    Common Sense Media ratings

You have critic ratings and tomato meter, it would be be nice to see a Common Sense Media age rating. Or an option to turn it on or a plugin to enable it. Thanks!
  2. Old MediaBrowser with WMC user before i switched to Kodi I always used a shared Mysql for managing my library's till someone suggested me to use Emby. i'm trying to manage to separate my kids movies with my own movies. i was following the tips from the following topic https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/62048-separating-tv-movies-adult-kids/ but it seems that it takes a long time to load the kids nodes and that every time i'm accessing the kids nodes. the normal movie entry created by Emby works instant. Then i thought i might use the so called automatic created playlist that Emby makes. but i don't see any automatic created playlist when i want to add something. Also when i'm in Kodi and in the Emby settings where you can manage your library it only shows Movies and TV Shows and not the Kids Library

    Login screen for all users?

I know I must be missing something simple that maybe I changed when I first installed. When I was setting this up I was always logging in as myself. Now that things are mostly working I wanted it, on launch to be able to go to the login screen and you either select myself or the Kids user. I have the kids user set up but I can't figure out what I need to do to get it to ask at each login. Thanks Josh

    Kids night time suggestion

I am looking for a way to shuffle episodes of a certain TV show but have it stop after a certain amount of time... At the moment I am using a FireTV and at night I pick whatever cartoon TV show the kids would like to watch. Then I hit the shuffle all episodes button, put the TV on a timer, and let it roll... My issue is that it just plays and plays all night. Even though the TV is off it is still rolling through episodes. What ends up happening is that sometime in the night, the emby-server will crash, and I have to do a restart the next morning. Does anyone have a better way for me to do this?

    Kid Friendly View

Good Day All, I'm looking for a "kid friendly" view to fit my child's profile where they can login, see the "Kids Movies" folder i've created, click said folder, see said movies (or just see said movies to begin with and skip the top level folder view), and then simply do a "Click to Play" function. My 4yr old doesn't really have the desire, yet, to read about reviews, plots, see what actors are in it. She just wants to watch her movies. Also, is there a way to eliminate the scrolling tabs at the top that call out Home/Next Up/Favorites/Upcoming? another feature that i'd love to eliminate for simplicity purposes. Thank you all for your time and thoughts, sd
  6. I think I solved the Emby and Kodi Master Lock issue. At least, it has worked for me since June 28, 2015 with no apparent negative impacts. CAUTION/DISCLAIMER: This worked for me on a networked dual server source/multiple client setting. I cannot guarantee it will work for your specific set up. Here is a step-by-step of what I did, and some tips and pointers I learned; I am doing it from memory a week after the fact, so I hope I didn't forget anything. Please feel free to shoot anything down if you wish. My whole reason for doing this was to have multiple profiles that were protected by passwords (one for the master user, one for parents) and multiple profiles without protection, but restricted in Emby, for the kids Set up your first profile in Kodi, including your skin settings. This will be the master user profile. Install the Emby plug-in and restart Kodi, and then scan your library Exit the program once the scan is done. Do NOT enable Masterlock yet! Create the other profiles you want, but for each one, choose the media info to be separate and the sources to be the same. When I kept the media info the same, the child profile I created for my son could see the poster for each movie, but not play them. I wanted the posters to be out of the way altogether. You may want to set all of your settings before cloning your profiles. I did not and it was painful later on because I was adding and removing the same sources over and over to create the menus the way I wanted. Let Emby scan the library for each user Exit the program. Install a dummy sources.xml file in the master user folder. Here's the file I used: <sources> <programs> <default pathversion="1"></default> </programs> <video> <default pathversion="1"></default> <source> <name>dummy one</name> <path pathversion="1">smb://kore/dummy new/</path> <allowsharing>true</allowsharing> </source> <source> <name>dummy two</name> <path pathversion="1">smb://kore/dummy viewed/</path> <allowsharing>true</allowsharing> </source> </video> <music> <default pathversion="1"></default> </music> <pictures> <default pathversion="1"></default> </pictures> <files> <default pathversion="1"></default> </files> </sources> Here is the most important part of the sources file that worked for me: I needed two dummy sources. Each time I used only one, it never worked. Don't ask me why, I do not know. You do not need to have any real paths in the file. If you do, Kodi will actually scan those paths and if your skin shows library totals, it will be off because of double-counted movies. Create symbolic links to the file for the other profile folders, or create copies. Either way works. Start Kodi and log in as the Master User Enable the Master Lock Exit the program Log in as another user and you should be able to see your movies. All Emby movies will be under the "Movies" section of your skin, and not under Videos. You can set lock codes for other users as well, or leave them blank. Hints and tips: If I had to do it all over again, I would set all settings first and then clone the profiles. Before cloning, I would remove “videos” from the shortcuts, and the ability to add sources: I also removed the parent folder visibility because clicking on that in the skin would kick me right out of my customized menu and into the "Video" part of Kodi. It's also a good idea to add sources to various movie collections (if needed) for all your movies at once, and then clone. The reason for this is that it is easier to add everything and remove them from the custom skin shortcuts for your cloned profiles (one action, "delete") than to add a new shortcut ("add a button", "choose a shortcut", "browse to source", "add source"). Here's what mine looks like: I hope that helps some other users out there. As a Dad, it's important for me to keep the parent movies away from my kids, and I like to have two separate locked accounts so one can act like the admin. If you have any questions, let me know. I can't promise a quick response, but I'll try.
  7. As per the subject line, my son's account canaccess all the movie folders that are not intended for him when he is on the iPad Mini. On the web and TV client, all is good... He has identical settings to my daughter, but her profile is just fine. The issue only started after I gave them acess to the adult TV folder (so they could watch The Simpsons....) and changed their access levels to TV-14 from TV-PG/PG. Her's is fine, she can now see all the TV sereis that are TV-14 and under. He can see all sorts of folders and I have confirmed he can play R-rated movies. I have: Rebooted the server Rebooted the iPad Logged him in and out several times Checked the access levels and tried re-applying them again. Short of deleting and recreating his account, is there anything else I can do?
  8. I have just discovered Media Browser (currently using XBMC) and I’m in the process of playing around with it with the thought of using it perminantly. Very impressed so far.... I have a question though... I have created a set of media folders on my HDD for testing and used the following structure: Films Kids Films Kids TV Series Music Music Videos TV Series In Media Browser I have added the following media folders Films - Type = Movies Kids Films - Type = Movies Kids TV Series - Type = TV Shows Music - Type = Music Music Videos - Type = Music Videos TV Series - Type = TV Shows I have setup three User Profiles, Lee (With pin code) Stephanie (With pin code) Kids (No pin required) I have given the kids the Library Access to Collections (Made with the plugin Auto Box Sets) Films Kids Films Kids TV Series I have also restricted the User Kids to a parental rating of GB-12 on “Movies” & “TV Shows” Apart from the odd film which would bore them (Adult film with GB-12 rating), this works great. I could even edit the rating of those films for the perfect experiance for the Kids. For the users Lee & Stephanie I have removed the Library Access to Kids Films Kids TV Series However when loged onto either user Lee or Stephanie under the Movies selection there are Kids Films. Is there a way of stopping this from happening? I understand I have selected the Media Type as Movies, but there was no Kids Movies option, and thought this was for scraping. Is the Library Access feature still work in progress? I assumed this would disable the Kids Films from my Library view.
