The app looks great. At first attempt, however, I'm having an issue with AC3 5.1 audio when chromecasting a TV show. It works fine when played through my 2 channel TV speakers, but I seem to lose the dialog (center channel?) when listening though my stereo. The only thing that changed since it worked earlier this evening was the upgrade to the new android client.

Is this a known issue, or can I provide more details to help debug?

Thanks!

You can file this in the server area. You should see the same behavior from the web client if this is true. CC playback is controlled by the app hosted on the receiver, not the android app.

I can't get it to direct play :(. I have a low powererd ARM server all my files are x264 and 2 ch AAC. I tried with HLS or without and there is always a transcode going on so I cannot listen to any movies.. Only if I use an external player everything is fine.. except that I loose seek position.

Any ideas on how I could enable direct play with the android client if the codecs are supported ? Thanks

is the h264 profile baseline?

Thanks for the prompt reply, Luke. I figured it was a related to the android app as my Chromecast version only started showing up as 2.0.000 on the web client dashboard (as opposed to 1.0.7 i think) when I upgraded the android app on my tablet. I haven't been able to confirm that the behavior is the same when casting from the web client, but will try to replicate that tomorrow.

One problem I am having with the new release is with subtitles

I get subtitles even if none is selected when streaming to my Samsung TV

What are your subtitle preferences set to in the server?

The new version still doesn't like my Nexus 5. It's still locking up regularly (often more than once per minute), although unlike the old version it seems to recover after I get prompted to kill it. I've only managed to get a movie and TV show started a few times since it takes upwards of 10s to load the page for movies and TV shows and another 10s before the server starts transcoding. Music doesn't play at all because the server never starts transcoding, and the player just stops responding. I'll have to get some logs of course otherwise this is all just waffle.

If a user profile is hidden from login screens, when selecting that user manually, the login fails. Happens whether password protected or not. Unhide user in server, and the user can then be accessed in new android client. Please restore the ability to manually login to hidden user profiles.

Something is definitely going on with seeking/resume. We're looking into it. I don't believe it's android specific.

Yeah, Was working initially for me, But has stopped working now for some reason

One more thing, Still no saving of default short order?

In portrait it looks pushed off screen.

Also, nice effect with the lock screen. :)

Just an observation... I don't know if having the user logout right above the home button is great idea for a touch screen mobile device especially with no confirmation dialog

I can increase the space between the user image and home image, but I don't think it's that bad as is.

Hi Redshirt.

I've got a problem since updating the app.

The app freezes at the "Select a Media Browser Server" page immediately after launching.

Does it actually freeze, or is it just not doing anything. Looking at the PM'd log it appears to survive the errors and carry on. If you click the icon beside the text you should be able to add your connection info.

Hey Red,

Just updated my sg3 and it looks great. seems to function quite well and at the moment plays my MKVs beautifully with HLS on. Very happy.

One question, when trying ti use play to, if I load MB Android before I start the target app - say MBT on my laptop, MBA does not see it as a play to device. There appears to be no way to refresh the available play to devices other than completely shutting MBA down - removing it from the phones list of "in use" apps and then re-starting the app. Any way of getting MBA to keep polling the server for new devices - seeing as the server picks up new connections pretty much instantly, as they become available or to do a manual refresh?

LOL, don't I feel like an idiot!

That's fixed it. I was tapping on the text, not the icon next to the text.

Thanks

Lol, it's still a valid point. That should look more like a button.

Redshirt,

Nice to see DELETE functionality in Android app now. It will be quite useful when watching Recorded TV that can be deleted after viewing. However, the non-descriptive X on the screen may be confusing. Are you closing the screen or deleting a file?  A prompt that asks if you are sure you want to DELETE the file would be useful. Found that out the hard way while testing it out.  :)

Great job.
