Over the last several weeks, i have been having an issue where recorded shows will pause and hang on playback on any device, shield, roku, samsung, windows browser etc. the player will all but lockup, you can sometimes skip around and get passed the problem spot, sometimes it will completely lock up. It seems to happen in the same spot every time. It seems to only happen on shows recorded from a ABC OTA Channel, and of course only with ".ts" files. It does not seem to matter if you are trying to watch the show as its being recorded or even after the recording is complete. The playback issue will remain until TDARR processes the file into h265 and mkv, tdarr is on a hold for 3 hours until it picks up the file, however this issue was happening to this library before i told tdarr to process these shows. The issue was happening before i told tdarr or any other program to watch this folder / library. The server has been rebooted, it is a standalone machine that does not sleep etc. It also does not matter how i try to connect to the server, fqdn, ip address, through pfsense with haproxy or cloudflare. Other items work just fine. The hardware is a Dell R720xd dual socket server with 2x xeon cpu's 12 cores, 24 threads, 224gb ram, nvidia 1050Ti (driver unlocked), connected to the network with 2x 10Gb teamed nic to a 10Gb core switch, then gigabit to all other clients, most are wired. It runs Windows Server 2019 and acts as a hypervisor, it is up to date. emby runs mostly as a service using nssm, but the problem remains running as a service or not. The storage is running Raid 5, the storage backing this library is across 12x SAS 6gb 2TB drives, OS runs on a separate raid array across other SAS 15k drives. The server connects to 2x HD Homerun Duos. Host OS: Windows Server 2019 Emby Server version: 4.7.8.0 NVIDIA Driver: Studio Driver Version 472.84 (unlocked) This setup has been like this for several years and has worked just fine until this point. I am attaching the logs for the transcode and emby server, i tried some with debug on and off, and the 2 shows i was working with was: Station 19 S06E03 Dancing With Our Hands Tied.ts and Grey's Anatomy S19E03 Let's Talk About Sex.ts, which were also recorded last night. I kept a copy of the Grey's Anatomy ts file before tdarr caught it. that being said, i can open the files and play in vlc just fine. I can find no errors in the windows event logs etc. My testing was done between 1900 - 2200 hrs. ffmpeg-transcode-46702ba4-1edb-4b76-bc55-fe3be8c11786_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-bdefe812-f6e3-4787-8311-bd59ca718bf8_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-2f7e0dba-f17a-47bf-9b07-fdce9ded728c_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-62406fac-47d3-44d4-b4e2-3b467a8e1361_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-f11fd675-d740-4441-8b9e-764979ca7482_1.txt embyserver (2).txt

Would we be able to add onto the statuses in Emby? I would like to see the ability to have airing, returning, cancelled, and ended.

Hey all, sorry if this has already been asked i have had a look but couldnt see anything. i would like to know if it would be possible to show the thumbnails pictures from said episode that is up next on the home page / Up next column instead of just the tv show main thumb photo. i.e if the series you are watching is S02E09 it would show the Thumb photo from that pacific episode instead of the main thumb photo. thanks and hopefully i have explained that well enough haha . i look forward to your replies

Samsung Model: UN48H8000 Samsung Firmware Version: 1400 Samsung Emby Client version: 0.122 Hello, At or around the time Emby Server updated to 4.2.2.0, episode listings disappeared when using Emby via Samsung TV. It continues to work properly when using Emby via Chrome browser. I am fairly confident that folder structure and episode naming are correct as prior to the update mentioned it was working without issues on all devices. I initiate the Emby app on the Samsung TV. I then select "TV Shows" and get the listing of shows, as expected and as intended. I select a show and am brought to the screen with the show summary, the "Up Next" list, and the individual season "icons", again as usual and as expected. I then select a season, and am presented with a screen that only shows the show image/icon in the top left and options for "Play All" and "Shuffle". Below that the rest of the screen is blank. This blank portion of the screen is where I would normally see the episodes listed. I have tried several things, none of which has made any diffrerence: - I have deleted entire shows and re-uploaded them using same and different folder structures - I have run the full-scan of the library - I have deleted and re-installed the Emby app on the Samsung TV - I have shut down Emby and re-started the NAS, then re-started Emby Please let me know if you require additional information or if you have any questions. Thank you

Hello Everyone, i would like to ask plugins devs the following question: There is an existing KODI addon for TV time available here: https://github.com/alxlaxv/script.tvtime/releases Are Kodi addons and Emby plugins more or less similar or are they totally different ? Would it be easy to develop a plugin for Emby taking kodi Addon as an example or do we need to start something totally new from scratch ? I don't know anything about plugin creation, is it easy to learn ? Do you know how much time did it take to create Trakt.tv plugin ? Thanks in advance ! Regards

Hi relatively new to Emby coming over from Plex. Thank you for a great usable product that just works. So I'm not sure this is a new feature request or more a just trying to understand how listing shows works. So first, I am using Emby as a DVR on Unraid and currently using the 3.6.0.76 Beta version. What I am looking for is when I select shows by clicking Guide then Programs and then Shows, that it then just lists on one thumbnail of a show that are upcoming for the next two weeks (or whatever guide data time you have). I have played with the filters and I think what I should see with filtered by name and Primary thumbnail is just one thumbnail of a show. What I currently see is every show with name listed for the two weeks. This makes for a very long list of every same named show across multiple channels if in reruns that fills a couple of page of just one show. The issue is there are too many of the same show listed and currently is only listing special characters and numbers. The list is so big it does not even list any of the alpha letters in the list A-Z shows What makes sense is one one thumbnail of the show and then you click into the show to select channels or individual showing of that one show or another filter view that gives you that choice. I have included a screen shot to show what I'm talking about. In the picture below there should only be one /Drive, one 1st Look and one 2 Broke Girls etc.

Rename 'MOVIES' menu option to "A-Z" and 'Shows' under TV to "A-Z" to make it more obvious that what the option is!!! An A-Z picker. Also the Roku way to show the A-Z picker is visually nicer, maybe an option to show horizontal preview per letter or current all letters on scrolling page.

Hey, I have recently organized my film-related files in on my external file system into genre categories and wish to do the same with television shows. Is this possible, as I can't find any material on how to accomplish this. Any help will be great. Thanks.

Hi, this is a new metadata provider plugin for Emby, supporting TV Series, Seasons and Episodes as well as Season-Images. The data is retrieved from http://www.tvmaze.com/ The plugin should operate pretty stable, I've been running the code for a few months now without problems. But what's the benefit, now? Well, you got to make your own decision about how useful that additional data could be for you! Metadata handling in Emby is not a very transparent process. To compare the different metadata retrieved by the installed providers, it's probably best to use the Metadata Viewer Plugin (http://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/32984-new-plugin-metadata-viewer/). After installing, you need to check your metadata settings for Series, Seasons and Episodes. You should choose the priorities based on your experience from comparing metadata results as described in the previous paragraph. If you're already satisfied with your current metadata retrieval or just don't want to make a significant change at this time, I recommend the following: Disable TV Maze for Series and Episodes (Emby already comes with 3 built-in providers for those) But enable TV Maze for Seasons (and Season images): The reason: Currently, there's only one provider for Season data and there are many cases where TV Maze has some season descriptions when the other (MovieDb) doesn't Download: https://github.com/softworkz/Emby.Plugins/releases/tag/TvMazeBeta1

Hi, New here, so please bear with me. I couldn't figure out which is the right forum to post in. I don't know what the difference between MB Theatre and MB Classic is; which one(s) I have or don't. I installed MB Server on Windows 7 and I point my browser at that to watch media, usually from Windows machines. How does a person get the list of episodes available for a TV Show when looking at the show's page? With a navigation path of "Home > TV > Shows > {click show}" I see a backdrop picture, some buttons to vote up/down and favourite the show, and 3 buttons beneath that for [play] [sync] [:]. Pushing [play] allows me to "play" of "shuffle", but doesn't give a chance to select _what_ to play, it just starts playing an episode. I expected a list to play from. Scroll down the page and there's a list of cast and crew, links to imdb etc. sites and a list of "if you like this you might also like...". All of which can be interesting, but is not important when all one wants to do is watch! ;-) There's a couple of older forum threads asking a similar question, but I don't see how to adapt the answers there to what I see. Here's the closes matching thread, http://mediabrowser.tv/community/index.php?/topic/3943-mbc-request-tv-series-episode-list-view-in-season/, from which the pertinent line seems to be "I think all themes at least have a "List" view. It may also be called "Details".", but I don't see any item like that to click on. Please, what am I missing? I've been at this for an hour now. Thanks.

There's four of us in the house - and different groupings of us watch different shows together. (note: we use MBC) So, for example * my son and I like to watch a bunch of shows together * my son, daughter and I like to watch a different bunch together * all four of us watch a few other shows together * etc I'm not overly concerned about getting watched status for everyone recorded correctly - as long as the major user (usually me) is up to date then that's fine. What I am interested in though is some way to filter shows by the group that has sat down to watch a few shows together. This would make it much easier to select what to watch next. Can anyone suggest any methods to do this? I can think of two - but neither is ideal: * Split the shows into physical folders - one for each grouping of people who watch those shows (e.g A+B, A+B+C, A+B+C+D, B+C, etc) * Assign dummy genres to each show and then index by genre It would be really useful if there was a built-in method of defining who is interested in each show, and then when a number of us sit down to watch some TV, we could just tell MB who was present, and the shows could be filtered automatically. Does anyone else's family watch shows like this? Would anyone find this type of filtering useful?
