Updated the client to beta 2.1.11g This is not a fix - the problem still exists. I am watching a program while it is recording. If the server stops recording while the client is still watching, then the crash occurs when the client stops watching. There is no crash if the client stops watching while the server is recording. I can confirm that if I do nothing after the crash occurs, eventually the screen goes black and Emby restarts,

Yeah just 3840:2160 in the 1st box and 1920:1080 in the 2nd. The issue does not seems to happen when transcoding 4K to 4K because there is no rescale at this stage, no rescale means nothing to replace. when transcoding from 4K to something else, rescaling happens, and the substitution kicks in. 1920:1080 is good wether you target 1080p’or lower resolution (but I don’t know why). anyway, doing this since the first beta 4.8, and it’s a rock solid workaround.

I think the mention of other platforms is just a statement of same server hw same client hw different server and client software all to say it's probably solvable. And I'm sure if people thought the other platforms were better they would just use them and turn away from emby. But I think we all just love emby and hope this gets some attention soon or some kind of update that this is being worked. Just my 2 cents.

@LukeIndeed! Tried Firefox, Chrome and Safari. Firefox and Chrome do tend to be slightly better. Due to how fast downloads are, people have just been using that option. Also I tried the emby desktop client on my windows pc, it has the same issue. I will work to collect more logs!

EXACTLY!!! GENRE by (Album Artists AND Artists AND Composers), all shown lumped together, is what we have now. GENRE by (Album Artists) OR (Artists) OR (Composers), with only one shown separately, is what would be more useful for many. (Apologies if the above rough logic is not quite technically correct - but I think the difference between the two is still understandable?) STYLE by Albums would be a very nice addition to incorporate somehow, perhaps as per @Vicpa examples? @Luke Please keep progressing with the new Genre pages (plus Style). Don't stop part way, now that you have started. The Emby team could really make Emby music Genres/Styles great!

I have an i9 13980HX in my Win11 laptop with integral UHD graphics. It's not what I have Emby running on, that's on a dedicated i5 -6500 with Intel HD530 graphics running Ubuntu that does not struggle transcoding a single stream of any supported QSV video type, it may do more - I just never needed to transcode more than one.... The 14th Gen i9 should be miles better if it includes an Arc or Iris XE graphics card on chip. (Although you need to check with @Luke about whether the exact model is supported) Using QSV codecs in Handbrake mine rips Blu-Rays between about 400 and 800 frames a second depending on h264/h265. Which compares to about 800fps (either codec) using NVENC and the discrete Nvidia 4090 laptop gpu. Make MKV takes less than a minute to process the same blu-ray. So you should be able to transcode a bunch of streams simultaneously with no issues with the i9, yes.

...or add to existing collections. I select a couple of movies, type a collection name, and click create. The operation finishes, but the collection has not been created. If instead I try to add the files to an existing collection, the same process happens. Everything appears OK, but the movies are not added to the collection. I thought maybe the problem was that the database files under my username were read-only, but I cleared that. Any help is appreciated.

In the scenario where access to all media libraries is not enabled and user media library access permissions are customized. In this scenario, when creating a new media library, the user's media library permissions default to the unselected state. So, was there no record of adding user media library permissions when creating a new media library?

Hi Style as a "non exclusive sub-type" of Genre makes sense to me (meaning a style can exist in multiple genres). From a view stand point "style by album" is my base request. Other magic Emby, is the cool whistle & bell stuff. Something like this Show a screen of available styles: Select One style: ie Vocal display by album -vicpa @Luke given the ambiguous definition of "Artist" , I would not show or not include them, maybe an opt-out option. I understand how it works. But it makes my audio look wrong or miss tagged and frankly I spend alot of time working to make it visually appealing. Fyi. Discogs has nice descriptions of styles don't know if there any potential overlap with the good suggestion below.

While watching a video, at random points in the video, it will rewind a few seconds and replay. Typically no more than 3 to 5 seconds

First thing I would do is disable UPNP port mapper as it is flooding log with noise. Bottom of Network Menu (have to enable remote access to see it near bottom) or uninstall plugin. FYI you are looking at "LibraryMonitor" per your log. RE: Emby version; absolutely... life drain... since a while back Emby got removed from the Syno repo and forces me to update it manually, so I do it once a while (when I find the time!). At any rate shouldn't be that old... is been a couple of months I believe since updated it manually. To this point, the movies added didn't appear after the changes (will remove the scheduled task as had no effect). I've also enabled debug logs just in case -attached-, but I don't see any automatic refresh trigger (although, I will trigger it manually after this message because I want to add my movies ) embyserver.txt

I had to remove Emby due to setting up a incorrectly configured setting for SSL and set SSL to required. So I was no longer able to access it, but now after being uninstalled it wont install properly and won't shutdown via the Emby Web interface. I am trying to setup SSL again, but it doesn't seem to reconfigure when I force it closed and open again from the docker controls in TrueNAS. Is there something I am missing to get back to a fresh emby install, or is there something up with the image? I am trying to install the TrueNAS Scale official charts emby image. Any help is appreciated

Not sure as this becomes a platform issue. All your media is on the Synology also correct? Doubt it will make a difference but is there a reason you are still on 4.7.14.0? As a note for the api it requires localhost or https connection but there are browser flag workarounds. Mentions in the first section of this how to.
