I had to remove Emby due to setting up a incorrectly configured setting for SSL and set SSL to required. So I was no longer able to access it, but now after being uninstalled it wont install properly and won't shutdown via the Emby Web interface. I am trying to setup SSL again, but it doesn't seem to reconfigure when I force it closed and open again from the docker controls in TrueNAS. Is there something I am missing to get back to a fresh emby install, or is there something up with the image? I am trying to install the TrueNAS Scale official charts emby image. Any help is appreciated

Hi! On unraid 6.12.6 using Emby server docker from emby. I sometimes change to beta version and if I do that or go back to latest my enitre emby install has to be done again, adding my key then installing the backup and restore plugin then waiting for my metadata to repopulate etc. 1st question: why do my users have to drop the "old" server or why does it not create the same server from backup? Is it the docker ID? I run Jellyseer as well in a docker, works great! Again, if I change my EmbyServer version from latest to beta or back Jellyseer will let me in with my EmbyAdmin but all the abilities are gone, I can't add/edit users or run scans 2nd question: how can I "reconnect" Jellyseer to Emby without reinstalling everything? BTW love all the recent change; what started this request for help is that wanted to update to the beta version to get the updated backup and thats when I realized that I couldn't see the old backups, so I went back to latest stable and realized that my whole server setup had to be redone even when I restored my backup... I hope all that makes sense... Thanks Scott

Hi, I upgraded my hard drive and at the same time I (finally!) decided to make the jump from Windows 7 to Windows 10. Before upgrading, my cache and metadata folders were stored at a custom location and the Emby-Server folder was stored in users folder but without the "programdata" folder. CustomLocation\Emby\Cache CustomLocation\Emby\Metadata CustomLocation\Emby\Metadata\People Users...\Emby-Server\ I used the configuration backup plugin to backup/restore emby settings. However, after the reinstall the initial scan took almost 12 hours to complete and I've noticed that my peoples images are different to my previously saved images. All my media metadata ie nfos, posters, etc are saved with the media (except chapter images I'm guessing). The new locations after reinstall are: CustomLocation\Emby\Cache CustomLocation\Emby\Metadata CustomLocation\Emby\Metadata\People Users...\Emby-Server\programdata\ The cache and metadata locations haven't changed but the server install have moved to a subfolder i.e. programdata. The actors are listed and saved in folders by name (this structure might be outdated) My question are: (1) Did the change in the server install location to programdata cause the redownloading of new peoples images? (2) Or am I using an outdated peoples folder structure that needs to be upgraded and if so, how do I convert? (3) Can I use my old saved peoples images with the new install and any new required structure? Many thanks for any advice received.

Using the guide here I backed up the files it said which included many from /var/lib/emby on my system. I wiped and reinstalled the os and followed the guide on restoring. When it came to setting up emby through the web interface it just paused and did nothing. So I uninstalled emby using my package manager and noticed it left /var/lib/emby untouched although it originally created it itself so I manually deleted it. When I installed the package again it did not create /var/lib/emby and the web interface appears to not be running. It's not creating a service that I can start or restart but systemctl has "emby-server@" and "emby-server@.service". When I enable through systemctl it seems to have no effect. I tried installing emby on another device and copying /var/lib/emby across but again it made no difference. How can I get emby working again? At this point restoring userdata is not a concern but I would like to get emby working without reinstalling the os again. The hardware is a raspberry pi 4b with 4gbs of ram and the os is the latest version of raspbian.

Hello all. For some reason Emby Theater does not start anymore. No recent windows updates downloaded or installed (system is completely updated as of less than a week ago). No helpful error messages so no feedback to report to the community. Using most recent Emby Server version. Windows 10 Prof. machine. Tried reinstalling Emby Theater, downloaded from https://emby.media/emby-theater.html and when i run the installer executable, again nothing happens. I need Emby Theater because i use it with MadVR and browser playback simply wont cut it. I would appreciate your advice and technical support. Thank you in advance. Dimitris

Hi, Can somebody please tell me why -- Every Time EMBY does an update IT WIPES EVERYTHING BACK TO A BRAND NEW INSTALLATION ?? The last update (a couple of months ago) also wiped Emby back to a new installation, and since then I have been painstakingly setting it back up AGAIN -- the TV shows, movies and for the last 3 weeks my CD library. And today App Central informs me there is an update to vers. 3.0.6020.r1 .... and I (as I have now found out) foolishly allowed the update to occur ... Emby restarts and it is BLANK !!!! JUST AS IF I JUST INSTALLED IT FOR THE FIRST TIME !!!!! I use the Plugin "Server Configuration Backup" .. So I re-installed it, restarted Emby and ran the last backup which was saved last night --- and it did ... wait for it .... Nothing ! So I restarted Emby again, re-ran the Backup and restored from the last save and waited, around 10 minutes later, noticed some things starting to appear (looks like you can't rush it). So have I got to completely re-setup EMBY EVERY TIME THERE IS AN UPDATE ? And if so - WHY ?? PLEASE HELP !!!!! (Added this morning) So the restore started last night about 8pm .. it is now 6am and the restore is still running - the scan is up to 69.2% Not sure if it is still the 1st scan from the restore last night, or the scheduled scan due 4.30am every day, but the scheduled scan usually takes about 20min ... so this is taking a lot longer. But still I do want to ask the programmers - Does Emby have to wipe itself every time there is an update on the Asustor version ??

Currently running Emby on a HP N36L Microserver with Ubuntu 16.04. Server has a 5 drives, with 1 for boot, and 4 in a sw RAID in which all my media is on. For various reasons, the server is running out of oomph, so its finally time to upgrade. Going to move the lot to a ML10 V2 which on paper at least meets all my requirements. Will likely remain using Ubuntu 16.04, and definitely the same sw RAID drives so my media paths will all remain intact ie: /media/RAIDdrive/TV/ for TV etc. What is the best/recommended way to ensure after i reinstall, i can keep my watched/unwatched and other data intact for the migration? Any suggestions/experience very much appreciated

I will be doing a clean re-install of my OS (WHS 2011). My media files are on separate drives and will have the same drive letters and paths. What is the process for migrating my all of my emby settings, data and database to the new installation?

I need to wipe my C-drive and reinstall win7 on my HTPC/MB3 Server PC... so will need to reinstall MB3 and MBC. I have browsed the forum and found the main info: http://mediabrowser.tv/community/index.php?/topic/10427-how-to-migrate-media-browser-server/&do=findComment&comment=130962 and http://mediabrowser.tv/community/index.php?/topic/10494-exportimport-settings/page-2 Since the MB Backup plugin is not mentioned in the "How to Migrate" guide, I am unclear on how it fits into the migration plan and what order to perform the install / recover / and file restoration steps. Can you update the guide or provide a step-by-step process here?

Hello Version 3.0.5343.40355 Yesterday I uninstall Media browser, today I install again, but tv seasons doesn't show properly. Metadata was saved on tv folders, all images etc was saved in past. Now it looks like MB don't see images and don't issue season item. Example below. How to relink automatically all seasons in tv shows?so I will be see correctly... Second thing, from what depending that sometimes MB download to folder season01-poster.jpg and sometimes only season01-landscape.jpg(I check poster also exist to that tv shows). Regards
