  1. Hi, I hope someone can clarify the problem. I have the TV show "Sliders". On the TV show page the cast/actors are listed: When I switch into an episode there is no cast/actor although there should be according to TheTVDB. I have configured the library like this: I am using only TheTVDB. If I use another primary service the actors get mixed up because the other services have the wrong order (airing order). Is that a problem with TheTVDB or is my configuration wrong? Best regards Goran
  2. I swear the option was there before, searching the forum does not appear to show any other reports of this. Is there a reason we dont have TheTvDB as a Season Level MetaData provider anymore (Emby Server Version: 4.8.8.0)
  3. Hi I noticed newly added series no longer fetch metadata and images from TheTVDB. The first series which didn't retrieve info was Avatar: The Last Airbender (2024) so I thought it was because Emby couldn't find the correct Avatar series but even after identifying the series and forcing a metadata refresh only the series description is filled in, no images are retrieved and the episodes are not recognised. Today I tried with another series: 'Death and Other Details' but the result is the same: Attached are the server logs for yesterday (with the identify) and today. I do notice a lot of Unauthorized errors in the logs. Is there an issue with TheTVDB right now? I'm still using Emby 4.7.14.0 as I'm waiting on an update to make the Android TV app compatible with Emby 4.8. embyserver-5.txt embyserver-63846403200.txt
  4. I admit this isn't the worlds most important problem, but I like everything clean and organized. So one thing thats been bugging me for quite some time is the mixture of styles in the season-posters for one show - maybe for season one there is an "the complet season one" text at the top of the poster, for season two there is just a large "2" in the bottom left and season 3 is designed in yet another style. I know that I can manually change the image for each season, but this is quite time consuming. The loading of the available posters is painstakingly slow and sometimes incomplete, I've to check all seasons first to make sure the style that I want to use is available for all seasons and then I've to go thru it all again to select the appropriate images. So my question: Is there a better way to detect which posters belong together and chose a complete series for all seasons? Could emby be improved to do it automatically? Or are there any other plugins/databases/tricks I could use? How do you other OCD-users out there do it?
  5. Hi Since v3 of TheTVDB is live they support flexible seasons. It would be great if Emby could support this. An example where this would come in handy is La Casa de Papel (Money Heist). Right now Emby only shows The Antenna 3 seasons (2 seasons) while I'd prefer to see the Netflix ordering which has 3 seasons: https://beta.thetvdb.com/series/la-casa-de-papel .
  6. My issue or goal with this post is that i would like at the very least for the show titles to be in Norwegian and ideally also all the other metadata as thetvdb often only have metadata in the original language of the show. Situation: I have a separate library for tv-shows in my native language, The Preferred downloading language, Country and Preferred downloading language for pictures are all set to Norwegian. (under library settings). Yet all shows are displayed with an English title and English show description, And lack the show description. For the purposes of this post i'm referring to this show: https://thetvdb.com/series/the-great-norway-adventure The show title is in both Norwegian and English, The show and episode info are all in Norwegian only. I'm not sure about the pictures. The individual episodes only have descriptions in Norwegian (on the thetvdb) and these are missing on Emby. It apears i'm only getting metadata in english instead of the chosen language. I attempted to set the language for just this show and refresh all metadata (replacing existing) and yet there was no improvement. It does not appear to be an issue for my movie folder set to Norwegian, So i guess this is the tvdb api. Attached are logs for the next 6 minutes after i told Emby to refresh the metadata (replacing metadata). Edit: nvm i found this: https://forums.thetvdb.com/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=60423&p=174944&hilit=norwegian#p174944 I created this post as i found this issue to be on their fixed list, but i guess not. The issue is aparantly still with thetvdb api and is limited to the Norwegian Language.
  7. I've been trying all day to get Emby to download the metadata for a specific show from TheTVDB, but parts of it aren't coming through, especially the Specials. I've tried multiple times, wiping the nfo files, double checking the filenames, using the Identify tool, etc, none of it has helped. The show is Mai-Otome. I've tried other shows and they seem to be working fine. I dug through the log and found these two errors: 2020-04-15 21:25:01.811 Error App: Error in TheTVDB *** Error Report *** Version: 4.4.2.0 Command line: C:\Users\johndoe\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\system\EmbyServer.dll Operating system: Microsoft Windows NT 6.2.9200.0 64-Bit OS: True 64-Bit Process: True User Interactive: True Runtime: file:///C:/Users/johndoe/AppData/Roaming/Emby-Server/system/System.Private.CoreLib.dll System.Environment.Version: 3.1.3 Processor count: 8 Program data path: C:\Users\johndoe\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\programdata Application directory: C:\Users\johndoe\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\system System.Xml.XmlException: System.Xml.XmlException: The '.' character, hexadecimal value 0x00, cannot be included in a name. What I did was I just manually updated to v4.4.2 booted the server deleted the *.nfo files for my show and added an .ignore file scanned my library in order to wipe the show from my database deleted the .ignore file and scanned my library again Show appears in my library, but again chunks of the metadata are missing Any ideas? embyserver.zip

Add episodes that "thetvdb" doesn't know

I feel pretty stupid right now, but I can't figure out how to fix this problem. I've the BluRay version of the show Ascension (https://www.thetvdb.com/series/ascension/episodes/5017375) which consists of six episodes. When it originaly aired they always added two episodes together and therefore only aired it as a three-part series. Therefore thetvdb only lists episodes 1 to 3. So I've six files, but emby only accepts and adds the first three to the database. What can I do now? How do I fix this?
  9. I see TheTVDB have released a new beta site here: http://platypus.thetvdb.com/ Some of the new features are: Will Emby be supporting the new API in the near future?
  10. I've been scratching my head over American Dad... TheTVDB which is the data source for MB states the we are currently in Season 12 of American Dad (with S12E02 screened on 27/10/2014). The rationale for this season number comes is explained here - essentially theTVDB is honoring the original FOX season numbers, which includes just 7 episodes in Season 1. Unfortunately, almost every other website uses a different set of seasons, which put the current season at 11. Importantly, any place you might choose to download an episode also uses S11 as the current season, which means that you can't use the auto-organise function to import the episode, since it will match the wrong meta-data from theTVDB. Is there anything that can be done about this? The forums on theTVDB make it clear they're not going to change their numbering, and there are too many other sites using S11 to expect them all to suddenly adopt theTVDB numbering system, so it seams this is likely to be something we're going to have to 'fudge' our end.
