I have this problem with ripped bluray movies, i cant skip forward using the slider or the forward buttons, it just goes back to the start. I removed ET and deleted the one ET folder, reinstalled ET, its still not working. I tried the 3 different video renderers and it still does not work.

Check to see if the playback is "transcoding" or direct play

Start playback..  On the computer that runs the server, bring up the server dashboard.. You will see you movie selected and below the screenshot is the playback type.

In the web app, go to the details page of the movie, scroll down and you'll see the file details. Can you post a shot of that?

OK, there are multiple subs on that file. You should post the transcode log, and probably the server log for that time frame. I don't know if you like to try things, but the first thing I would try would be a quick remux with mkvtoolnix. Sometimes there is an error with container/splitting. If that didn't work, remux again and remove the subs. I'm assuming you can play it OK in other players? I think we need to nail this down, so maybe Luke and/or Babgvant can improve resilience. Let's get as much information as we can. If you dont want to experiment, maybe you can slice off a junk and share it? Then I can test it.

Hi i dont mind experimenting but are you thinking this is a mkv file, its a blueray rip BDMV folder and 23gb, obviously its been reduced in size.

Curious. It's h264. So it's folder rip. That may be the issue. We need to tag @@Luke in. I don't use folder rips. You'd be advised to remux to matroska. Luke, is there a known issue with folder rips?

And post the transcode log, too.

No known issue but folder rips will transcode if the app does not have direct access to the folder.

here you go, where do i find the transcoding log?

I have a few bluray movies that are the same format and they behave the same way regarding skipping forward.

Im going to try a full 44gb rip later tonight. From what i can see i have full access to these movie folders. I was not playing bluray folder rips for a long time so this is a new problem for me. For another reason i have installed emby server again today but it has not improved this situation.

It's weird that the Blu-ray file is h264. We're gonna need those transcode logs.

They are in the same place as the server logs. Click logs in the server, then right click the log you want and save. Then attach it here.

I'm still finding this issue is affecting just about anything I watch.  Movies and TV shows.  It shows up mostly when I try and resume a video.  It shows the search bar as the right location, but the actual video file plays from the beggining.

I haven't changed anything in the config of my setup for quite some time so I am not sure whats going on or how to fix it.  Skiping the file while playing it also causes the issue.

Pretty much everything I am playing is from an online source and none of it was ripped by me.

Delete this folder and restart Theater. The LAV filters will re-download.

OK, so I just folder ripped one of my discs, so I could try. Luke, ET won't direct play it. For me, it direct streamed. It's converting the dts to MP3. I wonder if this is the issue? I have this movie as an MKV with the same audio, and it plays directly. Could there be an issue with the ffmpeg probe? I've attached the server log. Look for time of around 20:32. I'm attaching the Theater log, also. Look for exotica.

I should add that I was able to use the progress bar, though it was not smooth.

My drives and folders are on the server machine. I can't give it more direct access.

Wait! I missed that. So I'm running Theater on my HTPC over my network, which is directly connected to the same switch as the server.
