  1. My music collection consists of uncompressed flac files. Before I move head with Emby I need to know if I play a flac file to the mobile app over tower using my data will the file be transcoded to an mp3 file, and downgraded so I do not kill my data? I looked in the settings of the app, and I do not see a setting to set Music Quality to tell it to stream at a certain bit rate. I see it for movies, but not for music. Also, I seen someone mention about the app cashing the music file while listening to the app, I see the web client already does this, it would be great if the app did this as well. iBroadcast does this, it will cache the song while playing, and then cache the next song after it, its a really nice feature to implement if possible?

Seek is broken in latest release

@@ebr -- Have you received reports of playback regressions on v2.9.07? I've been watching Emby videos on my phone for many months so I think this bug was introduced recently. Example: 1) I'm watching a video and I'm 15min in and I want to rewind a few minutes so I show the seek bar and then I tap earlier on the timeline 2) The video pauses for about 15 seconds 3) The video resumes playing at like 23min in (so it went to a different time than I clicked, in this case it even went forward instead of backwards) I also tried pausing the video, changing the seek location, and hitting play -- at which point it began playing from the beginning of the video. Thanks! EDIT: The situation I described about pausing the video and it restarting the video at the beginning -- actually it was starting at the beginning of NEXT episode. So by trying to seek it bailed on the episode altogether and started playing the next episode.

    Offline Mode

Hi all, I have just started to use the synchronisation functionality available within Emby and noted a couple of points that render it almost unusable as a solution for my scenario! I use the Android app on my tablet and, as expected, the items that have been marked for synchronisation do copy down to the device correctly. The first problem is that they can only be copied to internal storage which means there is a severe handicap on the space that can be used. I tried to change it to SD card; however, it would seem the app is not requesting the appropriate permission (an example of an app that does do this correctly is Solid Explorer). The next problem comes when trying to use the app in a location where there is no network connectivity available. I currently have to browse to the file using a file explorer app and also use a video player app. On top of all this, I am required to manually mark the item as watched the next time I use Emby with network connectivity. Please enable an offline mode which will queue the watched and resume statuses for local items to the server on the next available connection! Thanks, Adil
  4. Hello! Thank you everyone involved to make emby possible. Well, I installed the emby server Version: 3.1.1.0 on my laptop for testing purposes. Everything went well and I can access my test files over my Xbox One, another PC, and my Lumia 950 XL using app.emby.media on Edge. But I can't connect using the official W10 mobile emby app. When I try to use "Emby Connect" the app returns the error "HeaderLoginFailure" and "MessageInvalidUser" And connecting manually to the server returns ""Connection Failure. We're unable to connect to the selected server right now. Please ensure it is running and try again" Using the non official emby app I can connect without problems using the "Emby Connect" and by IP+port. Looking at the server log, the only thing I think maybe is wrong is the GET request the APP is sending to the server: 2016-12-22 20:42:06.4608 Info HttpServer: HTTP GET http://192.168.2.15:8096/emby/System/Logs/Log?name=server-63618013405.txt. Thank you!

Payment in app versus in server

Hi, new to emby so please excuse if this has been covered. I did not turn up anything in my search. When using mobile apps, there is an option for a one-time $5 purchase. There is also the premium service for the server itself. Please explain the relationship between these two. Specifically; must the app purchase be made for each device? must the app purchase be made for each media type (movies, music, etc)? must the app purchase be made for each individual server to which I connect? must the app purchase be made regardless of having premium on the server? Thanks so much for your help. must the app purchase be made for each individual server?
  6. When I open my Android Emby app, two scenarios are possible: - Connect Successfully - Connection unsuccessful. Go to server configuration. Well... it happens that JUST because my server wasn't reached, it doesn't mean there's something wrong and I have to be redirected to config pages. Sometimes it's just about waiting a few seconds and trying again (or even insisting a little more before giving up connection). I believe that this breaks Emby's connection transparency. I think that the best way would be to create a sidepanel that, WHEN DESIRED, could be slided in to reconfigure, connect manually or even emby connect. This way... Emby would retry non-stop (maybe with a tries counter, "retrying in N sec..."), until you REALLY want to manually configure it again. I'm thinking about installing Android Emby app on my wife's phone, but she is far from a tech user, and those users will cleary be confused with config pages. Common users hate config screens and just want app to work... even if takes a little while to connect. What do you think?
  7. Recently I've noticed that in Live TV, "New" episodes aren't showing in the guide, under channel, or when you select the show that is "New". It appears to be only affecting mobile as when I use a computer to browse I see the "New" tag, thus ruling out an issue with Schedules Direct. I'm having this issue on my Nexus 6P running Android N build NPD35K. I understand that Android N might not be support as it's a beta Android, I'll check on my Nexus 7 later today that's on Android M. Screenshots attached.
  8. I don't know if this is already possible, but if it is, I'd love it if someone could explain Alright, I've got a computer hooked up to a television screen, I use that to watch my media. However, late at night, I have to turn it down so I don't wake my family. I thought that it'd be a cool feature to be able to plug headphones into my phone, which I usually use to remote control the playback, and hear the sound, allowing me to mute the television, but hear through my headphones. Hopefully you understand what I mean by this, and thanks for your time!
  9. Hey, It looks like it's not easily possible to sign up to MB connect with a mobile device. The account creation first heads to an tapatalk advertisement and then goes to the forum login. This occurred with an Android phone. MB Connect sign up was initiated from the Emby app.
  10. Hi guys. First let me say, excellent software, I love it. A job well done. Ok, so here's my problem, and I'm sure this has been addressed, but I can't seem to find my answer. I have server set up, Android app installed, Theater installed. I have everything set up and running, but even after port forwarding (I have an Arris TG862G/CT router) I can't watch my movies on my mobile. When I use the browser (chrome), I can logon to the dashboard and view my library, but the movies just won't start. Using the app when not on wifi, putting in the port and/or address, gets me nothing at all. What am I doing wrong? Thanks
  11. I was wondering how will the sync feature work from the clients? Like after you sync something via the server, how will you access it on the mobile client? Because right now when there is no server available, you cant really navigate offline in the client. Will clients also sync the user that was used to sync the content so you can login with it with no server available?
  12. This might be a dumb question but I don't seem to be able to find how to play an entire season of a TV series when using the Windows 8.1 store app on my surface pro 3 or on my windows phone, is there way to do this? Same goes for playing random episodes of a season. I can easily do this in MB Classic by simply hitting play on a season folder, then selecting either play all or play random. I have ensured all my mediabrowser installs are updated to the latest release. Any help would be great.
  13. The Web Client in any of my computers under any browser display the subtitles. But when I open the Web Client in a mobile device under the chrome browser app (for some reason I can't log in in the safari browser) never displays the subtitles. Both under the same user's settings. Any suggestions will be appreciated
  14. Hi All, I am having trouble getting my media to stream to my iOS mobile app. I can see the library, and when I hit play I only get a black screen. I've reinstalled MBT, and the codecs it comes with. My files are primarily .mp4. Thanks to anyones ideas!
