Have you set the library to use BIF's with the media - re section 4.3 of the Wiki ?

Is it planned to expand the functionality to BIF's that are not saved alongside the media files?

Possibly, we tried for a while to find where these are held in the dB but failed.   Is there any reason you don't save the BIF file with the media ?   I guess if you have never done this, then it will mean recreating all your BIF's (for both HDR - via the plugin and non-HDR items - via core emby) which is not ideal I agree.

@ebr @Luke Can you kindly let us know how we find the location of the BIF file if it is not held alongside the media ?  Thanks.

I have the "Generate BIF for Movies" enabled.

Can it run alongside the "Media Info" task?

Sure no problems, it was my first test! My cpu happily bounces around 75%

In my case no specific one just started with the default Emby location and never changed it ever since.

But for those using cloud storage they might hit some limits / delays, I guess.

I assume you guys already had a look at the API, right?

Can’t access them, i spent a day finding them and couldn’t update or overwrite them.  I could spend more time, but at the moment thats a choice the user will have to make. And a movie is only about 10Mb of data.

and to be fair if they are using the cloud they will have plenty of storage

The error is suggesting you have no HDR movies and it's returning a NULL reference (ArgumentNullException which we need to trap) but I presume there are HDR movies to convert - thus you running it ? ;) If you picked one manually, does it have colour primaries as  bt2020 in it's media info ?

Yes and yes. Only those HD and UHD-DV5 files don't have those infos at all, lots of others UHD HDR ones look exactly like yours. I haven't checked all. 😅

It appears that when you have (Default) on and there is only on audio track that it's removing the (Default) and the video information.  For all episodes I have the video information is missing even though the log says it was written.

It wasn't doing this before though because older episodes have the video info.

Log in link.  I can rerun with debugging on and reset

Well, that's what I thought at first.  But it doesn't appear so because I have some episodes with 1 audio track and the video info was written.   However, even after refresh these same episodes don't have any video info.

hahaha, ok that's completely my fault.  I was doing some testing for the "locked" file issues, and put those in for my testing.  so i could figure out how to fix and oooops i forgot to remove them (which is why it's not writing a title.

give me a few mins.  I wanna try and get the Bif issues sorted too.

The issue with the titles not being edtied on Linux seems solved with the latest version in post #1.
Well, at least for the audio tracks, video is still not being edited, dunno why, can't see anything in the logs either.
So, step by step we are getting there.. 🙂
