AI Generated Playlist Icons....the Possibilities are Endless!
denzoid posted a topic in Fan Art & Videos
Just started fooling around with Microsoft CoPilot Image Creator because I wanted some icons for my playlists (hated how the generated default square image distorted 2:3 posters). It isn't perfect but it's pretty freakin' awesome IMHO. By default it creates square icons which is exactly what I wanted anyway, not sure if you can change that. The only thing it has problems with is generating text inside of the images it creates. So if you don't want/need text it's super easy. If you want text it might take some extra time/tries. Here are my library thumbs. Edit: GDrive link to current icon set. More may be added in the future. These are all black and white. Feel free to modify with colors as you so desire. I activate a "Christmas" library during the christmas season, for obvious reasons. I just apply as "Primary" and "Thumb" and they've worked great for me. Blend in nicely with the flat icon style used elsewhere within Emby. And they're attractive across all my devices (Android, iPhone, webUI, and AndroidTV) computerprep library thumbs.zip

Hi All, I've created a thumb creater for CBR,CBZ and PDF files. Launch the program and click start then browse to the folder with your CBR,CBZ or PDFs and a new thumb for each file will be created from the cover. Such as filename-poster.jpg. When you refresh your library Ember will see these new thumbs. Its nice to have covers in Emby for Comics and PDFs! It makes magazines much nicer to browse! I take no responsibility at all if this damages your computer or deletes your files or any thing other bad! Please take a small few files and place them in a test folder first to try it out! Also the search is recursive so it will dig down to sub folders from the root! That being said let me know if anyone finds this useful or what bugs you come up against or any code suggestions! I wrote this for myself and figured I might as well share it in case anyone else finds it useful. Do what you want with the source code. It might be useful for the Emby Bookshelf plugin. Cheers! Hello, Sorry to dig this one up from the grave, as another thread indicated this issue was solved, but I'm afraid the answer given doesn't address the underlying issue. Essentially, it seems that the Roku app defaults to the primary image when browsing unset (mixed content), but uses the proportions for a thumb image. Unfortunately, as this thread below indicates, I don't think this is simply a matter of unset (mixed content) view vs. content type view. https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/55693-thumbs-as-primary-photo/ This actually seems like a bug and here's why: When using the Emby app on my TCL Roku TV, when viewing a mixed content library, the application defaults to the thumb view and there's no way to change it. This isn't ideal, as I think most folks would prefer a choice like in other libraries, but let's put that aside for a moment. I think most folks that can swallow the fact that you cannot discern the content type and thus automatic metadata population is limited or nonexistent in this view. Frankly, the only time I would use the a mixed content view is if I was providing the metadata myself (i.e. Home Videos). If I want it to automatic metadata population from some online source, I'll set the content type as appropriate. In short, it's not an issue of knowing what type of content is there. The Roku app appears to be programmatically looking for image set as the primary image. I can live with that. The issue lies in the fact that when it uses the primary image, it then constrains it to the dimensions of the thumb image, distorting the final product. It just seems to be a simple mismatch. I can prove this simply by "fixing" a few items by setting the primary image to an image with the dimensions/proportions of a thumb, such as 1280px x 720px. Though an obvious band-aid, this indeed resolves the issue on the Roku. But now, that same image is FUBAR everywhere else because it get's stretched to the dimensions of a primary image in apps such as Emby Theater or LG WebOS, which are using the proper dimensions. The fact that the LG WebOS app works properly but the Roku app does not indicates to me that this is likely just a bug. Long term it's definitely desirable to have the option in the individual apps to choose the image style (primary vs. thumb vs. banner, etc.), as has been previously hashed. Until then, it would seem the straightforward fix is to just have the Roku app either use thumb image and use the correct dimensions/proportions for a thumb OR use the primary and use the proper dimensions/proportions for a primary image. Hope this makes sense, I can follow up with images to demonstrate the issue if necessary. Server: Version 3.3.1.0 Roku TV: TCL P605, Roku Version 3.0.74 Thanks! Bill

I would love to have a setting that forces Emby to write the actor thumbs with the Internet addresses where they are located and not also use some local ones into the nfo. Some thumbs show: <thumb>D:\MediaBrowser Data\Metadata\metadata\People\.....jpg</thumb> I would like all nfos to be like: <thumb>https://image.tmdb.org/t/p/original/........jpg</thumb> It seems to happen if you refresh something from the "front-end" and then this actor seems to be locked-in to that path. Having this setting would make the nfo more portable. Thanks Mark

I'm loving emby, but.... I had a nice clean directory with just video files. Easy to view/read raw or with multiple viewers, clients and servers. Now I have a clutter of extra supporting files that fill up the directory with -thumb, -poster, .nfo files. I understand the need for them, but is there way to create a sub-directory called "emby" and have all the supporting files live there? Any help is greatly appreciated. -Akak

ET - Switch between Thumb & Poster view on TV Home screen?
Aussiedroid posted a topic in Feature Requests
Seeing the Poster (Screenshot) helps me see what episode I am up to at a glance from the home screen for any given TV Show. The new ET defaults to the Thumb view for the season (or show) which doesn't give this detail until you navigate into the next level down for the TV Show. Also not all shows have Thumb views, which results in a mixed bag of Thumbs and Poster views on the home screen which looks a little messy. I would like to see an option added to change your default preference between Thumbs and Poster views for areas on the TV home screen like latest episodes or next up episodes (perhaps an independent option for each?). This would allow me to customise it to my personal preference and get more information directly from the home screen. Many Thanks! -
ok so there are often many missing movie thumb images when we scrape our collection. When this happens i make one. Just thought i would share what i have done with everyone so if you have the same movie you can grab a thumb here for it. I was not sure what the best way was to share them here so i will just give a basic preview, (Thumbs are 500x281) Download thumb collection: https://www.mediafire.com/?xp2f889o3s2uuoy (April,26/15 - 100 Images) As i add more i will remove the download link and add a new link with the updated thumbs included. Sorry i don't want to have to list all the movies, or as i add them. It's a small file to download so just re-download it again and see whats new. The date is included when i last added the link as well as the image amount, so you will know if there has been updates. Hope this helps someone, this is just a start and more to come as i sort what i have and make new ones as needed. Peace out !
