anderbytes 139
There are RARE situations where a manual APK installation is needed. And with Emby for Android is not one of them.
ebr 14948
It looks like the Play store does not support apps with any sort of payment in that location.
craigcurtin 0
Guys, I am looking at setting up an in-car Media Streamer/Storage system. The idea at this stage is to use a RPI3 witih USB hard disk as the Storage engine with Emby running on it. I will then create an in-car WIFI network and have the primary front end as a Nexus 7. Would i be better off running KODI on this with the Plug-in for Emby or running the Emby native client ? Is there a trial version of the EMby ANdroid client to test ? Luke 37179
Hi, sounds very cool. The Emby app is free to download and install, and you can test playback briefly for a minute at a time. Let us know how this goes.
craigcurtin 0
thanks for this - i have just downloaded and tested and it seems to work fine. Why are there so many people on this thread and the play store complaining about issues though ?? Is this a stable app ?
thefirstofthe300 291
From a users point of view, the app is now actually quite stable. There are a few issues that are being worked out but they are minor and generally don't affect the usability of the app much if at all. Many of those reviews were written several months ago when the app was still under extremely heavy development and did have some issues. The dev team is extremely responsive if you provide them with the necessary information to fix the issue and they have so far been very quick to get issues fixed in the beta. One of those reviews is mine, I need to get out of the beta testers group so I can actually edit/delete my review (won't let me do that on the beta). Randy Kerr 0
With this morning's update of the Android Emby App, I can't open subfolders. I.e., I open C drive, and see videos. But when I click on a folder listed, Ex. DOWNLOADS, that folder does not open. I can do search by name and access files in the folder that way. This is anew bug. Randy Kerr 0
Android Emby app version 2.6.14, and yesterday's update. I don't know what version that was. Perhaps you have a record of that somewhere. In any case. In browsing a directory, I cannot open folders within the directory from within the app. This issue arose yesterday and continues with the present version, set out above. This may seem like a PITA Randy, but you'd be amazed at how often situations arise where one party assumes that something is incredibly obvious to the other party. I've been watching this from the sidelines and haven't a clue what your talking about. What is obvious to you isn't obvious to others.
montai 0
I think I have a similar problem with an update I got today. Same problem on both my phone and tablet. On the home page, I have music, TV movies and documentaries folders. I select documentaries folder, then in that folder pick "politics" folder and it does not change folder, it doesn't go down into politics, it stays in "documentaries". I go back to home, select " TV" and I land in documentaries. Same for "movies", I land in documentaries. Happens on both phone and tablet, both android, both got updates today. Jumped on chrome, web client works as expected. IPhone client appears to be working OK. Server says it is up to date. Look forward to helping resolve this. Randy Kerr 0
Thank you,Luke. I open the android Emby App. CLICK HOME. I now see C Drive D Drive TP-LINK Playlists (by the way, why do I now.see each Playlists shown in triplicate. Name and thumbnail show three times??) I CLICK C Drive (or D Drive, same thing) Now a great many movies are shown as "Posters" when I scroll down. I can Open them, All to Playlist, etc. As I scroll down, perhaps one item in ten does not show a thumbnail. There is, instead a Folder name. Example:Wurst film (which contains porn vids) and Wizards (audiobook). In the past, I could select Open and view, and then play to folder contents. FOLDER = DIRECTORY, You get that, right? Now,when I Click on the bottom right of the Poster,on the the little dots arranged vertically, and Select Open, the Folder no longer opens. Instead Focus returns to the first item (a video thumbnail and name/referred to as a Poster, I think) in the displayed list. It that clear? (Not beng flipant. Just asking) Randy
Vidman 589
No not terribly clear at all. How about some screenshots
Randy Kerr 0
Hi Luke, I am pleased to report that with Android app version 2.6.17, I can again open folders. Thank your. As to playlists, When I open Playlist, from the Left Side, slides open Menu, in the Android App, the playlist I just created displays once (A Poster and Name of the playlist). The other playlists each display three times. So instead of 11 playlists, I show 31 playlists. Any fix for that? Cheers,Randy
Randy Kerr 0
About those playlists, I see that the web app is also showing playlist items in triplicate. Oddly, while the content is the same for each, duplicated item; in a couple of instances, the thumbnail for the third iteration of the placelist entry is different. Randy Hi, where exactly are you seeing triplicates?
Randy Kerr 0
In both the web app (app.emby.media) and the android Emby app, from the left slide out menu, where Home is at top left, there is, beneath Home, C Drive, D Drive, PlayLists, though the order of these elements can be altered by the user. Selecting Playlists, displays a Playlist. This is where the dupes appear. There are three playlists displayed for each playlist I have created, of which two dupes that should not be displayed. Each playlist display consists of a thumbnail, which you call a Poster, and a name. Randy
