Hello, When you have a chance can you take a look at my log?

It freaked when I was messing with the skins preffrences.

When it starts to build it warns Unable to Build Menu.

I would have installed log uploader but not fast enough for the popup..

Can you please enable script.skinshortcuts own debug logging, in addition to Kodi's - System > Add-Ons > Enabled Add-Ons > Helper Add-Ons > Skin Shortcuts > Configure, then check "Enable debug logging". Thanks.

 

(Edit: or manually install XBMC Log Uploader from System > Add-Ons - when that is installed, skin shortcuts will take care of enabling all necessary debug logging, recreating the error, disabling debug logging, and then offer to upload a debug log when an error building the menu occurs)

still happening. After i updated i noticed the error happened a few seconds after starting kodi.

I noticed in that log that there was a error about favorites.xml could not be found, so i go the one from my previous install and remove the content and left it with blank data...jsut the favorite tags. Then i started kodi and the error too k much long er to start

I will look into it further tomorrow as tonight I don't have much time.

Is the error occurring after starting Kodi/XBMC (from a running computer) OR does it auto start on windows startup ?

In my case I had the same issue with my HTTPC's starting up too fast with SSD while the networkconnection was not available yet, causing errors in my various addons, like PVR and mediabrowser... After putting a small delay in the startup this was fixed.

OK, please try again with new updated skin (v.2.1.16)  and helperservice (v.1.2.3)

Let me know if everything is working fine.

 

If you still have the error on startup, I guess it's caused by the xbmb3c addon but I'll help you to fix that.

 

Most important to know is if your images (tiles) are all working good now.

OK, great. Just a little heads up about an issue I just discovered.

You have to restart xbmc after installing the skin's update else you'll get no tiles on the home screen...

 

Fixed it allready but if you've allready downloaded the 2.1.6 version you'll notice the error  :-)

Nice skin. I'm wondering what artwork it is trying to use for the native "i" info screen as the AR doesn't match Poster dimensions

Those errors are stating that the images cannot be downloaded from the MB3 server.

Is everything working okay ?

working on the MBS server...yes...but could it be a cache corruptions?

 

Like the error comes and goes so the tile might be blank for a bit then show a images, then when the timer ends and its switches, it goes blank and so on

Yes, that might be it... some cache corruption or something.

What happens if you open the url in your browser ?

Yeah, that was an error in conjuction with xbmb3c addon, is fixed in 2.1.18 release that's now on the xbmb3c repo..

OK, you are indeed having server problems.I think that if you go to your movie collection in xbmc that you'll be missing a lot of artwork there too...

Maybe one of the server devs is reading this but I suggest you to report the problem in the server area of the forum.

I havent noticed any missing artwork.but would i need to redo my cache only or imagebyname also. Also to redo them, do i just need to stop the server and rename folders?

In fact I really don't have a clue :-)

Just to be sure:  The images are NOT displayed in the tiles ?

Or are they displayed but you only get the error ?

Not displayed in tiles or background, when the start to work i see both. Yesterday i restored my server giving the Timeout problems  to a clean installation. i will test it out today with a fresh MB and fresh DB/Cache..etc and post back

I'm a fellow early adopter of WMC/MediaBrowser and have run the gamut in trying to find the holy grail of LiveTV/downloads/DVR. I've yet to find a solution that will finally allow me to completely ditch Windows but this skin has me closer than ever. Great work!

 

I am having an issue with the live tiles. Currently, they are only showing the default images (Avatar, Breaking Bad) Is there a setting that I am missing?

 

Two request:

1- the Latest Movies widget on the home screen shows the movies thumb and if that is not available displays the movies background with a title overlay. Is it possible to carry this format over to the Recently Added Episodes widget? Currently this displays the episode image with a title overlay and I think the series thumb image would be more visually pleasing.

2- the Recently Added Albums widget displays the album cover art with the album name overlayed. Unfortunately, the images are landscape thumbnail sized and not the proper aspect ratio for album art. Any chance of correcting this and removing the album title overlay?

Thanks for the feedback, yes I'm also a longtime big fan of MediaBrowser and designed my skin to give the best features out of it. Since I replaced my WMC setups (which I had for many years) I never looked back. The MB Classic is great but WMC is just a dead product (my personal opinion)...

 

As for your questions/requests:

 

0: I assume you're using the skin with MediaBrowser. Did you install and configure the XBMB3c addon ?

Also, after installation a reboot is required for the images to load (or just wait one hour or so).

If you have configured the XBMB3c addon and you selected "Mediabrowser Mode" in the skin it should all work out of the box without any further hassle.

 

1: I know that most users preference is to show the episode thumb for the recently added episodes. Off course I can also show the series thumb, it's just a personal preference which one you like best. What I will do is make it a selectable option. Will do this within a few days...

 

2: Actually I configured things that the Artist fanart is always preferred, it will just fallback to album covers if no fanart is available. Actually my experience with the MB3 music support is that is a bit behind, I strongly suggest you to use normal XBMC libraries for music as it just works much better. Offcourse we have to respect the fact that Music support isn't very long ago added to MB3 so it still needs some improvements which will come (I'm sure) along the way.

To get good working artwork, genres and other music info you'd better use XBMC for that. The skin will let you do that, just don't select Mediabrowser as the source for Music and add your music shares/folders to XBC and let it scan to library.

 

I'll let you know as soon as I have optimized the skin setings to make the thumbs selection user configurable.

So here is want i got so far

 

Setup: MBS 3.0.5424.1, XBMB3C 9.0.703 , Titan gotham and helix ( x.1.20)

 

All main Live tiles seems to work without error (TV shows , movies and Anime)

 

When i added a live tile for Favorite Shows on gotham, it seems to work...but... When i add the live tile in Helix for favorite shows and both XBMC's are running, the tile starts to get errors on both machines. Now i get favorite tiles error all the time in gotham. I redid the library from scratch in MBS. I dont know if its a coincidence that the tiles for favorite shows started failing after i added it to helix.

This portion says there is no backdrop but there is one when i look in metadata manager

This portion says there is no backdrop but there is one when i look in metadata manager

 

 

What do you have as client names in both xbmc clients ?

Make sure they're different... Maybe xbmb3c/mb3 can't handle if two clients with same name want to connect...

Both clients are running under the same mbs account. But the problem is there even if just one client is running now. Both clients need to be under the same account so watched status/resumes can follow. The problem is also there if i run both clients but one client is point to my mbs server on ip 192.163.13.190 and other pointing to 192.168.13.198 (client giving error). In this case both username are different. Could being connected in the webbrowser with the same username as xbmc cause this? This error is only in titan since it is tile releated...but why just the Favorite Shows or movies are affected and not the other tiles

I don't mean the MBS username... Your XBMC has an instance name that should be different on all clients...

I believe the setting for this is somewhere in Settings --> System

 

EDIT: It's in settings --> Network --> device name
