app mostly due to trailers feature but I faced a problem - all my downloaded trailers plays with transcoding only due to missed "Direct" option in the settings while playing trailer (see attached screenshots) I made simple experiment: 1. Saved movie with supported video and audio format, Emby server see it 2. On iPad I can select it, choose "Direct" option in playback settings and play it without transcoding 3. Create a copy of this file, add "-trailer" at the end of the name to make Emby treat it as movie trailer 4. On iPad's app "Trailer" button appears, I can play it but can't select "Direct" option for direct play Is it possible to play offline trailers on iOS devices without transcoding? Thanks in advance

The preview trailer for movies in my library don't show for client devices, but are displaying on my Emby windows 10 server. Devices: Shield, AFTV & Droid mobile devices. So is this user error or can clients not display trailer previews for library content like the server side does?

Occasionally, I have a trailer link in Emby that is no good (for instance, 8 crazy nights links to this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xl0678yMJC4). Is there any way for me to manually specify a trailer that works for these? I found the trailer link section in the NFO, pointed it to a working trailer, and it insists on linking to the automagically linked trailer that I posted above. Is there a cache somewhere that I need to refresh after changing the NFO? Thanks in advance.

Hi all, I'm new to Emby / Media Browser and so far am liking the functionality and speed. I've gotten hung up on one issue - it seems to me that Emby is not scraping trailer information from themoviedb.com. Maybe I'm missing something and would certainly appreciate a push in the right direction. I am using Kodi (Helix 14.2) and the latest Emby Addon for Kodi (1.0). It connects just fine and play video beautifully from my server (running ver 3.0.5621.4). The problem is when I go into my movies, open the context menu, select movie information and try to play a trailer, the trailer button does not show up. The trailer button not showing up is normal behavior for the confluence skin if no trailer information is available. This function works just fine when I point Kodi to my library and get it to scrape from themoviedb.com. I have exported my library and confirmed lines such as the following appear in the videodb.xml: <trailer>plugin://plugin.video.youtube/?action=play_video&videoid=nijccxWvyXU</trailer>. It appears that through Kodi, trailer information has been obtained and playing the trailer through the youtube addon works beautifully. When i export my library when using Emby, there is nothing included between <trailer></trailer>. Suggesting that the trailer information has not been scraped? To me this suggests that somehow Emby isn't scraping this infomation and Kodi is?? I have made sure that themoviedb is on the top of all the lists on metadata services. Any other suggestions would be helpful. Having this function work would be amazing - being able to watch the trailer directly from the movie library make picking a movie so much easier (and eliminates all the "what was that movie about again?"). Have just noticed the recent improvements to the reports module and really like them. Really good progression in this area Hoping I was missing something or there was an easy addition to the video filters that could be made. Previously i used this to identify where a movie was missing a trailer however now i can only see how to do the reverse and list those that have a trailer. Not very helpful when i want to track down missing library trailers I have auto update to beta enabled so running the most recent release. Can someone point me in the right direction or a dev look at restoring this filter?

This is purely a cosmetic issue for trailers channel sort compared to other sort menus.

I use the trailer plug-in to download trailers for movies I have, and all work except for one movie. Hi I am currently running MediaBrowser Server Version 3.0.5390.25829 with Local Trailers Plugin Version 1.0.5389.12439 and having a problem with it. When I try to manually run the plugin to search for new local trailers for my movie collection it only seems to run for 1 sec then says complete. Before I upgraded both server and plugin to latest version if I manually run the plugin I could see the percentage counter moving from 0% to 100% as it was searching through my movies to find local trailers. Now it seems nothing is happening.
