  1. I'd like to report something really weird that I noticed today. I'm at latest release (don't know at which version it started, it may be a little old), and when I try to browser TV shows and then "Genres", it only shows me TV shows that have DRAMA tag, and hide everything else. too weird. Can you reproduce it? ps: working OK for movies.
  2. When entering TV library, and selecting the genres view I'm greeted with a nice genre selection screen, perfect. Then I pick a genre, like comedy, instead of it being series only, I usually get 1 or 2 series, but then a ton of episodes, I hit the 1000 item limit of course. So I'm pretty sure this is a bug and the only results returned in this view should be series entries.
  3. Hi. I've just noticed something odd. Within any TV Show library, when I click "Shows" (to see the entire list), that library's list comes. OK! BUT Still inside the same library, if I choose the tabs GENRES or NETWORKS, it starts showing ALL shows... not only of that library. In my scenario, I have 2 libraries: TOONS and GENERAL , for example. Library GENERAL -> Tab SHOWS -> List of all General shows. CORRECT. Library GENERAL -> Tab GENRES -> List of EVERY SHOW by GENRES. INCORRECT Library GENERAL -> Tab NETWORKS -> List of EVERY SHOW by NETWORKS. INCORRECT Library TOONS -> Tab SHOWS -> List of all Toons shows. CORRECT Library TOONS -> Tab GENRES -> List of EVERY SHOW by GENRES. INCORRECT Library TOONS-> Tab NETWORKS -> List of EVERY SHOW by NETWORKS. INCORRECT Can you take a look at it? Thanks

    Problem with Genres

Hi, I noticed the other day that not all movies of a specific genre are shown in MB Theater. If I do a filtered view in the server, I find 145 movies with this genre. If I look in MB for WMC, I also find 145 movies. If I do the same thing in MBT, I find 109. (I use folder view, but I go to Movies- All movies - Genres - My specific genre - More.) The movies that seem to be missing are all the ones of this genre from a specific folder called Collections (I do my collections manually). I'm running MBT 2.5.25 and the latest server (8200). I know it's been doing this for several weeks, but can't say when it started. Anyone know how to fix this? It's probably a setting somewhere that I haven't found concerning Collections.
  5. Hi, Since upgrading to 3.0.7100.0 the genres, studios and tags buttons do not work when editing or in the metadata editor. Clicking on them has no effect. I am using Firefox 48.0.2, but it is the same with Safari. I have tried it on my other computer before updating to 3.0.7100.0 the buttons are green and work fine, after updated to 3.0.7100.0 and they are grey in colour and do not do anything when you click on them, People button works OK but is also grey. Is this a known problem or is it something my end. Any help would be great, Thanks, for such a great bit of software.

    WebClient - Genres Hiding

Editing and adjusting my Libraries... I noticed that nowadays several stuff are considered genres. But I guess not everybody likes it that way, and so I suggest two features about genres: - Allow that a genre be HIDDEN from listings Who wants it? -> People that don't agree with some existing tagging that was done at source. My example: "Cinema TV" and "Animation". For me, first one just doesn't make sense, and I have a library separated for the other, so no use, just more screen space for nothing. How? -> Maintain a simple XML listing with status of each genre (Visibility), configurable by Admin in server manager. - Toggle between multi-genre and main-genre mode Who wants it? -> People that doesn't agree with how it is done today (several movies appears at several genres...), and want that each movie/show have only 1 genre considered in listings. How? -> In already existing XML/NFO of item, put a 'Main' mark on the genre chosen by the admin (always 1 , no more, no less). Make a way so admin can toggle users experience between "Multi-Genres View", like today, or "Main-Genre View".

genres: how to display list of movies?

Hello, On my windows phone app, if I go to movies -> genres and select a genre, I only have 2 tabs: "recent" and "random items". It seems impossible to get a list of movies with a certain kind of genre. Do I something wrong? Is this a bug? Kind regards, Bart Nokia 735, WIndows Phone 8.1 update 2 Emby app 8.0.67.3

    FR-ET Jump List for Genres

Hey, I think it would be really handy to be able to jump though genres the same as the alphabetical list. Example below. (I noticed taking this screenshot that the focus item covers the title too).
  9. I've had this annoying problem for a while now but have basically been able to ignore it as I haven't had the time to dedicate to this. Scenario is this, I browse my movies by genres, so I have nice folder.png's and backdrops in every genre folder. So when I view it on my tv, I get an image for each genre folder like drama, action, animation etc. I've noticed now however instead of having one image for each genre, some of my genre's are doubling up. In the image below you can see that my drama and family genre's (highlighted in blue)now have two images with the exact number of movies in each and the exact same image. Not too sure what's causing this issue as I've checked all my metadata for my movies and they are all correct. This is occurring in mediabrowser client as well. Any help would be much appreciated.
  10. Running into an interesting problem: I want to change the images used for genres (using stills from movies that I actually own, instead of the generic art [because Eddie Murphy and a bad Dr. Seuss movie, ugh, but I digress]... I updated the images in the AppData\Roaming\MediaBrowser-Server\metadata\Genre folders, copied the images (just to be sure) to the AppData\Roaming\MediaBrowser-Server\ImagesByName\Genre folders (even going as far as adding a copy of "poster.jpg" and naming it "folder.jpg"), but to no avail. The Web Client displays the added/changed images as expected, but the Classic interface in WMC stubbornly refuses to display the new images. I updated the Metadata through the web client, restarted the server (several times), re-scanned the library (several times), updated the library from within the WMC Classic interface... but I'm still not seeing the right images in WMC (see screenshot below, WMC/Classic in front of the web client view). The Mediabrowser-Classic folder contains no data, except for two config files in the Configurations subfolder. I could not find any other location to place the files. Using Emby Classic version 3.0.258.0 and Emby Server version 3.0.5572.0, Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 Media Center. So, what's the trick to get this to work in Emby Classic? (And just to head off the obvious question: WMC/Emby Classic shows the exact same thing on the actual TV screen as it does in the RDP view, natch.)

    Adult Genres

I have been a user of - and a fan of - MB for a long time (since 2.1.3) and recently upgraded to MB3. As a first contribution, I noticed that there is no adult genre art. Using the thumb and folder templates, I've created a bunch and wanted to share. I have 20 genres created (40 images total with thumb and folder/primary, example attached) but the collection is too big to attach to this post (21.1MB combined). I'd rather not host them in my Dropbox but I am happy to share anyone who wants them. Any suggestions for getting them up for everyone to just download on their own? -Teddy EDIT: 22MB ZIP of adult genre art. *png only*

    MB Classic Questions

Wondering if someone can help please? I use MB Classic with the diamond theme and love it. However I have two niggling issues that's driving me batty. 1. I've added the trailers plug in, and before I went and played around with the web client to get images to show up for my boxsets and trailers menu, my main menu was showing three categories that I had setup, Movies, Boxsets and Trailers. Now however, my Trailers selection menu has changed to displaying Channels and when I click into Channels, it then goes into my Trailers menu, which I don't like. But I don't know how to revert it back to what it was originally, just to show my three main categories again. When I open up media centre and go in MB Classic, I want to see Movies, Boxsets and Trailers. 2. I filter my movies in Genre view and within that view I have nice local coverart for all my genres I have set up, like Animation, Action, Family, Drama and so on. I don't know when this happened but lately when I go into my movies all my genres except two are showing up as they should. For the Family and Drama genre however, I now have two folders of Family and Drama and when I select into the folders, they display the exact same movies in each folder. That is one Family folder has 200 movies and the other Family folder has 200 movies which is identical to each other. This is the same for the Drama folder as well. All the other genres are displaying correctly however, there is only one instance of each genre folder. I hope the above is clear and ANY help would be much appreciated.

    GameBrowser GameGenre Icon support

Does MBC currently look at the ImagesByName\GameGenre directory for the gamebrowser genre icons? It seems to be fetching the icons from ImagesByName\Genre.
  14. Greetings, So, I have a folder that houses my documentries and other non-fiction content. They are all in the same folder, it is a Mixed movies & tv folder as there are both movies and TV content in there. Now, none of these films or TV are shows are shown under the Genre views, either for Movies or Television, in the Web Viewer. Would I be correct in saying that the reason for this is due to the Folder Type being used? If so, is there a solution other than putting the content into 2 seperate folders, one for TV Shows and one for Movies, in order for the content to be listed under 'Documentary', in Genres, for example? By the way, I don't believe it an XML related issue. I double checked a number of the xml files, the Documentary genre is listed in the meta data. Cheers, Andy
  15. Hello Originally made by Starkadius http://community.mediabrowser.tv/permalinks/14346/separate-tvgenre-folder-under-ibn As requested, I have created this topic to gauge the demand for such a feature. For the longest time I have been using different genre names for my TV shows, for example for Action I use “TV Action”, Comedy I use “TV Comedy” etc. The reason for this is that I do not like to use the same Movie genre icons for the TV genres. As it is I keep two separate sets of genres for both movies and tv shows. This would put it more in line with how games and music have their own genre folders now; MusicGenre and GameGenre. A MovieGenre or TVGenre folder would work either way. If TV had its own TVGenre folder then we could simply assign “Action” for its genre instead of “TV Action” or “ActionTV” and it would use the new icon. ps. For anyone interested in using these icons go here. This is from Starkadius Thank you very much in advance

    Genres Not Showing Up

I've recently upgraded from MB2 to MB3 and absolutely LOVE the direction and progress. Obviously, this being a beta I am running into an issue with Genres for all my videos. The genres used to work nicely in MB2 but now only a couple genres show up (which makes Genre Cleaner pretty much useless). I had (in MB2) saved the meta data to a videos directory via XML (MB2 default?) but now only genres details stored in a videos meta data (in the actual video file and NOT in the XML meta file) is displayed. So, while I have TONS of meta data available to videos none of it is used anymore. Is there a way to get the locally stored XML meta data files to be used for genres? Thanks, Eric

    Genre Cleaner

This is a plug-in that will allow you to define exactly what genres should appear in your metadata. You can define which ones are allowed and which ones are mapped (or turned into) one of the allowed ones. So, if you have genres like "Country" "Alternative Country" and "General Country" and you just wanted them all to be "Country" you can make that happen. Anything not defined as allowed or mapped to an allowed one is discarded from your metadata. The workflow for configuration is as follows: First decide for which type you wish to define genres: You then get a fresh configuration page. You can use the "Initialize with all current genres" button to get started which will fill in all of the genres that currently appear in your collection as allowed: Once you have that list, you then can either enter entirely new genres you'd like to allow, delete genres from the allowed list (which will discard/ignore this genre) or hit the "Map to..." button and map that genre to one of the other allowed genres. (The genres in parens are mapped to that allowed genre) This plug-in is free for MB3 Supporters.
