Is it possible to set an audio/video sync adjustment / offset / delay in Emby Web? I'm using Emby Web on a laptop that is playing audio through bluetooth speakers and there is a consistent delay in the audio (audio is behind video by about 500ms or so). I would like to compensate for this by setting an offset/delay to the audio or video. Is this possible? I cannot find a setting anywhere.

Hi everyone We are looking at getting a dedicated audio playing app for Emby up for closed testing on PlayStore shortly, and was wondering if people might be interested it trying it out and providing feedback? Features: Android Auto support Chromecast support Download media onto device via WiFi/Mobile for complete offline support - can search, mix and play content without access to your server Filter content, such as genres, artist albums, album artists by years and genre Playlists - create playlists, automatically download new content added - in the case of offline playlists. Resume playback of last positions in playing queues, audiobooks and albums, etc. Open to any suggestion for other features.... Please note: This will not be a free app - it will be a full featured trial, which upon expiry will require a once off purchase At this stage the app will be Android only, no iOS just yet unfortunately Alpha version will be available shortly, pending interest in testing and feedback.

Hello, I have observed that all the content that I am seeing, that has been downloaded to the mobile, the progress of the viewing point or indicating that it has been viewed, only saves it in the local version (downloaded) and that information is not communicates it to the server. Therefore, if I am viewing a movie (downloaded to a device) and I leave it halfway, and then I want to continue watching that movie on the server, it does not save me at the point where I left it halfway. As if I have downloaded a series and have seen 3 chapters, for example, these in my library then appear without viewing. I think that once the device connects to the server, it should synchronize that information between the mobile device, tablet, etc. and the server.

Hi! I just configured the Trakt plug-in on my Emby server. I ran the “Sync Library” task manually under Scheduled Tasks. It cleared out my whole collection in Trakt. Rather than be upset, I thought I’d just get curious about what’s happening. So I went to Trakt and “recollected” Season 1 of Westworld and after the scheduled task ran, my Trakt collection got emptied out again. I doublechecked the Emby page for the show and it has the correct Trakt link at the bottom of the page. How do we troubleshoot why the plug-in is not pushing my Emby collection to Trakt using this instance as an example?

Hi, I've been using Emby for at least month on a temporary server and now consider buying premiere sub, there are some movie collections though that I configured myself, creating custom images, thumbs, description, etc. Will those images and descriptions carry over (if I have premiere sub) when I install Emby server on a dedicated linux server (using the same hdd, but obviously different os) and do backup and restore? OCD kinda kicks in and I really like how I organize my files. Thank you.

Hello! I can't download any movie by clicking on the download button of any movie. As soon as I click on download on the movie of my choice, I go to the "manage" tab to follow the progress and after waiting 30 min it remains on 0%... all users have the same problem including me who is the administrator. I am Emby first and my Emby is on Linux. Can you help me? Traduit avec DeepL (https://www.deepl.com/app/?utm_source=ios&utm_medium=app&utm_campaign=share-translation

I have setup a few TV Shows to use Folder Sync to move files into a Google Drive folder (mounted through Rclone). This works perfectly, however I have one small issue. Once files are converted and the transfer to the folder they take a structure of: TV/<Show>/<Season>/<Episode Name>/File.ext Is it possible to remove the <Episode Name> part as it means I need to know exactly what the name of my episode was to know where I am in the series? Thanks,

It would be great if the camera sync feature could organize uploaded pictures and videos into folders organized by dates like: 2015-01-31

Title basically says it, I'm trying to download a movie to my Ipad Pro 3rd gen. (iOS 13.5). If I play it online, it works, but as soon as I download it to my Ipad it doesnt have sound. This doesn't happen with the same movie on my Android Tablet when doing the same thing. Other movies have worked as intended on the Ipad. The movie in question is in German, but also has English audio bundled (both 6-channel DTS). The movie uses .mkv format. Any pointers to fix this? Unfortunately I don't have a huge database to test, but atm one movie works for download, the other doesn't. On the Android, or while playing online, both work. Greetings

Hi Emby Team and Emby Community, I'm having a problem with the sync of the watched status from kodi to emby server. -------------------------------------------------------- My setup Kodi 18.9.0 based on Coreelec EmbyCon 1.9.106 on Kodi Emby 4.5.4.0 installed on Qnap x64 ------------------------------------------------------- After I turned to use Embycon instead of Emby on Kodi, I noticed the movied I already watched on Kodi was not marked watched in Emby side, the wathched status wasn't recorded either. However, any watch status in Emby side (e.g. web, iphone) will immediately sync to Kodi. It seems the sync only work in one direction : Emyb to Kodi.

Hi all, I'm using Emby to share library to family but I was surprised when I discovered that a user can sync any file from its authorized libraries to any device previosuly connected to Emby even if this user has never logged this device (even if this device belongs to another guy). How is it possible to limit devices to user's devices only that Emby admin has no knowledge of ?

Completed Download and sync multiple audio (and maybe subtitle) tracks
siracacl posted a topic in Feature Requests
Hi there, a request for Emby Server. I have been using Download and Sync very much lately to minimize transcoding, the only thing I don't seem to find is an option to convert the movie/episode with multiple audio tracks and keeping their metadata so one can select the transcoded version and different languages within the transcoded version. This feature would be greatly appreciated. -
Thanks in advance for the help. When downloading music, the app offers to automatically download new content (sync) added to the folder you just downloaded. I foolishly chose to enable that option. Now, I'd like to disable that sync in an effort to more tightly manage the stuff that I download to my phone. Unfortunately, with that sync enabled it won't just let me remove the downloads. If I do, they just download again right away. In an effort to disable the sync, I went into Manage Downloads (both in the Android app and on the Windows server), clicked into one of the downloaded albums and deselected the "Automatically download new content" option, and then tried to remove the download. I even verified the deselection of that option on both my phone and on the server before removing the download, but of course that still didn't work. The album still just downloaded itself again right after removing it. I've since discovered that there seems to be at least 7 entries for every album, playlist, or whatever that I've downloaded. So I assume that when I disable the sync and removed the download for one of those entries, one of the other ones is causing it to sync again. That leads me to believe that I would need to click into every single entry (and there's a lot of them) in Manage Downloads to uncheck that stupid box before even trying to remove the downloads (again, 1 at a time). This already daunting task is made even more painful by the fact that whenever you click the save button after removing that option, the list gets reloaded and things move around. So keeping track of which entries you've disable and which ones you haven't becomes near impossible. I think I would also need to uninstall the app from my phone before doing any of this to make that it doesn't it doesn't check in with the server and sync again while I'm making my way through the list. Can anyone help me? There has got to be a better way to get rid of your downloaded music and start over. Where is this setting stored behind the scenes? Is there a file somewhere where I can more easily disable the sync option in bulk? Is there somewhere I can completely wipe everything out that's listed under Manage Downloads (just called Downloads on Emby Server)? The method I've described above is immensely infuriating, enough to make me question whether I really want to continue on using Emby as my media server. I am using the latest versions of both the Android app on Android 10 and Emby Server on Windows 10.

As things stand, the Camera Upload feature seems to put every single image file anywhere in my phone's storage (except for the Android/ subtree? Not sure) on the server. Given I have music folders that may contain album-art, and an ebook reader that seems to extract covers from the books and store them as images, this is less than ideal. Is there a way to make the app ignore certain folders? Possibly better yet, could it stick to uploading from the DCIM/ tree? If not, is this a planned feature? (I'm assuming the selection of files to upload is handled client-side, and that this therefore belongs in the Android Mobile section. If I'm wrong about that, I'll gladly go post in one of the server subfora)

Unable to download/sync more than one conversion profile for google drive sync
mebezac posted a topic in General/Windows
Hi, I've set up the most recent version of Emby with the google drive plugin and premier enabled so I can sync to it. I can convert/sync one time without issue to google drive. However, anytime I try to convert for a different quality it fails. Is it only possible to convert for 1 quality? Here's a picture of my "Movies" library that has 1 file in it. Here's my downloads tab where you can see that 1 job worked fine, but the other failed: The mobile 4Mbps found the file and converted it fine: And you can see the file in my google drive in the expected place: As you can see there's only the 1 file (the Mobile 4Mbps). If you look at the download settings for the mobile 1.5Mbps, you can see it didn't do anything: I'm wondering if this is a file name issue? The mobile 4 Mbps file has a name of The.Life.Aquatic.with.Steve.Zissou.(2004).mp4 with no mention of the quality. I've also attached the server logs from when I deleted the mobile 1.5Mbps download job thing and then re-added it. Nothing jumps out to me when skimming it. embyserver.txt -
Hello I can't download media from the server to a device like iphone or other devices. The file remains only ready to sent, Even the task provided for this purpose launched by force does not start the transfer. What i forget to do? Thank you...

I'd like to understand the workings of sync before I fully commit to using Emby. Basically I'm looking for an alternative to Google Play for my music and the fact Emby can handle video is a plus. I've read as much content on sync as I can handle but haven't been able to form a coherent understanding of how sync works. At home that's not an issue since all my devices have access to my network server where Emby is installed. I'm concerned strictly with using Emby to stream content when I'm away from home. The wiki says my content is not moved to the cloud. That's great since I have close to 90 GB of audio. So, when I play tracks on my phone and I'm away from home does the Emby app handle it seamlessly or do I have to sync something? How will the content be served to my phone? Does Emby make a temporary copy of my audio files to the cloud prior to serving them to my phone? If so is there any lag? How long does it remain on the cloud? Are there any limits such as the amount that can be uploaded? Can hardware play a role? Like the platform of the Emby server, the router, web service, connection speed etc? Please be as technical and thorough as possible. Thanks!

When I use the Chrome app to play music via a playlist on the remote server, the music played has become out of sync with the track selected. In other words, if I select track n°10 in the playlist, it actually plays N°11 or 12. I didn't see anything in the database about that but appreciate that i might be using the wrong tags. Can anybody suggest a work around? Thanks, Steve

It would be nice if the selected movie "version" will be respected when clicking the download or sync button. I have two versions for every movie, one for the (big) tv's and one for mobile devices. Now my Android device downloads the biggest file no matter which one I've selected.

I have a student account in google drive practically unlimited, I can use that shared drive for emby sync or I necessarily need to use the common drive that only has 15 gb? @@cayars

I am trying to backup files to a portable external drive preserving the original size (profile: original). The video files is correctly copied. However the srt file was not copied and a vtt file is created instead. My problem is that when I plug the drive in my TV, vtt files are not recognised. Could the sync as is copy also the original srt files?

Morning all I have just started with Emby after using Plex for several years. I am loving it so far however I am having an issue with Cloud Sync to G-Drive. I have installed the Cloud Sync plugin successfully but I have no option to Sync any where in any of the menus. Anyone come across this before or have any idea what the issue might be? I have been over the plugin settings and everything looks fine there. I cant see pointers in the logs. I am running Emby in Docker on Fedora 30 server. Docker version 1.13.1, build 47e2230/1.13.1 Emby Version 4.4.1.0 Thanks Scott

Hi all, I've posted a similar topic before. Then user ebr asked me to place my topic in the appropriate forum. Since I'm convinced this is a feature request I'll try to formulate my question more in that fashion. Introduction I've purchased Emby Premiere because I wanted to make use of the Download/Sync functionality. Sadly I don't use it, because of the way it's implemented. Feature Requests It would be really nice to have the Users "Download & Sync" settings and behavior to be aligned with the Users "Media Playback" settings and behavior. Explanation part 1 So what does this mean? It means that in the Emby settings (Server -> Users -> User) the following configuration is possible for "Media Playback": It would be really convenient to have the exact same options in the "Download & Sync" section of the same page, which now only contains the following: Why? I only wan't some really efficient/cheap transcoding on my server like subtitles, audio and media container (mkv/mp4). No video encoding/transcoding! Because it's too expensive + I'm really sure all my devices can decode H264 and all my movies are H264. Not sure why Emby something things it need to re-encode H264 to H264, but it does. Explanation part 2 The second part of this feature request is about the behavior. It would be really nice to have the exact (or at least the setting to enable this) behavior when you click "Play" (Streaming a movie/Media Playback) and when you Click Download (or Sync). This means that in both scenarios the mobile Emby app (iOS, Android, Browser, etc) will accept the options you filled in on the movie/serie page. For example, when I have this options enabled on my Android phone (notice Subtitles and Version): So I've selected a version called "Mobile" which is 720p H264 including AAC stereo audio and English .srt subtitles. I'm 100% sure all my (portable) devices can playback this. Clicking the Play button will: Play the "Mobile" 720p H264 version with the English .srt subtitles. As expected. On each (portable) device without any problem. Clicking the Download button will, depending on the device I'm on: Download the "Mobile" 720p H264 version with the English .srt subtitles. As expected; Download the "Mobile" 720p H264 version without English .srt subtitles. Download another version (sometimes even a 8GB one) with or without English .srt subtitles Takes the "Mobile" or a random other version and starts transcoding the video and/or the audio and afterwards downloads the transcoded version with or without English .srt subtitles. It wouldn't be a surprise that pressing the Download button is a surprise every time, but the nice thing is that it doesn't have to! Please let me know what you think of this idea. It doesn't have to replace the existing implementation, but in my opinion it would be a very nice addition to at least make the option available to treat "Downloads" the same as "Streams". Have a nice Holiday Season (Fijne kerstadagen in Dutch)!
