If you are pulling a it.xml then you have download language set to italian. Now if information is not available @@Luke would have to explain the language fallback scenario.

@@Luke can you explain this language fallback scenario?

@@Luke I am a little confused as the zips appear to be returning season posters now, but the banners.xml in the cache folder is different then the banners.xml in the zip.  Even when deleting the cache folder and refreshing the item.

I see modified date changing but not the file info.

 

But yes there are still report issues with images on TVDB..

FYI "thetvdb.com/api/Updates.php?type=all&time=xxxxxxxxxxx appears to working again.  Now they just need to get their data correct as there are still lots of complaints..

@@Luke has something changed with season images?  Emby does not return season images even though they exist.  Nothing in the log that I can see.  But don't really know how they were queried before.

I’m having issues too when trying to update Tv Shows Seasons, no image can be found whereas it’s working for TV Show main page.

 

I don’t know if I’m clear enough

 

Yes there is a known issue of Season images not being returned from TVDB.  As I posted above.

Only TVDB can answer that question.  As we have zero control over the issues they created.

Unfortunately the data coming back for season posters is still not good. I can't workaround this in our Tvdb plugin. Look at the Dexter xml for example.

 

All season posters are assigned to season 8, so that means season 8 will get a random poster from another season, and the other seasons won't get anything.

Hi Luke,

 

actually I have no problems with the season posters but with the series poster itself.

On Kodi a new series is showing a poster for both with their scraper. On emby I get only season poster but not then primary series poster.

Sorry I don't understand as I see no issue with Series poster, only Season posters.  You many need to go over the exact way you are seeing this issue.

Season images/api returning wrong season for all season images and episode Seasonid are still open issues at TVDB.

MovieDb is a great option for Season posters, just a reminder.

 

Hi, I cannot find a way to use MovieDB when searching for images. I can only see TVDB as a source. Can you please point me in the right direction.

Hi Happy2Play,

 

On my side there is also a problem with the series poster.

I just scanned for a new anime and did not get the posters (series and seasons).

I have tvdb and moviedb as scraper in Emby.

 

I did the same in Kodi (only tvdb scraper) and I got all images.

So I think there is a problem in the scraper on Emby's side.

 

I also get a bunch of errors in Emby related to moviedb scraper.

 

When I try to manually load the series poster I get an empty dialog.

Make sure you have the moviedb metadata provider enabled in the settings for your tv library.

 

I have both tvdb and moviedb metadata provider enabled

but when identifying or searching for season posters emby use always only tvdb.. in source selection I have always tvdb and zero results.. (I tried The Witcher who is on both scraper..)

am I missing something?

Hi, please don't get me wrong. I'm just trying to understand where the problem is.

 

When I look inside the zip file it loads (de.xml.zip) I see in the main xml file (de.xml) then there are only the language artworks (german). So if there is no specific german poster for series or even seasons then there will be none listed. As a consequence of this the banners.xml should also be empty.

If this is the case then a fallback language (en.xml.zip) should be loaded (if the main language is not english or always) and there I see many posters (series and seasons) inside, also in the banners.xml are all the posters.

 

I don't know how the tvdb scraper works, but I know that in the past the scraper did get always local language and english.(I had in the past other issues and in the logs it was readable).

 

Sure, as a workaround other scraper can be added but this only get the scan to slow down on a huge library.

What is wrong with the delivered datas from tvdb?

EDIT: This appears to have been a local problem. Changing DNS servers fixed it.

 

I'm unable to get any metadata from tvdb at the moment. Here's what the log looks like, appears that www.thetvdb.com is not working (but I can successfully access thetvdb.com without the www in a browser):

since weeks i cant get images from tvdb, i dont know what to do now.

 

i have running emby on a synolgy nas with thetvdb addon 1.0.22.0

 

if i search images there is not only one , on the search site

 

what can i do ?

from my local kodi client is it working without a problem
