I updated to TVDB 1.0.21, then refreshed Metadata, restarted the server, then scanned the library for shows and I still can't see my upcoming shows list - Is this what's still broken with TVDB?

Ok that's because the image url is bad, notice the double /banners/banners. It is a tvdb problem but i can push out a 1.0.22 update to work around it.

I updated to TVDB 1.0.21, then refreshed Metadata, restarted the server, then scanned the library for shows and I still can't see my upcoming shows list - Is this what's still broken with TVDB?

 

For that feature to work right now you're going to have to refresh metadata on individual series. As stated previously in this thread, in order for all features to work perfectly, we're going to have to wait for tvdb to resolve their issues.

 

What I'm trying to do with these plugin updates is work around it as best we can to help ensure that the most important, basic metadata retrieval features will work.

Man TVDB screwed their release up badly. Hopefully they get this fixed. Their logs must be filling up fast with bad request!

 

What series? From what i can see the server is never trying to even obtain any season images from tvdb, which suggests they are not even being returned by the tvdb api. I haven't dug through a series xml file yet to confirm that though.

I just got a new copy of the series xml of The Mandalorian and it doesn't even have any season images anymore, so they must have pulled them out for now i guess.

Thanks for doing the ground work for a ton of APIs! I was also thinking of doing some scraping to check viable alternatives.

 

I'm willing to offer a bounty of $50 for a working plugin that could be used as a fallback/replacement for tvdb (as this API migration clearly shows the need for one).

I know fanart had some plans for trakt integration as well.

I'm a *nix systems guy, so I'm willing to help in any way I can.

Hi guys, hope you can please help and advise the best way to fix the recent issue I'm having!

 

The upcoming section on my emby browser that has worked perfectly for as long as I can remember is now missing most of the daily shows I have in my TV library :(

 

I see from the logs that 'TVDB' was updated earlier today and since then there are only a couple of TV shows now showing in my 'Upcoming' section where as before there are usually 5-6 regular weekly TV shows showing each day.

 

I've rebooted the server several times but that's made no difference and I'e also checked the TV guide's online to check that my regular shows are airing tonight and whilst they are they are not showing in my EMBY upcoming section etc.

 

Anyone please now how I can fix this please (with instructions if you'd be so kind;) ?

Do to the current /update issue with TVDB you are required to manually Refresh Series level metadata, or library level.  You can do a Refresh - Search for missing also.  Awaiting TVDB fix.

Yea manual refreshes will be required for that information because the tvdb updates api is still not working. Normally it would just be automatic as part of the regular library scan. That's a minor thing though compared to basic metadata retrieval, so we'll just have to wait for them to resolve that.

Do I have to go to the 'Metadata Manager' and then click on every individual TV show that is still currently airing and select 'refresh metadata' and then choose 'repalce all metadata'?

 

Sorry for the newbie questions, this is a feature of Emby that i'm totally reliant on and I've been completely lost trying to work out which of my regular shows are due to air each day without having access to this info.

Yay, I've finally got an Emby server issue that for once is not directly my fault!  :lol:  :rolleyes: (well "yay" I guess, anyway....)

 

Good to know the TVDB devs are aware and working on it.

 

Thanks again for always staying on top of everything on the Emby side for us Luke, It's much appreciated by many!

The reason I ask is because I am able to refresh & replace metadata (with TVDB as the only metadata source) and it does grab images but they're much older series images that I know iare not the current ones TVDB uses (or even in one of the 3 image sets they list on each main series page on TVDB).

 

Should I be expecting that? Or should I expect it to properly grab the newest metadata from TVDB when manually doing refresh & replace on each series individually?

It seems the only way I can get "current" metadata images from TVDB (meaning any of the 3 sets at the bottom of a series page, like this one for example: https://thetvdb.com/series/its-always-sunny-in-philadelphia) is to manually download them and add them to each show myself.

 

Doing a "Replace all Metadata" with "Replace existing images" checked seems to just pull back the same old series image, that isn't one of the 3 on the TVDB series page. I'm curious if anyone else is having this same issue in specific?
