Right ok, I might be misunderstanding but I have my files set as stereo as the default track, but it looks as though the client is being sent the 5.1 track.

Like I say, I might be wrong or just not understanding.

Thanks

Do both tracks have the same language tag?

New version 1.1.3.2 and 1.1.4.2 in the starting post:

General:

  • Fixed loading of config page for beta servers
  • Moved API key input to the proper place of the config page (Playback Option)

Channels:

  • Fix for tv shows that are spread across multiple folders
  • Respect specials in sorting of tv show
  • Fixed sorting other than "Random..." for MixedContent channels
  • Changed Studios channel rule to conditional logical operators
  • Added wildcard evaluation to logical operator expressions for Genre, Tags and Studios

Export API:

  • Fixed malformed xmltv output that occured under some circumstances

Important:
You have to clear your browser cache!
The change of the channel rule for Studios is a plugin breaking change. I've integrated some migration strategy that should (hopefully) keep your settings intact,
but you have to restart your Emby server a second time for changes to take affect. A backup of your configuration xml file will be created automatically.

Roku

And have you enabled "Always play default audio track regardless of language" in Web app Playback settings, as Roku should inherit that?

Then this:

should not be occurring. Dose same happen on normal playback, outside of VirtualTV?

Not according to stats for nerds no, outside of virtual TV it's using stereo, as it should.

In that case wild guess would be faulty logic in either streams querying process plugin-side or decision making process server-side; possibly debug log might offer some insight, @pünktchen?

Which playback mode you're using?

That's a really important question! 👍

I'm using Continuous Playback (Live).

Shouldn't "Convert multichannel audio to stereo" in plugin Playback Options take care of your issue for that mode?

I've tried that, didn't appear to make any difference.

Plus, what's the point of converting 5.1 to stereo when there's already a stereo track there.

Then then audio settings have to be made for the user profile that you've choosen for the library selection in the plugin, not for the user who will play it in the apps. Provided that are different users!

I've checked and the user selected in virtual TV settings has "Always play default audio track regardless of language" selected also.

Are you sure the stereo track is default for said video?

From memory the live playback mode will transcode (that's why I use archive), maybe the transcode process could be the problem?

Just a guess.. :)

I'm sure the stereo track is default yes.

I've just tried changing it to archive, but it still does the same thing.

Is there any information or screenshots I can give that may help?

Thanks

A screenshot with Mkvtoolnix could help, that's if it's a mkv container.. :) I can't remember the equivalent for mp4.

As @pünktchenmentioned MediaInfo would have some useful info.. 👍

@NinkoEither change the view in MediaInfo to Tree or post the media item details from within Emby. We can't see what is the default audio track.
