Can it be made so that tags that are listed in a user's profile as "Restrict Items With Tags" are themselves hidden as well. Currently it does hide the content that is restricted, but if I log on as a user who can't see that content and then go to movies -> tags, then I can see the hidden tag listed and it even shows a preview of the items tagged. So while users can't play any blocked content they do get a glimpse of what is being blocked or even THAT something is being blocked, which isn't desirable. I'd like to have that tag be completely invisible to the user it's being applied to.

I believe that a lot of people like to put all the files witch related to TV shows in the same folder. Such as trailers or behind-the-scenes (about how to make the TV shows) documentary clips related to TV shows. Instead of just putting the TV show files into folders, this mode of storage could help to manage all the files related to the TV show. But I didn't want other files to be scanned into the media library as well, which would be a devastating blow to the visuals of the main page. So, can we just simply make a feature that excludes scanning of files in some specific folder path, or hide files in some specific folder from being scanned into the library? Just like the “TinyMediaManager” do while scanning the media library file. Thank you!!!

Why It's troublesome to manage bottom up permissions (User -> Access -> Folder) and personally I think that a top down (User <- Access <- Folder) approach would be better (or both). I understand that changing access permission structure might be troublesome (or not desired by everyone) so I'd like to suggest something else instead Feature I think it would be a good idea to have a setting in the "Libraries" that allows you to make a folder hidden by default. That way when you add a new user you don't have to worry to much about them having access to all the folders and it improves user management. It's a good solution for servers that have a lot of users to manage. This isn't a must have but more of "Quality of life" feature. How These changes would have to be implemented: 1. Add the setting to the Libraries under "Advanced options" -> "Library Settings" 2. Disable "Enable access to all libraries" setting in the user access settings if any of the libraries (for that user) are hidden, and enable all but the hidden library. OR alternatively... disable "Enable access to all libraries" (so that the list of libraries shows up) for all users if any folders are hidden, then the hidden folder should not be enabled on the access list.

Hiding menu items "Collections" and "Folders" in movie section
Gert-Jan Albers posted a topic in Synology
Is there a way I can hide the menu items "Collections" and "Folders" within the movie section (see screen below)? In the WEB APP I can use the custom CSS function: button.emby-tab-button:nth-child(4) { display:none; } button.emby-tab-button:nth-child(7) { display:none; } but this doesn't have effect in iOS and Apple TV apps. Is there a setting I have missed or can this be done in an other way? Why I like to hide these items? I don't use collections at all because they still can't be backed up so I need to reproduce them every time I set up a fresh Emby server. Anybody?- 1 reply

So it would be nice if we could choose to hide libraries from the top instead of being forced to see it. See like in my case I would like to have movie collections and playlist but without them appearing on the top in libraries. And I was thinking that it would be a nice feature to be able to hide them if preferred because you can already access them from other areas. For examples for playlist you can just go under the music library and tap on playlist, or the collections is under movies. I'm not saying to completely remove them but to give the option to hide them. That would be a feature I would like to see in Emby

Hi All I am trying to move my media from Plex to Emby But I am struggling to find the "hide" this from everything else? Starting with the dashboard, how do I exclude a media folder from the dashboard? And is there anyway to also exclude the folder to associate from "More like this" ? The above setting actually does both in Plex, never have to worry about in appropriate being listed unless you go to that specific genre be it Erotic og ZombieSpashgoremovies... I have read some post about this but havent found any solutions? Again thanks for your help really trying to get this working

After using Emby for a while I'm so happy with it that I decided to publish it to the Internet so I can listen to my music when I'm away, without needing to VPN home. I'm publishing Emby behind a Squid reverse proxy, using SSL termination. Meaning: Internet Client -----HTTPS SSL connection-----> | Squid reverse-proxy -----PLAIN HTTP-----> Emby | INTERNET | LAN Now I have a couple of questions/features requests regarding publishing Emby to the "evil" Internet: Is there any known issue/concern that I should be aware off that is not too relevant while Emby is only visible in the LAN but that can be dangerous if Emby is visible from the Internet? I'm worried about brute force attacks. Is it possible to enable a captcha on the login screen so for example after 3 failed logins the user will need to validate the captcha to try to login again? About the login screen: would it be posible to have a configuration parameter in Emby to "harden" the login form like for example disabling autocomplete on the username field? Is it possible to enable a configuration parameter to hide all users from the login screen, server wide, instead of doing it on user basis only? How does the "in-network sign-in" with the easy pin code works? How does Emby know that the user is logging in from the LAN or from the Internet? What happen if the user is in the Internet but Emby is behind a reverse-proxy in the LAN (all requests comes from the LAN IP of the proxy)? Would Emby check the X-Forwarded-For HTTP header if the reverse-proxy provides it? I know these are a lot of questions and some things may not be even implemented right now, but if they are not, maybe they can be a good idea to implement in the near future since they can help us to protect our server for the "evil" Internet. Cheers

Happy New Year everyone! I did a search of the forums but couldn't find an answer. A small thing, but whenever I check out the actors for a movie or TV show, there are a few that do not have any images. If none exist, is there a way to hide these in the Emby interface? Alternatively, if this is may not an option, is it possible to change the default 'green' image with something else? Many Thanks, AD

Hi everyone, Just curious if anyone knows of a plugin or a way to hide certain folders at the home screen. I like / need the folders view. If there's a way to drop a user into that on home screen that would be ideal. And then if there was a way to hide the collections group then I'd have the setup I'm after. I have a folder with a whole bunch of kids shows and viewing it in folder mode things look beautiful. Unfortunately when the kids login to emby they get to the home screen and don't realize they should click the folders button. They just click on the kids shows media folder and then it just looks like an unorganized mess and they don't want to use it. If there was a way I could setup a macro or something so that when my kid's user ID logs in it takes them to the folders view immediately that's what I'm after. If anyone can think of way to accomplish something like that I'd love to hear your ideas.

I have a need to review the metadata, images, parental ratings... of all new media that comes new in my server, before other users (or even me) see them in TV, DLNA, Android App, etc... I have 2 ideas, please let me know if any of those are possible: Idea 1 - Create a library flag called "Hidden", where the media inserted in that library won't appear anywhere BUT the Metadata Manager, and inside there would be a button called "Publish" that simply moves the entire media folder to inside another Library. Pros: All new media that just gets downloaded or copied in that folder/library will automatically fall in a backlog visible to the Emby server admin to review or play the media, before it gets seen everywhere. Cons: One more folder/library to manage Idea 2 - Create a Library flag called "Manual Validation", where if OFF, media in there would automatically be published (as of today), and if ON, new media would have to manually flagged as "Visible" on the devices. Pros: No need for specific folder or library. Cons: Forgetting to manual validate would make new items take more time to be published.... in case the admin gets sloppy. What do you guys think?

Editing and adjusting my Libraries... I noticed that nowadays several stuff are considered genres. But I guess not everybody likes it that way, and so I suggest two features about genres: - Allow that a genre be HIDDEN from listings Who wants it? -> People that don't agree with some existing tagging that was done at source. My example: "Cinema TV" and "Animation". For me, first one just doesn't make sense, and I have a library separated for the other, so no use, just more screen space for nothing. How? -> Maintain a simple XML listing with status of each genre (Visibility), configurable by Admin in server manager. - Toggle between multi-genre and main-genre mode Who wants it? -> People that doesn't agree with how it is done today (several movies appears at several genres...), and want that each movie/show have only 1 genre considered in listings. How? -> In already existing XML/NFO of item, put a 'Main' mark on the genre chosen by the admin (always 1 , no more, no less). Make a way so admin can toggle users experience between "Multi-Genres View", like today, or "Main-Genre View".

good day all. wondering if there's a way to eliminate (hide) the "On Now" & "Latest Recordings" sections on the Apps Home Screen for the Nexus Player? I personally use Live Channels for my TV watching and then anything i do record, i have that all auto organized into my unraid box with my other recorded tv stuff. once the auto organize is completed, all of my recordings are then captured/shown in the "Next Up TV" section and therefore typically nothing is in this "Latest Recordings" section. thoughts? thanks much, sd

hide generated *-poster.jpg on picture libraries?
plessers@gmail.com posted a topic in General/Windows
Hello, Is it possible to prevent Emby from displaying self-generated thumbs of my movies in my picture library? I have pictures and movies from my digital camera in the same folder. Created picture library, and both content types are displayed Emby generates a preview of the movies: *-poster.jpg However, on the app, the preview is displayed on the movie, and the poster is displayed also as a picture, wich makes that every movie is displayed double: Is there a way to avoid this behavior? To hide the generated poster.jpg? kind regards, B- 7 replies

While trying version 590 I noticed that if you login with a user and save its password so the next time you open the app it will automatically login to that user and afterwards you hide the same user from the login screen the automatic login will not happen. Is this the expected behavior? Repro steps: Login with a visible user and remember its password Exit the app Lauch the app again and it will automatically login with the saved username and password. <-- Correct Exit the app again. From Emby server configuration, hide the user that you used for login to the Samsung app from the login screen and save the configuration. Launch the app again and this time automatic login will not work and you will be presented with the list of users that remain visible and the manual login option. <-- Incorrect? I would expect that once you login with a user and remember its password, hidden or visible you should be able to relogin with that user in the app again automatically. Also by making the user visible again, auto login will start working again without touching anything in the app. Thanks

I've been having this issue for quite some time, but I've pretty much just been dealing with it until now. For whatever reason, having my taskbar set to auto-hide causes issues with MBT where the taskbar becomes visible while MBT is maximized. Not the whole taskbar, just the thin strip that you can see from your desktop when it's set to auto-hide. I can be browsing MBT just fine, with no visible taskbar strip, and it normally pops up as soon as I hit play on a title, but I believe it also happens from time to time while browsing through my collections. The only way I can get the taskbar to disappear once this happens is to switch MBT to windowed mode, and then maximize it again; you could see how this would get annoying. Especially since it happens about 95% of the time I click "play" to start watching something. This will also randomly happen while in the middle of watching something, though less frequently than while initially hitting play. The other issue I'd just like to lump in here, since I think it may be partially related, is that; sometimes when coming out of the MBT screensaver (by pressing a remote button, usually one of the nav buttons), Emby theater loses focus (ie. I can't control it, until I get my mouse and click somewhere on the screen), which is also a major annoyance, since it obviously takes you out of the experience of seamlessly playing media from an HTPC via remote control. Of course, I could solve at least the first issue (possibly the second, I'm not sure though) by simply not setting my taskbar to auto-hide; but the taskbar ruins the look of my rainmeter skin, so I'd like to not have to do that. I've noticed some old posts on here with similar issues, I just thought I'd bring it up again, and list my particular issues, in hopes someone might have a fix to it. Thanks, Patrick

It's been asked a lot; can you hide specific media from a users library access? Also, at time of writing this, if you remove a portion of your library from a users access list, 18/Restricted movies for instance, the user may still be able to access that media via Collections (if a movie is part of a collection, and a user doesn't have access to that movie, that can still get to it via the Collection). This guide will show you how to manually hide a collection (or other media) from a specific user via metadata tags and the parental control system built into MediaBrowser 3. 1) Find the collection (or other media) that you want to hide in the web interface. In the picture above, I'm going to hide the Karas collection. Hovering over the collection image, choose to edit the collection. This will take you to the Metadata Manager page. 2) Scrolling down, you can add a tag that you want to use. I've simply used "Nobox" in the image, but it can be anything you want that isn't already being used; so don't use genres unless you want to hide all of a genre from a user. To add the tag, type in your chosen tag, hit the + symbol on the right, and then hit the save button at the bottom or top of the page. Using the same tag, repeat this process for any and all media you want to hide from the user. 3) Now go into your dashboard and hit the Users option from the menu on the left. Pick the user you want to hide the media for and go to the Parental Control tab. 4) Scroll down to the "Block items with tags" option and add the tag you chose earlier. Again, in the picture above that is Nobox. Again, don't forget to hit the save button. 5) Run a library scan from the library page.

How to make big pause icon and artwork disappear?
turntablejunky posted a topic in Windows Media Center
Hi everyone, First of all, forgive me, if I'm reposting something that was already addressed. I could not find it myself. Second of all, I must say; I do love the new Media Browser - it really does kick ass! Now, onto a little bit of nuisance imo. Whenever I pause a video, I get this big ugly pause icon in the middle of my screen. Not only that. I also get to see the cover art, as well as the title of the movie. As if I didn't know what I was watching. LOL. My question is, and if at all possible. Can I get this pause icon in a smaller format? Can I remove the cover art? I don't mind the title bar though. My version of MB. Would appreciate any help in getting this resolved. Thank you, Andrej- 15 replies

Is there anyway to hide these non-game folders?
