Kodi DB records reports for the 2 files assigned to The Lost DNA:

20987	18088	e-325111-bed1409b0203e0cb2670ddb8eb331351-17264-20987-0-1-0-0-0-0-h264-3664234-aac-192000--The.Lost.DNA.S01E01.Origins.WEBDL_1080p.mkv 2022-09-19 09:40:19

Look at the date (received from Emby server) No wonder it's not listed as recently added. Let me know if this is wrongly assigned by plugin -> I doubt that.

fyi: Check Emby server settings there is an option how the date added is handled

Emby server -> libraries -> advanced -> "Date added behavior for new content:"

Indeed, my scrapper did change the date, I newly added this show 2 days ago, but the timestamps seems to be set for earlier:

But person of interest was added (again with a new files) and it does show as added recently, but the timestamps was all set to dec 27th, 2022... So I guess my scrapper did somehow not work as before!!! That makes sense now!

BTW the last plugin you sent me is not able to play any file! got an error all the time... went to the information to see the file name, and could only see: ../../../../../../../../ etc

ok, then use 7.X We can talk about that issue via PM. As mentioned, it's quite experimental.

Your nfo's doesn't count. What counts is what Emby server reports to next-gen plugin. And that's usually what's in Emby server database.

What I see, is the 2022-9-19 09:39 -> that's your mkv timestamp, and I assume that's what Emby server reports. for Lost DNA.

Last POI episode added:

I stop here debugging your database. This is obviously not a plugin issue.

Agreed, not related to the plugin... I'm looking on my end to figure out what change and when it starts updating the file timestamp to a previous date months ago!!! I'll keep an eye from now on! thanks for the clarification.

Like I said the libraries are handled independently, also Actor wise. This is a concession to musicvideo multi library support -> Kodi has limitations.

That's the reason I think the assigned movies to an actor works this way as you described.

What was the last working version? I tried it with the latest versions, but unfortunately the addon is so useless for me, I use this very often and do not want to do without it because of musicvideos.

It's not clear, if my assumption was correct. You never reviewed or confirmed that.

If I'm right, I don't know which version, very early 7.x or 6.X.

I absolutely cannot follow here. Please be specific.

Finally maybe, just maybe this can be fixed by modifying the custom nodes. But first I need details.

What about the other way around. -> searching actors in movies assigned to other libraries? What happens there?

In kodi i go to the movie - then infos - then actor.

But don't stress yourself. :) I'll check older versions.

Oh, about this point

6. Report your addon settings (most important, native or addon mode)

Well I see what I can do, it's not hard fixing the movies actors, the tricky part is keeping musicvideo artists unique. If I change the movie actors, there could be side effects on musicvideo artists.

Thanks for the info, so i know it's difficult with the kodi limitations.

I send you a test version via PM, but there is still work to do in the code.

I noticed that after the 2 updates Emby Next Gen isn't updating the videos after logging in.  It seems to update only after I start playing a video and stopping it.

I need a Kodi log for review which includes this scenario. A random kodi.log will not do the job.

What does this mean?  I'm not sure how to grab a kodi log from the Nvidia Shield but I can try.  It's happening on both my Shield devices.

This it means, this surly not a common plugin issue. Actually I think this is specific to your setup, most likely a network issue. There are dozens of possibilities what could went wrong. A simple report, it's not syncing is not enough to help. Also please open a new thread, cause this sound like there is a long discussion ahead.

To all users with Emby server 4.8.0.20 and higher. This Emby server version has a performance issue. As a workaround, reduce the paging factor in plugin's sync settings to a very low value.

Factor 1 was tested and confirmed working. This slows down the init sync performance, but at least the (init) sync will not run into a timeout. Higher values could work as well, but at some point timeouts will appear. Default setting is factor 70 and this too high for > .19
