So now when I logged on via my PC to get a good screenshot (still remotely connected) i can see A LOT more addons in the catalog, including the Top Picks. 

I had no clue there was a difference between the phone or a PC in this way.. I mean, ist still on the same server. 

So maybe this is something to look into.

Ya, I mentioned this as a potential cause above.

The Emby team can't risk putting code they haven't seen and specifically vetted into the app stores, so most 3rd party plugins are disabled in those clients.

I added a few movies and a TV show to the top picks, but no matter what I do, the TV show will not show up. I've checked to ensure it's not marked as watched, and that watched content isn't removed from the home page. Any suggestion on what else I can check? Thank you.

Is it just the one series, or all of them?

Something strange is happening with the tags and the media strm file on my system. It starts out ok, this is bullet train. As you can see it has the tags "top-pic" "top-pic 3" and no media meta just some subs.

If I play that media for a short while it looses the tags and gains media meta.

Not to sure whats going on there.

Edit: A update Top Picks will bring it back to normal (tags are back/no media meta). I create my own list and don't use the "User Engagement" side of things so I don't usually refresh until I change something.

When I added the stream data (media info) to the NFO file for a top picks, it started acting strangely.

So I left those values out.

After you play the item, media info is probably going to be added to the NFO.

Weird that the tags disappear.

I'll look into this further today.

Would it be possible to clear browsing data and refresh the page. 

Do you have a top pick list saved, or is it currently empty?

Hi @chef, I think your shuffle in the list using the arrow (up/down) is a bit broken. It used to work ok (maybe before the TV update).

Now if I shuffle movies around using the arrows it totally stuffs up the order of "Top Picks" both with the home widget and lib.

Hello again!

I can't get the top picks to populate... 

Some background:
My library is built up using ".strm" files. I get this from my iptv provider and by running a script it scans a m3u file and create these streaming files into one movie folder and one tvshow folder. Emby then scan these directories and my library is populated with metadata of all the content.  

Before watching a movie/show emby only picks up thats it is a stream, and nothing more. After playing the movie for just a second and the cancel, all the media info is available. See below picture.

 

The issue:

So, the problem is that the Top Picks addon do not  populate a list. I have no idéa if it has to do with the above information, but thats my best guess.

I am aware that the Media Info is not populated in the the library, until after the item is played. 

At the moment there isn't much I can do regarding this. 

 

Would it be possible to see an entire log from when you attempted to run the "UserEngagement" task?i

 

It looks like the engagement task hasn't been able to find any items that match the criteria. This can happen.

perhaps turning off "favor recently added items", and "favor new releases".

 

I will take a look at the code, and try to populate a list if the engagement task isn't able to find items in the library at first so the list gets populated with something.

The media info issue is on all my files/media (not related to Top Picks), since i'm using .strm files for my media. I just thought i might had something to do with my issue. Dont know.. 

I reinstalled the addon then turned on user engagement and tried to run an update and a calculate user engagement. With the favor recently and latest turned off. 

Attached is a clean log, directly after rotating log file i tried to calculate user engagement.
Same with the debug.

it was saved and i removed the plugin to reinstall it and i think it since this moment it lag the list

but after i wait to see the list and i delete all the movies from the list to see if it 'll come back like before ,

Yes with cache clean and next with the emby theater app on windows and it was the same thing , waiting more than 5 min and nothing arrive but when we go back to the table version in 20-23  with the letters alphabet all the films are loaded correctly, I tried uninstalling the plugin without any films added to the list and deleting the top-picks file present in the data folder, but even without anything and deleting and reinstalling the latest build it was working at first and I have this little problem, suddenly now for a few days it has bug maybe because removing and adding and reinstalling it corrupt the last version ? I'm going to stay on 23 ahaha ^^

Jim I'm seeing some interesting things in the log.

Top Picks is unable to find NFO files for your library items.

Does that seem correct? You don't use, or perhaps save NFO files?

If not, that is okay, We do some coding magic on the files for top picks that places them in order. However, I'm not sure I added it to Series.

So I'll work on that today. I should have this fixed up shortly

It looks as though the user Engagement task was unable to narrow down any results to add to the Top Picks library.

Because Critic and Community ratings weigh heavily on the choosing process it is possible that  none of the media in the library currently meets criteria.

Today I'm going to work on some code that will populate a list of items from user engagement based on whatever the user has available, if the engagement results return 0 items.

This will guarantee a populated list, but will work on whatever the top community/critic ratings you have.

Will post back shortly
