After a long, long scan everything fits now after all - very, very fine plugin - thank you very much to the creators.

Yes, remember it modifies the actual MKV file with the new track titles - so once emby picks this up - via the real time monitor or library scan - THEN, assuming you've told emby to use the Titles, then you'll see the updates in Emby.

Explained in the Wiki - Home · Cheesegeezer/MediaInfoWiki Wiki (github.com)

Enjoy :)

The plugin now forces to use embedded titles to aid in removing users finding other settings.

should i add that in the UI or log?

i think there is a notification that states this on the UI. Sorry i haven’t visited it for ages coz it’s working perfectly for me.

I'll update the Wiki Dave.

All working perfectly for me too since we(you..) wrote it - a fantastic plugin which I see the results of every time I play something :)

But it actually states:
"This determines the title displayed as default if no local or Internet metadata is available."

But there is local or internet metadata available - why can this be read anyway?

But that setting is not used and is the wrong setting for embedded track titles.  The embedded track titles setting is in Library-Advanced tab per the image in the wiki in step 9.

Since I installed the plugin, new movies and episodes are no longer read cleanly. For example, I added a new episode the day before yesterday, which is still not read into Emby.

Did I miss something?

Hi Teddy,

im gonna need more info to help you out. Can you do a debug log for me and run it on same episode by adding the episode id to the reprocess field.

show me what the mediainfo json output looks like too.

if you can screen shot your settings please for the plugin.

I just deactivated it to see if anything is read in now. Apparently, for every little tool (especially now MediaInfo and Mkvtool) must be released extra rights in the Synology. What I had done earlier.

The problem is, how should I be able to enter for the ID of the episode, if Emby does not want to read in?

Thanks for the log.  So... you deactivated the plugin before giving me the server log... and i have no info for MediaToolbox in there.

BUT.....   I think you have much bigger issues with your server and setup.   I have never seen a log with sooo many errors in it for a very long time.

I will walk you thru what to do.

First enable debug logging

image.thumb.png.21512f8fe1726254ee6111b2fc1d35a2.png

Then find an episode that you think has issues in the web UI, you will find the episode id in the address bar

image.png.ce09366fd00ef293ab89e604264aa57a.png

Take copy only the number (617994) and add this to the plugin reprocess field and then hit save

image.png.36ef97fab44ee77393591d7d70b6f1f8.png

Go to schedule tasks and rotate the log

image.png.db3a9729f9a1a35da5c375eb5c672a49.png

Finally  Run the mediainfo task

image.png.d02ed08d66319fc179064d22c91918f5.png

in the log you will see information like this, it will also show you the exact json output from mediaInfoCLI itself (further down)

image.thumb.png.8a253fcbe78b0f2dfd6b8ac6b5b7c528.png

here is the JSON that you should find in the log also

@rbjtech  I have added the above to the Wiki, however you might want to check or edit it, to keep in line with your current formatting

Somehow I can't get anything done right now - for two weeks we've been clearing out the house, so much crap that no one needs anymore. Renovation is also not going as planned.

I switched off MediaInfo for TV series, but still didn't want to read anything - after an hour it was always at 86.7% and I could do whatever I wanted. Went nothing forward. And my wife is of course waiting for her new TV episodes. Since I can not wait forever until everything is there. Long story short. Deleted the series library completely, and recreated it over a new library.

I'll have to try again later - but first I'm glad that MediaInfo works for the movies.

Emby now has a built in HDR BIF Generator (certainly in the latest Beta it does as I use it) - so I believe this function now may well be disabled ?

Try turning on debug logging - as it should give you more details on the output, but I would personally use the core version - it's no better than the plugin version, but it will be better integrated with the other non HDR BIF file creation.

I agree but if the user is still on release 4.7.11 then the plugin might be of use. However, when the beta hits release stage… we can remove this element. But i am interested in doing the ac3 track insert you have spoken about for a while now.

Sounds good.  I noticed some other HDR 'bugs' as well the other day on certain files.  They had HDR colour space (BT2020) but they had no 'HDR text based description' in media Info - they are HDR PQ files - so thus the plugin didn't tag them as HDR.   We probably need to just fall back to using the colour space field if the HDR description field is blank or missing.

And yea, tagging the other standard Audio tracks would be a great option (AAC, AC3 etc) - as filtering by Tag is far superior to any of the Emby filtering options.

Other than that - a rock solid Plugin ! - a must have for AV Enthusiasts imo .. :)

It will not modify Date Created - but it will modify Date Modified - as it has been modified. ;)

No it wont change your date added at all. So everything in your library will not be changed in order.

Will the plugin be updated to allow the new versions of mediainfo w/o the override? I know there were a couple versions that had issues but I haven't seen any problems with the changed metadata using 22.12 version.
