What is "virtual scrolling"?

Essentially the whole list is never rendered, only what you're actually seeing on screen.

The virtual scrolling is incredibly smooth and fast now; so much so that I find it might be almost too fast...

Is there a chance we might see the ability to adjust the scroll speed, and/or possibly add a "letter" overlay as you're scrolling? Just like a single large letter in the corner that changes as you fast-scroll through your library so that for example, you could stop when you see "G" to know you're close to finding Godzilla, or something like that.

Note: This would only work if you view your library alphabetically.

I view mine by release date.

As such, I would need a year overlay.

I would love to see these features added.

I know that mapping every eventuality may take some time but...

Yeah, the same idea configured differently for different sort orders would be nice

Theater now has the virtual scrolling feature for vertical lists:

That means the lists will no longer load your entire library contents all at once and will instead only load what you see at once. This will help make the entire app more responsive and improve navigation performance.

I don't know what's up with this, but it keeps getting stuck. It'll work ok for a bit, then suddenly when I'm navigating inside a library, it just stops moving and I have to restart the app.

Now restarting the app doesn't correct it :/

UPDATE:

One more restart, and now it's responsive again
