Hello, First post to the Emby forums so I apologize if this is the wrong place... I've been exploring replacing my Plex setup with Emby but am a little stuck. Unfortunately I'm a little new to the media hosting/streaming world so I have a feeling what I'm trying to do is possible, I'm just not asking Google with the right words. Here's what I'm trying to accomplish: Live-stream my IPTV set-top-box. A friend of mine with a fairly robust Emby setup does this wish his Comcast Cable and ServerWMC. Is there a way I can get the same level of control with my IPTV set top box (ADB 2721wx)? HDHomeRun was my first thought, but it looks like that won't support it. I've seen some hints that SlingBox might be able to do it too. Surely there is some hardware that can facilitate this. I have unlimited cloud storage that I'm able to map as a Local Drive on my server... it just thinks it's another disk albeit a little bit slower. I would love to be able use that as a DVR and media directory source. I already do it with Plex, and it works decent - a little goofy and touchy, but I'm tweaking some things and it's getting better and better all the time. My guess is that figuring out question 1 would help point me in the right direction, but if anyone has some recommendations I'd love to hear them. If it helps - my ISP is a local company that does everything over fiber. No Comcast/AT&T/Verizon/Dish etc. I really appreciate any help or advice anyone an provide, and sorry for the n00b question. Cheers! -Bowmaster

Every morning when I get up my server's fans are going full speed (which only usually happens during transcoding). A quick look into task manager's performance tab shows that my I5-4670K is CONSTANTLY running at 99% (which NEVER happens). I then take a peek at the processes tab and the culprit is media browser server. If I kill the application the CPU performance returns to normal and the fans return to their normal morning silence. I LOVE media browser, but I'm afraid it's going to blow up my computer. This happens every morning since I've updated to server version 3.0.5518.7. Also new with 3.0.5518.7.... My Roku gets stuck on the loading screen until you reboot it and all of my live TV channels have the same channel logo. If i re-install the previous sever version, everything works perfectly until it automatically updates its self back to 3.0.5518.7 and then the problems start all over again. Please Help!!!! server-63561110400.txt

A filter option to display HD channels only in Live TV would be preferable to having to manually add as favorites. Thanks for all the hard work, you devs!

Hey Guys, Have a configuration question that has been bugging me for a while now. Currently i am running WMC as my main setup, but more recently have been looking into Kodi as my main user interface. WMC records all shows into a single folder(E:\Recorded TV), Auto organize and MCE Buddy move the recordings around to Show folders (E:\Recorded TV\<Show Name>. Not all shows always get organized. Media browser does not see the shows that live in the root of the recorded TV folder. It would nice to be able see the shows before they get organized through Media Browser. Is this normal or do i need to adjust something? I would like to eventually get away from WMC completely and use Media Browser/Kodi/Live TV plugin if at all possible, but need to make sure everything works as expected.

I have been having issues with Live TV Streaming in Media Browser. I have tried all the possible solutions including changing the BufferDelayLiveMS setting in ServerWMC. It then occurred to me to disable my antivirus software and see if that helped. I also decided to restart Media Browser and ServerWMC after disabling the antivirus software I started a Live TV Stream and it came up fine and I continued to let it stream for about 15 minutes. In the past it would play for about 5 seconds, then start stuttering until it finally stopped and returned me to the channel page I was on before streaming the channel. I then decided to try streaming another live tv channel so I hit my browser back button and selected another live tv channel to stream. Although the Live TV Stream started to play, it stuttered for about 30 seconds, it then started playing normally and has been for about 30 minutes now. I think there are still some buffering issues with Media Browser and/or ServerWMC especially when changing live tv channels, but disabling my antivirus software definitely helped. What's strange is that Movies stream just fine. I plan on ignoring the RecordedTv directory along with the Transcode Directory (once I locate it) and run some further tests. I hope this observation helps others having the same issue as me.

ServerWMC is a windows program that allows a Windows Media Center (WMC) installation on one machine to act as a PVR backend for Emby. This enables Emby to provide live tv and PVR functions to its client apps that support it. To set it up, you need ServerWMC installed on the machine that has WMC installed and configured. Then in Emby you need to install and configure its ServerWMC plugin. ServerWMC can be downloaded from here: http://www.serverwmc.com The ServerWMC plugin for Emby can be found in the Emby plugin catalog. A quick setup guide (courtesy of mediaputer) can be found here: http://mediaputer.com/guides/2014/06/stream-live-tv-media-browser-serverwmc/ Please post bugs, questions, and new feature requests to this sub-forum.

I just set up a new host (Win7 x64 Enterprise) for my MediaBrowser Server and WMC (for DVR) and recently purchased the SiliconDust HD HomeRun Prime using with ServerWMC Live TV Plug-in. I am able to stream SD cable channels with no problem, but all the HD channels never load *spinning ring only until I hit the back button", I am suspecting that the HD channels are attempting to stream in at to high of a bit rate. Will there be a way to predefine a bit rate to choke down HD content over WAN to my client cell phone? Thank you, Scott Kemp

Up until last week I have had a very good experience with Media Browser. However, after the most recent update I can no longer load live TV channels from the Android client. If I choose Live TV it spins and spins. I am using Server WMC which also updated last week. No errors or problems are apparent when looking at either Server WMC or Media Browser server settings. Everything shows as OK. Advice is appreciated.

Hi all, First of all thanks for a fantastic piece of software and also to those of you who have helped develop such excellent plugins. I am having two problems, one of which I suspect is not due my MB3 client or server. Having said that, this is such a helpful forum I was hoping someone with a bit more technical knowledge might be able to steer me in the right direction. My setup is a Windows 8.1 machine plugged into my TV with WMC, ServerWMC, the MB3 server and Media Browser Classic installed on it. I also sometimes access my MB3 content via a web browser or the android app. I have two issues. 1. I am able to access my MB3 server from windows laptops (via web browser) and android devices (via app) on my local wireless network but not remotely. I think this is because I have not managed to open port 8096 correctly. I have run a test on canyouseeme.org and the port appears to be closed. Initially I thought the problem was because I had a netgear r7000 router running behind a billion 7800N router/modem but I have since put the Billion in bridge mode and attempted to open the port in the netgear settings but it doesn't seem to have worked. I have tried to diagnose and solve this with internet searches but I am at a loose end. 2. I am able to watch live TV in WMC but every 4 hours I get a "Refresh Guide failed" message on my dashboard stating "connected host failed to respond 10.0.0.2:9080". I suspect that there is a problem with myLive TV settings as my ServerWMC is not located on the device at 10.0.0.2. However, I have looked in the LIVE TV settings on my WM3 dashboard and can't seem to find a way to change it. I am not very proficient with computers, I just try to educate myself online and muddle my way through. Reinstalling my MB3 server did not help. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Lof

The latest improvements are fantastic. However, when I try to watch Live tv from the Web Client or my Roku client nothing shows. I'm using wmcserver latest version. The wmc server plugin shows status good and all tuners are available. Also I'm able to bring up the Program grid but when I select a live tv show nothing shows. Could someone take a look at my logs from MB3 and serverWMC to see If mistakenly setup something up. Had it working perfectly until this latest release. NOTE: I have replace my "PC" name with a generic one. Thanks server-63550784809.txt ServerWMC.log

MBS Version: 3.0.5395.0 Android Version: 2.0.87 In the WebUI section of LIVE TV there is an option that shows Active Recordings and it allows you to select this item and begin playing it from the beginning of the recording. Is this planned for the Android client? I don't currently see it as an option.

Live TV Series can be deleted by users not allowed to manage recordings
BAS posted a topic in General/Windows
I'm on Server Version 3.0.5395.0, I have multiple users configured to browse live tv, but not manage recordings. If those users are signed in they can click recordings and scheduled and nothing comes up as expected but if they click series then can see all scheduled recorded series and remove them. -
Hello I'm using a Ceton InfiniTV 4 PCIe and a Time Warner Cable Card. Under ServerWMC I have instructed it to hide DRM and encrypted channels as I know some of my higher channels have this. I can stream one channel just fine but most of my channels give me trouble where I see the initial picture, it freezes the picture then the audio has a horrible skipping effect. I have included the ServerWMC log and the MB Server Trancode log. I was trying to stream a SD channel not HD. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I want to attempt to get this working so I can roll out to android and roku hopefully as well but if its not working in the web client I would imagine the same issues would appear elsewhere.

I have just installed a tuner card into the home theatre pc and I'm having two issues, 1.I have also installed "up coming TV" plugin. When I go into crystal plugin and click on up coming TV there is nothing showing? 2. When I go to "Live TV" in the server I get the message below ? Status: Unavailable (No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it [::1]:9080) What am I doing wrong ???? would appreciate any advise possible thanks in advance Brett

Running a silicon dust hd home run single tuner on the network. OTA coax running in. Setup WMC plugin and install... But nothing plays on live tv? Is there a frame rate or buffer I need to adjust for it to come in?

For a few weeks I have set up to record a few programs but when I go to play them there is nothing but a lot of 1 minute wtv files in the TempSWMC/savedForDebug folder. I am using Media Browser Server Version 3.0.5309.26857 (Beta), ServerWMC. on a Win7 PC. During the recording times there has not been any activity on the server (I have been out of the house) I have 3 tuners in my PC/server. It's got to the stage where I am thinking of just going back to Media Center as this has worked for me for years. But I really want to use Media Browser as it's fantastic for streaming over my home network and great for streaming music over internet when I;m away from home. I still can't stream movies remotely, probably the internet speed. Sorry I'm not sure what log files you need to help me with this.

To try and make Live TV simpler for the wife we've always sorted the guide in Media Center by channel name. This enables us to place the 'main' channels (e.g. ABC, CBS, Fox, etc.) at the top by placing a space at the start of each of these channel names. All other channels are alphabetical. This makes it easier for us to find our channels as we move often and the channel numbers are always changing. Here's an example of how it looks in Media Center: It would be great to be able to sort the Guide as well as Channels pages by channel name instead of by channel number as it simplifies finding what you're interested in as it's logically organized instead of semi-randomly via channel numbers.

Hi, I have NextPVR installed (the main program and the MB3 plugin)...I have my Hauppauge HD PVR device setup (I believe), have made channels even though I only use the component input, etc... And, I can see live TV from it through MB3 on a Google Chrome browser (both internal LAN and external WAN)...so it's partially working right. BUT, I can't see or hear anything on an iOs device I have (trying both Safari and Chrome mobile browsers) nor on my Roku 3. I've played with different decoder settings in the NextPVR interface but to no avail. Any suggestions? Anyone had success using the Hauppauge HD PVR, and either NextPVR or ServerWVC, and Live TV through either various browser interfaces or Roku client app? Thanks in advance

Hi all, First let me say thank you to the developers and everyone who have worked so hard on this application. I prefer it to a very similar program I have been using for several years, and the Live TV would absolutely make me switch and never look back. I tried to use the search functions, but wasn't able to find anything, so I apologize in advance if I missed a thread that fixes my issues. I can watch Live TV through mediabrowser on Ipads and laptops from anywhere now (which is awesome - thanks again - All Channels are OTA unencrpted, non-DRM channels, btw) However, at home, I can't get the Live TV function to work on Roku, or at least for more than about half a second. Additionally, whenever I attempt Live TV - I get one attempt, any subsequent attempt just continues to load (all the way at the end of the load bar) indefinitely. Also, whenever an attempt at Live TV fails, I am no longer able to load other Media from MB (same as TV, load bar forever, all the way at the end of the bar) until I close out of MediaBrowser channel and then reselect it. I have done my best with the Logs - never done this before so please let me know if I need to redo something. Transcode Log http://paste2.org/DDaKzzaI Server Log - I wasn't entirely sure where to begin cutting, so I hope there is not too much, or that I missed something. Either way, happy to repost. http://paste2.org/InwwvwgN Thanks again for all of your help!! Running the following: AMD Athlon (tim) II X2 240 Processor 2.80 GHz 4.00 GB Ram (3.75 usable) Windows 7 64 bit Roku 2XS

I am looking to be able to get live tv to play on my roku but it doesn't seem as though my server can handle the transcode of the live tv to allow me to be able to play any of the tv channels through my roku. However I nice way around this would be to use SiliconDusts new HDHR4 which has hardware transcoding to h.264 and direct playback on dlna devices. Does MB3 and the Roku front end support direct streaming the Live TV stream if I was to purchase one of these? I would really like live tv to work on my Roku. Thanks,

I keep getting the above error in the web client on safari, live tv works fine on my windows boxes in the house, the main difference is they are hardwired where the ipad is wireless so maybe there's something in my network causing the issue. any ideas based in this log? tv logs.txt

Hi Krusty, I don't look at the Live TV section that much so not sure how long this has been there but noticed tonight that 1 channel had no guide data. I found this in the MBS log 2014-03-13 22:30:21.6861 Error - DtoUtils: ServiceBase2014-03-13 22:30:31.2861 Error - ServerWMC: GetProgramsAsync> Input string was not in a correct format. 2014-03-13 22:30:31.2861 Error - App: Error getting programs for channel Channel 4 I should know better than to post only part of a log but thought I'd check if the above shows any clues... The guide in WMC for this channel is fine by the way. Cheers
